My mom come here almost every week for grocery shopping
Spacious, makes one stop shopping easy. Like the bakery with wide choices and the food court.
Love this store! So many interesting products, great selection.
The service was very bad, one of the servers at the fish counter could not speak English, only mandarin. She was not helpful, was almost rude!
I come here all the time to get their food. I ve never had a problem except for today. Wanted to get some of the side dishes and while trying to grab a container, they were all stuck together and ended up falling on the floor of the back of the counter. The ladies in the back saw and one of them came up, started taking very rudely to me in Mandarin (which I don t speak lol). She made annoyed faces and when she noticed that I couldn t understand her she just waved me off and walked away. It was an accident yet she acted like I made the biggest mess ever. Ended up not getting anything.
Freakin awesome!! I'm gonna get so fat working in this area!!!!
Catering to the Asian market this large grocery store is fantastic for all your cooking needs at a some what sensible prices! Great live seafood and take out counters!
It's quite a large T&T, and the selection of buffets and ready-to-eat meals is fairly decent. The sushi is hit-or-miss, though. Best to try it when the store is busy, as it will more likely be fresh, as mine today was. Chopped scallop sushi was quite nicely done, but the California roll was just OK. Not bad, but not great. There is a good sized seating area, too. The rest of the store is typical T&T, so you will find the same grocery items here as at other T&Ts.
Really good selection whether it be produce meat seafood or snacks like dim sum.
Fantastic selection of asian food. $12 for a california roll platter! Can't beat it.
Really Crowded duing COVID 19. Always a little pricey compare to other small Asian markets. However you usually can find what you are looking for. Love their bakery too.
I bought some noodles yesterday . When I buy it , I ask the lady if there's meat in it? She said no ,so I got some . I'm a vegetarian, when I heat up the noodles . I saw two shedded pork in it. Oh my , what am I going to eat. Not very nice lie to your costomer.
They could get sick , when they eat something that they not supposed to. Not very
professional , you supposed to know your product when you sell it.
Later on that day ,I ate some veggies spring rolls. My what luck do I have . Yes there's meat in one of them. OMG I kill my vegetarian for that day . Very very sad.
I will not buy any vegetarian from t and t, ever again.
Good variety and decent prices on Asian products.
I like their deli department too, bubble tea is decent for the price.
Sometimes you find employees who don't speak English but they try to help anyways.
Usually this T&T branch is where me and my family finish the weekend shopping at Metrotown. It's always crowded because it's very popular. The foods are nice and fresh here.
I'm always impressed by the friendly helpful staff at their stores.
They got probably most variety of fish. Fresh meat. Good collection of vegetables early saturday. However, eventually, I find them expensive in comparison to other stores.
get your fix of asian grocery weekly here, they've every food imaginable
Great selection, fresh food and various Asian groceries. Highly recommend the hot food and the fresh fish section.
Shopping every week there, good place for Asian food.
Very busy location. Specializes in Asian products. Subsidiary of Loblaws.
Edit: This was meant for the new Kingsway location at Nanaimo St (not Metrotown). Awesome that they have a Kingsway location but unfortunately it is really cramped compared to the Metrotown location. The aisles are much narrower, and can just fit 2 average sized people side by side. So if someone is looking at an item, it is tight to squeeze by, and it's really annoying with the rolling shopping baskets. Really surprised by the narrow aisles as it is a big chain (usually only see this in family owned groceries). Even outside of the aisles it's much smaller and there isn't much walking space compared to other locations. To be honest the layout / size seems like a bad design as if they didn't have enough space to fit T&T but wanted to make one there anyway and cram it all in.
The bakery section is currently very lacking compared to the other locations. It's missing the sandwiches, and a lot of the Chinese bakery items. So if you are looking to buy baked goods like pineapple bun, bean paste/meat filled buns, etc. you'll have to go to another place for now. Hopefully they will add more to their bakery soon.
Lastly, there is actually a self-serve checkout. Attendants are really attentive and helpful, but seems like they don't like to let you punch in/weigh the grocery? Whenever I held a grocery item in my hand (e.g. bananas), the attendant just rushed over to do it even though I didn't do anything yet. Also the button to enter in the grocery code is right in the middle of the screen but they blank out the name. Not sure why this is. Maybe because self-serve is new at T&T and they're afraid of people punching in the code? I don't know, but it's odd considering every other major grocery store has the buttons for punching in grocery obviously shown, and customers do it themselves. Also, as I mentioned with the small space, there is no designated area for self-serve line-ups, as if they forgot to include the area into their building plan. So if it's super busy, the self-serve check out queue extends into one of the very narrow aisles.
Overall it's convenient to have a T&T here, but some things could be (and could have been) improved to be more in line with the other locations.
I go there to buy lobsters and crabs all the time. Many of stuffs in the shelves were imported from Asia , especially from one of the communist regimes .In my sense, a little specific products are in limbo of the safety and hygienic confidence as the country keeps out from a public scrutiny.
In general, I rate the market a weak pass.
