The No Frill Grill in Virginia Beach, Va has your Grass Monkey on tap. Tasty brew!
Overall cool spot, was not crowded when I visited (Friday around 2:30pm)
Ordered food and then sat at the bar. The service is tremendously slow. The bar tenders hang out with the regulars / their friends and do not help... It took 5 bartenders to walk by my empty glass at the bar with me seeking eye contact to order another drink.
Warm and friendly staff, cool updated space and a fantastic variety of beers! I have my "go to beers" but my new favorite is the Sinner' s Son Barrel Aged Imperial Stout. It's like drinking coffee/chocolatey candy. Amazing!
Picked up some swag and beer and they were kind enough to box it all up for me to safely take it back with me.on the plane
I love Sweetwater! It's one of my favorite Atlanta beers. Wednesdays are cask night and usually they have live music on Saturdays. Bring your dog to play on the patio! They run several tours of the brewery throughout their open period. Bring cash for tips!
Great beer and a great tour! It's kinda out of the way and hard to get to but worth it.
Great IPA wanted to try it out but the places close so early. Not what iam use to. Maybe next time
This place has a great atmosphere and the owner is such a down to earth guy! Will be returning! Thanks Freddy for a great place to hang!
A fun and entertaining place to visit! A must for beer lovers living in or visiting Atlanta.
Great venue, amazing beer, killer staff. Venue parking is very limited and definitely a challenge.
Great tour!! Great place and some really great beer!! Worth the $10. We had a blast. Highly recommend. When we come back to town we will definitely do again.
The woodland tour us 10x better than the basic your !! Hands down and we are not from Georgia
Awesome place to come- great staff! Wonderful environment!
Fun and friendly place. Tasty cold beer and lots of place to mingle. The tour is about 15 minutes long and to the point.
Nothing like visiting from out of town just to be told they were out of many of their brews. They had no stouts/porters available on tap...absolutely zero. Stick with the smaller microbreweries around Atlanta...better choice and better beer. If you like 420 IPAs or sours they had some of those. The 420 IPA is decent however, I can get it in any liquor store. I was excited to finally try this place and was left disappointed.
Great food atmosphere, and space and of course awesome Beer
The very first brewery I ever visited before breweries were a thing! Definitely add this place to your list of breweries to check out. Sweetwater 420 is my favorite.
I arrived ugly and left a beautiful man. Thank you sweet water for gracing me with your liquid candy.
Go to woodlands it's great and nice way to get more information than you get on the normal tour.
Great area for grabbing some drinks with friends and getting a tour. $10 for six beer "flights" (they're big ones) and a great open environment make this spot a winner
The absolute best brewery. 420 is my all time favorite beer. The only bad thing about them is you can t get the beer countrywide.
This place is awesome!! The beer is excellent and so is the tour. You absolutely have to visit
What a fun place! Mark behind the bar made our experience to SweetWater so much fun! Take his recommendations. He'll pair the perfect beer to your taste. Also, I highly recommend the SweetWater Cobb Salad! Loved the bar, great place for watching the game too!
Awesome place. It can get packed, upstairs is great!
We re From Houston and it was our first time in Atlanta, we heard about Sweetwater Brewery but all of the recommendations and reviews we saw/heard did not do justice to how amazing and friendly the service, atmosphere and beers actually were. We walked in and met Matt who helped out whole group with beer suggestions. We then took the tour and Matt was more than happy to oblige and take us on what I personally thought was the best beer tour I have taken yet. Also fun fact incase Matt is reading this, I m the Prohibition guy lol. Long story short, amazing beer, great food and amazing hosts. What more can anyone ask for?! In summary, definitely visit Sweetwater Brewery if you are visiting Atlanta and and Absolutely ask for Matt, guaranteed great time!
I m not a beer enthusiast, but it s still a fun outing when you have a collection of friends and/or dogs accompany you. Friendly people throughout, and you get to keep a glass :)
I would like to give this place a good review but since I never got in I cannot. My friends and I called this place the day of to find out about their tours. They said they were open until 4:30 and get there earlier if you want to park in their lot. We showed up at 3:30, found a place to park in their parking lot. As we walked up to the doors an employee with a sign shouted at us and told us they were at max capacity and not letting anymore people in. We like other people that kept coming in and being told the same thing were not happy. We sat in the parking lot a little while and watched people leave the brewery. I've been to a lot of breweries across the country and never once have I seen this happen. If this is their policy that is find but then they should have told us this on the phone. We were visiting Atlanta from DC so this was a huge disappointment for us. A pity since their beer is probably very good.
AWESOME! You will wait in a very long line for like an hour if you go during the peak season, but after the wait you get to drink some amazing cold beers at a really cool brewing facility with friends. Worth it.
Always good to come back here. Today is the first time I ve been here since they have opened the new tap room. They are now able to offer 24 beers on tap from the brewery, hatchery and woodlands selections. Their menu looks amazing and can not wait to try it! Would recommend getting a sampler of a few beers and finding what you like! Cheers
Friday and Saturday "brewery tours" are superb: great spot to hang out, dog watch, and listen to music. The SweetWater beer offerings are not my favorite but they do throw a great party. Classic beers include the 420 and the IPA.
Matt did a great tour... His 400th, booya! We had a nice time for sure.
Well unfortunately I wasn't able to try any beers here b/c they don't serve beer anymore. Came in from out of state to check this place out an couldn't even get a beer. Pretty lame. They should be a little more clear on the website that they are no longer allowing people to sit at the bar an try beer. Georgia is lame
Great beers and people and food and they're open early! Whoopee
OK, I love Sweetwater's IPA & I've been drinking IPAs for over 30 years & brewing them for over 20.
