Horrible experience they treat you like a king or queen when you walk in after you purchase the vehicle you are trash to them they re attitude is totally irate I purchased a truck it was dirty when I purchased because the wash shop closed early unexpectedly I then went to pick up my plates and was told I owe more money after what they charged me then to find out they registered it to my old address and if I wanted my new address on their it would be my responsibility after I told them I wanted my new address in the beginning of the transaction due to covid 19 being an issue getting to the dmv then had to wait for my truck to be cleaned over an hour for a second time around customer I figured I would have a better experience but things just got worse won t be a third time around they lost me as a returning customer I m very disappointed.

Always helpful and always satisfied with fast service and above expectations. Today the gentleman that helped check me in acually drove my car up to the door so I wouldnt go in the rain as I was leaving. I would highly recommend Them!

It was a great experience for us to buy a pre-owned car from Tarbox Toyota in 2015 Jan. The salesman was quite nice to introduce the car we were interested in, with some great after sale service they will provide. Everything was perfect, we bought the car the first day we went to Tarbox, the price was totally fair and acceptable after negotiation. We preferred to buy from Tarbox since it is a big dealer and a few friends of us have bought their cars from here as well.
The only little imperfection was that we waited for longer time without any notification than expected (they said within two weeks) to get our formal licence plates and registration. And when we tried to call and email them for a few times to find out what was going on with those processes, no response was given. After a few times trying, finally, this problem was solved and we got our documents. If anyone could reach out to us and help us figure out the situation sooner, that would be much much better than now.
Hopefully, we will get good service when we go back for maintenance as they promised. In a word, it's a good place to consider when buying cars.

Tarbox Toyota provides excellent service for my van. Their service department is knowledgeable, professional, friendly and their pricing reasonable. It is a great combination that keeps me returning there for all of my service work. What I like the most is when I leave the facility I know my car has been professionally repaired or maintained and I received a great value for the dollars I spent.

I purchased a 2011 Toyota Camry at Tarbox Toyota in North Kingstown yesterday.
Alan Boutiette was the most professional, polite and amazing salesperson I have ever dealt with. I shopped around before making my final purchase at Tarbox, but no other salesperson provided me with the exemplary customer service that Alan did. He wasn't pushy or overbearing - which made me want to buy a car at Tarbox and stop shopping around. He took the time to answer all my questions and explained everything carefully and thoroughly. In fact, my mother liked his demeanor so much, she is going to back to Tarbox tomorrow to purchase a vehicle for herself.

When it came time to pay for the vehicle, Staline Biosse was wonderful. He also explained everything thoroughly and answered all my questions knowledgeably. He was very entertaining as well.

I think if every car dealership filled their showroom with the Alan and Staline's of the world, you'd have some serious competition. Both gentlemen made this normally stressful process feel much less stressful.

So glad that I purchased my 2019 Rav4 from Tarbox. Excellent sales experience with no pressure at all. Alex B. , my sales rep, was focused on getting me what I wanted and graciously helped me with the 'new technology' in new cars. The service dept. is excellent too....easy to schedule appointments, they get right to the job, and got me out in a timely fashion. The whole building is clean, organized, and welcoming. Kudos!

Even though I had an appointment it still took more than 2 hours for a state inspection.
The driver floor mat was also covered in oil footprints. What dealership or auto service
doesn t use paper mats to protect the floors????
The fellows that handle your service are always very nice but it s always downhill from there..
I m done with Tarbox!

I don't think I have ever written a review, but felt this one deserves my input. Car buying can be stressful along with irratating at the same time. I have bought a lot of vehicles in my life and never had the service or experience I received at Tarbox Toyota. From the beginning, the salesman (Mike Benjamin) did not make us walk around the parking lot looking at cars, he brought the car of intertest to me. He then was patient as I walked around the vehicle and tested each knob and thoroughly checked the vehicle over, he followed patiently without wasting words or trying to persuade me one way or the other. After the test drive, he kindly asked for information and allowed the finance team to do their magic. I received a better interest rate than any other bank could offer and also a 5 yr 75000 powertrain warranty for pennies on the dollar. My experience cannot be expressed in words, the team at Tarbox needs to bottle whatever they are doing and sell the recipe to the rest of the car sellers out there. Even Tarbox's service department is phenomenal. We were greeted as the customer should be. Do yourself a favor and let Toyota Tarbox take the stress out of car buying. Their whole team are magicians and the real illusion is how they make a stressful situation disappear and make car buying enjoyable.