Typical Asian supermarket. It used to be almost exclusively Taiwanese and it was awesome. Now the store has diversified a lot, which is totally understandable. I am just sad that they no longer sell a lot of snacks that I have enjoyed.
Fairly organize aisle, and promotion items can be find in multiple locations. Some staff attitude needs improvement.
Go there every week with my family and spend at least $200 each time. A cashier named Victor is not helpful at all, I have to put most of goods in bag myself while he is standing next to me and just smile.
Decent clean T&T supermarket always stocked and filled with specialty asian products.
Good selection and a lot of things at a good price cheaper than some other food stores in Metrotown. They also sell ready made food and there is access to underground parking right next to the store.
I recently visited this T&T for my weekly groceries and after I paid my bill and walked away, I checked my receipt to find there was 6 items on my bill that I did not buy but were purchased by the girl who checked out before me. When I went back to the cashier, she actually said to me "oh I thought I saw her items were added on your bill too! ok you can just go to the customer service to get your refund." So basically the cashier admitted that it's ok to let a customer pay and leave even though she noticed I paid for items that I didn't buy. Buyers beware - this is how T&T trains their cashiers. Check your bills before you leave!! Chances are they might add some extra items in your bill...
If I need to find international produce this is the place I go to. If it's for an Asian dish they have it, for other cultural dishes its hot or miss, but I have better luck here than at superstore
Excellent selection of grocery products and ready to eat food.
They are open late and on top of it all they always have excellent service and great prices .
Great for Asian foods and produce. They're related to Superstore so you'll find many similar products here.
There's plenty of prepared food, made fresh that day and packaged for easy grab and go meals: Chinese dishes like chili fried fish, fried rice, ginger beef, etc. Sushi and Japanese food and sushi. Dim sum selections like Siu Mai, sticky rice, and sweet sesame red bean balls.
Go near closing time for marked down food and bubble tea.
Convenient place to get Asian groceries. Produce quality and customer service are inconsistent at best.
This is a convenient location and they have a great selection of Asian food. The waiting time to check out is insane on weekends :( (Almost 30 minutes - 1 hour), so I recommend going there on weekdays.
Feeling that the service is getting worse and worse, the staff is not at peace. The Metrotown store is one of the worst supermarkets in the Greater Vancouver area (coquitlam china town, 1st avenue vqncouver). It s basically not like in Canada, like the third-tier cities in China, there is no sense of service, not in line with the world. The attitude of the state-owned enterprise), if you can choose, I will not come again
This T&T has the potential to be so much better than it is now. While they have a good variety of things it think the variety is still kind of lacking especially in the drinks and produce department.
My favorite grocery shopping store I find the prices are cheaper than other grocery stores and you find products you don't find anywhere else.
Sorry to say this but if you are not Chinese you don't get same treat. For example they charge you extra if you need some meat pieces to be cut or sliced when for some Chinese friends is totally free. Sometimes crew, specially those working on specific areas like butchery and fruit/vegetables don't try to talk in English.
Excellent selection here. Sometimes there's a bit of a language barrier between customer and employee, but they still try, and usually get it.
What I like about the store is their rare and exotic products, mainly from Asia. The price however is not that low for such products. What I don't like is that there are usually very crowded and the cashiers work so slow, hard to navigate with stroller, prices for fresh produce are higher than other superstores.
Good Asian market. Lots to choose from for Asian cuisine
great place to have asian foods !! you can find most of asian stuff for your meals from China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Phillipines ...
Great asian supermarket, lots of hard to find Asian grocery items. Fresh meats and seafoods, asian deli with Bbq.
Not bad outta of all the tnt i been to. But some staff members were quite rude or giving attitude to my mom when they were serving her. But my mom just brushed it off....
Better than most of the other t&t. Greater selection of prepared foods.
Good, but make sure you look at everything you buy. Easy to buy the occasional old bit of produce.
Been coming here for years for good quick Oriental food from their hot food section, their 3 day blowout sales are often well worth checking out. Not all employees speak fluent English though, the ones that do wear tags.
My favourite TNT only problem is hard to find parking close by on busy hours
Sometimes long but always fast lines to get into the store because they monitor temps and mask adherence on the way in. Efficient line up assistance and always great food selection. I'll continue feeling confident shopping here.
When I need ingredients to cook my favourite local dishes from back home or craving for some Asian snacks, T&T will never let me down. There's always something that tickle my fancy whenever I'm in there shopping.
Groceries are not as cheap as Superstore but many different kinds of groceries
Very tidy and clean. But prices are not competitive, probably irrelevant if your are shopping for Asian food products.
Crowded with people. Sells expired grocery sometimes. Unfriendly staff. Food poisoning from their hot foods. But the pricing on grocery on sale is pretty good. That's what attracts the crowd.
Old facility with cracked upholstery on seats and dated bathrooms
I have been to the supermarkets in Edmonton, Vancouver. The food and items that the Chinese need are all available.
Always shop at T&T. Lots of Asian food and friendly workers. Highly recommend.
