This company has improved my life in more ways then I can mention. They gave me a chance to prove myself and I ran with it. I was quickly promoted. And now im training individuals as well as mentoring. Summit really gives you all the tools you need to succeed. They have built an amazing network of passionate employees who are willing to share there tips for success. Bottom line if your looking for a company that rewards hard work this is the one. Not to mention the health insurance is amazing.

Pros

Perfect litmus test if sales is a career for you.

You will meet a lot of people working at Summit Retail Solutions- if you re good at your craft you will be recruited by your clients- explore those avenues

Weekly pay- arguably necessary to stay afloat but convenient all the same

If you make less than $12/hr on the average this could be an upgrade. If your yearly income is less that 32k a year. Be sure to factor in transportation costs and a more than the advertised 40 hour workweek

Cons

All of the con s of this business can be summarized in a google search of the word devilcorp ...don t be fooled by the name change. Summit Retail Solutions operates as an offshoot of a long standing business that s gone by many, many, names. Nulife/cydcor/dsmax/ innovage/smart circle ect. You ll see all of the legends of Summit Retail Solutions in this search and the sordid history of this business.

The cons of this business are also surmised in a fantastic book Ringing the Bell: My Life in the Biz . Company hero Tom Spiro even makes a cameo in the book. Reading this book will predict your bleak future as a leader in the business. It may as well of being an autobiography when I read it.

The company s favorite people are those they brand as leaders in their management training program . Ideally these are people poor, desperate, and helpless (PHD candidates) that will stop at nothing to build their situation .

Important Summit Retail Solutions vocabulary:

Manage your ledger - while encouraging you to not claim all the hours you work would be a legal nightmare for HR this is code for just that... so you don t have a negative ledger

Leader - someone naive or ambitious enough (ideally both) to pay to train people, interview new fodder for the machine uncompensated, and work on their days off to build their situation

Situation - Summit Retail Solutions shys away from the word career because they know they have none to offer. You build your situation which is so fickle DEMOTIONS can happen on your anniversary with the company.

I worked for over a year at Summit Retail Solutions. Never got promoted myself to management (Exceeded the criteria) or seen a promotion to management to my cohorts.

Do not pursue management unless you get paid more DIRECTLY for the effort you put in. This means training (you pay to train people), new product launches, interviewing, or keeping up with compliance on your days off. Do not live for deferred reward. The North remembers, Summit Retail Solutions does not.

The real money may well be in management. The table was set long before the company thought about you or you thought about them. Get used to crumbs or move on.

I have been with Summit for a short time but my experience with them has been positive. The management team, owner and trainers are always reaching out to the representatives, they are in the field with us. We have great opportunities to grow and advance and after 14 years of being a stay at home mom they helped make the transition into full time work easy. I let anyone know that asks how great the company is to work for and I am excited for anyone who decides to apply because they will be working for a wonderful and dedicated company.

I have worked for the company for over 6 years as a partner and for the past year as a full time employee. The people and relationships are what sets Summit apart from other companies. It's less of a "job" and more of a "career". Every day, I look forward to working with all of my colleagues and meeting the challenges presented.

First interview with recruiter gave brief description of employment and terms. Second interview with Senior Recruiter involved other candidates via GoToMeeting and was brief, very distracting and no opportunities to ask questions. Third and final interview was with a Regional Director. This interview more details were given regarding the position, expectations, pay structure and possibilities for growth. a few basic details:

1) Last minute email for final interview
2) Over the top presentation of company and how quickly a person can move up because no one is hired outside of the company at management level.
3) Base hourly rate draw against commission.
4) Various product representation
5) Alternating 4 and 5 day work weeks in different locations, every weekend with conference calls on Wednesday
6) Employee responsible for set up, break down and inventory of product
7) Very high turnover of employees
8) Expected to travel outside of your district for events

Declined an opportunity with this company because it misrepresents itself and the potential to earn the income they claim. Was given details and after research, found these numbers were misrepresented and exaggerated. May expect you to travel out of your district without mileage or meal reimbursement and travel time with pay.

