It was amazing to be able to stand in the same place where so many music greats stood and recorded music I have listen to and loved my entire life.
The tour guide was fantastic and did an amazing job imparting the history of the studio, the artists and the music.
I got goosebumps listening to Johnny Cash's music in the room where he recorded it years before. It was amazing.
Loved it here full of the history of where Rock n Roll started
I liked it. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely some neat Americana.
A little pricey, but the tour was great. Jason the tour guide, a musician himself, is by far one of the most animated people I have met. His over the top presentation, knowledge, and passion, accompanied by incredible memorabilia, and the history of the building makes you feel like you were there in the early fifties with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, and the gang. This is a must for any music lover.
Really enjoyed seeing the studio. Very good tour guide. Part of the tour was upstairs (19 stairs). It was the original old building. I use a walker but still very glad I went.
Passionate, friendly staff, great tour 14 dollars every half past the hour til 5.30pm. Great photo ops and selection of merch!
Wow, the history is undeniable you can feel the spirits in this place, no joke!
This was a lot of fun! Great history and the tour guide was amazing!
Was definitely the highlight of my trip to Tennessee (although the whole trip was fantastic). The tour guide (Graham) was great! Knew the history and was great to talk to. The whole staff was very nice. Definitely will be back here as soon as I can! Could not recommend this place more!
Such a cool place to visit for a little music history! Short, informative tour for a reasonable price. It even kept the attention of my two teenaged boys! Sun Studio also houses an old-fashioned soda fountain that serves root beer floats and the like. Fit it into your schedule when visiting Memphis; you won't regret it.
Awesome tour guide, Jane supplied a wealth of knowledge of decades of information. Great up beat attitude and made everyone feel welcomed from all ages.
This is a MUST see! Our tour guide the jack black look alike is fantastic!
Great place to hear about the birth of rock n roll!
Lots of history and the guided tour was good. The tour guide made an unnecessary comment about asking for our kids (they were over 5 years of age) to be quiet mid tour and to take them to the cafe if we wanted. The kids were not being disruptive but I think she was making a preemptive comment on it. They should be taking steps to engage younger kids to the studio. Average age of the other people on our tour was over 50+. This place will be forgotten in the next 10 years if they don't.
Knowledgeable tour guide in a place that oozes history of early rock and roll.
I ALWAYS go to Sun when I'm in Memphis! So much history and of course Elvis. I'm a HUGE FAN!!!
It's a very very small place of music history. Get there early to see everything!
Very interesting history of rock and roll. This is also still a working studio so you can see where music history is made.
AMAZING!!!! Tour was great and our tour guide made the experience perfect. I think we spent hours here just appreciating everything. A MUST when in Memphis.
Place is so cool and you get to touch the real microphone that elvis, johnny cash and jerry lee lewis, etc have used
You have to go for the history of the place. Our guide was exuberant and knowledgeable. It is great to see in person.
Fabulous to see the place where so many great artists recorded.
Didn't really intend to visit here but called in after Graceland. Had a soft drink in utterly cool diner part, succumbed to tour, loved every second. Don't miss it.
Fantastic tour, great atmosphere and wonderful history. Tour guide was great.
Best place in the world. The birthplace of Rock n roll
This is great. The beginnings of rock and roll are right here. Got some time in Memphis? This is a must-see. The tour is informative and fun.
Awesome piece of Legendary Memphis music history that can't be missed!
A nice review of the history and music that was produced here. The tour guide was excellent and even played piano for us which was a great surprise.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. What a great place to visit, so much history in this place which is covered so well in the guided tour. We visited with our 3 children ages 15, 11, & 6 and they all enjoyed it. Inexpensive, a must see when in Memphis. If you are wanting to visit Graceland also, enquire about the FREE bus you can get when you purchase tickets for both places, which picks you up outside Sun Studio, drops you at Graceland and picks you up at the end of the day. Works out great!!
The birthplace of rock & roll can not be missed when you visit Memphis.
Elvis wasn't even there. Not sure why. They let me in free though. I was in a band.
What an experience to visit where some of the greatest albums in the world have been recorded!
I absolutely loved this tour, the guide was so energetic and had so much information to share! You even get to "play" with the very same Shure 55 microphone these musical legends used to record their first songs with! (PS: Sun Parking is just behind the building)
Very emotional tour for me. I touched the same stuff Elvis did.
Nice place not quite as good as Stax but worth the trip
Absolutely one of the best tours I have been on and such great history.
Loved the tour, this place is oozing with history! Great tour guide and want to return again soon!
Well done, well preserved over the year. If you have been or are a rock and roll you got to make a stop and do the tour.
Was an absolute delight , informative and educational loved it !!
Such great history and so fun to hear about....and enjoyed standing on hallowed ground
You have to take in this attraction if you are in Memphis.
Ahh it was so amazing. If you love music you will love this and its not over done. Its a great hands on experience and without rushing you through it.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The staff are fantastic. The history in such a small building is breathtaking.
A great bit of music history. Our tour guide was great and the staff is friendly too. Loved this place.
Great interactive tour. Worth the trip. Kudos to our guide Lahna
The birthplace of Rock and Roll. Nothing more to say. The tour guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic.
Great place to visit, the birthplace of rock and roll. Everyone made to feel welcomed!
Well worth the tour. Nothing really exciting but it was entertaining.
Great place so glad we went. Big part of music history
Great place with amazing history. Zac who was our tour guide made the tour worth while.
Fantastic tour, don't miss out if you are in Memphis
Graham was a very enthusiastic tour guide. It was a short tour but it had a lot of interesting information.
Didn't think it was much driving to it, but decided to stop anyway!
come see where it all began. I was thrilled beyond belief just to be able to stand where Elvis, johnny cash and howlin wolf all stood and made the best music in the world. so much cool information and relics. a must see for all music lovers. a true gem.
Just seen the outside because it was closed by time we got there. Got pictures of it anyway to go along with our Elvis experience
I didn't know they still record here! It was amazing to step into the recording booth that others have played in!
Awesome history of the birthplace of Rock and Roll!
The money you spend here is worth it. This is also a MUST when you go to Memphis.
Wonderful memories of the great days of early rock and roll
What a interesting tour. So much musical history to be found in one place. Tour guide was excellent and made the whole experience that much more interesting. For lovers of Rock and Roll, The Blues etc. this is a must if visiting Memphis.
