I live less than 3 miles from another Toyota dealership, here in town. Based on a couple of unfavorable personal experiences with that dealership, I was looking for another Toyota dealership to purchase my new car from. Fortunately, Tanksy Toyota was recommended to me. The up front pricing and working with Stephan King made buying my 2014 Prius a favorable experience. Stephan provided excellant customer service, along with the entire staff at Tanksy. The Tanksy people located the exact car I wanted, and had transfered to their lot that day. Everyone, especially Stephan, went above in beyond with customer service to make sure that I had a great experience. I would recommend Stephan and Tanksy Toyota to anyone looking to buy a vehicle.

Very good customer experience, good pricing and customer care, completed my 10k miles and 2nd service today.

[Saw all the comments on Richard Norman, that makes these reviews suspicious :D, but he is an hardworking active man, I see him when ever I go there]
(I got my car from Ervin Rhodes, he was so friendly and supportive, I went back to tansky even though the other dealer promised me 250$ less than tansky :D )
(my roomate also leased a camry from tansky, he too has very good opinion, I would recommend this dealer if you are looking for a Toyota)

Very disappointing!! 3 reasons..promised for car wash, but not done and this is not first time they missed. Mentioned tire pressure checked, but not done..last reason, rejected for tire rotation as I had done 2 months ago, but again done rotation with charges in spite of rejecting...though small issues, But I payed for everything. I didn't expect such negligent service from tansky though being the customer for last 6 Year s..lost trust completely on them..

Extremely poor service. I have been to Tansky for the past 3 years to service my Corolla and thought the sales team would be equally competent, sadly that's not the case. I was in to learn about the new Camry XLE and XSE but the salesman did not have any idea about the trim types and I has to explain even though I am not a car geek! He simply wasted 2 hours of time talking non-sense. Salesman didn't know what is V6 or even the term fully loaded means. To top everything when I asked about tech package he said it will be delivered with the other manual and books!!!

Richard Norman, Thank you so much!! My experience was wonderful at Tansky Toyota recently. My salesman, Richard, was extremely helpful and courteous. He helped me to decide on the best car to fit my style and personality. While all along making me feel comfortable in knowing that he was very knowledgeable about the vehicle I was sold. I truly appreciate the experience and the atmosphere there at Tansky, and want to thank Richard for all of his help and professionalism. I now have a car that I feel very confident with, and I am so thankful that I chose Tansky because of the warm, friendly, welcoming atmosphere I experienced.

I bought a 2014 certified pre-owned Corolla from T...

I bought a 2014 certified pre-owned Corolla from Tansky Toyota in December 2016/January 2017 and I have had nothing but issues with the vehicle and honestly, I don't even think my vehicle went through the CPO inspection after ultimately not having the vehicle for 3 months of the 18 that I have owned it and it is now in the shop again. On top of that all attempts to talk to the sales manager Mark have been ignored on multiple occasions now which is extremely disappointing and makes my business feel worthless.

5 months after purchasing the vehicle, I moved to Texas and made a 3 day road trip with the vehicle, at which it had issues on day 2 and 3 ultimately resulting in over $10,000 worth of parts and labor - the vehicle was mere hundreds of dollars from being totaled with a full engine, powertrain, and other damage. This was all caused by an aftermarket part that "wasn't caught in the CPO inspection." The repair ended up being covered by warranty but not after A LOT of back and forth/arguing about the situation with the dealership repairing the vehicle and Tansky. I was also given a rental that I had to put on my card was only reimbursed for part of the cost and that was literal months after.

The second incident occurred after body work was done to the vehicle and other aftermarket parts were discovered resulting in another astronomical $5,000 worth of damage that was initially meant to be simple cosmetic fixes.

The vehicle is now in the shop for another undetermined amount of time after the brake pad literally fell off of the car and another estimated ~$2500 of damages. In the words of the dealership I took it to here in Austin, it was caused by "some of the worst rust he'd seen" on the bottom/other parts of the car although I only had the car for a winter and half and quite frankly an Austin winter is like spring in Ohio - again leading me to feel like my car was literally not even inspected from the start.

Buying a vehicle from Tansky Toyota was the worst decision of my life financially and I hate my car with every fiber of my being now. And the worst part they have proven time and time again that all they care about is the dollar value and not the customer.

