Sweetwater Sound Review

AMAZING customer service. Rushed my order, got it here before Christmas - didnt charge me extra for it - and kept in touch with me the whole time. Dave, thank you!

For years I received their catalog in the mail. I often peruse their website. I found myself on highway 30 driving by their retail store, so I stopped in. The store was very clean, laid out perfectly, isles were wide and clear, sales staff was eager to help.

The day I visited, there was a family with 3 children also shopping. Each child was relentlessly pounding the snot out of the acoustic pianos. It was very distracting and the echo actually smothered the conversation with the staff and the sounds on the synth I was examining.

I noticed that the guitars and percussion had separate areas where doors could be closed as to not disrupt the rest of the store. I wonder why the pianos were left open for a 'free for all'?

Just food for thought.

I'm going to leave my review at 5 stars, knowing that the store was amazing and the staff was helpful... Not very knowledgeable, but helpful.

I visit Sweetwater a few times a year, and while I especially like coming to Gearfest in the summer, it's always a great stop with just about every piece of music gear you could name plus a handful of recording studios, numerous stages for shows and clinics, and a far more knowledgeable staff than any Guitar Center I've ever been to. Definitely a must-see spot for any musicians visiting Fort Wayne.

After shopping for years online it was great to visit with my whole band. Didn't get a chance to see the whole campus, but picked up plenty of odds and ends and my guitarist got to jam on a half-stack he'd had is eye on. Had the cab shipped to my home in Metro-Detroit, and we only beat it there by a day!

They have been my go to source whenever I need something or recording in their studio.

I love this place. You don't even have to work here, it's just a cool place to hang out, especially if you like music, but even if you're not an affecionado you're gonna find something interesting.

I guess they think of "good customer service" as harassing the customer constantly by phone, mail, and email. You can't place an order with them without getting at least 4 phone calls: "just wanted to let you know we received your order, just wanted to let you know we shipped your order, we see your order was delivered a couple days ago." I order things online so I don't have to deal with the ignorant sales people, but they force themselves on you. I finally told them to take me off all their lists, but they won't listen.

About a month ago I called Sweetwater to find out about Les Pauls. I got a sales rep named Jason and he was the greatest. I asked for a guitar that wouldn't break my bank and wouldn't sound like a 300 dollar guitar. He suggested a 2018 Gibson Les Paul faded. He gave me a great deal on it, I absolutely love the guitar. Definitely recommend Jason Martins and Sweetwater for all musical needs!

OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE! My son wanted a specific guitar for Christmas so I sent an email to Sweetwater to ask about a military discount. I received a phone call from a courteous salesman who made sure that they had exactly what my son was looking for and provided an ample discount & free shipping. The company has a pro quality check and tune the guitar before shipping and sends photographs of the instrument prior to shipping. The guitar arrived in perfect condition and was even pretty much still in tune.
I will choose Sweetwater over Guitar Center from now on because my family has had two very poor customer service interactions with GC Pensacola.

I have been purchasing from Sweetwater for at least 5 years. Their prices are usually competitive but occasionally a bit higher. That being said, I always pay the tiny bit of extra money and believe me, it's not a lot. The personalized service from an assigned rep is crazy good but the quality of tech support is off the charts. They have helped me through a number of serious items and issues with software and hardware, usually under a production deadline and I can't emphasize how important that can be.

I highly recommend giving Sweetwater serious consideration for your purchases. These guys really know their gear and the music business.

Very helpful and kind staff. Very nice environment. I have bought a few things from them and the equipment was all spectacular, only had an issue with a USB port on my piano, but They immediately exchanged my piano free of charge and it's now working flawlessly. They even helped a little with price matching to an extent and threw in a couple items with my purchase.

Sweetwater is like Disneyland for musicians. With everything from an arcade for the kids and Crescendo coffee you won't find this rare gem anywhere else. Their concierge is amazing and so helpful. Staff is beyond friendly and helpful. Prices are incredible and so competitive with other music retailers. Their sales team goes above and beyond with their service and let's not forget every order gets free candy... Love love love this place.

