Whenever I come visit my husband in Manhattan we always come to Tallgrass. They have a wonderful selection of food and beverages. They brew their own beer and always have something new. It is a great place to come with your family, friends or even just a date night on the rooftop bar. I highly recommend Tallgrass.

Good food. Great Beer. Pleasant atmosphere. Our bartender was on point with drinks, food, and good conversation. Rooftop bar is a great place to enjoy an evening with friends or have a dinner date. Seasonal beers give the regular selection a nice refresh. The summer Kolsh is my personal favorite.
Different menu with much fewer food offerings. I heard that the place was bought out. It was much quieter and less crowded than usual. Food was still pretty good.
I've been here twice and have been disappointed both times. The food was terrible. My husband got the chicken and biscuit which amounted to 2 chicken nuggets on two tiny biscuits. I had the smoked salmon smear sandwich and the salmon seemed canned. Dry and tasteless. It wasn't like smoked salmon I've had at other places. The Quail came out looking gray and was super salty and dry. We've tried a couple appetizers and other dishes, too. Nothing was any good.
Had the Tap Mac & Fried Cheesecake Eggrolls...didn't get a picture of the cheesecake egg rolls because they looked so great they got devoured right away...they tasted like toaster strudels!
Too bad Tallgrass wasn t here when we lived in Manhattan - else we probably would ve never left! Their beers are outstanding and on point, and go well with their excellent menu. Trust me, you WILL find a great food/beer combo in here, for sure. And the rooftop bar is an added bonus. This place is well worth the trip - even if you re just passing through!
Great selection of beers, super reasonable price (coming from a Coloradoan who pays $8-9 for tap beers) and the staff was friendly and quick. The rooftop patio is a treat!
The food was boshie for a beer brewery. Blue cheese and arugula burger? Garlic pepper fries? Other than the food the beer is ok. Nothing outlandish as far as taste for the beer.
Excellent service and a cool atmosphere. They have lots of experimental beers that you can't get anywhere else. Food menu is a bit limited - bar food orinented. Crav dip is amazing!
Small wait for the number of people we had in our group. The menu selections ranged from light to heavy which was great for our group! Beer & food were delicious! Atmosphere was fun! Great place!
Good steak, good fries, good service and the beer was amazing. Would have gone five stars if my medium rare steak had just a touch of sear instead of looking like it came off a flat top.
My baby girl took me here for Mother s Day. The Mac n cheese was amazing. The arugula was a nice additional as well as the plum tomatoes. My daughter had the wings and a side of fries. She said both were delicious. My husband had the pot pie. The only miss. He said the potatoes and carrots were raw. I d go back for the Mac n cheese in a heart beat. Nice atmosphere. Didn t try the brews because I was driving.
First visit and I want to go back! Very nice selection of fresh beers. Tried 4 varieties and ALL we're good. Food... The menu was creative giving you plenty to chose. I like interesting, unique dishes. They did not disappoint with my selection.
From WI: was in the area for work, and I have always enjoyed Tallgrass beers I bought from back home. Intentionally planned a visit to their Taphouse 15 miles from where I was staying, and was completely worth it. Bartenders were super friendly and provided perfect service; would recognize when our drinks were low and offered another, as well as recommendations. Ask right away if we planned on ordering food, and gave us menus promptly. Ate at the bar, the place is super clean, and the bartenders are super attentive.
My business associate ordered soup and a main course, absolutely loved it. I ordered Fish N Chips, and not only did it taste fantastic, but the portions were big and filled me up. I ordered two 8-Bit taps (my favorite) and bought a stein. My only complaint (voice only on here) is that this place is not located in my hometown.
We loved the food and beers at Tallgrass Tap House. The food was really good. We had the deviled eggs and a we each ordered a sandwich. I highly recommend the squid ink beer, the chocolate and vanilla are so well balanced in this beer. It was worth driving an hour and a half to get there. Looking forward to visiting again.
Friendly service and nice atmosphere, it was our first time eating here and it was so good. When we got home we were already talking about what sounds good to try the next time!! So many yummy options!! Thanks for the good expierence!
Had a wonderful girls night out on the roof top for dinner and drinks after work. Our waiter was great. Drinks were delicious and food was served super speedy! Definitely a new favorite!
Oh man, where to begin? This restaurant is the definition of falling from grace. In the first few months the Taphouse was open, I was a huge fan. Great food, very very very cool interior, awesome layout, good beer, and best of all, the rooftop. The wait staff has always been hit or miss, and I could deal with that because the food and portions were great. Then I noticed a trend, the food portions kept getting smaller and more bland and the wait staff became consistently bad. One time a waitress asked my friend if he wanted change when collecting his bill... I am not happy about writing this review, but I had to say something after the near-dollar menu sized burger I was severed during my most recent (and final) visit. It is clear that the owners have come to rely on the Tallgrass name and have become far too complacent. I'll still buy the beer from stores, but I will get a gas station hot dog for dinner before coming back here ever again. I gave this restaurant 2 stars because despite my complaints, the decor is great, the restaurant is clean, and the drink prices could be worse.
Special rooftop experience with a great mixoligist, Kristen, taste testing the Kristen Kansas Moccasin, K2M. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon. PS the burger is a must and the hats arent too bad either.
This brewpub has the same name of the bankrupt brewery but has been operating independently. Nice interior architecture with positioning of serving tanks and fermenters in view of the customers. Decent variety of dishes on the menu so everyone will find something of interest. Nice ambience and excellent service. Keep it up!
Food and service were absolutely awesome last night! K was our server and was great!! We're visiting kansas from outta state and it was such a great experience tht we're going back again today!!!
We ate at the rooftop bar and the view was amazing, the rooftop has a limited menu though but had the tall grass burger and it was delicious. They got some good mixed drinks also.
We frequent Taphouse regularly and have had many of the items on their menu. They have some of the best wings around (either flavor are good, but the Korean wings are quite unique). The meatloaf is delicious and a good size portion. The fish and chips is good but somewhat of a small portion for the price. They currently have poutine on their app menu and it is quite good. The brat, chicken sandwich and burgers are all good as well.
This place has been open here for several years now, and has even outlived the brewery for which it was named. They have a large selection of beers, although the selection is tilted a little toward trendy sours and high ABV choices. Food has improved considerably over the last while. However I still think some things are over salted (read any fried sides). All in all, Im glad they figured it out and seem to be here in MHK long term. The roof deck is nice, season permitting.
