I have been a resident of Weekapaug for the past 36 years and am completely disgusted with the extremely poor service and rude staff at the Weekapaug Inn. Prior to our going there for dinner, we called to see if we could make a reservation, to which we were informed no, it is first come first serve . We arrived early due to the advice we were given and were able to get tables on the upper deck. Interestingly enough we were ignored for 45+ minutes. We called the waiter over to tell him we were ready to place drink orders and would like highchairs, he disappeared and did not return. The matrie d came over nearing an hour and told us that the table was reserved and we would need to move, to which we informed him we were told they do not take reservations so how was that possible. He claimed he would find us a nice spot to have dinner. He scurried off and when located places our family (with 4 children) in the lobby, seated in rocking chairs with no tables, telling us we can order food there. I have never been more disgusted! We were ignored in hopes we would leave, when we did not leave we were placed in a spot they thought would surely force us to leave. When we confronted him again asking how we were supposed to "dine" in the lobby and eat with no table, he had nothing to say and would not make eye contact. Their goal was achieved, we will not be back and would not waste a penny on a place like this. It is very sad, as Weekapaug is a family friendly place, the Weekapaug Inn however is not family friendly or friendly in general.

Since I live one mile from the Weekapaug Inn I was looking forward to dining and entertaining friends and family. The food is horrible, the service is poor. We waited two hours for lunch, which was barely eatable. Thankfully after a few cocktails we could enjoy The beautiful surroundings. The staff is cold, arrogant, unfriendly and seem to be put out that you re there. Perhaps staying there is better, but don t waste your time or money on any meal there. Although the ocean house is not as quaint, the entire staff is welcoming and gracious and food far superior. I ll drive the extra few miles for a much more welcoming place and their food this year is delicious!!

Went here this Saturday before Easter thinking we would have a nice drink at the bar before dinner that evening. Service was terrible. The place is extremely mismanaged, staff is poorly trained, and menu items are overpriced for the quality and the service.
After sitting down at the bar, that can seat no more than 5 people, and waiting for 10 minutes we decided that the bartender (Elizabeth) staring at us in the face was not going to do anything. We asked for a menu which caused her to disappear for another 20 minutes. At this point I don't know why we didn't leave since it had been 30 minutes and we couldn't even get a drink order in. The place was not crowed at all and they had 3 bartenders behind the bar. Finally, after asking if we could order, the bartender starts to make our drinks, two white wines and a Manhattan. She sets two wine glasses down without anything in them and then proceeds to take another man's order. She makes his drink and takes his food order then just disappears. After another 5 minutes a waitress comes back and proceeds to finish making our order. 40 minutes in and we finally have our drinks only to realize their portion sizes are basically tastings. When we asked if this was correct since the glass had maybe a mouthful in it, the waitress (Jennifer) gave us a snarky, condescending response of "that's a typical 5 ounce pour". By the fact that she eyeballed it when she poured it, the glass was no where near 5 ounces. So at $12 a glass it was definitely a waste of money, not even good wine. Waiting 40 minutes for 5 ounces of overpriced wine served to you by rude waitstaff just doesn't seem worth it. Needless to say, due to the poor service and quality of goods we will not be back.

Food was pretty good not necessarily great but I say that in backdrop of Ocean House. I probably would come here for drinks but food left something to be desired. Perhaps it was the date itself.

At $650/night we had no refrigerator nor microwave first of all. Our flat screen TV was maybe 29" at best.
We asked where the ice machine was and staff member had no idea.
Srated for all you can eat Lobster buffet. They were very chinch on serving lobster at $75/person plus charging your credit card in advance for that also.

Truly an excellent inn. We love the "barefoot elegance" appeal. Always tons of activities available to keep entertained and make many fond memories. We absolutely recommend that anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing get away should look no further than the weekapaug inn.

Love this location even in the winter. Luxurious and upscale. In the summer it is busy but fun. Right next to the beach and always has something available. Staff is friendly and very accommodating.

You definitely feel like royalty when you are here.

We have loved going to the Inn since it opened few years back. Our stays have been marvelous and we have felt at home. our last visit was to the Restaurant, which we had previously very much enjoyed. This past Friday night we were sorely disappointed in the evening. Ordering from the menu all four of us, myself, husband and two invited guests had the same reaction. Our dinners arrived and we could barely see them on the plate, more sauce than content. My monk fish entree, the fish smaller than a quarter and potato the size of a minature tootsie roll!!!!! Need I say more?!!
I was not about to confront the very novice waitress for fear she may cry.she was very timid Nor was I to confront the young man in charge since he was dealing with numerous complaints from other dinners. the room was 25% capacity so any conversation was being overheard.
I loved that fact that we had found a place to envite friends after a long trip up to our little treasure by the sea......................it is my sincere hope that this is addressed. Dining should be a cherished experience,,,,not an embarassment. Dr and Mrs R

Unparalleled service, gourmet food, and beautiful new england views make this high end inn really stand out above all others. Gilda really made our experience feel personal and excelled at taking care of our needs. I could not recommend this place enough.

We drove all the way from North West corner of Connecticut. Made reservations. Web site bragged about their breakfast and all the options. We came for the cannoli filled French Toast. We called and spoke with them directly and no one said it was just a small buffet.