EDIT: A week has gone by and nothing has happened after being told they are looking into it, another let down. I will now be taking this review to other platforms.

I droped off our van off for a few things that needed repaired. All contact with Tansky's repair Department was initiated by me. There were numerous other repairs needed, we have an extended warranty that offered to pay for a rental car. It took over 6 days before they had an rental car available. My wife n I called daily to check on availability of rental car, the sevice writter told my wife that she had left me a messages about this. But I had not received any form of contact or communication from Tansky.

When I arrived to pick up the van the bill was $200 more then what I was previously told. No one could figure out how to explain the bill or the breakdown of repairs, even the manager couldn't figure it out. He told me he personally would call the next day, but I didn't receive a call, so I called n left message for manager. The 2nd day I received a call at 4:55pm from the service writer. She left a voice mail message stating your van has been ready for pick up. We had a wedding to attend 3 hrs. from Columbus n we had left already. So we could not pick up the car until Monday. When I was able to called on Saturday they were closed n could not leave a message. When I went to pick up the van the service writer said something about not calling , but I did attempt to call.
As far as repairs very pleased although it took 9 days to finish the job.
The repairs are working fine , only concern I have is the length of time it took to complete the job. As far as communication with me about the repairs and progress this was poor at best. It does not appear that Tansky Service Department has a focus on serving their customer or making them a priority.

I was shopping for a car after an accident and was definitely not looking forward to it. However the people at Tansky were super friendly and took care of me immediately upon walking in the door. Although I already knew what kind of car I was looking for, I managed to purchase a car within 30 minutes after the test drive. Amel was wonderful at her job and already knew her best offer she could give me for the car and didn't haggle or waste my time during the debate for prices. All in all it was a pretty great experience and I'm loving my new to me car. Can never go wrong with a Toyota.

Charles "Big Red" Hessel did an excellent job as my service advisor and preventive maintenance was completed in less than the estimated time. Dealers' profits come more from maintenance and repair than from sales, so I still wonder if I could not have had the same quality of service for less money in the non-dealer automotive sector.

Highly recommend! My car consultant, Greg, made me feel very comfortable and confident in my decision to purchase my car. He was very helpful, and stayed in my price range when searching for cars to take a look at. He didn't try to pressure sell me into anything just to get a sale, and answered all my questions. When looking for my next car, I know where I'm going to go!

Hi,my friends here! Let me ask you a question:After I had spent $1426.43 on my car regular maintenance and 4 new tires ,do I qualify to drive my car on the road with ease ?Unfortunately, this is not the case!I need send my car back right away to get my tires fixed .At the very end of the process they finally gave me a word which is what they done was put some seals under the air hole somewhere.Does it make any sense to all of you ,my friends here? Why my tires need did this job after I had replaced the old tires to new tires? And why they should get this job done for 3 hours and a half after all the customers who came after me even the walked in customers had left. I miss my old tires ,they never ever brought me a problem .

My friends here, does it sounds like "operation complication"? How just changed old tires to new tires caused this time costly work which was added some seals inside tire somewhere?I am worried now when I drive my car on the road every day.I worry there would be one day my car would stop in the middle of nowhere just because problem caused during tire changed process.

My friends here,we all humans ,I understand mistake it happens sometimes. Honesty should be the best policy ,isn't it ?Tansky Sawmill Toyota is still owe me an explanation how this happened.

Thank you very much for listening,my friends.Good luck to all of you!

So I wrote a review here over a month ago and they said they will look into this and have yet to find a way to solve my issue. I have called atleast 5 times and left voicemails and no one calls back. I have gone in person to solve this problem and their finance manager richie Ables tells me he will call me back with what he finds out and this was a week ago. I have emailed him few times and he doesn t even have courtesy to email me back. Worst customer service ever. Do not trust these people.

All they care about is their sell. They sold us protec and never submitted any paperwork to the company. So we basically paid and don t get any benefits from it. I have been calling multiple people at tansky and leaving messages and no one is calling back. They are very unprofessional and would never go back to buy another car from them.

