Loved the architecture and serenity.

Loved the architecture and serenity.
The palace is home to Jodhpur's royal family and a part of it is converted to a lavish hotel.
A very small part of 6 rooms is open to public which majorly contains artifacts.
Entry fee for a Indian national is 30rs.
There is also a collection of vintage cars present. Must visit while in Jodhpur.

Palace with a good museum. There is an excellent vintage car exhibition. The other collections like the clock etc by the raja are ok, but do not tell any thing on indian heritage. If you are interested to have the feel of a posh life and ready to spent money, the hotel here may help. There is good car parking place for Rs 10/-.

One of the most beautiful palace in India. A part of the palace is managed by Taj Hotels. Named after Maharaja Umaid Singh, grandfather of the present owner Gaj Singh of the palace, this palace has 347 rooms and serves as the principal residence of the erstwhile Jodhpur royal family. A part of the palace also houses a museum. Recently, Umaid Bhawan Palace was awarded as the World's best hotel at the Traveller's Choice Award, which was organised by Tripadvisor.

The museum is worth a visit . Please be careful while selecting the place on Google maps . Select umaid bhawan museum if you don't want to stay and only want to visit the palace . The palace is a private property and caters only to people live my there. The museum is open to all . Great location for destination weddings and Ambani style parties .

Constructed for H.H Maharaja Umaid Singh Ji during 1928-1943 in the desert capital of Jodhpur, Umaid Bhawan invites the visitors to admire the verdant beauty and antique collections of ancient era put on display. It is just 1 mile from the railway station and within 4 miles from the main attractions of the city like Jaswant Thada, Mehrangarh Fort and many more. The hotel pampers the guests with traditional spa and beauty treatments. A yoga center, fitness club and tennis courts are rendered. Besides this, visitors can relish Indian, Rajasthani and continental dishes at the restaurant. Indian and international drinks can also be relished at the Trophy Bar.
Wonderful hotel

If you are expecting to see much about the palace or its interior, pls dont go. Normal public is not allowed inside the palace. You are authorised to see only vintage collection of cars, museum only. You can see the palace from outside only.

A look into the Royal Palace.

A look into the Royal Palace.

If you're visiting Jodhpur, this should be at the top of your list and the Mehrangarh Fort after this. The Palace is a look into the Royal lives through the eras and how Jodhpur has grown to become what it is today.

The little cafe outside is a bit expensive, and the store inside too. It's a good place to hangout while you're in Jodhpur.

After some celebrity visits, the hype has gone to...

After some celebrity visits, the hype has gone to their head, it seems. We had stayed at the property in the past and wanted to re live the memories by paying a short visit on our way to airport, we were informed that we would have to pay minimum of 6500+ taxes, which would be adjusted in food bill. We had less than 45 minutes to us, still, for old times sake, we gladly accepted and placed order for few quick dishes assuming that we are spending for the memories not food as no one can eat in 5 or 10 minutes. At last moment, the server informed that we had to spend 6500+ taxes per person not for 4 of us and our order was short by about 28000 rupees and we told him that we could barely justify the short meal, and, we would have loved to stay on had we not have the flight to catch. The attendant called Suryaveer was so nasty that he asked us to pay without any meals and had the audacity to suggest why did we get in. Time was running out and we would have missed the flight. Had it not been the F&B manager who understood the situation and apologized for the immature behavior of his young team member, we would have never been able to resolve the issue
I would say, unless you are willing to yield to the illogical demands of certain members of the property or keep giving in to nonsensical rules and policies, it's a huge let down. The place is good as we had enjoyed during our stay last time, but, not the genuine warmth, they check you out for depth of your pocket and would behave strange if you have any agenda not aligned with theirs, sick