I went to Sweetwater for gear fest. If you are a musician then I recommend going to gear con. As far as them as a store I have no idea but they seemed professional.

Very nice. I only knew them from the internet, but accidentally drove past them while on a road trip and stopped in. Great vibe. Now I understand better why they are such a great company.

Went online to order a pedal they had a special on. Been dealing a lot with American Musical when it comes to ordering online. Never once have i had a problem ordering with 3 pay payment plans through them. Decided to give Sweetwater a try as they had a pedal i have been looking at. Placed order for the 3 pay plan, 8 hours later they call and say i do not qualify for the payment plan and canceled my order. What a way to gain new customers aye.. I will stick to American Musical for all my gear purchases. Lesson learned.

I absolutely understand things might take a little longer because of COVID -19. However, I ve been waiting over 2 months for one item. The first time I ordered from there I was somewhat satisfied, but this is ridiculous. I m very disappointed because I have music to make. I won t be ordering anything else anytime soon

Amazing store. Large selection from beginners equipment to professional. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. They don't try to sell you equipment you don't need. Highly recommend.

To top it all off, they treat their employees to the best of everything including a two story slide for their employees and guests fun.

As a new Ukulele player I accidentally bought the wrong strings for myself, I called Sweetwater to ask about the different types of Uke strings and what I was looking for. The sales engineer Mike, walked me through the types of strings and which strings will work best for me. He was very helpful and has the new set of strings being sent out to me. I highly recommend them! They're knowledgeable, helpful, and professional.

The customer service is remarkable. Small item ordered, however, the concern from Tyler that all was correct wasn't expected. It seemed as though there wasn't a bias as to the item purchased, but only as to having great service no matter the cost. Sweeeeet!

Sweetwater's prices are generally competitive and if you purchase in store so they don't have ship your item they will often times discount it. The staff is unbelievably friendly and helpful, unlike any other store I've been in. You really get the feeling they like what they do and they like helping customers.

The facilities are pretty neat with a cafe, performance theaters, arcade and more. They also offer some free and paid workshops and concerts.

It's really cool to visit a brick and mortar store that has most things in stock and you can walk out with it that day. Of coarse it helps they're also a big mail order business and have some huge warehouses on site.

I can't recommend them enough and I'll definitely be back for more.

Sweetwater's Gearfest has a little bit of everything or anything for the music lover/musician.

Sweetwater reminds me of this massive music store which we used to have in NYC when I was growing up. They have everything and typically have the best prices. Their staff doesn't just understand the instruments, they also know how to play them. I've not seen as great a music shop since Sweetwater.

When it comes to a place to get musical instruments in Fort Wayne, or even northern Indiana, I would say this place is a rather safe bet. Upon walking in you are kindly greeted. When looking around at instruments employees ask if you need help. They don't constantly pester you but they are there if you need them. Prices are pretty decent as well might I add. All in all this place is a bundle of great things wrapped up in one amazing package!

As others have said, they take every order seriously, whether you re ordering a single cable or a $1000 guitar amp.

Went for a Comedy Show benefiting Cancer Services. Awesome facility, immaculate, bright, helpful staff. The auditorium was roomy, comfortable and the acoustics were great! The backdrop seems like it'd inspire hopeful entertainers. Really great to see such a facility right here in Fort Wayne.

As a trumpet player, I was mildly disappointed in the lack of brass, but I'm also used to it. But, holy cow! This was my first time there. It's not a store. It's an experience. So much to do and see. The arcade was fun. Got to drop on the the Old Crown Brass Band recording in the auditorium there. It looks like they have practice studios and lessons and everything. Very cool.

Recently made my first Sweetwater purchase, and I couldn't be happier with the experience I had. The sales person was very helpful, and the product (a guitar) came exactly as advertised. I liked being able to choose the exact guitar I wanted too. I'll definitely be making more purchases from here and be recommending it to other musicians.
