So far our experience with this company has been filled with LIES...we ordered our counters through the Home Depot and SC lost our order so we never received a call to measure until we called after a week or so of wating. Then they let us know that they couldn't come measure until 2 weeks. I called another local counter top company and asked when we could have counters installed and they said within 7-10 days. My husband called SC back and told them if they couldnt measure and get our counters within that same time frame we would be going with a different company because we have baby number 4 due any day as well as brand new kitchen with NO counter tops. After weeks of calling each day for a status update we finally called and talked to the manager and she said that they are booked for the whole month of nov and dec would be the earliest we could have them installed!! She said no one had noted our account about our situation which was disappointing too. I wish they would have not LIED in the beginning because we could have gone with a different company and had counters by the time the baby arrived. I am really shocked that the Home Depot outsources their business to this company. Very disappointed and now waiting until December for counters...

So this guy quoted me a little under $5,000 (I repeat: $5,000!!!) for peacock green granite. I guess he figured I was too dumb to have done any price shopping prior to meeting with him, because the other four quotes I've gotten for the same thing were all somewhere between $2,016 and $2,600. I distinctly remembered seeing the price per square foot in Home Depot and doing the math, and coming out to something closer to $2,800 (which included installation), but he insisted I was wrong ("not a group A, he said; it's a group D.") I asked him to send me the quote via e-mail, which he never did, probably because he (correctly) assumed I'd go straight to Home Depot and inform them that their contractors are all con artists. I'll do so anyway, with or without the quote from him. HD should know how much business they're losing out on on account of a guy with an earring living in his alternative reality, where granite apparently sells for more than twice what it's actually worth.

I was "extremely satisfied" with the professional installation and workmanship of the two installers Cory & Yemi who were also concerned after the install that I was happy with the out come. I also want to thank Lana who coordinated this job start to finish, she was always available with all my questions. Great team work, all three of them. Thank you all !!

This is a tough review to write because the sales process was very good. We ignored a small scuff on one of the counter tops because we are generally not that picky. An electrical chord under the island was left unattached and we could no longer close the cabinet drawer.

We would not write this review except after multiple attempts to get Steve to fix the problem, he essentially told us to go away.

Steve the sales guy is nice, Steve the guy without commitment to the end product was not much fun.

We were connected to this company through Home Depot. We are working on a complaint with Home Depot as well but I thought I should give potential customers a heads up.

Horrible is an understatement. I will never use them again. They were contracted through Home Depot to redo my counter tops and back splash. They completed the counter tops in one visit but have been back now 4 times to do the full height back splash. They have mis-cut the material not once, but 2 times,, had to reschedule for the next week (4 weeks now into this nightmare project and they are still not completed), they come out don't bring the correct part, the installers are horribly late always. This has been the absolute worst home project I've had due to the incompetent people at Surface Crafters. If you contract through HomeDepot or Lowes ask who the contractor is and if it's Surface Crafters, go elsewhere or you'll regret it. Giving them one start is very generous, only have to give them one star so I can post this review. I am actually thinking about legal action against them if they do not complete the project now and it's not done correctly. To make matters more complicated they upgraded their phones and it's making it difficult to contact them. This is all with Surface Crafters at Holly Hill, FL.

Terrible customer service!! Underestimated square footage by 7 sq feet and at $68 a sq foot, that's a pricey mistake. They also scheduled a 1-4pm window for installation only to call and say they'd be there at 5pm as they were running behind. When I asked about compensating me for the time I had to take off work, they told me to take it up with Home Depot, because they obviously don't care.

The customer service was terrible and Stuart is completely unprofessional and incompetent, when he said he could take care of me when I went to the office to pick out my granite for my house. My contractor and I had to keep calling him about an order on the granite that I wanted installed and he kept dodging both our calls. I would suggest that you go anywhere, but here.

Be sure to insist on confirmation of where your countertop seams will be, or they will take the liberty of placing them wherever they see fit. Very unprofessional experience with Stewart Layman and his manager Randy, who do not respond to emails or phone calls. This company fulfills many Home Depot orders and does not care about individual jobs. There are many quality fabricators in the area who want your business - look elsewhere.

We used surface crafters (through Home Depot) when we renovated our kitchen last year. While the entire process (demo, construction, new cabinets and floors) went about as smooth as I could have hoped for, Surface Crafters and our counter installation was about as frustrating and of a process as I've ever had to deal with.

Not only was the process delayed, but they managed to measure out the dimensions wrong. Twice. They asked for more money after the installation was already delayed by an additional 10 days, and never even finished caulking the back of the countertop once they installed it (they caulked maybe 2ft for some reason and just left the remaining undone). They told us that they couldn't miter cut the waterfall portion of the countertop due to the material, but I've since seen our exact countertop material mitered in a family member's home.
