Amazing little gem, friendly staff, clean rooms, albeit if you want a view it must be 4th floor but 10 minutes from Aghia Sofia and Blue Mosque. Staying here now and could not be happier!

The accommodation was amazing. Despite Corona and the few guests 7 people, the hotel staff went out of their way to offer the best. The breakfast buffet was really delicious. Sauna / SPA was a great place to come down. We would love to come back. Place to be!
Female staff serving breakfast and super breakfast to friends against the sea. Thanks Sunlight hotel
Top,top.Awesome rooms, food and service it's the highest level.
Convenient location and proximity to the tram stop. Nearby there is a supermarket with bargain prices. Luxurious view from the top restaurant. Very friendly staff.
Just because of the very friendly staff I will rate them with 5 starts! Location is very good, few minutes far away from the tram station, even to walk around the hotel you can find plenty shops and restaurants
Room smaller than the one we had been promised. Large bathroom by cons, almost the same size as the bedroom. Wardrobe without shelves, and little storage space. Bed just relaxing, pillows not comfortable at all.
Rich breakfast.
Big trouble, especially if you have a stroller, there is a significant slope to go to take the tram, not enough sidewalks, and many cars.
Nice area, near supermarkets, restaurants, monuments are not far either.
Photos and reality are very different. My room was on the 1st floor, right next to the stairs, the audibility was terrible, dirty and dusty. No coffee maker, no cup, no spoon, everything that is stated on the booking is not. Breakfast is disgusting, coffee tastes like puddle water. For the illusion of beauty, I put 3 with a stretch. They could at least wipe the dust before moving in. Perhaps rooms on the 5th - 4th floor and breakfast, outside the covid is better. But I'm not very good.
The bathroom was tikaliydi sayiledi bisi did not clean the room did not want water in the bathroom a warm cold water can not be washed room small room, small room love no problem card room locks have more security here some hotels do not have a good place to work in the morning staff have no information about the morning breakfast have not eaten more ikal
Unforgettable welcome and all you need for a wonderful stay in Istanbul.
The location is good, but there is a parking problem, it is not preferred if you will come by car. The rooms are not bad but the bouquet materials are negligible (from shoe wiper to ear litter or from the simplest hotel extensions to the price list) breakfast is poor but ok Cleaning is not bad. The staff is friendly but the prices are higher than the quality.
Nice, but I asked for a double bed and I got one with two singles, the reception was not the best, but everything else is perfect
Rooms are good, modern air conditioning. Unfortunately the doors of the shower were kind of broken. Service was excellent. The breakfast was decent but nothing special. A big minus has been, that the glass bottles of juice and milk were not clean at all. It was really disgusting. And the milk tasted very nasty.
Perfect Location! All places are so close to the hotel at a walking distance , Grand Bazaar Blue mosque, Haiga Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Suleymaniye Mosque plus the metro tram stations. The hotel staff is very friendly and welcoming, specially Umut the front desk manager. You can always ask him for help and he will assist you in any way. You won't regret staying here. It's clean and they clean the rooms and change the towels daily. One thing you should do is take the universal phone charger with you. I have put the picture of plug so that you can see.
The hotel's own cafeteria is a plus for relaxation. There is also a bath. Accommodation center where you can be satisfied with friendly staff
Beautiful, cozy hotel with great view. Staff very nice, polite and helpfull.
Good food amazing view and really cool smart rooms I love it!
Convenient location! All attractions are within walking distance. Everything is clear. Great shower. Not premium, but not very bad!
A good hotel but very boring to stay where the room is in a bad place. A lot of cars and smells with fuel and with carbon dioxide. Do not recommend for families with children
good hotel for it's price, nice personal, clean rooms with cleaning on daily basis, great view from 6th floor where you will see sea and enjoy you breakfast
Good hotel, excellent staff and close to everything
I visited Istanbul in late June 2013.I spent 11 night at the hotel sun light'I paid 35 per night .S clean.Helpful staff. But the manager of the hotel he has ever to offer a free night is well damaged.
The room was extremely small, you literally can t dry up inside the toilet. The lights in toilet didn t work, they fixed it but it still was very dark. The shower door doesn t close properly. The bedroom had no bin. The fridge didn t work. Some cushions had dirt on them. The wardrobe was very tiny you can t hang your longer clothes in. breakfast was not ready at 7:35 and we were told that the buffet will open at 7:30. Reception was okay they provided good information. The location was in poor area but close from the old city. The room and the breakfast lounge had sea view. The cost is very affordable.