It was a very small buffet with very little offerings...we should have left at that moment but we didn't. That was my fault!

Felt like I was at the Hampton inn morning buffet.

.... Actually I have had better buffets at the local Hampton Inn.

The Weekapaug Inn charged $40 a head for nothing...

Crappy power eggs, wilted waffles, Burnt potatoes, no toast.
Nice boxed cereals though and it is sad when oatmeal is the best thing about your breakfast

Nice views and service was ok.

Excellent venue for viewing the super moon. Afterwards we had drinks in the lovely lobby bar. Shout out to our wonderful server Marrisa. The elegant laid back atmosphere makes the Weekapaug Inn a delight. Real wood burning fire places add a homey touch.

Everything perfect. Excellent staff, very friendly and accommodating. Rooms and property beautiful. Very relaxed atmosphere. We did a beach walk with naturalist which was very interesting. They have bikes you can borrow and in summer time kayaks. Restaurant is great as well and reasonably priced. Will definitely return when I am in neighborhood.

Oh boy. I am not a big fan of luxury hotels, I generally find them suffocating and a bit dull. This place is a noted exception. Such warm and welcoming staff, a beautiful setting along the water, showcasing the very best of New England seaside. Aside from the staff being friendly, the other guests were incredibly nice too, every seemed to be sharing this uncommon experience of outstanding hospitality. I also appreciated the diversity - a much more interesting crowd than the usual airbrushed refugees from Pottery Barn. Highly recommended.

Horrible, horrible, horrible went to the lobster boil at the Weekapaug Inn on July 9th 2020. No real appetizers to speak of a cup of soup and a roll. There were four of us at the table. For the vegetables they brought out one ear of corn cut in four pieces asparagus a couple pieces each no seconds of anything. One lobster each, my lobster was rotten so they replaced it with another lobster it was also rotten and so they replaced it again it was also rotten. I did not eat lobster that night. Usually its all the lobster you can eat. Not this night just one each. Their explanation was they have no control over their lobster supplier. I wonder how long the lobsters were dead for? Never again!!

Our dining experience at the Weekapaug Inn was one of the WORST dining experiences ever. Friends had given us a generous gift certificate and we were looking forward to going there to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were seated and enjoying a cocktail, the waitress came over and asked us if we were ready to order. We told her we wanted to wait a few moments. Five minutes later she arrived again and we told her we weren't ready to order yet & barely reviewed the menu. Then the maitre d came over and coerced us into ordering dinner. Dinner was ok. When the check came we put down our gift certificate (which was for $500) with the bill-the manager came over and questioned us as to the validity of the gift certificate, when it was purchased (which was last year), who purchased it, etc. This took about 30 minutes and was very embarrassing-not a good way to spend what should have been a beautiful evening.
This is the first review I have ever written about a restaurant.

Professional, friendly service and an amazing meal. We haven't been to the Inn for some time but decided to go recently for dinner. We had a beautiful, comfortable table against the window and were treated to a wonderful, inventive meal. We will return more often!

Went to lobster boil on August 8, 2019. Our experience was terrible, where do I begin. Went to get a glass of wine and what they served was not drinkable, only two choices. So unfortunately that set the mood. We went to the bar to order a wine and we were greeted by a very unfriendly bartender. Standing with a friend he charged my account with her wine without asking if I m was paying for both. She asked how much the wine cost to repay me and he turned around and stated I don t know you have to wait. The real kicker is that he overcharged me. Went back a few days later and talked to assistant manager and gave him a copy of the charge, as of today have not heard anything. If it was a few dollars I would chalk it up, but it was more. Next we asked for more lobsters for our table; were told we had to wait since a table came in after 8:00 pm and they haven t had any, if they limited the amount of lobsters you could have that would of been fine, but they don t, at this point I had only one. The service was slow and they never came to clear your plates, we were even agreeable to clearing our table if they told us where we could put the dishes. For $85 plus tax and gratuity, per person, and sister property of ocean house, I was expecting a little better night than what we experienced.

The stay at the Weekapaug Inn exceeded our expectations. The staff provided exceptional service and consistently "went the extra mile" making our quick-get-away truly an enjoyable experience and now a fond memory. The accommodations were impeccable as well were the grounds, and common areas of dining and relaxing. Did I mention the great service staff?

Location, Location, Location. The Searoom at the Weekapaug Inn overlooks the grounds of the inn and a large pond. I ordered the burger and it was wonderful. Two in my party ordered the Lobster Roll and were disappointed. The Cobb salad was also good but could do with a little more Chicken.

Stuffy crowd, expensive, bit of a musty smell. Got pea soup was delicious but they served about a thimble full of soup for $16.. With many great options near by we will pass this place over in the future.

This was our third time here. Food was awesome. Servings very small but taste fantastic. Service was terrible though--put a real damper on the entire evening. Probably will not go back.

Pricey, but worth it. Although this place costs twice as much as I ever thought I'd spend on a hotel room, there is a lot included. These include stocked bar in the room, use of kayaks, bikes and SUP, use of a BMW 5 or 7 series, shuttle service between properties and to local destination. Plus there is no tipping.
