Sunlight hotel and restaurant Review

Ambience was good. Room was clean but little bit small. Bathroom was very small. Manager Karim is very nice. Hotel rooftop view is very beautiful.
Overall good experience

Friendly stuff and very close to the grand bazaar.
However, it's located on a main road that's very noisy and breakfast is not the best I've had in Istanbul. Still, good value for if staying for an extended period of time.

It is a failed hotel and has a spacious living area
It is not free parking, difficult to reach and the area is scary at night, the rooms are not adding, the air conditioning is bad, and the hotel pictures are not tempting you after the renovation and the staff are bad in their treatment
It does not fit the Gulf people

Very Comfortable place to stay in Sultanehmet. Hotel Staff is so kind & cordial. Breakfast served on roof top with magnificient sea view in lovely ambiance. You may forget how much you take.. I prefer to stay here time & again.

First of all, I want to tell those who read the comments and you can definitely come to this hotel with all your eyes closed. I tell you this with all sincerity.
As the hotel staff, you can feel sincere and warm with the people you love the most.
I did not meet the working friends here at the hotel, I feel like I have known them for years.
I would like to thank the dear people who made us feel at home in these 6 days. I did not feel so comfortable even at my father's house.

There are many steep slopes from the train to the hotel.
However, the hotel people are kind and will guide you to sightseeing spots and tours when you arrive.

I have a bad experience regarding booking even if I didnt visited yet but Iam regretful because I booked with them.
First I booked refundable but they didnt agreed to refund for me when I tried to cancel booking and even when I tried to change dates they disagreed and wanted me to pay more money and Iam only trying to change dates because I have a serious problem..so now Iam so worried of their service because I didnt try them.yet. but it is shown .That customer service is so bad and they lie alot .

Had a great time at Sunlight hotel. All of the employees were very generous and polite. The room was super clean and nice. Breakfast was good with an amazing view. WiFi was also surprisingly good. I totally recommend it.

Room ok quite clean, breakfast the same for 4 days (just enough nothing special) friendly staff.

The dirty toilet, full of urine even on the coil, the elevator does not work, the partitions are paper, you can only whisper, the very kind staff urge you to go to another hotel if you do not like it. My advice is to bypass him.

Stayed 4 nights in July 2019.
Because there are supermarket and restaurant in the outskirts, it is quite convenient location.
The hotel staff were all nice and helpful (it was ok to ask for luggage storage after checkout).
We were able to use wi-fi without problems.
I could eat breakfast on the rooftop with a good view, but the menu was a little different every day and I never got bored and the taste was good.
Classic sights such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia are also nearby.
This is a recommended hotel for those who want to stay at a reasonable price near the old town but the hostel is not good.

It is one of the nice places to stay. The rooms are clean. There is a varied terrace for breakfast. They help in the price. We liked.

Very unfriendly staff to the rooms were very very dirty and the bathroom with black mold, breakfast is the nightmare very hygienic, who wants to be sick can go there, so I could not stay here after 2 days.

Very nice hotel, excellent service and reasonable prices

The rooms are dirty and far too small, everything is a huge construction site, although the hotel has actually been in operation for years. There is no WiFi in the rooms, only in the lobby. Other things often don't work either, such as the elevator. Then you can walk down the dust-covered stairs that are never cleaned. You slip up there. Breakfast is a joke. There is practically nothing. The staff practically speak no English.

Truely a good place to stay.... Price is not bad at all.... Yes certainly some renovation need to be done...... Staff at the reception is very good and friendly.... Breakfast not to my liking.... Maybe because I'm a south african Indian and not what I would eat..... Well sometimes you got to make the best of you have all in all it was good

The only problem is the combination of the bathroom vr toilet. It could have been wide, but it wasn't wide, so I took a shower.

Hotel Sunlight, Istanbul.
I chose this hotel according to two criteria: Distance to the main Sultanahmet square and price. My choice did not disappoint me. Rooms overlooking the Bosphorus are equipped with a standard set - air conditioning, TV, refrigerator, hairdryer. The number seemed to me small. But a small emergency happened - the lock in the front door broke. Hotel staff responded quickly. Within 5 minutes, the breakdown was not resolved and I was offered a different room, also with a view of the Bosphorus. Helped to move things and apologized for the inconvenience. The second number was bigger. On the roof there is a terrace where you can sit and order coffee from the bar. The restaurant is located in the lower floor. Breakfast was standard European. Communicating with compatriots living in other hotels, I concluded that in many hotels there are panoramic restaurants on the roof or at least an observation deck. Wi-Fi is free. At the reception you can book any tour or buy a ticket to one of the many evening performances in Istanbul.

The hotel is in a great location which means that all sights are on 15-20 minutes of easy walking. The rooms are not very large but clean and quite ok for the money we paid. Breakfast is a swedish table served on the terrace of the hotel that overlooks the open sea and the Bosphorus Canal. Parking is free, in front of the hotel on the street and the places are reserved for the hotel. Very nice impressions and every recommendation ...

Best is the service and the location. I think it is not always so cheap but we paid for a double room 5 nights at the end of August 280 . Breakfast incl.

You often get tea here and we even got breakfast on the day of arrival. The front desk is very friendly, carries your luggage and is ready to help you anytime. We were also provided with information on where to go and what is good in Istanbul. For street food was a street further came even a staff with.

But why I give it "only" 4 stars is due to the fact that the shower door was broken or warped so that they could not even completely close closed or that, for example, the bedside lamp was not screwed tight. The bathroom is very spacious, there is a large safe in which a laptop space has. We would have on request even a sea view room, however, since the view schonmal not as good as on the terrace and it was not so big. Since I prefer to go regularly to the terrace where I have good Wi-Fi and sockets. Here I also just wrote this review.

What a rotten hotel .. indicated on arrival that we do not want cleaning ladies !! Finally I am taking a nap and suddenly a cleaning lady comes in !!! First and last time booked !!

staff outstanding. location excellent. WiFi is OK. Rooms are a little smaller but the best money can buy. If you need anything ask for it. Perfect place for the money charged

The best thing about this hotel is its location, it is very close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, you can easily walk to the Galata Bridge in 10 minutes, and there are many restaurants and bars in the area. Otherwise just correct, the room a little small and was not cleaned every day, the breakfast quite well, except for the ants that ran at ease between some buffet dishes, even so, the location, the views of lanceraza where We had breakfast and the price makes up for a lot of things and we left happy.

Beautiful and well decorated rooms ,very clean most of them with great sea view. The staff very friendly and available to help you whatever information you need. Value for money!!