Nice hotel, beautiful view from room on 5th floor, and also cool view on breakfast, a little boring breakfast, juice not tasty, but price for hotel also not expensive. Service was super cool, guys on reception helped us a lot, recommended places, ordered taxi etc. also Sultanahmet historical area, a not noisy, mosques near the hotel, 10 minutes on foot and a lot of really nice places for food.
Dirt and disruption - all that is in this hotel now. Breakfast is nothing with margarine, the Internet is bad. This is not a hotel, it is some kind of dock for the homeless.
Nice people, nice breakfast. Excellent location and reasonable price. Room needs update.
Beautiful hotel with excellent service. Receptionist Kerim is a super star, polite , knowledgeable and keen to help. He made our one week stay perfect. I would definitely go back to that hotel.
Not to mention the excellent location, bedroom quality and price.
Traveled from london. We accidentally booked a horrible hotel just across the street. So we checked in at sunlight hotel. Friendly staff, always smiling, positive body language. One of the best breakfast buffet we ve had with a sea view. The room is comfortable with tinted windows, had a good sleep with air con on all night fully functional.
Needs improvement - house keeping, their was no toilet tissue, and room isn t really that big so we struggled to pray our salah. I would return.
Good hotel at a perfect location. All the highlights of Istanbul are within a few minutes walking distance. This also means that the hotel is located at a busy street, which you might find annoying, but finding a quiet place in the city center of Istanbul is impossible anyway. Rooms are good, enough space and clean. The staff is friendly and helpful, but most of the people don't speak English. Breakfast is far from great, but it will do.
I would highly recommend a nice decent hotel with a very friendly and very clean landscape great
Pro: The hotel is located in the central area, close to tourist and shopping areas (about 8 minutes on foot).
Behind the hotel are shoe shop areas where traditional meals can be eaten.
The view from the top terrace of the hotel is superb.
Nice clean hotel within walking distance to Sultanahmet. The hotel, which has been serving for many years, has begun to renovate thanks to its experienced manager (Alp Tanriverdi) and its service quality has increased. Would definitely recommend. Staff friendly, solution oriented. Wifi is fast and does not break. Rooms are clean. The price was reasonable.
The hotel is located in the old area with quick access to landmarks and bazaar. Also provide parking spaces. The restaurant's terrace provides a beautiful landscape. Breakfast should be improved because the dishes are not of good quality. Juices are bad, Parizer and sausages with sauce and french fries at breakfast do not really go.
Kalina knows that hygiene is a place that gives the customer satisfaction
Nice affordable and clean hotel. You can easily walk to the historic peninsula in a central location. I advise.
I was very pleased. Everything was clean and tidy. The staff were very hospitable and helped us a lot to find the way to the museums. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to Sultanahmet Mosque and in the evening the road is a bit intimidating. But in the hotel you feel safe.
The rooms are average, there is not much choice for breakfast. Sauna very dirty.
A very decent hotel. Staff is friendly, breakfast is good. My room also had a view of the Bosphorus, which was a nice bonus
Location located in the historical center very close to the tourist objectives and the means of transport. 5 star staff. The hotel is clean, the towels are changed daily and the bathroom is washed. Traditional breakfast. Dream terrace. recommend
It is located in Sultanahmet, about 100 meters away (ascent or descent depends) from the Cemberlitas tram stop.
The reception was good, the room, to be a triple, was small; the beds were good and the conditioner silent. Breakfast on the terrace with beautiful Bosphorus views, good and varied, a few sweets. Additional bonus, at checkout we paid in euros with a credit card, which is not obvious in Turkey, without any commission.
I would stay there again
The hotel is very nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful
FEMALE TRAVELERS AVOID! PLEASE READ
The upsides of this hotel is that they have pretty comfortable, nice, air-conditioned rooms, even though they are tiny. This is the only nice thing that can be said about this hotel.
Now the downsides. For starters, the rooms are never cleaned or replenished, and it is in a very bad neighborhood, we were told not to walk in most directions at night. It is also very far from public transportation and taxis cannot reach it. There is literally nothing to eat in the all-inclusive breakfast, which consists mostly of stale bread, chucks that resemble uncooked meat, and some old cheese.
The biggest problem with the hotel is the rapey staff. My friends there, young women in their twenties, and found the staff being very friendly to them, giving them tea and beer at the cafe and wanting to chat. Bad idea. One night the staff member got my friend alone and pushed her into a corner and groped her among other things. Traumatizing experience for her and very bad experience for the rest of us. Please keep clear for your own good and safety.
