I was very disappointed in the bell kit rental situation. I thought that I was just renting the bell kit from them through the school and that when we were finished, they would pick up all of the bell kits from the school and quit charging my account. They don't pick them up, we are responsible to return them but that was never conveyed to me. I now realize that I have been making payments to own it and have been paying interest as well. I think it is a complete scam because these bell kits are not worth their cost plus interest. Encourage your child to join choir or take piano lessons or just be very wary of rental agreements.

Maintanance insurance is worthy to have on instruments. Customer service is great. And they are knowledgeable people about instruments.

We went in for instruments for our children. The workers were very nice and helpful.

They have multiple employees by the door willing to help you and they know a lot about each instrument. I went in to buy a harp and they had 10 to 20 harps to choose from.

If you want a really bougie venue then this is the place. I came in looking for banjos and banjo music and they seemed shocked that I would think such a redneck instrument should be in their store. Maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but they do have a pretty limited variety. Definitely a classical music store for classically trained people. Not really the place your going to find an instrument that isn't high shelf.

We rent all of our instruments from Summerhays Murray! Their manager is amazing and so is Maren Laurence, a professional harp teacher who teaches from their studio twice a week. We are so grateful to have found them and for their amazing customer service! They also have a wonderful selection of music and keep it up to date! Thank you Summerhays Murray!!!

Summerhays has wonderful and knowledgeable employees like Allison (harps) that will treat you like family and help you every step of the way. For instance, when buying a harp, Allison at Summerhays will provide you with all the knowledge and resources that you need to find the harp that is best for you. Over the past few months, Allison has gone above and beyond to help me with harps, harp supplies, benches, music stands, information on harp teachers, harp covers, and dollies. You name it, Allison has taken the time to help me not only find which items are right for me but give me resources to help me make the right decision. You want someone that educates and supports you in your harp music endeavors and that is Allison at Summerhays. I trust her completely.

This review is about the outstanding orchestral string repair at Summerhays Music Center. But first, a little background.

I am an orchestra and band director in my 30th year of teaching. I've done business with Summerhays the whole time, both privately and in behalf of my school programs. I also visit other stores, but Summerhays is my go-to source for equipment, accessories, and repairs.

They have the best selection of instruments in the valley, and I have found them to have the best developed repair staff in the state. This post is about string repair specifically.

Part of my responsibility as a director is to keep the instruments playing, so every year we repair them as necessary, Often, as the school instruments age, Christian Rapp would give me a repair estimate and say, "Also, it would be good, at this time, for the instrument to have this one thing fixed, IF you have budget. If not, I understand" And then we'd fix what was needed, but not what was wanted.

Well, this year I found myself with a little bit of extra budget money, because I didn't have any repairs during the shutdown, and it dawned on me to ask Christian if he could "revitalize" the look of our 25 year old school cellos. They have various scratches and chips after their decades of service. He studied out the problem, which included a German varnish that doesn't repair as easily as the traditional French finish, and gave me a repair estimate. I approved it, and I don't have words to adequately express how great the change is. When the student opened the case, they didn't believe it was the same one. Now I'm sending in all my cellos, one by one, and the students are all eager for theirs to be next.

TL;DR - I've always loved Summerhays Music Center in Murray, but this time, because of Christian Rapp - Luthier, I love them even more.

They have a great rent to own program for string instruments, and for band, too, I believe.

I love shopping at Summerhays and feel the customer service is phenomenal here. Christian, the string technician, really goes above and beyond to help you. They treat you like family and help you understand all your options. The instrument we purchased was excellent quality and a great price.

I have done several voice recitals here, I get my vocal spray here, and love just looking at all the instruments, especially the ukuleles! The staff is friendly and helpful and I definitely recommend this store.

Affordable, straight-forward, and excellent quality instrument rental programs as well as a great selection of pro-band and pro-string instruments. They have both a band repair shop and a string repair shop with experienced techs. Their customer service is extraordinarily friendly and very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this store!

Local Kawai Dealer. They sell and service pianos and other instruments. Half of the store is pianos, the other half has band instruments and even harps. They are great to work with.

It has all string instruments or band too. But it takes care of all your personal needs for your instruments. But remember it does cost a lot, but it's worth it because it's a growing experience. My parents wanted me to grow and learn new things. And instruments help get smart and a better understanding of things.

Ridiculous they have to run your credit just for a rental....come on...im not buying a car or a house

Rent instruments for school here on a payment plan, saxophones to cellos, various accessories, amazing helpful staff, they also do repairs here.

Got my first real ukulele here and the staff is really superior especially Jason! I will come back any day! Although he didn t tell me or my mom how to tune the e, c, and g strings. How do I tune those strings because they are out of control!