I cannot say enough about this place. I have purchased 2 cars from them in a month. I worked with Amel who made the experience great. She really has a way of making you feel like a friend during the process. There is no pressure to upgrade or spend more than you can. Jim the general manager took the time to work the best deal for me. It became a place where we spend our Sundays because my wife also bought a car from Amel. I could not say one bad thing about this place. From the time we walked in the front door we were greeted with a friendly face and were taken right to Amel. My daughter enjoyed the play area and the lounge area is great for passing the time. The furniture and decor is welcoming. In past experience buying a car has been stressful and overwhelming. Not at Toyota on Sawmill. It was an awesome experience!

Took over three hours to get oil change and 40k tune up. I was told it should be ready within 2 hours. They did discount my 40k tune up but not enough for time wasted waiting. I wish when scheduling they would be more accurate so as not to run into this issue. In the past they have beat their estimated time but yesterday they failed miserably.

An extremely smooth transaction took less than 30 minutes to put a deal together. I would recommend anyone using USAA Car Buying service to buy their next vehicle here. Stop in and ask for Alex Tepe he is awesome, he listens and then asks appropriate questions to ensure you are getting exactly what you want. You will leave happy about the experience. It's a new world in the car buying arena.

Friendly, honest and efficient! We enjoyed the most straight forward car-buying experience with Tansky Sawmill. As an out-of-town buyer, quick response and a streamlined process were both very important. Marc delivered both along with a great price. Although we're two hours away, Tansky Sawmill will be the first place we visit when it's time to buy our next Toyota. Thanks for a painless car buying experience!

Pathetic diagnosis. Not Trustworthy!!!

Pathetic diagnosis. Not Trustworthy!!!

Recently my 2001 Toyota Camry LE car engine started making noise and showing the engine oil light blinking. I towed my car to this dealership in order to fix it. After their diagnosis, I've been told that I need to replace the whole engine and total cost of everything would be around $5500.
Since the car itself worth of $4K, I didn't opt to fix the car and asked them about the new car and trade of this broken car. They said they can give me $200 for the broken car. Since it was $200, I didn't pursue to trade but I had to buy the new car.

Now, I looked at the used engine surrounding Columbus and found some deal and found a mechanic who can put the engine. The mechanic wants to look the car first before pursuing anything and woohhaa he found that there is absolutely NO issues with the engine at all. The only problem was the OIL PUMP which went bad and started making noise. This he could tell by just opening the car hood. He fixed broken my car.

Then I went back to Tansky dealership driving the same car and explained about it to Mark Mathew (Service Manager) and also showed the broken part (I still have it). He said he will check with mechanic's note and will get back to me. He didn't call me on the promised date and then I called and left VM. Next day he called me and explained that he was upset with his mechanics as he lost the car repairing opportunity (around $1000 bucks). I said when I am coming to Toyota dealership I am expecting guaranteed and accurate diagnosis which is not happened in my case. Since I took chance with my mechanic to look at it and found something else; Mark said I should have asked them to re-diagnose the car.
So, instead of saying my mechanic is not capable enough to diagnose and tendering apology; putting onus on the customer about re-diagnose with the same people. Also, he said I should have to pursue to fix the car and we might have find out at the later stage.

Common are you kidding me. Instead of tendering the apology; are you giving excuses to me. Accept it; your mechanic is not capable of doing diagnose the car or who knows whether he ever diagnose my car at all?? Just hearing noise mechanics determined the problem. Yes, he charged me $113 for the WRONG diagnose.

Then I asked him how can he assure me if I am coming tomorrow with my new car; He said since I have new car it has 2 year Toyota Care warranty!!!!! So, does this mean that you will be keep on doing mistakes and playing with customers car and ill advised. Does that mean I have to take my car after each of the service from your dealership to different mechanic to make sure that whatever you guys have done is really DONE!!!!!

Common man is this the assurance are you giving me??

Rest assure, you guys have lost my business and ofcourse from my all friends and family and colleagues.

I would give zero stars if I could. Contacted the dealership about a used car and asked if it was still available. I was told "good news, it is still available". I was then asked to make an appointment to come and look at it. I made a same day appointment. I then drove an hour and 45 minutes from Mason, Ohio only to find out that it had sold. I understand that cars can sell, but it would have been courteous to receive an email or phone call to save me the 3 hour round trip and babysitter fees. Common courtesy goes a long way for customer service. They had other cars that I may have been interested in but no attempt was made to help us or take care of us or even apologize. I have never been treated so poorly.

