What a treat! Indulged in all my favorites - mussels, pan roast lobster and onion strings! Love this place.
What a treat! Indulged in all my favorites - mussels, pan roast lobster and onion strings! Love this place.
Nice selection for seafood lovers. Try the specials.
Food was SO good. Great place to lounge, hang with friends and eat good food :)
We ordered the tower of power as a dinner and were not disappointed! You can choose up to four different kinds of oysters and they were all so tasty. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly with excellent service. They had a really great craft beer and oyster pairing special that day too.
Really nice fish shack ! Lobsters crabs fish fresh from the tank ! Nice restaurant cosy
the best food ever good prices, the best family restaurant I ever see love the place .
Casual, professional atmosphere; come as you are, leave satisfied.
Relaxed, warm atmosphere; spacious and perfect for large groups. Excellent lobster and raw oysters. Highly recommended for date nights, birthday parties and work outings.
We have been to the bar side twice for a light dinner with drinks and have very happy with our selections. One night we shared a fabulous grilled sardine dish and lovely beet salad, the following visit, we had the bluefish sandwich with olive tapenade and a fish taco both wonderful.
High priced cat food.
Fried food (clams and calamari) were served room temp, and the clams were tiny. Calamari was flavorless.
Cold foot (raw oysters) were barely cool, no snap or crunch.
Lobster was cooked to the consistency of stiff oatmeal.
I can't imagine what the fish filet was like. Oh, I can. Meow.
Awful.
Sneakily lowkey environment, good place to bring the family. Smaller parties are seated a little close to one another, didn't prove to be much of an issue. Friendly staff and food was alright.
Great place for Lobster and Oysters. Service was great! Price is slightly pricey but for the amount of food given. So worth it. Try the oysters and lobsters. That is their top sellers! Great place for family and friends gatherings.
Went here couple of days ago for a business meeting and really enjoyed what I was looking at on the menu and really enjoyed all of the food that they gave me .Keep in mind that this place is known for its lobster and sea food and at salad sir adequate but that's not what people come for its got a large area for seating and a lot of parking and it's located centrally in fresh pond area Cambridge Massachusetts
Best fried clams on east coast. Freshest tastiest raw clams.
The food was scrumptious. The pan roasted lobster was as good as its reputation. Even the corn on the cob was superior. Some of the prices seemed a tad overbearing but not disturbing. The only reason I did not give a 5 overall was the cheap lobster crackers. They were not the right type for cracking lobster; in fact they were wobbly and useless.
Solid seafood restaurant. Plates are not fussy and generously portioned (usually). Always enjoyed the corn bread. Do not expect cutting edge food. Conceptualization and execution are straightforward/ acceptable and give "local character" without killing the wallet. Desserts are homey and of the one component, one garnish variety.
My mahi mahi was cooked to juicy perfection and the sides (collards, black beans and rice) were delicious as well.
Lobster roll was good, clam chowder was bland, watery and the potions are too small for $12, shrimp scampi with linguini just tasted white wine but the service was good though.
I came for Sunday brunch and I had a very well informed served name Sal. We ordered the all American breakfast and the lobster hash, everything was to die for. I have never had such a wonderful experience. Those who don t come in are missing an incredible time
Summer Shack has been in decline for a couple years now. This is our third and final chance we have given it in the past six months. Garlic shrimp? The garlic was nonexistent! Brutal. Fries came out luke warm. Fish sandwich is beat by McDonald's, and I mean not even close. Clam chowder is comparable to a watered down Campbell's. Very poor service for the third time in a row. No tea refill, no beer refill for ten minutes after asking for it. Assistant bartender sprayed cologne on himself and me. Jasper (owner)what the hell happened here? So disappointing, especially as we used to be monthly regulars.
Very bad place I work at. People super unprofessional, the maneuver by the time use to come drunk to work. TW. The waiters doing coke in the bathroom... drinking while is working... they were mean if you didn t want to be part of the time. I got fired for no reason, all my consumers used to be very happy and I used to get always more then 20%... unprofessional and unprepared. The food was good, but the management it was Terrible. Come on? Coke in the bathroom, Vini showing up drunk at work. Come on. I ve seen the guy coming over everyday to drink for free just because he was her boyfriend. Super unprofessional, I hope they left. Otherwise one day the police could go and find drugs at the restaurant.
Great place. We live nearby and have been regulars since it opened. Great seafood. Menu changes regularly depending on what's fresh. Be warned that despite the "shack" name and decor, it's on the expensive side. Very child-friendly, though, with a children's menu and some sort of balloon night on Sundays. It's on the Red Line at Alewife Station. There's plenty of parking but getting to and from by car can be tough because of the traffic jams.
If you want great seafood, fresh off the boat, Summer Shack is the place to be!
We had the friendliest waiter Sal, who enthusiastically welcomed us Pennsylvanians and engaged in conversation with us each time he can to check on our meals. The food was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend. Excellent service, and food arrived quickly.
Very expensive and loud. Legal is less expensive and far better atmospere
Came here for the dine out Boston event. Solid tuna burger.
What a wacky concept for a restaurant. Fancy cuisine with a casual atmosphere. The absolute best thing was the amazing balloon animal artist. He visits from table to table making hundreds of different animals and props.
We visited on New Years Eve and celebrated as the new year struck in Greenland and Rio. The food was good. The oysters were amazing!
