Beautifully built architecture, one of the newest palaces of India built in 1943. Though not all the palace opened to tourists only a small part they allow, major part of it is hotel and residence of royal family.
But it's worth visiting for it's beautiful symmetrical architecture which is art deco style which is very rare these days.
Loved the place, I recommend everyone to go and visit if you are in Jodhpur

An amazing and beautiful piece of history. It was truly an honour to live the life of a true king and an extremely unique getaway for rich hardworking people who are too caught up in work and the city. Keep in mind that the expensive room can cost around 800,000inr!

Amazing architecture. Entry fee is 30Rs for Indian citizen and 100Rs for foreigners. Tour guides are available but I don't recommend them. Each and every detail of the king/palace is mentioned clearly in English as well as Hindi. Only some part of the palace and museum is open to the visitors. The Royal family lives in one part and most of the palace is converted into a 5 star hotel. There is also a nice collection of vintage cars.

A palace that was built for the welfare of the common people is called the Umaid Bhawan Palace. The most luxurious palace, now a hotel, was built in the princely province of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India by Maharana Umaid Singh in the year 1943.

The story is such that according to an ancestral prophecy, given to the royal family; there will be a famine over the Rathore dynasty. Coincidentally a famine did come and the kingdom was left in tatters. To provide work for the out of work farmers and others, Umaid Singh built this palace. With the architecture of Henry Vaughan Lanchester, the construction of the palace started in 1929 and was complete in 1943. As promised, the king succeeded in giving employment to many of his people. This tale aside the palace is a beauty in itself.

Built in the most arid high place in Jodhpur the palace is the living relic of the land. Constructed with dune colour sandstone really gives the golden touch to this palace. The Beaux or the Indo-Deco Arts Style is used to build this beautiful palace. The Makrana marbles and Burmese teak are used for interior decoration of the palace. The paintings and murals of the palace really bring forth the history of Rajput reign and glory.

The palace has two main wings, one is the royal residence and other is the hotel- the 'Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur'. The owner of the palace is the grandson of the founder, Gaj Singh. For tourist attraction, a museum is also opened alongside the trip of the palace.

The Wedding cost per person in Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace Jodhpur in between 50,000 INR to 1,00,000 INR per night

Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur in Rajasth...

Umaid Bhawan Palace, located in Jodhpur in Rajasthan, India, is one of the world's largest private residences.
History of building the Umaid Bhawan Palace is linked to a curse by a saint who had said that a period of drought will follow the good rule of the Rathore Dynasty. Thus, after the end of about 50-year reign of Pratap Singh, Jodhpur faced a severe drought and famine conditions in the 1920s for a period of three consecutive years. The farmers of the area faced with famine conditions sought the help of the then king Umaid Singh,[3] who was the 37th Rathore ruler of Marwar at Jodhpur,[4] to provide them with some employment so that they could survive the famine conditions. The king, in order to help the farmers, decided to build a lavish palace.

If you want to get the royal feeling, this is the best place for you. Ticket price is just RS 30 and you have the access of museum and vintage cars inside this premise. Museum is well maintained and staff is very supportive. If you are lucky enough then you can get the glimpse of welcome of royal guests arriving to live in the hotel.

Very nice museum. I loved the display of vintage cars. The palace is extremely Grand and has over 340 rooms. Unfortunately, public cannot see the whole expanse of the hotel. a very small portion of the hotel -i.e the museum is open to the public.

Very big and impressive building of the Maharaja Umed Singh. It's difficult to believe that the construction of the grand structure took less than a crore in Indian Rupees in that time. Considering the building is not very old and built during the British era, it is a very reasonable sum. The entry to the palace is restricted for people other than staying and guests who come for dining.

Visited the museum part of the building. Not a must see place. There are some antique items wonderful to see. Varieties of time displays, weather predicting systems, etc. The car museum has a few attractions, but kept inside the rooms with glass panels. The reflections of outside trees made viewing bit difficult.

Best place to see the museum and vintage car collection. Open from 9 am to 5 pm. Private auto are very rarely available so plan your travel accordingly. One can also see the Sunset from this place.

It's a beautiful structure but very little to see. Apart from few rooms there was a car show on display with again less than 10 vintage cars.
You don't have to climb a slope for this like other forts as this is a palace.

This palace is the famous place of Jodhpur. There are several hundred exhibitors in one day. Not just to India but to come here from abroad. It is a historic place where old things are seen here, and many luxury cars of the old time are also seen. The bag is for check and body check and a ticket purchase.