We have rented, or straight out purchased, multiple instruments from Summerhays. Here's a little known thing- our music stores locally carry instruments from Summerhays, so it's better just to make the trip to Murray (even from Ogden) to see the bigger selection all at once. I have always loved their selection, knowledgable staff, and financing options. Some instruments we have rented, and staff was good about taking payments over the phone so we weren't late. It's a petting zoo of instruments, and they never look at you funny if you want to try out lots of things (some of the stores locally have you asking permission to even touch, which makes buying the right one a pain). They work with music teachers, and the mailing list lets you know of special events. There is a reason we keep coming back to this store again and again.

It's clear to me that the people who work here love music and are just interested in helping other people learn to make their own. They are all much more polite and helpful than the few other music stores I visited while shopping around for my kids' band instruments.

I love going there, all the staff is so helpful, and friendly. They have a really good variety of instruments, and parts for your instrument. I loved being able to test a few of them out as well.

It's a very good place. Prices are a bit higher then one would expect and very little mid to lower end stuff. Selection is limited as well

I rented a flute here then I purchased a flute. Very nice staff, willing to answer all the questions I had.

I came into Summerhays not knowing a lot about cellos, and I was very stressed by the amount of research I was doing before coming to Summerhays and still not knowing what I wanted or what to look for when purchasing a cello. But thanks to both Melissa and Matthew for quickly acknowledging me and helping me find the perfect cello, I left Summerhays confident and comfortable with my new purchase. I look forward to coming back here for all of my cello and instrument needs.

It's nice to have local music stores. It mostly focuses on pianos, strings, and some beginner to professional wind instruments. Downstairs there is a repair shop and some guitar equipment.

They also have some very knowledgeable people working there.

They always have almost everything one needs. They've provided service for us for almost 15 years. Violins, music books, guitar, and recently harp. Allison knows everything about harps. Love her and love them!

I have purchased four instruments from this location. These guys are always willing to work with us. They are very knowledgeable and helpful! Their repair department is spot on! Everytime I have needed it they have been helpful and given great tips on how to avoid repair. Several times I have just walked in and had them fix instruments right away! Took my daughter in their violin shop, talked to Estefan, he was of great help, and was honest with his advice, we had a great experience. We'll definitely go back when my daughter is ready for upgrades.

Very clean and very professional looking store, with a very attentive staff. We were just passing through and were approached by a bunch of salespeople. They pushed leasing a lot which is something that I don't like, but I don't have any problem with the company. It's how they do business.

I had a great experience with Summerhays Music in Murray. They were extremely helpful and accommodating to my needs. I lost my phone in their store and was leaving for a trip that day. I didn't know how to get a hold of them, so I connected with them via Facebook. They were very quick and responsive and helped me get me phone back before I had to leave on my trip. Summerhays music is a great music store with even better employees!

It was hard finding anybody to ask questions to. But the service I got was excellent. The atmosphere of the store was delightful. Any music person would be in heaven there.

We've had pretty decent service with this store. We've had a good experience with instrument rentals and insurance. We had an unpleasant experience taking my husband's horn in for a cleaning. The estimated time was 10 days, which I think is a little long, but we said okay. 10 days later my husband called in the morning to see if it would be ready that day. They told him it would be ready by 3:00 or 4:00 in the afternoon. He called back around 4:30 to check again and was told that a bunch of rental instruments came in and those had first priority, so they were just barely starting on his horn. That was an extra couple of days without his horn. We did get it back today and the cleaning looked very good. We were happy with the finished product, but frustrated we were put on the back-burner, since he was already waiting 10 days to get it back.

They did a great job fixing up my old trumpet and making it shine again. They offered advice to the repairs and walked me through it!

Lots of pianos for sale, and recital hall in basement. They did an awesome job selling our harp on consignment for a reasonable commission. Highly recommended!!

This is not the same company as the one in Orem. So you can't return stuff there that you bought in Orem. But this one is nice looking, new. Lot of cells etc.

I always have a good experience when I come to this store.

Today I came in looking to try out mouthpieces for my trombone, but I didn't really know what to look for. Right as I walked in though, this really nice employee instantly asked what I was looking for, and he went on and explained the process of getting mouthpieces and helping me determine my price range, etc. He brings me back multiple mouthpieces to try out in their practice room and he gives me plenty of time to try them all out before coming back in. He explains more about the different mouthpieces and answered any questions I had, and so on. Eventually, I find the mouthpiece I'm looking for and ask to buy it and another guy at the counter takes me quickly through the buying process. Got my mouthpiece, they said, "have a great day" and I said the same back, and left very satisfied having found just what I needed.

Way over rated. They dump their name into the schools as a great sponsor of the music programs. Every time I have had to use them to make a repair on an instrument , I was taken to the cleaners. After this last time, I started shopping around. There are many smaller shops locally that charge much less. New instruments are available online at a fraction of the cost.
