Really cool place the girls who work there really make it a fun experience.
Very interesting. I learned a lot about Memphis' role in the history of music.
Friendly staff, horrible parking LOL. Glad we stopped.
Visiting sun studios is a must for any true music fan. The tour guide is the best that I've ever seen, he has a passion for his work. I hope to return some day!
No over hype and kept in near original condition. Awesome.
Well worth the visit. A history of Rock and how the dynamics started and played out.
Legendary recording studio, awesome atmosphere. Our tour guide was awesome, enthusiastic, and very informative.
3rd time here always e enjoy and learn so much info....don't miss it....Rock and Roll started at Sun!!!!!!
Super welcome. Presentation by a very nice Brazilian. To do.
Loved this place , very friendly staff so interesting .
When you know the place where Elvis Presley, the King, record your first vinyl and after soon, your first hit is amazing for music's lovers. The energy in the air is incredibly unique. For comum people, that don't understand the importance of know this place to understand the music modern, I have hope that the energy of Sun Studio change this situation.
Another peice of Memphis heritage. come see where Rock and roll was born. So much history in such a small place is amazing. Our guide was great, very knowledgeable and yet entertaining at the same time. Seeing where it all happened was great.
Nice stop at the studio. Took the tour. It was fun and entertaining. Our guide was a blast! Knowledgeable of the happenings of the era to current and overall represented very well with some comedy. Only two areas to the tour, upstairs is the small "museum" area. Downstairs is the recording studio. With many original items. The studio is still used currently to record artists.
Took tour of Sun Studio in Memphis, Tennessee. Recommended by another woman who said she was "meh" about rock 'n' roll, to which I agreed. But she said it was great and I again agree fully! Greater appreciation of the music and starving artist concept and recommend tour. Hard to find! Trust your GPS.
If you're a baby boomer or love the Baby Boomers Music you will definitely enjoy this wonderful spot of Music heaven. Lots of information plenty of pictures and you even get to see the X where Elvis stood when he recorded his first record. Very exciting.
One of the best things to see. Don't let the size fool you, it is packed with music history!
Outstanding tour of the birthplace of rock and roll
This place was amazing and the staff was excellent. The tour was well worth every penny if you are a fan of music history.
My favourite Elvis singles, Moonlight Swim & Slicing Sand from the Blue Hawii album, I played the LP that many times, it just about got worn out !
An eye opening experience and great way to learn about early recording techniques and budding performers that would become worldwide stars. Highly recommended for all music aficionados.
Lydia did an amazing job with the tour! Vast knowledge of the history and an amazing experience!
A must see. Take the tour. Prepare to be blown away.
Don't be swayed by those who have little knowledge and appreciation for history! - - - This is an AMAZING place and changed the way music is played around the world!! The shadow of influence by the muscicians who started in this little studio, and those GREATS who still record in the studio is to be cherished! This was my second trip from Houston Texas to see SUN studio.
Every King was once a commoner, sun studio is where he metamorphasized into rock royalty. A must visit if you're in Memphis.
Was very interesting and the guide was very knowledgeable
Amazing history. Lana was our tour guide and she made the history come alive.
A must, guide was Amazing with his knowledge and energy
Such a fun stop! A cozy cafe & legendary studio - full of iconic momentous from America's cultural history. Definitely worth a stop when in Memphis.
WOW!!! What a history of music. Definitely take the tour.
Music History and must see. Stand exactly where some of the greatest stood and actually recorded.
The famous Sun Studio, Memphis, Tennessee, where many of the legendary rock and roll, blues, R&B, and country music stars recorded.
Among the renowned artists recording here were Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Charlie Rich, Jerry Lee Lewis, B.B. King and Howlin' Wolf. Also home to Sun Records, the studio was opened by Sam Phillips in 1950. Many consider it to be the birthplace of Rock and Roll.
Great place to learn about the beginning of Rock &Roll in Memphis.
Super cool place! I came all the way from Southern California
Fun ,educational and very entertaining. Great value for the money.
Equipped to her, but so fabulous to be able to see we're such a movement started. Our tour guide was awesome! And His Radio voice made it all the more engaging
The tour guide was fabulous! She made history come alive. The place is tiny but the tour itself was informative!
Many of the reviews said this was just as cool as Graceland if not cooler... idk about that but certainly a lot of history. The tours could be smaller certainly tight... many people suggested we go there so we went, if you are someone who finds joy in standing in the same spot where many great artists recorded many great records you will enjoy it... I personally enjoyed Graceland more, way more to see but if you don't have 1/2 day to spend at Graceland then yeah go see...
Amazing experience. Fun, historic and educational. My was moved so much that she cried. (Though that might be the pregnancy hormones )
Horny studios, in the footsteps of Elvis, unfortunately some Johnny Cash goes under, but otherwise a wonderful experience!
An impressive spot of you love music, authentic the guides are terrific, learned a lot of the the rock and roll origins, they have a lot of cool recording machines, pictures, DJ booth, and the recording room is legendary. A lot of famous people recorded here. You have to see it of you like music.
AWESOME! You get to take pictures with the.microphone that Elvis and alot of others who recorded at Sun Studio used.I loved seeing all the instruments and history! Great Tour Guide! And...they have a free shuttle available to take you to Graceland and Beale Street!
Best tour in Memphis. Amazing to step foot in the same place that so many legends have!
Experience the thrill of how rock and roll got started !
Great history. Staff up beat and knowledgeable. Fun!
Great experience, very informative guide on history and beginnings of Sun records and artists
Tour guide was amazing! Def worth a visit, some incredible historic gems!
Wonderful tour with a lot of history. Tours were every 30 minutes and lasted about 45-an hour. The guides were very helpful and you could purchase items/food while you waited. Its also in a very cool part of town.
If you want to see where Rock N Roll started, this is the place to go. They also have some good root beer and soda! They offer guided tours, which are not expensive and I recommend doing the tour as you get to see all the exhibits as well as see some original records and machines Sam Phillips used to bring some of the most important music stars in history.
You can also buy some records here, but they are a little pricey.
The other absolutely amazing piece of history in Memphis. So much to see and learn there, plus the tour guide was just absolutely awesome!!! Don t miss this if your in the area
Very cool thing to do when in town. If you're a big elvis fan you'll enjoy it.
Totally worth the tour! So many interesting details we never would have sought out, and a very knowledgeable guide. Stopping here breathed meaning into Memphis for us, and. I would recommend it to anyone driving through.