Went to buy a used vehicle. Test-drove it, went to test drive a couple others. Got a call the next morning, price had come down a little, we said yes we'll come and pick it up. We were asked to wait until the sales person came back from making a delivery. We walked in, they had sold the vehicle we had agreed to buy a half hour before we got there.

Sales manager said "I already shook their hand, I can't go back on that" -- which is dealership speak for "GFY" -- said they'd do all they could to help, tried to put us in a minivan. I'll never do business, used or new, with Tansky Toyota.

TERRIBLE customer service! If I could leave a -0 star I will! We got there and got treated like trash. Went on a Saturday and after 3 hours waiting told us we had to wait until Monday to get an answer we waited until Monday afternoon to let us know that we were not approved which is kind of funny that the truck we applied for was not there anymore and then we got and answer from the bank that we were pre approved for way more than the amount they requested for us.

Please stay away from there!

My wife and I purchased a Rav4 from Richard Norman this past week. Richard was great. We felt no pressure and we were able to work a deal that we were all happy with. We will be going to Richard for all of our future vehicle needs. The only reason I am giving a 4 star rating is because we had to wait nearly 2hrs to get into the finance department because they only had one finance guy working. He was also very nice and apologetic regarding our wait time, over all we had a very positive experience with Tansky.

Testimony:

Testimony:
1. Poor customer service team. Came in with an intent to purchase. One particular sales person chatting at the counter noticed me standing for a few minutes, and asked if I am getting help. He offered to get someone for me but it never happened.

2.Another salesman came to help and finally checked some cars. First one had terrible smoking odor and next one was a mixed information about certified and/or not certified with wrong pricing.

3. Sent me a followup automated email, to which I respectfully replied and offered for a call so I can help improve other customer experience with my end of feedback. Never responded me afterwards.

Suggestion:
1. Every person who steps in the store needs to be treated with respect and a degree of care.
2. Needs strong follow through system among their CS team and customer feedback system.
3. Develop common sense and people skill to CS team.

Edit: April 25, 2018
Thank you for yout gesture. Emailed you because you asked. I have not received a response since then (you posted social media email, but I see it's been edited.)

I called to inquire about a vehicle and negotiate the price somewhat since the dealership is approx. 40 miles from me. After some time, we agreed on a price, down payment tax, title etc. So I drove the 40 miles only to find out there were additional fees which, of course translated into a higher down payment and higher monthly payments. The purpose of the phone call was that I wouldn't have to drive 80 miles round trip unnecessarily. Which is exactly what happened. I was also informed by the salesman that "at that price, we are only making $150". I don't believe that to be true. The carfax ownership history is a mess and it appears that it has never really left that dealership. That seems to me that they have made plenty of money off that vehicle. The finance person was not friendly either.

Purchasing a car with Amel and Richard was a wonderful experience. With the help of both of them I was able to get the car I wanted at the price I wanted to pay. At Tansky, it was fun and easy and I left feeling like I was one of the Tansky family. Thank you Amel and Richard!

On October 1, 2020 I had 45,000 mile service done and also 4 new tires put on. The experience was great except for when I got the vehicle home I noticed that all 4 tires were missing the valve stem caps. I called that same evening and talked to the service member who worked with me that day. He said he would mail them to me. I said that would be great. 2 weeks later I am still waiting for them. I've called a couple of times and I keep getting told they were mailed. The mail doesn't take this long! I know the caps are a minor thing and I'm not usually quick to complain but after the amount of money I just spent for the tires and maintenance it is the principal of the matter and about customer service.

So much to say. First off I have been coming here ...

So much to say. First off I have been coming here for years but recently their service department has really been a huge let down.

Last experience...

Came in to get a routine oil change and mike check up. Asked for a rental So I could make it to work. As I was waiting a mechanic came up
And told the guy helping me out that the last rental
They had available had a flat tire. I figured it was a quick fix. They then informed me that the oil
Change would take as long as it would to fix the tire and they would put me up
First to get me out.... 2.5 hours later and late for work my car is done and I pay for the oil
Change and the "took care of the rental"
I called the customer service guy and he was very nice and let's me know my next visit is on them.

Fast forward to today...