I recently purchased a 2013 Toyota Corolla and had an amazing buying experience. If you are considering buying a car ask for Howard- he's great! He was really nice, knowledgable, straightforward and to the point. You could tell that he was a man of integrity and I felt that he was really trying to get me the best deal possible that would work for me. He literally did everything for me and explained everything thoroughly- I just sat back and signed the papers. Ed Tarbox even stopped by and said hello as well! This was the easiest and most enjoyable car buying experience I have had. Can't wait to continue doing business with them in the future!

I had my 2012 Tundra serviced at Tarbox this past week and was happy about the service and hospitality of all that I spoke with about issues with the truck. The truck was scheduled for a routine service but the engine light came on while driving to the appointment. They were able to troubleshoot the truck and solve the problem with some extensive work needing to be done on the fuel delivery system. I was able to pick up the very next day and the truck is back up and running strong. Thanks to the service department at Tarbox. A big shout out goes out to the service department!!!!

I wanted to suprize my wife Linda with a new 4Runn...

I wanted to suprize my wife Linda with a new 4Runner for Christmas. I assumed that the buying process would be tedious and drawnout, however after meeting with the Tarbox Toyota folks, Linda's Trail Premium now resides in our garage as an EARLY Christmas present.
My sales guy John Morrissey, finance Manager Edgar Pinto as well as a host of managers made the buying experience easy, seamless and with absolutely no pressure. I'd like to thank you guys for this proffesional deal.
This is our 5th Toyota and 3rd one purchased from TarboxToyota which tells me that we will certainly pull in next time we're in the market for another.

I went to one of the other dealerships in the area, in Warwick, and was not impressed in anyway. VERY pushy salesmen, a lot of the stereotypical sales tactics and just a generally cold atmosphere really turned me off. However, I really like the Tacoma, and I decided to head down to the Tarbox and I couldn't have been happier with my experience. My salesman, John, was great, financing was easy and everyone else was great.

I have never had a terrible experience while waiting for service at Toyota, but today, Thursday September 10, 2015 my service technician went above and beyond and I wanted to recognize that here.

I stopped into the service area this morning on a tight schedule. I was told that an oil change takes about an hour by Jonathan Prickett, which would make me late for my 10am appointment. I asked if there was any chance they could get it done more quickly, so I wouldn't be late. Jonathan said he would do his best, but I should call my appointment anyhow just in case I was a little late.

Much to my delight, at 9:47 he came over to tell me they had gotten everything taken care of! I know they hurried in order to accommodate my restricted time frame. Great customer service Jonathan and Tarbox Toyota!

From start to finish I drove out in my new truck in less than three hours. There were no hassles, gimmicks or roadblocks to the process. I knew already that I wanted a Tacoma and how much I wanted to pay, so it was a simple matter of test driving a couple trucks and then getting the paperwork done.

Great experience for what can sometimes be an anxious and aggravating process.

I purchased my first new car more than fifty years ago. Since then I have purchased many others. I recently bought a 2014 Camry SE from Tarbox Toyota. Everyone from the salesman, Rich Costa, to the new car sales manager, Matt Remsen and the owner,Ed Taxbox did everything possible to see I got the vehicle I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. It was the best experience I have ever had in buying a new car. I will go back again the next time anyone in my family wants to purchased a new motor vehicle.

Everyone at Tarbox Toyota were professional and extremely helpful. Mark, Brad, and Justin in service made sure they did their best to take care of me and my Rav4 when I was having issues with it. Jess Camp, my salesman, was just wonderful to work with. He carefully went over all of the features of my Rav4, taking the time to enter my radio pre-sets and cell phone data. He has a great sense of humor and a very laid back demeanor that make you relax when you meet him. Alvin, in finance, did everything possible to ensure I was getting the best deal available. He is a great person to work with! Finally, I cannot praise Ray Clements enough. He personally took care of me and put me in the car of my dreams.
The team at Tarbox Toyota is perfect. I wouldn't want to shop anywhere else and I tell all of my friends and customers to check them out when they get ready to buy a car.
You are missing out if you haven't given them a try!