In final, thoughts are this is a company not vested in having long term employees, lack of integrity and exploitative.

I WANT TO COMMEND YOUR EMPLOYEE KIMBERLY BRECHEMIN.

KIMBERLY WAS IN COSTCO IN LANTANA, FL PRESENTING THAIRAPY INFARED PRODUCTS. I WASN'T REALLY IN THE MARKET FOR ANYTHING LIKE THIS, BUT KIMBERLY HAD A REALLY NICE WAY ABOUT HER, AND EXPLAINED THE PRODUCTS WELL. I PURCHASED THE INFARED BLOW DRYER 10/8/19. I LIKED IT AND WENT BACK TO GET ONE AS A GIFT FOR A FRIEND THE NEXT DAY, AND ALSO GO A HAIR STRAIGHTENER FOR ANOTHER FRIEND. KIMBERLY EXPLAINED HOW TO USE ALL OF THE PRODUCTS, LET ME TRY THEM, AND EXPLAINED WHAT THE ITEMS DO. SHE IS GREAT! I COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE THAT SHE HAD A BOOT ON HER FOOT, WHICH I ASKED ABOUT ... SHE HAS A BROKEN ANKLE! STILL SHE WAS WORKING HARD AND WITH A SMILE. KUDOS TO KIMBERLY!!!

I have been working with summit for almost 2 years and have nothing but good things to say. They offer competitive competition plans as well as full benefits. The people I report to are very professional and hard working. They are also very great at recognizing hard work and rewarding it. If you invest in them, they will invest in you too!

This company is 100% a scam in my book. I was hired In Atlanta at an audition as an actress at a very prominent acting studio. This was really a group interview and they rented the acting studio as a disguise. The next lie they told was we were simply going to be doing shows. We were handed a script and told to memorize it which we did. I recall being told the base pay was $500-$700 a week. That was a lie. Then at the second interview we were told the base oh was $12/hour plus commission. The commission was supposed to be $5.75 for every $29.99 product we sold. Never during this process were we told that we would get NO COMMISSION CHECK for sell g anything of our sales commission did not outweigh the hourly pay. Me an other coworkers were expecting a commission check and we were NEVER told we wouldn t get one. A current employee had to explain that. I worked for this company for about 8 weeks and never had a paycheck that was even $300 for a week s worth of work and this is hard work. This requires driving from store to store, setting up a display table, counting inventory, retrieving your own inventory from the back, unboxing, bagging and labeling the product and after all of this they expect the worker to perform 12 shows a day reciting the script for $12/hour. We were sent these payment ledgers that had our commission rates on there so no one ever asked any questions because we assumed we were getting what we were seeing. NOPE. Apparently there is no commission check if your commission does not out weigh the hourly pay. If I wanted to make $12/hr I would have done something that required much less effort not to mention travel. I was traveling very far from store to store. This company lies to its potential employees from the start and they have a high turn over rate because of it. Once people find out what is really going on they quit. Then the Vice President who is the head liar will call of you quit and try to get you to stay. Knowing al the while they lied about the money that. My team just quit last week and they still have not informed us about this commission situation. We only know because a current employee explained it to us and they highly shun employees communicating. This is one of the craziest experiences I have ever had. Do not be lured by the benefits. You ll basically be working to pay your premium and that s bare needs. This company has lied and owes a lot of former employees money. The only people that eat are at the top and they eat off of the worker s backs. This company is not going to last long especially in Atlanta.

I was hired the first week of August and a lot of things wern t right.
I was supposed to get 2 weeks of training and I only got one week.

The product that I was selling was really something that should be sold early summer and then summer it was the end of the season and the store that I was located in was very very slow.
I was terminated by them sending me a text stating that my sales numbers were too low.
They also send you text notifications of a conference call one hour before that conference call and you have to go to the store and set up a display at the very same time you re on that call.
I would highly recommend not to work for this company or keep looking for something in the meantime.
They never even gave me access to paystub s until they actually terminated me I had to ask Human Resources for that which should ve been given to me upon being employed by them for Them the first day.
I would not wish this job on my worst enemy.
