We just celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary at Sundance on Jan. 24, 2018. It's a very special place for us since we were married in one of your cottages, before a blazing fire with cowboy boots on under my dress. Only us, the justice of the peace and a couple of witnesses! So intimate, romantic and memorable. We love this stunningly beautiful, quaint and rustic resort.
Heaven on earth! The service, food, amenities and people are as good as it gets! Will always be back for more!

Everything about Sundance is first rate. From being greeted at the registration upon arrival to check out the staff is attentive but not intrusive. The accommodations are excellent and the food (we ate at the tree room) is perfectly prepared and plated. We opted for the package which included the chair lift which is a wonderful ride.

albeit on the expensive side it is worth the extra money for that special occasion (it was our anniversary).

Good resort, but I would not ever recommend you go here if you are an advanced skier or boarder. Loaded with guests that have no understanding of mountain etiquette or awareness. You'll be dodging snobby rich skiers and kids that stop anywhere they please on the mountain. Definitely don't visit during the film festival as well.

Great skiing fir a pretty good price. Not very family friend ly. I don't like parking in the upper parking g lot with little kids. And you have to hike uphill to get to the tow rope which is stupid. But otherwise for adults it's awesome.

What's not to adore about this place?? The setting is mystical, the service is terrific and the accommodations are the perfect blend of comfortable and rustic. Not fussy or fancy but still first class. Genuinely a lovely experience.

I have to start saying that this is a resort that my family and I have frequented for years. That being said, I truly believe that this resort in particular has really gone down hill (pun intended).

Here are the biggest parts of why Sundance has failed to impress.

Parking: We get it, it's growing. But the parking is ridiculous! When they direct you to the top part of parking, there isn't nearly enough room to ensure that people can park safely! There is a "skiers crossing" where cars have to wait as skiers cross. It seems like an extremely dangerous situation that Sundance overlooked in order to stuff a few more people in the resort.

Ski School: When I first took ski lessons, I LOVED ski school. The instructors were always younger college students that went above and beyond. However, my husband just took a lesson there, and it was quite a different experience. Pretty sure that the instructor had been doing drugs right before the lesson. She was gruff and did nothing to ensure that my husband's experience was enjoyable.

Season Passes: Looking for the worst part of Sundance? This is it. For a line of 6 people, it took them over an hour to get everything for people to print off their passes. There were over 5 employees stuck in a small room, and they couldn't get anything done. Pretty sure that all of the employees were hired because of their good looks--none of them knew what they were doing, and it felt like it was their first day on the job. This was extremely frustrating, especially for the individuals who had purchased everything and simply needed to get a pass printed out. They are so inefficient that they accused us of owning them $35. They checked their records again, and it ended up that they OWED US money. Their whole system is run on paper, which is probably a reason for their inefficiency.

Food: The food at Sundance is truly exceptional (I'm not talking about the cafes, or lunch places--those places are $8 burned hot dogs and $4 cups of watery hot chocolate), if you are lucky enough to enjoy food from the Tree House restaurant; do it! It is one of the few things about Sundance that I would go back for.

Overall, you get what you pay for at Sundance. It's a small resort that is literally bursting at the seems.

Sundance has really been a great place to visit of the years. I love the location and the facilities. The Ski lifts can get slightly crowded on holidays but I have never felt like there are too many people. Plenty of lifts to keep you busy for a day.

This is a quaint little resort but still has enough acreage to give you a fun day exploring the mountain. The grounds are beautiful and the visitors and staff are laid back enough you'd hardly notice celebrities blending in. Food prices are on the high side, even for a ski resort, but the lift tickets are reasonable.

The property is beyond beautiful! My husband and I spent our anniversary here. The restaurants have great food. The service (at the restaurants, front desk, all over) was spotty. Sometimes great! Sometimes leaving a lot to be desired. Also lame: Utah liquor laws.

However! We WILL be back. We'd love to visit in the winter. The zip tour is a must-do, if you're there in the summer. We'll just BYOB next time!

My new favorite place to ride! The season wasn't as long as other resorts last year, but it was the best in my opinion. Not as crowded as others, less expensive, and still a decent amount of trails. You can't really beat Snowbird or a Park City, but it beats the problem of too many other riders/skiers. Plus, it's beautiful and the cabin at the top is an awesome resting spot!

My family enjoyed our day trip to Sundance Mountain Resort. We were very impressed with the resort and all it features. The staff was very nice and very personable. We enjoyed the deli and their coffee, made my day even better to walk around with a nice warm cup of coffee. We had a great time walking around and loved the little waterfalls. We will definitely be back for another trip.

We went in the Barclaw zip tour and it was AMAZING! One of the coolest things we've ever done. The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. The views were spectacular. I can't wait to come back and do it again!.

***Summer review*** To start off, you now have to pay to just use the trails. Didn t want lift access, bike up bike down and you have to pay. Second the staff is very uneducated on the trails. I called their number located on their website and ended up getting the operator. She couldn t inform me if the trails were open or not and couldn t tell me what the weather was like. I was concerned because from where I was in the valley, it looked like it was pouring up there but thought I d call just to see. Once I got up there the parking attendant didn t even know you could ride these trails without using the lift. I rode up to the top and felt lost, only person I found were two zip line attendants napping on the landing. They suggested a way for me to go get to Rays summit (I was where rays lift drops off in the back mountain), which ended up being way too step and loose rock to ride and took me to hiking only trails which weren t designed to be ridden on. Lastly, the signage. Down toward the bottom everything is marked wonderful and clearly. But the further up you get, the less clearly marked all the roads and trails are marked. And the map on their website SUCKS. I ended up using google maps more to figure out where I was and where I was going or wanted to go. I gave it two stars because I ll be back. It s a great place to ride whether your using the lift or riding up. My review rating is so low because you re basically on your own and having to pay to not use their equipment when it comes to riding Sundance in the summer time.

Fun