That said, the tours are a "booze cruise" so they can serve alcohol at the brewery, probably to get around some local laws. The "Tour" was great value - 6 half- glasses for $8...but most people only drank and did not go on the tour.
The gal hosting the tour lacked basic knowledge about beer making & did not even know what "trub" was....
So, go to see the brewery and drink some excellent ale, but the tour is worthless beyond extremely basic knowledge
New taproom is excellent. Lots on tap >30 and a better than average bar food menu. Sores open to the outside. Great on a gorgeous Atlanta day.
YOU HAVE TO GO HERE! Their new food is amazing and it s just good vibes all around. They always have great beer selections and fun games to play outside. You can make new friends here or just come with your group. Either way, it s a good time!
A good time was had by all. Good food, good drink, nice people. Good party venue.
I love this beer so much and love going to the brewery
I started going there in April this year... and still going and still loving..
I tasted three types of beer, but lamia's favorite is "triple ale tropical ..". The visit to the production and bottling plant was interesting, but our guide spoke quickly, by heart, so the communication was poor.
Visiting from the Richmond VA area that is loaded with craft breweries, this was a very cool spot to hang out and have a few beers on a Sunday afternoon. We had just had brunch so we didn't get any food, but there was a wide variety of beers to try so everyone should be able to find something they like. The vibe of the place was very laid back and the bartenders were friendly. A little off the main drag but worth a visit if you're a craft beer fan.
Nice place with an interesting tour of the brewing facility. They give 3 samples during the tour. The bottling only runs on the week days.
This afternoon a few friends and I went on the first High Grav Tour and had a blast! I ve been on plenty of brewery tours around the country, but never one I enjoyed as much as this one. During this hour and a half long tour, they take you to the every nook and cranny of the facility and cover anything you would like to know about SweetWater and how they make their beer. Matt, our tour guide, was so fun and very knowledgeable! He s eager to answer any questions you throw at him so bring them all! For anyone who loves SweetWater or just wants to learn more about brewing beer, this tour is for you! And of course, they make sure your cup never runs dry plenty of amazing beer to sip as you walk, laugh, and learn. Highly recommend!
The renovation is awesome. Taproom and food have both taken a major step forward, and beer is always some of the best in the state.
Never a white burger before, even at White Castle. (Airport , terminal B)
Great place to chill and relax, drinking some amazing beer and really great food.
Amazing place. Great beer, food and service. A must see when in Atlanta.
I ordered the SweetWater Big Green Egg Tie Dye Thermometer and am VERY happy with it! About to fire up the Egg, It s time to smoke! #420 #BGE
Had a great time sampling the beer @ the Carmel, IN Vine & Table. Great sales rep and awesome beer!!
Had the chicken tacos which were excellent, coming from a brew house, and the beer was right on average for craft quality.
Came from out of town and wanted to visit this brewery since I enjoy their beers. Drove an hour through traffic only to be turned away for a private event. They could at least advertised on Google that they were closed. They should have a designated area open to the public even if they host private events. Fail.
Ended up here after many of the dining options around midtown had long waits. Pleasantly surprised to see this place at 70% capacity on a Wednesday night. Great beer options for a great price. Also they had their new seltzer available before it s gone out to market which was a nice sneak preview. For food, I went with the Korean BBQ philly, it was incredible. Staff was great as well, felt so very welcome at this brewery.
Such a nice place to grab a beer and eat something
Really good vibe
Great brewery, but with all the additional space they have if you have little ones beware!! There are no changing tables. My wife had to change my son on the bathroom floor, because they didn't have a changing table and she didn't want to change my son with a full diaper where people are eating food, so new parents beware, I have been to smaller breweries that have them, so it really amazes me that this huge brewery didn't have one.
Lively environment, friendly bartenders, and affordable, awesome beer.
The tour and the beer was an excellent way to enjoy a sunny afternoon.
They don t make a huge variety of beers but what they do they do well. The beers from The Woodlands Project are all worth trying. They need a better system for pouring flights.
Really enjoyed the vibe there. Our bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers. The food was beyond incredible. My wife and I shared the Korean bbq philly. It was so good I have not stopped thinking about it. The fries are amazing as well. If you plan to do the tour have shoes. For obvious reasons you can't go I to the plant with open toed shoes. I will definitely being going to sweetwater more often.
Good beer, but gets way too crowded and cramped sometimes.
Love this place. Great bar scene in Atlanta if you are looking for a Thursday evening or Friday evening activity. Also great place to rent out for parties. Does it get better than a cool brewery, especially one that makes tasty beer?
Had a tour with Nick and loved it! He was so was knowledgeable of the ins and outs of the brewing process and company, definitely will return!
Great wedding for Travis and Sara! Loved the venue and staff and brewery tour
My husband and I went for the first time tonight. The beer deal is great. Pay $12 bucks for six beers and you get a glass as well.
People are friendly and the beer is always that special sweet h20
Awesome variety of IPAs but far and away my favorite is Sweetwater's 420 Strain. They have many delightful varieties sure to please even the pickest and most diverse palettes of beer conissuers. It is also convenient that you can sample their creations in a variety pack available at most local grocery stores. The only flavor I don't like by Sweetwater is called Peach Love and Happiness. Confused by the title I anticipated a mellow and sweet flavor but was startled by the bitterness. Still quite interesting with true hints of peach, but just a bit sharp for my taste. Sweetwater is consistently my "go-to" variety pack choice for home based soirees.
Beer tasted fine but instantly have everyone a headache and kinda ruined it all.
Can't beat this deal! Just be sure to get there early and bring cash!
It's pretty good not my favorite, but i don't like to many georgia beers
