The classic new England chowder was not as thick as expected with weird bread(?) pieces. Fish taco was way too hot for my taste. Then rather the tourist traps at Quincy market.
Beer selection is rather wide, service mostly fine.
Excellent buttery lobster roll. Chips so-so. Boomsauce IPA is good. Pricey but fresh. Wonderful service.
Nothing for vegetarians--or anyone who cares about healthy eating. Decent beer selection though
I really enjoy the Summer Shack, its got a great laid back style and great food make this my go to restaurant for seafood. A bonus is their desserts, they are delicious. I'll try to make it here once or twice a month.

The food was great. The service was good. The dog in a stroller that walked across the table and was eating in the booth was terrible. (We complained and were told they could not ask if it was a service dog or not. I am 99.99% sure it was not a service dog! Service dogs would not be eating at or walking across the table.) It left a bad taste in our mouths and we'll never go back.

You really wouldn t expect this place near Alewife station to be as good as it is... but it actually is really, really good. The tuna burger and scorpion bowls are a favorite. The lobster meal was also great to share with a few friends.

Their food was sooo tasty!! I loved it! I ordered from them for the first time thru UberEats. And their food was so fresh and the fish just melted in my mouth. Haven t had that kind of food since forever. I didn t know food could be this tasty! If you re a seafood fan, I would definitely recommend their Fried Fisherman s Platter. The Haddock fish in this platter was a treat. The price was fair because the food was amazing. You get what you pay for. Totally worth it. Keep up the good service.

We went for $1 oyster night! Chowder was meh and the portions are pretty small for the price but everything else was good. Super cool inside with the lobster pots and you can see all your food getting cooked.
Don't let the lack of outside appeal fool you, this place is great! Delicious seafood, nice ambiance inside, and friendly service.
Summer Shack has a good beer selections and fresh local oysters. All the dishes uhh had there from the tacos to the pasta dishes are tasteful. There is always a fresh catch. I wish there would be a greater variety of disk to choose from though.

We have been here several times. Food is very good and the waitresses are attentive without being overbearing. The last time we went we asked for bread and we got the response "we no longer provide bread." No reason given, it's not a deal-breaker, but a little bit of a disappointment. When you go, it can be busy and quite noisy. The last time we went was Sunday about 6 p.m. and it was nice and quiet and not very busy! Before we went was Saturday at 7 p.m. and it is quite busy and extremely noisy.

Place is good for seafood. I ordered the calamari which was cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning. Apparently the fried chicken is also very good.
Cozy and fun atmosphere, great service, and tasty food! Looks a little questionable from the outside with little light in an empty parking lot, but as soon as you go in, it s nicely decorated and bright!

The bartenders are great the food is good but not great. I think it is a bit overpriced as well. The food used to be really good, but lately it seems to have declined a bit. Location is nothing special but is right next to the T. Good for an after work beer or to catch up with someone.

Diverse menu selections. Everything arrives on your table, fresh and hot. Seafood, especially the lobster and crab, is top grade. Oysters are amazing. Service has always been efficient and the wait staff is very helpful to explain all menu selections and the specials of the day. The restaurant is large, clean and comfortable. No negative comments about this exceptional restaurant.
Food is just ok. Not terribly tasty. I ordered a king crab legs and a lobster roll.
The bread on the lobster ways dry and unbuttered. The lobster itself wasn't seasoned at all. I was hungry so it was whatever.
The grilled kind crab legs were grilled in butter and super oily. Sigh.

We were a party of eight on a Sunday evening, around 9:15. The place was mostly empty, and we got a picnic table right away. Service was attentive and friendly, although the drinks took longer than we expected on a slow night. My Vietnamese shrimp salad was OK, but tasted a bit Americanized to me. I noticed that my red charger plate was dirty, and some glasses were spotty. Salmon burgers and sides got nods from folks in our group and the cocktail I ordered was pretty good when it came.
Great after work place to meet friends and co-workers. Easy to get to of the deadline but sadly not the best area. Little dark inside but it's a great seafood atmosphere.
To quote a co-worker "there is nothing bad on the menu" and if have yet to prove them wrong.

Went here after work for drinks with coworkers. We ordered 5 varieties of raw oysters and they were excellent.
The atmosphere is good, the portion is enough, and the transportation is convenient, but the rush hour must be mentally prepared for serving time.
i've never had a bad meal here and if you want amazing lobster, this is the place to go. jasper is always there helping guest and being great to the kids. it is worth the splurge for the pan roasted lobster -- you won't be disappointed!

Solid experience over all...
Ordered the fried whole belly clams. They were not fried long enough so it came out soft and not crunchy. The larger pieces still had soggy white batter in the center. I was extremely disappointed since a plate was $28 so you are expecting some level of quality. This was not a busy Sunday night so there should be no reason to rush the order out. I would not recommend any seafood place that cannot correctly prepare their food.
Eaten there three times over 10 years, terrible every time. Extremely overpriced for very basic seafood fare with disappointing preparation and portions. Seating is like a cafeteria and the place is not very clean. I don't know how they have stayed in business. My rating is inflated as you cannot post a review with zero stars.

Casual atmosphere, service was great. Sal took care of us and answered all our questions. Muscles were fantastic. Lobster Mac was brimming with chunks. We will be back next time we visit.

LOVED their food--everything from chowder and soup to tuna sliders, shrimp/lobster rolls, stuffed mushrooms, tenderloin on small breads. These were appetizers, but I'd go back again in a minute! Great service.

Good as it gets for seafood, served in a casual place befitting it's name. Best bet for proper treatment of ocean fare, but ever appetizers like wings are exceptional.
Lobster roll was good, but way overpriced for the size. Person with me had basic fish and chips, but the fish batter was doughy and mushy and just sort of sloughed off a meager sized piece of fish under it.
