I m a Piano Technican and recently was working with a college on replacing an upright for a classroom. After entertaining several bids, the college selected a Kawai ST-1 from Summerhays. We worked directly with Roger Wilson and could not be more pleased with the deal we were able to workout. Michaels fast and efficient delivery was much appreciated. Since we did not go to the store, he delivered excellent customer service exceeding my clients expectations. My client is thrilled, and I get to work on a fantastic Kawai piano. We definitely will work with Summerhays in the future!

My daughter started orechstra this year and her school recommend us to rent to own from summerhays. I called, checked online and anyone had failed to mention a deposit would be required based on credit. Everyone was nice and we got set up with a violin but it would be nice if you communicate to your new customers the true process. I traveled from Tooele to murray....back to tooele to get my deposit money. Very inconvenient. Please communicate better with your customers.

The instrument repair and service department is absolutely fantastic. The knowledge I was able to glean during a short visit will save me hours of frustration and a good deal of money.

No one does instrument rentals, sales, and repairs better than Summerhays! As a local music teacher I ve worked with a few different music stores and SH is second to none. Customer service and loyalty to the local school system is refreshing and hard to find in a penny-seeking economy. Truly the best.

Unless you need something VERY specific, like a high end luthier, it's the best all-around music store in Salt Lake County.

I can appreciate the out reach this store does to the schools. They may have a broad selection, kind and helpful workers. Truth be told they are one of the few places to rent an instrument ( I myself took my son to rent a band instrument). DO NOT BUY A CELLO HERE! I have taught in this area for decades, and I can easily pin point ALL of the worst instruments that come through my door to Summerhays. They are more expensive, unresponsive, and always flawed with horrid "wolf tones" (look it up and learn before you buy). Rent there if you must, but cut your losses and buy elsewhere. The money you loose will be about equal to their inflated prices. I looked around at their fiddle fair and was shocked at the high violin prices too (for the low quality of instrument). If you are looking for the cheapest prices, go to Charles Liu. They have wonderful student instruments, if you are looking for mid-range try Day Violins. A terrible instrument does NOT appreciate in value. You will be frustrated with the inability to make a clear, rich sound. I promise. Never buy an instrument because it's a pretty color or it has nice patterns in the wood. I shrink and die a little inside when a new student tells me they got their instrument at Summerhays. I do not work for anyone. I am a private teacher and player. And I couldn't sleep in good conscious tonight (cause i got (another!) new adult student who "always wanted to play the cello". This was only his second lesson and he's already dissatisfied with the sound he is getting. HE is doing a great job, it's the instrument fault...that he got at Summerhays...(eyeroll)...). I just had to sound a voice of warning. Just don't do it.

Summerhays music has a good selection of not only pianos but guitars, cellos, violins, harps, etc. They are very friendly and can answer any questions you have.

They were able to fix my saxophone within minutes. They are also pleasant to speak to and very knowledgable. Months ago they gave me a quote and they quoted me the same price. Definitely recommend them.

I was very impressed with summerhays music. They have a huge variety of almost every instrument you can think of but I went there to have them restore an antique metal clarinet from the 1700s and was very nervous but they did a fantastic job. Better than I expected and I would never go anywhere else . The staff is absolutely amazing and friendly. Thank You . Highly recommended

I recently brought my daughter and her violin to the String Repair Department at Summerhays to have a string re-strung. Christian in the String Repair Department was absolutely amazing! He took so much time with my daughter who is just beginning to play. He showed her how to restring the violin, how to tune it, how to properly rosin her bow. You can tell he has such a passion for the instruments and what he does and the service he provides. He is amazing. Thank you for all you did.

Summerhays is a well rounded store with knowledgeable staff and a great selection.

I picked out a few books and tried out a violin. It was fun to play in the store, but the customer service is lacking. Asked about wood music stands and she said "oh those are 200-300$" Im sorry, do I not look like I can afford that? She later asked if my parents had an account. I am in my twenties and take care of myself actually.