My fiance and I had purchased a 2009 Toyota Matrix...

My fiance and I had purchased a 2009 Toyota Matrix from Tarbox in January 2012 and unbeknownst to us, our family increased by one in November of that same year. We gradually grew too large for the hatchback and needed to upgrade to a larger vehicle... which we thought we would wait until the Summer to do.

We went in for a routine oil change on March 31st of this year, went up to the Showroom to look at a few SUV options and met with Jess Camp. Jess showed us the 2014 RAV 4 and we knew this was the car or us. He was personable, knowledgeable, and had a similar situation to us as he is a new dad to a 9 week old daughter. I felt so at ease with Jess; he really listened to our situation and knew what the best fit for us would be.

We met with Edgar Pinto to finalize our paperwork and we drove home in our new 2014 RAV 4 that same night. Edgar ensured that we understood all that we were signing and went into detail when we had questions. He was amazing with guiding us through the lease process.

Both Jess and Edgar called us to check in various times in the two weeks we have had our new car and I couldn't be more pleased with their customer service. I would recommend any of my family or friends to Tarbox and tell them to ask for Jess while in the Showroom.

I've always been very happy with service at Tarbox Toyota but now I'm even more thrilled. I always went to Majestic Motors prior to this because I highly regarded the head of service there who was Mark Hampshire. I found out Friday that he works at Toyota Tarbox now so I'll be extremely confident that my car is being well looked after with Mark in charge of it. He is extremely knowledgeable, patient and caring which is a winning combination. Tarbox is very lucky to have him working for them!!

Tarbox went above and beyond helping me purchase my new car. A friend recommended I check out Tarbox and I never even considered purchasing a Toyota. However, as soon as arrived, I was approached by an awesome sales represenative named Has who helped me pick out a Toyota that best fit my needs and wants. Has and his team at Toyota has been extremely helpful throughout the whole process of getting a new car, not to mention I got an amazing deal! I initially chose Tarbox because I was told they were pretty low/no-pressure in their dealings. That was not the case at all. I told the salesman (Hass) that I had no intention of buying that day, and was just gathering information. But, during the hour or so that I was there, between he and his general sales manager (Anton), they must have shoved the contract under my nose for me to sign about a half-dozen times. By the time I left, not only did I not buy a car, but I was quite annoyed. Bottom line: if you're the kind of person who enjoys high-pressure, relentless sales tactics, this is the place for you. If not, avoid Tarbox like the plague.

UPDATE: I ended up buying my 2017 Corolla at Balise Toyota in Warwick, and had a much more pleasant, low-pressure experience than I did at Tarbox. I see bad reviews on here from people who dealt with the same staff members that I did, only months ago. That being said, you would think that if Tarbox really took these reviews seriously, they would have instructed their staff to change their tune by now. Based on my experience, that's very obviously not the case. All talk/BS. Don't believe their P.R. spin.

When I went to Tarbox, I was apprehensive that it was just going to be like all the other automobile sales experiences from the past. To my pleasant surprise, the experience was unlike any that I have ever had before.
The sales team was very accommodating and friendly, there was no sales pressure at all and they treated me with respect. They were very honest with my financial situation, which was not ideal to buy a new car. They still did all that they could to find me the financing I needed and the car I wanted was the one I ended up buying!
Thanks to Ray, Bill Derby, and mostly Edgar in the financing department, without whom I wouldn't have been able to take home my 2014 Tc! Thanks guys!