My oil change light comes on and I get online to schedule my appointment. I have a late start to my day so i schedule my appointment for 7:45 am and say i will wait. Today (Monday)i come in to drop my car off talk to the guy who had called to apologize for my wait and rectify what had happened. He says they will take care of everything today, awesome great! I leave the service counter around 7:50 and it is now 11 am and I am still waiting for my car, no one has notified me about anything that is going on. I have seen multiple people come and leave who got here after me.

I'm a forgiving person but 2 times in a row is careless. My Toyota is only a 2012 and well taken care of. I have always made it a point to go to dealerships but this will be the last time
I visit this location. If you are looking for friendly service, they are great. Efficient and detail oriented? Not at all.

***Update****

After watching another person leave who had come in a fair amount of time after me I asked my service coordinator If my car was going to be done soon. As soon as he walked out he walked back in and informed me my car was done too. I gathered my stuff and headed to check out. I asked does it usually take this long for oil changes? "No we have a 145 appointments today with only 4 people working, you know Monday's and how people don't want to show up to work" After that answer I knew I had nothing nice to say so I kindly left to get my car. Got to my car and the keys were missing...walked back inside and left. Sorry Tansky, you lost a loyal customer today.

Do not go here if you value your money or safety.

Wow is all I can say, I have been going to Toyota dealerships for eight years now to service my Toyota. This is absolutely the worst dealership I have ever been to. I will keep this story short. A simple brake job turned into a two month or deal. After damaging my car they gave me a rental. Then when I got my car back a week later I am on the highway and there is a loud vibration, I look in the mirror and my tire is gyrating unstably, so in the middle of traffic my wheel is about to fall off. i call them and they send a flat bed truck. Customer service was terrible no one said simply "I'm sorry" during this whole ordeal. If you can service your vehicle elsewhere.

I have to say I normally do not write reviews. Only if it is either exceptional service or extremely bad or why waste my time. But I will say that working with Richard Norman, here at Tansky Toyota was such a fantastic experience. He was extremely friendly, quick, and helpful with helping me trade in for a new lease. When I set up the appointment to talk with him I just expected to go over all my options and instead he had already took into consideration what I wanted and had most of it ready to go for me so that I was able to walk out of the dealership with my new Toyota, which I am loving. He also got me a fantastic deal so that I was able to upgrade while qualifying for lower payments which is exactly what I wanted. I really did not expect that but was pleasantly surprised and very pleased. I would definitely recommend for anyone I hear looking for a new car and specifically Toyota make to look him up.

Phenomenal experience from start to finish. Billy (salesman) was fantastic. Very personable, knowledgeable, reasonable and no pressure. The finance department (Lisa and Rich) was also top notch. Will be recommending and buying my cars from Tansky in the future.

Terrible service. Had to wait 15 minutes past my appointment time just to check in. it took them 3 hours to do a multi point inspection and reset my service required sign. Next service by sticker had wrong mileage and dates. I had the same service done there that took 45 minutes before. The customer service rep told me I should not have come in busy times and they had to do oil change and bunch of other things. The receipt said otherwise.

This was my first experience buying a car on my own. I shopped around locally and I ended up going back to Tansky Toyota on Sawmill Road because I was so impressed with my first meeting with Richard Norman. He put me at ease right away and actively listened to exactly what I was looking for in a car. I didn't feel an ounce of pressure from him to buy on the spot or for any other reason. He answered all of my questions about not only the vehicle that I came in to look at but, my additional questions about other buying options that I had. He ran numbers for me on all of the models that I wanted to discuss. He gave his opinion on how the different options available would fit into my needs but, he did so without pressuring me in any specific direction. I love my new vehicle and I would absolutely recommend that you buy or lease your next car from Tansky Toyota on Sawmill! I was further impressed by Steven in the finance office. He was very personable and he also educated me on my finance options. He made the paperwork super easy and I was literally in and out in less than an hour when I went back to finalize my purchase! The facility is clean and it is evident that they take pride in their commitment to customer service. The man that I spoke to in the service department was also very friendly and helpful and even though they were quite busy that day, he took time to talk to me about Toyota care and to inform me of my scheduling options for my first service appointment. I will be buying from Tansky Toyota on Sawmill again and I am sending all of my friends and family there too! You won't be disappointed! Super impressed!

