Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces - Taj Exotica Resort and Spa, Maldives Review

Its assessable by boat. Its a Taj Property so everything is just great about this place. Though they can certainly improve there vegetarian menu if it comes to soups. The views are just awesome. The place also offers a 24/7 library and pool. Water Sports charges were definitely on a higher side which was expected.

Excellent in every way. Truely one of the best holiday experiences ever.

Hospitality at it's best.... Stunning views, scrumptious food, turquoise shallow sea for snorkeling and all the comfort you can think of!

The hotel... amazing.. staff are friendly.. Mr ADI was our personal guide and helper in the hotel... and the food!! Just amazing... but didn't like the lagoon villa pool privacy.. I'd say 50/50 only.. in some spots from the pool is exposed to the walk way and of course the sea side is totally open..

Speacial veg food.......what service given by them when you have child with you vada pav made by chef was too good Bec we are Jain I got very good veg food

Everything is perfect, but the hotel is close to the capital and you can smell the incinerator and the planes that spend about 20 a day above the island destroy the imagination ...

We visited Taj Exotica just as it opened up after the Covid Lockdown and it gave us a great escape after months of staying indoors.

The resort is beautiful and the staff is warm, courteous and professional. They went the extra mile to make sure we were safe, everything is sanitized - even arranged a PCR test for us at the resort itself to minimize exposure.

The staff was exceptional - the butlering team (Honey, Neville, Arif and the rest of the team) were responsive and accomodating; the F&B team (Bilal and team) gave us great food throughout our stay; the reception team (Yuki and team) were welcoming and catered to our every need; while the activities team took us on an exceptional snorkelling experience.

Staff are polite and friendly. Wonderful experience. 25 mins from airport. Food is delicious.Only con is bit expensive

It is the best hotel ever.
The service was blessed with the service of the clear blue sea and polite staff of the Indian Ocean, and it was a great time to relax.
The whole island is this hotel, and there is a place where you can do an aroma massage away from the lodge where you have stayed a little. I did scuba diving for the first time in my life and I felt happy surrounded by colorful fish.
I met at the time of this trip, but some people also have a wedding at this great place.

Amazing hospitality that makes your stay even more enjoyable and memorable

I loved Taj as a brand and had an opportunity just before the lockdown to visit this property. It super close to the airport plus you don t have to take a seaplane to reach the property.

The food here was delicious especially since I love Indian food and they had some fabulous dishes to offer. My favourite activity here was seeing the stingray being fed and of course a snookering.

We booked a overwater villa and it even had a pool in the balcony, a bit too noisy at times as the resort is a bit close to the airport. I loved the bathroom and the window by the pool. The room are surely spacious but needs a updating as the decor looks outdated. The property is quite big and you can walk around especially in the evenings passing under the tree arch giving enough shade and giving a feeling of tranquility.

The resort was really busy and showed how popular it is among the people, another activity I would recommend here is the afternoon tea tradition by the beach.

Absolute paradise. Where to start... booked the Taj as a break for 7 nights before going on to Sri Lanka and could have happily stayed for longer. Welcomed at the airport by the concierge team, who took us to a speed boat where we traveled for 20 mins to the Island (the journey was stunning!).

Welcomed off the boat by bongo players, rose petals, the General Manager, Assistant General Manger, a lady from reservations and our own butler waiting for us in a golf buggy. It wasn't even our honeymoon!

The Island:
It takes about 10/ 15 mins to walk from one end of the island (spa) to the other (restaurant) but there are quiet little golf buggys running the whole time. The island was stunning, it felt like nobody else was there. The beaches were completely clean with beautiful white sand. Each sun lounger on the beach has its own picnic basket was cold water and fresh towels on all beds. All trees, plants, walkways are looked after daily and it shows, everywhere you look is beautiful, it looks like a dream.

Yes it is a beach holiday but we didn't run out of things to do once. There are trips (don't bother with the trip to Male, why leave paradise?) snorkeling, the spa, a swing in the sea, watch a tropical storm from your bath tub with surround sound music!

Accommodation:
Everything was clean, exotic fruit bowl replenished daily, espresso machine in room, fresh orchids in the bathroom, they even treat you to bubble baths with rose petals... amazing. We stayed in a lagoon villa off the island (not a beach suite) The room was perfect, bathroom was huge, with a getty out the back with a ladder that lead into the lagoon. The water is incredibly clear and under the villas are a whole host of beautiful coral and fish - take your breath away stunning.

Service:
Outstanding - about sums it up.

Tips:
- They hire out good quality Snorkel equipment and fins for free that you can keep for the time you're there.
- Snorkel around the island - beautiful colours, stingrays, reef shark, loads of powder-blue surgeon fish.
- Swim/ walk to the lagoon edge. The lagoon (the side of the villas not the beach) at it's highest point was hip height, walk out to the lagoon edge, the reef is amazing.
- Book one of the short trips to the Coral Gardens - simply breath taking everyone needs to see this once in their life!
- The free yoga on the pavilion is a great way to start the day.
- Food is very expensive, book the inclusive deal, where dinner is included, as to pay taxes and service charge on top is really expensive
- Take snacks with you, nuts, crisps, chocolate etc. - with all the snorkeling you'll need it!
- Ladies, everywhere is sand - leave heels at home take wedges!

Great experience with great customer service 50% of the time.

The front office staff (Butler service) were exceptional, they listen to your needs and make you feel at easy throughout your stay they were both friendly and talkative.