Would give a 0 if I could. They messed up my oil change and gave me conventional instead of synthetic and their only thing to do was to give me my synthetic and wait even longer. When I asked for a PARTIAL refund they gave me an attitude and expected me to come in for the synthetic and pay the difference which they said was double the price even though I have an amail saying that it would only be 49 but now they tell me it's 76!This has been a huge let down and to my disappointment I will not be going back for ANYTHING. I was planning in the future when my current car is done in going there for a newer yaris but nope, not now. All I wanted was a $20 refund for my time and frustration. This was a mistake by them and they gave me attitude when I asked what they could do besides have me waste more of my time when it could have been done right the first time. Very disappointing and I don't recommend.

I have been a long time customer and have bought several vehicles from Tarbox. I always receive exceptional courteous service. Today I came in for an oil change only. The service tech confirmed the oil change with tire rotation. Knowing you always have coupons and specials, I assumed the rotation was included and the way it was relayed back to me I had no reason to question it. When I was paying the bill, I noticed a $29.99 fee was added in for the tire rotation, which I did not need as I recently had new tires put on my vehicle and the 2 new tires were in the front and now are in the back. When I mentioned it to the technician, he said he "could take a couple of bucks off". I was not looking for that but was more concerned my 2 newer tires were on the back. The tech was very pleasant and nice, but should have asked me if I wanted the rotation when I only stated an oil change. However, you guys are still great and 1 error over the many years, is a great track record. Just thought you might want to know of this. Thx

I am always extremely satisfied with the quality of service, the quality of the professionals, and the ease of the process. My visit today for routine oil change turned out to be another exceptional experience. I was dissatisfied with my dull headlights now that we have gone back to eastern standard time. Norm in parts told me I could get new brighter ones, he ordered them, they arrived the next day then I got a call on that morning and Norm said they are here and you mentioned you wanted service so when do you want to come in. I said today? He said great, when, I said I'll be there in an hour. I went in and the entire car was checked for the winter, oil service was done and now I have great new bright headlights. Thank you everyone from my advisor Michael Thibeault to all of the people who do the great work. I am delighted with your professionalism, efficiency, and sensitivity to the customers time.

I took my Tundra in for a brake job. They said I needed new power steering lines. They replaced the lines but now there is a huge problem. They leak like it is raining. Now that I think of it, not once in 170,000 miles did I ever need to add power steering fluid. I think my old lines were fine. Further, they never replaced the stone guard under the engine. Other work they did was cosmetically flawed. The owner displays beautifully restored classic cars in his showroom. I know my truck did not get treated the same way.

I worked with a salesman by the name of Haus or Husse, he initially walked past my mother and I before letting us know he could help us, and a trail of weed smell followed him. We are pretty liberal, so we laughed it off. Then he came over to help us and we were terrified, the last thing we wanted was a stoned guy trying to talk finances to us.

After telling him I just wanted to turn my lease in without releasing w Toyota, for financial decision he informed me of a disposition fee of $350 to just turn the vehicle back over to Toyota, which I was never told about at the start of my lease, but I understand because there's paperwork and fees associated with that. Then he proceeded to inform about "wear and tear" billing on a turned in least vehicle, and how he hasn't turned in a lease that wasn't billed at least $1500. At this point I'm overwhelmed, he then tells me that if I leased with Toyota again that 1850 would be waived. So at that point I was considering leasing another Corolla, not because I wanted it, but because I didn't want to have to pay that ridiculous fee. Or repeat myself another 4 times to this knucklehead who was barely paying attention to anything I was saying.

When Haus/Husse/Whatever went to check something, my mother and I talked to the finance person about the "wear and tear" fee. This finance guy said there was no one there who appraises the cars and that Toyota has to send someone out to assess the turned in lease. When we told him our sales rep said there was a minimum of $1500 dollars we'd have to pay, the finance guy said that there is no way of actually knowing how much the appraiser will charge for "wear and tear".

Needless to say, we went somewhere else, after numerous other places looked at my car I was told there could be no way it had $1500 dollars worth of "wear and tear". Homeboy, Haus/Husse/Whatever was attempting to use scare tactics to get me into a vehicle. I don't understand how Tarbox can allow such an idiot to be interacting with their customers. That one sales representative turned me completely off to Tarbox. Good luck if you decide to purchase a car there!

