Its a display of Royalty. A beautiful construction that is mostly converted to a classy hotel and the balance is a museum. There is a segment that displays vintage cars. One should not miss the grand entrance with the helipad in front. However, the richness of the place was in a cheap contrast to the behavior of the guide who was in a hurry to finish the tour, not adding much value in exchange for the tips that was pocketed before the trip started, by demand.
One of the best hotel in the world. Ranks 3rd among the world's best hotel. Belong to the Taj group of Hotels. It is one of the historic palace turned into a luxury hotel. Many of the famous personalities weeding took place in this hotel. Service is quite luxurious over here.

Only 5 rooms for general public..which is a bit underwhelming. Rest is hotel and personal use for king there. The hotel is one of top 10 in the world. That good!

Palace looks great from outside.

For walking guests the staff has a hostile attitude. I asked the durban for the washroom and he showed me the labour toilet and I was told that the lobby toilet was only for inhouse guests. Ridiculous!

Umaid Bhavan is the image of richness in India. Beautiful sandstone palace located in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. The palace complex has a museum, luxury hotel and also houses the current Royal Family of Jodhpur. The road leading to the palace is picturesque and the palace gives you a feel of the richness of the Marwar rulers. The palace complex also has a vintage car collection of the Royal Family with some Rolls-Royce and Cadillac cars, which are still used by the Royal Family.

Visit here only if you are interested in following things:
1. Priyanka Chopra is getting married here
2. You have deep pockets to stay at Taj Vivanta

The Palace is not at all a "historic" building. Built by the king in 1944 by spending 94 lakh rupees

A sensible person may get highly disappointed on looking at the extravagant expenses done by the king when India was under British rule ( the situation of the farmers was miserable and the source of income of "his highness" was the tax to be paid by traders and farmers.)

Be aware, this is not a government monument or building. It's the "personal property" of the king.

Tickets will cost you Rs. 30 per person in case you are an Indian else it will cost Rs. 100. The major things you will see shall include the pictures of the king(s) predominantly the present king and the social work done by them, the gifts presented to the king by britishers etc.

Good