However...

The restaurant staff who lacked any customer service ability would often forget your order, have no or little knowledge of their own menu, these things could be looked over if they looked like they actually cared about your experience, they seemed like they had been on the island for far too long and wanted to escape on next available boat.

This was bought to the managements attention who then reacted with a quick and genuine response, we left with huge smiles as they had promised the restaurant staff would be looked at and trained accordingly for future customers, if TAj is able to pull this off I believe they would be at 100% customer satisfaction.

Amazing hotel and island. The staff were brilliant there.

Everything at this resort exceeded expectations. Apart from the natural beauty, the facilities, staff and food were all outstanding. The full board is well worth taking - there are so many options including for vegetarians at every meal. There are always little extras provided like at refreshing drink at the pool or snacks at the bar. The staff are so friendly and genuinely interested in making your stay the best possible. The parasailing was a great experience. Would definitely come again.

Taj Exoticas beach is situated in South Male Atoll and is quite near to the international airport. Because of Taj resorts impeccable hospitality and the breathtaking beauty of this beach, your experience here will be unforgettable. The only downside is that theres no reef around the island and so the snorkeling is bad, and it isnt completely secluded due to the airport nearby.

Nice place in their category and lots of space.....

The staff endeavors to ensure order and cleanliness. And this atmosphere is missing well.

Food Is nice but the resort is directly in flight path to mali airport planes roar overhead every 30 minutes.
Rooms are dated and smallish compared to other resorts I have stayed. Also dredging around island creating new resorts so it's anything but tropical and quiet.
Also and this is by know means the resorts fault at all but my luggage was lost and after letting the resort know haven't haven't had much from them to ease the stress of losing everything, couldn't even give me some sunscreen made me buy it at the overpriced boutique .

Definitely one of the best places I've seen in my life, I was a bit unlucky with the weather, but this place is always magical. Everything perfect and at the highest level, kindness and professionalism on everything. Exquisite food, privacy elevated to the nth degree. Really congratulations

Amazing for 3 to 5 nights max... The best place to relax after a long trip through Serilanka .

Villas, food & activities are extremely expensive, but you will never regret any dollar you spend.

Can t believe it s a year since our trip here. Been meaning to write the review for a while. Here goes..

From the moment you arrive at Taj, you are made to feel special, I loved the welcoming with song and dance, the check in and settling in process was easy enough.. moving toward the villa in the buggy with the view of the entire island and the lagoon ah.. smitten!
The food, Gosh I cannot say enough about it.. though I don t remember the names of most of the things we had coz it s been long enough, but there was a veggie soup - hands down the mostest bestest soup I ve ever had.
They will always entertain all your special requests about food and drink.. make you feel spoilt and never wanting to leave that tiny island.
I was badly sunburnt and they took care of me and helped with medications and steady supply of ice pack to help soothe my burning hands.
I loved the my spa experience too. If you re planninf a holiday here, you have gotta go down for the sunset cruise and to see the dolphins.. it s a humbling experience to be in a tiny boat in the mighty Indian Ocean.
As for me, our stay and my experience
at Taj Exotica Maldives was unparalleled.
This is one place I know I am revisiting soon

Beautiful place. It truly justifies its name.

Food is too good. We ate lebanese, thai, indian, mexican ... Everything was very good. It is a blessing for vegetarians also.

We got a private butler NEVAL from srilanka. he took really good care of us. Made us feel like family.

We tried jet ski, kayaking, fun tube, snorkeling , peddling ... All these were fun but pretty expensive. Although, the fun ,clean water and the beauty justified it.

Submarine ride was a big let down. $195 per person plus taxes. It was a sheer waste of our money. The coral was dead and there were few basic fishes. They just take you 40m deep.

The private dinner organized at the beach was pretty awesome. The whole set up was beautiful. Credit goes to Neval again.

1. Hospitality - was impeccable. The staff would go extra mile to make your stay memorable. Special mentions for Billal( from pool bar), Adi ( general hospitality), Hamid(lifeguard), Hussain, Hamid and others (24Degree) Subhendhu (villa services).
2. Food - was lip smacking. We did not try much other than indian as we both love indian and one would believe Taj's chefs are specialists in that area. And we cant praise more of the food that these guys serve. We did a seafood berbecue on one of the nights
3. The resort and its facilities - This is a Taj property. And they have lived up to their reputations. So full marks on facilities. We stayed in a deluxe pool villa which was great. The white sandy beach and the crystal clear water of lagoon plus the reef on which the resort is which attracts lots of fishes and other marine species is a visual treat.

Super experience, unbelievably service, a special treat

Oh my god, this place is so beautiful. I just had to get a speed boat which is 20 minutes ride from Velana Airport to get in to this beautiful place. I would say this is a luxury type property and best place for pure romance. Huge villas, most villas are with private pools and yet the best place to stay nearby to airport. Their hospitality is unforgettable. Services, personal butler service is top class. Was able to take some snaps even the day was raining but still heavenly. I will recommend this place to my contacts and make them experience the same way I did. Hope to visit again soon. Cheers!

This place is a paradise. Pure bliss with impeccable service. Our Butlers, Mohammed and Shaufa were the loveliest people ever and would definitely ask for them if we came back here.

Not up to the mark , as compare to price feel like 4* property.. Staff is good but food is below average. Need to improve food and property maintenance , there is algae on some of the places.