I bought my first car from this dealership six years ago and the staff have always exceeded my expectations in the service department. Justin Morris consistently goes out of his way to make the servicing of my vehicle an easy process. He is friendly and makes it a point to make connections with his customers. I always get a fair price for the service and I have never been taken advantage of. If my next car is not a Toyota, I may still come back for the massage chairs, popcorn, and nice people.

Fortunately none of the vehicles have required major work but the routine maintenance has always been done efficiently and cost effective. I recommend both the dealership and Service department.

This is the first Toyota that I have bought and Gordon Schoomaker made this a wonderful experience. Gordon is very energetic, knowledgeable and truthful and was a breath of fresh air to work with. First and foremost I told Gordon entering the dealership that if I bought a vehicle I needed the delivery to be the next day for a surprise birthday gift for my wife. Gordon brought us to see all the vehicles that included items on my wife s wish list. When I left the dealership I had purchased a Tacoma, had running boards instated, financing and assurance that the vehicle would be ready for pick up the next day. My wife received the Tacoma on her birthday. She love s the vehicle and the feel of the drives. Gordon is the ideal salesperson and I will contact him for all future auto purchases.

There's a complimentary nail salon, free wifi, and a beautiful waiting room. It's like a mini Disney world. Plus you're right next to Allie's Doughnuts, so that's a plus. Overall a great experience. Oh and they fixed my car quickly and all that, but the waiting area is really what it's all about.

We were already had determined we wanted a Corolla for my daughter prior to the visit, this would be my 5th Toyota purchased. I have had great experiences with all of them driving and little to no mechanical failures. The sales person was very friendly Rich Costa, not pushy in any way and totally gave us all the answers to everything we asked of him. We ended up with a top of the line Corolla even though we had not wanted to spend that kind of money. Everyone at Tar Box was very helpful. The only negative issue was having to wait around 3.5 hours to close the deal from the financial department once we had agreed with the sales department head on a sale price.

I came to Tarbox Toyota N.K with the intent to buy a used car and not spend a lot of money. At first I was nervous but then I had the pleasure of being shown around by one of the nicest sales men I have ever met named Josh. He made me feel comfortable and not pressured. He drove me and my kids around for countless hours and eventually got us into our dream car. I cant thank him enough for all of his generosity, kindness, patience and the overall great experience. Tim Kane is very laid back and put us right at ease. We were ready to walk away and leave if somebody annoying and pushy came at us. After speaking with Tim for a short while we felt confident enogh to move ahead and make a purchase.

The office was a different story, "THEY BLACK BOOK YOUR TRADE IN" Look up the difference between black book and blue book , you'll be suprised. They depreicate your trade in so badly you have to threaten to walk away.

They will not budge from their msrp . We should have walked but "Anton" in the office is such a weasel we didn't realise we were paying full price. I will never return to this dealership again . DO NOT GO TO TARBOX. YOU ARE JUST PAYING FOR THE NEW BUILDING!!!

I've just recently purchased a 2013 plug-in Prius from Tarbox. I found the sales person to be informative without being pushy. Both the sales rep and the business rep who processed the paperwork were most helpful in accommodating our specific needs (for instance facilitating the process of my son and I swapping cars so that his older car could be used as a trade-in. They also facilitated the resulting 2-state registration process without batting an eye.

I went here with my sister to purchase a car.. We met with Zac we was awesome.. how ever the manager sits on the far right was a real piece of work, yelling and raising his voice at different people. then screaming on the intercom for someone, then when the guy came that he called cursed over and over not knowing that we could hear him. But the best part was when the sales person came up with an offer i had walked over to rest room . on my way to restroom I don't F@#^ing care what they want to pay whats the matter you too weak its two girls, What really!!!!.. I was stunned that they are talking about us.. Then another manager came over to talk to us Howard we said we are all set.. we got our keys from Zac and went to Valenti Toyota and bought our new Camry SE .. We found out thru the website his Name was Anton was the manager who was the real jerk! I promise you will be happier at valenti they treat you with respect and excellent customer service !! Sorry Zac for the 2 stars you as a person deserve 5 Stars!