Best lobster roll I've ever had. Desert was good too.
Always busy, but dim lighting and high prices don't help this sea themed restaurant feel like much more than a local watering hole.
Interesting menu. Food was creative and tasty. Prices are a little high nut it is fresh high quality. Eclectic background music. Talk the staff up and find out whats up for best on the menu for the day
Two of my friends and I had a not so pleasant experience, after learning of our disappointing experience the General Manager, Mr. Vincent Lombardi, apologized and invited us back as his guests. We sat outside and had a wonderful evening!!! The service and food were both above and beyond. I'm grateful that they appreciate their customers and gave the extra effort to ensure we were happy and would continue to return. In business, just as in life mishaps occur, taking the time to acknowledge and improve on them is what makes a difference. Mr Lombardi's good business practices turned our customer experience around.
Fantastic seafood! The local crab bisque was fantastic.
Very tasty, very friendly, very good, but too expensive!
Overpriced, rude staff, long waits to get food or drinks because the servers never come to you. You can get much better food at some of the local stores.
Wonderful food, great relaxed atmosphere, and excellent service. Go and enjoy!
The Fish and Chips were delicious, although it was more like Fish and Fries. My wife had a clams roll and it was excellent as well. Definitely recommended. Great service as well.
It is on the pricier side but the food was great. I had the lobster Mac n cheese and pepper calamari. Our order came out so quick! Our waiter did really well. I would ve appreciated a more timely response in bringing the bill and running the card. Once the food and drinks are gone, I want to be to. I d definitely go back! Great atmosphere too.
Gotta love a place with a Giant Phallic statue out front Food was great Also
Fresh and savory food that is great for big events or hungry meals. The lobster is spot on while the fresh shellfish is competitive to many local shops. Arguably a must eat on our annual stop to Boston. They are also great for large group events with a big space for parties.
Chowder fries: potatoes with potatoes, great. Also, got the shark cocktail. Novelty mug with subpar cocktail. At least they couldn't mess up the beer.
Had fried clams whole belly with onion rings they tasted very good but there was only 6 clams, Had Sprite but glass was broken on the rim
Really good seafood for first timers! The mini clambake is good!
Another one of our go-to restaurants in the area. We started going here when our daughter was under a year old, as it's kid-friendly (in particular, Sunday nights they have a guy who makes ballon animals and sundaes for the kids); it's also big and absorbs sound. A perfect place to take out-of-town visitors for an east coast seafood experience. Some of my faves: Jasper's famous pan-roasted lobster is a must-try (watch out, it's pricey); grilled littleneck clams with garlic butter; wonderful selection of oysters; classic chowder; sesame crusted yellowfin tuna. They could up their game on their vegetable sides-- I'm not taking away a star because they clearly don't focus on these, but that would make it that much better.
Excellent oysters. Awesome lobster. Most excellent drinks. Happy Father's Day.
Great food, awesome service.!
Very busy day, glad I made a reservation
My first time here, but i loved the food and the service was very friendly and attentive. My wife has been before, plenty of times, and always spoke highly of it
The food is almost perfectly prepared. Great place to take a friend or go on a date if you like seafood go there
Food is great (lots of variety, plenty on non seafood options too). Wait Staff are awesome, I've been there dozens and dozens of times, and never had a bad experience.
Great food - INCREDIBLY BAD coffee. Don't do it - it's a horrible last taste. First brought cold coffee, then nuked it and brought it back. I said nevermind (I don't like nuked coffee.) Said they made a new pot and brought me a new cup. It was even worse.
Don't let the good food be ruined by the bad coffee.
Excellent food and service ! Looking forward to going back .
Great selection of fresh seafood! Waiter Ken was excellent and funny.
Great place to have a Guinness and oysters. Big bar and restaurant. Good fish, but also decent meals for landlubbers. If you're a vegetarian, tell the waiter and chef will make you something nice, too.
Good food, good portions, friendly service, or waitress(stephanie!) made us feel very welcome! Bonus rv parking!
Excellent service and delicious food. Thanks for your attention with us.
We bought it to-go. So the lobster roll was okay, it didn't cut it for me. It was also much smaller than expected. About the size just a little bit longer than a hot dog bun, so 6-7 inches or so. It tasted too fishy for my liking, but I truly enjoyed the lobster mac-n-cheese! It was a large shareable portion (I'm quite petite at 124 lbs). I couldn't even eat half before feeling full. The clam chowder was also a winner! The bowl portion was not as big as I thought it would be, but it was still delicious.
This place has incredibly tasty food! We ordered the kalamari, pan-broiled lobster and crab BLT. They were all beyond delicious! We paired it with a subtle chardonney to complete the meal and by the time we left we were highly satisfied!
The Thursday special Portuguese fisher's stew was great.
Been here a few times over the past few years and sadly seems to get worse every time. Their 'famous pan roasted lobster' a particular disappointment for me.
Bartender was rude and the food wasn't good. Burger overcooked
Dedicated towards placing tasty crustaceans on your plate.
Service, cleaniness of the restaurant & bathroom excellent. Convenient by train and has a big parking lot. Food was...ok.
I got the "large" fried clam dinner and there were hardly any clams! The Cole slaw looked like it was months old and to top it off...they threw in a rotten fried up lemon wedge. HORRIBLE!!!