Those greeting you in garage can be brisk and abrasive. Just because you don't know the routine for appointments (leave your keys in the vehicle, take any personal belongings, and go to check in) you get attitude. That's not exactly self-explanitory. Especially for first time customers. The attendants at check-in are all click-clacking at their computers. They'll look at you, but won't call you up. Although both men who helped me were kind. Upon arriving home I read the mechanic's comments. They were vague and not helpful.
I set an appointment for an oil change and a couple other things. My service was passable. Haven't decided if I'm willing to go back again.

I m usually hesitant to leave bad reviews but when dealing with a large dealership and having such bad service I felt it worth sharing. Hopefully they make some changes. My husband and I went in knowing exactly the vehicle we wanted to see, an F-150. We dealt with **** (censoring to be kind but I d be willing to share his name with the business so they could speak with him). He was nice albeit disorganized. He said he was relatively new so still learning. He said they aren t commission which I felt was a plus. We looked at the truck, and decided to do a test drive. My husband was the one to do it, and it was a nice ride. Upon return we discussed a few things. One being the fan on the ac/heat in the truck running loudly and we would want that fixed before purchase, and we d like a peek under the bed liner (it was loose and missing screws so wanted to rule out rust) and look at the seat cushions as the coverings were aftermarket and easily removable. **** agreed and said he d email me later with the amount our car would be worth to them as trade in. We also decided the next morning my husband would come up, pick up the truck and take it down to our personal mechanic for a once over. We left, and within a few hours I had an email apologizing but explaining we aren t allowed to have the truck inspected and if we decided to purchase the truck then they would fix the blower in the truck. I was put off at this point not just that we were disallowed to have the vehicle checked but the email was riddled with grammatical errors (threw instead of through, warentee vs warranty). He mentioned something of note though, saying the truck had a 150k mile warranty. This made me rethink my stance in not purchasing it due to the fact the truck had 80k miles and depending on the level of coverage it could be worth buying even without the inspection. I asked for specifics of the warranty in which he replied he d answer the next day while in the office. The following day he sent the Carfax (which I had already seen), an invoice of a few things done to it in December while in their care, and a photo of the paper that hangs on the cars stating it offered a 2000/60 day warranty and additional coverage at an additional cost. When I asked him, he told me he was mistaken, the vehicle didn t offer the 150k warranty. I asked for additional then about the additional extended warranty I could purchase and to see if he had an answer about our car s worth for trade in. He said he would send the information. I waited 3 days with no response to which I emailed asking if he had an answer. It is now one day after that email and still no response. I decided to look on their website to check on the truck and it s gone. I imagine it s sold which would explain why their salesman will no longer make time for me. Obviously it wasn t meant to be. But I was disappointed with the service I received and would not consider using them in the future.

Tansky Service is top notch! I had an issue on a day they didn't have any available appointments, however, they worked my vehicle into their schedule, gave me a loaner, and fixed the issue so I wouldn't have to drive an unsafe vehicle. Great job, Tansky!!

I think something is definitely wrong and fake in theses reviews. Everyone says that Richard Norman is a great salesman. I mean in every single reviews you can find his name. Isn't it just wired? Lots of people are working there and you can just find his name in the reviews!!!! BTW based on reviews we choose him to be our guide for our purchase. He was one of the most pushy and unprofessional salesman whom I have seen in my life. He was really disrespectful and it was very hard for him to share information with us. Everyone else was just fine! We were about to pay $2000 more duo to the lack of information! Management team should take care of him and these fake reviews!

Recently went to Toyota on Sawmill to lease a vehicle. I went to Amel because my husband recently purchased a Camry from her. She was a pleasure to work with. There was no pressure and she listened to my needs. The environment since the remodel was very welcoming as well as all the staff. Sean did his best to work me the best deal possible that fit into my budget. Jim (GM) personally came over multiple times to make sure we were comfortable with the deal. My husband and I took our daughter and dreaded her being bored. They have an awesome toy room that she was happy to play in for hours! I am now the proud owner of a 2014 Camry that I absolutely love. I would highly recommend this dealership to anyone who is looking for great service. You just don't find that anywhere anymore. I read many reviews on how people were not happy with their experience there, I assure you it has changed! Ask for Amel when you go, you will not be disappointed!