I was a loyal customer at the old site until I had a terrible experience in Service. I came back today for a Toyota specific issue and I couldn't have been more impressed! Andrew met me at my car window when I pulled in and not only did he check me in, but he found 7 other factory recalls I hadn't known about! He was professional and kind and he even arranged for me to get a ride home and back so I wouldn't have to wait!!! Very good experience! I'll be back

I bought my first Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport at Tarbo...

I bought my first Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport at Tarbox back in 2015 and had a great experience. Last week I decided to make an upgrade as they had a beautiful 2020 Tacoma TRD Pro in stock that really caught my eye. I made my initial inquiry through their Internet team and they were very responsive. I was able to do all the price negotiation via email as well as provide some cursory information about my trade-in without ever having to set foot in the dealership.

Once things were solidified with their Internet team I went up to the dealership to see the vehicle in person and give it a test drive. Everyone from the Sales Manager, my individual salesperson and Finance were friendly and helpful with no hard sales pressure. I was able to complete my trade in and drive off in my new TRD Pro within a couple hours!

Overall it was another fantastic experience at Tarbox and I'll certainly be going back there FIRST for any future purchase.

Outside of the great sales department, I used them for most of my service and maintenance for my 2015. I love the early bird appointments where I could just show up first thing in the morning and get my oil changed and inspections done. The waiting room is quite comfortable and has a couple massage chairs to help take the edge off the wait.

Unfortunately, purchasing a new 2019 vehicle from Tarbox Toyota was not a pleasant car buying experience. My husband and I are frustrated that it took us six weeks before we could finally correct misstatements and clerical errors that occurred after our purchase. The lackadaisical attitude on the part of the Tarbox employees does not meet high performance standards.

Don't see Charlie Johnson if thats really his name if you go to Tarbox. Gave him a $500 deposit on my CC. When the deal fell through I told him to put the money back into my CC account. He said he cannot do it and I would have to come there to have it done and Slammed the phone in ear. I had to contact Toyota DIrectly to have them talk to Tarbox to get my $500 back into my account.

A terrible experience. My husband & I went to the dealership and showed an interest in a highlander. The highlander we initally looked at was out of our price range. We were told the sales department could put some numbers together and help us find a lease in our price range. Since it was late at night we agreed they could put the numbers together and give us a call. Because I have a newborn I had a family member work on the deal with the sales manager, who he had a previous experience with. We were all set to purchase a 2019 highlander. We packed the baby up and my husband rushed after work only to have the bait and switch pulled on us. We drove an hour in Friday night traffic to find out they were selling us a 2018. We ended up having to walk away.

The only nice part of this experience was the kind finance manager.

UPDATE: Mark the service manager reached out directly and resolved the issue.

Service Review: I hate to have to write bad reviews on local businesses being a local business owner myself but the service department has continued to let me down. I have a tacoma I purchased new at Tarbox that has had a front end clanking noise since about 10k; I am now at almost 30k. I brought up the issue as soon as it started and have brought it up every service visit the truck as been in including take rides with techs on two separate occasions where they all heard the noise. I have 5 friends with the same exact truck (year, body style) none of which make the noise my truck continues to make. I get the feeling service just wants to push cars through because they are always really busy. It seems they don't really want to take the time to figure out what the cause of the problem is but just to the oil change and the easy stuff and move on. If your just looking to get your routine maintenance done service is fine but heads up for any unique issues because you may need to not work your day job so you can just bring your truck in over and over again.

I brought my truck there for a service because from where I work it was more convenient then the dealership I purchased it from. I told them that the last service was at 100k and now the vehicle had over 200k, I picked it up and was told about a few things that would need attention sometime in the near future but nothing to worry about. Less than two weeks later I heard a noise coming from the drive line it turned out to be the Carrier bearing and u joints and that both differentials had excessive wear. I found out there was a recall on the carrier bearing so I had it towed to the dealership I purchased it from where they found that there was also a recall on the rear leaf springs. While they were inspecting it they found a rot hole in the frame and told me that Toyota would be contacting me about replacing the frame as well. NONE of this was found on the service done two weeks prior at Tarbox! I guess I know where I won't be going when it's time for a new vehicle!