I had a 10 day stay in this hotel last year (July 2019): I went with the daughter to a friend (17 years old and me 26), we had a reservation problem as soon as we arrived at midnight, we were exhausted and the reception agent gives us a room with a double bed even though we had reserved 2 single beds, I had insisted with E-booking for the beds and he had even called the hotel to have 2 single beds before my departure, imagine the surprise on my arrival after a long trip! The agent told us to spend a few days with a double bed and then we will be provided with another room. We spent 3 nights in the first room which was small but fine with a large bathroom however the bathroom smelled of damp. After insisting we were able to change rooms with 2 single beds, decent room, fairly clean and larger than the first but mini bathroom, my mattress was not comfortable at all because the springs were sticking out.
For me the worst was the 2 reception agents were very welcoming at the beginning and then they were less and less, especially one of them was mainly cold on the day of our departure at 7 am. morning, we were so happy to leave this hotel. Reception is the basis, bad reception = bad stay.
On the plus side, the housekeeper was super nice, helpful, dedicated and welcoming. Beautiful terrace where you take your fairly generous breakfast :).
A young girl working on the terrace of the hotel where we had our breakfast was also very welcoming and smiling, even the day we left by passing her downstairs (she was more polite than the agents who manage them customers) by greeting us and wishing us a safe journey. Fairly beautiful hotel (corridors ...) modern and fairly clean. Well located, especially the first room with a view of the small mosque and call to prayer <3. It's a shame because the welcome really ruined everything for me, otherwise I will have kept very good memories. So this hotel may be fine for a short stay but for my part I will not be going back.
Highly recommend! Great reception, helpful staff. Clean and cozy room .. Wonderful view.
Reserved 3 months ago a stay of 5 days. Less than 24 h before check in I received an email of cancellation. They claimed that my credit card was invalid and that they have tried twice to get money out of it, even though the payment was fixed by Booking at the checkin. I spoke at the hotel and they said "Come tomorrow and we ll get you a room at the cost we ll have tomorrow; we wont accept anything else". I tried to tell them there is no proof of their attempt to get money of my card (I used Revolut at the booking) and exactly the same I said to a lady from customer service at Booking. Although she even spoke to the manager of the hotel he rejected (even if my card is valid) to accept my booking.
It is clear that the probably wanted to get the most out of my pocket, seeing that I had booked at a super price months before. SIMPLY THIEVES !!!!
It was nice, only spent a night but the room was clean, the staff was nice
This is not a hotel for couples or family This is for traders
Fair, isolated restaurant and payment not included with the room
Very clean rooms, well maintained, some lights missing but the small balcony outright everything.friendly staff.
The staff are friendly, the hotel is excellent with everything they offer to help you if you ask even irrelevant question and they offer cay coffee
The hotel is round driven. Room terrasse everything super. Terrace is dream with sea view. Breakfast was delicious with a lot of choice. Personnel segr friendly. Centrally located. No taxi needed.
We used this hotel for 3 nights, we were very satisfied with everything, clean, breakfast every palate was tasted as tadina, the staff were always kind and friendly. It is easy to reach anywhere close to the Sultanahmet, Kapalicarsi, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace and Basilica Palace. What more should I say to everyone, the number 5 yildiz ...
We had a great time, excellent hotel accommodation which is located 400 m. from the main attractions of Istanbul, the blue mosque, Saint Sofia, the cistern, etc.
Excellent breakfast. Staff were helpful and friendly. Cleaning at the top. I highly recommend.
Very good.a little more sweet at breakfast for Europeans
Everything is appreciated for the hotel, it is very clean, which is really important, the staff is kind, breakfast is also very good with a beautiful view. All sights close to 15 to 20 min walk. Definitive recommendation.
Stayed for a day, I liked everything. Especially breakfast overlooking the sea
Good location close to markets, good service and great reception by hotel staff
Great location, quite normal breakfasts, great staff.
Nice, clean and warm room! Price really worth it! Nice view from the roof top
In the center, walk to the main sights.General breakfast, terrace on the 6th floor offers a superb panorama.Practice and very kindness. We did not feel great! Thank you Sunlight Hotel!
sultan ahmetin the most beautiful vr comfortable hotels, especially the interest of the staff and cleanliness of everything we were very satisfied with hygiene ..
The rooms are clean and nickel I have nothing to say
Booked this hotel but when I arrived to check in at approx 9pm they apparently did not have my booking, stating they'd cancelled it and they had no rooms available! I had my confirmation email showing that I had made the booking through their own website. The receptionist rang a hotel close by but I'd to pay a higher price to stay. As it was late at night and I didn't know the city I'd not much choice but to pay the higher price for the different hotel.
Amazing it was very good and had advanced technology great staff who gave us everything we wanted. Amazing view from rooftop
