The room was horrible. Very very dusty and dirty. You can smell the dusty room as soon as you walk in the room. The carpet was so dirty I did not feel like walking on it. I was with my wife and 2 year old kid. It' was one of the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It was cold in the night so when I turned on the heat the whole room smelled burnt or gas we were not able to breath and it took about 1 hour to get rid of the smell by opening the door to patio in this cold. I did call to the front desk and they were going to send the maintenance guy in the room we were already in bed we did not want to spend our vacation by having someone in the room and wasting time to fix it. They were not able to change our room because they were sold out. If the owners would really care about this place they would try to keep the room clean and accommodate guest. I paid $188.00 for 1 night but the room only deserved $40 like a highway rundown motel.

Staff was extremely friendly and polite. Food was awesome and very fresh. Everyone wore masks and made sure our little party went as expected. I'd drive the 1h20m from Jersey with the family again just to eat there for dinner.

Dining room was a bit pricey and the bar plates are disappointing (especially the calamari), drinks were TINY for the price. The steak fries were delicious though. Beautiful retreat and grounds, but the cottage rooms are definitely outdated and something in the room (I suspect either dust or mold) was giving me horrible allergies to the point I was unable to sleep.

If you are looking for a retreat into the mountains or a location to host an event, this is a decent place, just avoid getting dinner from the restaurant if you don't want to be disappointed. Personally, I will likely not be a return guest, but camping is more my style anyways.

Loved it that the old world charm is still preserved here.i was in the cottage with the porch. Room was a bit small but the resort as a whole felt very cozy and quaint. I'd look for a bigger room the next time I visit.

A week ago I called and made a reservation for Father's Day brunch. I was given an 11:30 am for 3 people. We got there and the young lady asked us to have a seat out by the foyer and that we would be called when the table was ready. As we were patiently waiting, we noticed that other families were walking in and directed to their tables in the dining room. I asked the gentleman if there was a table ready for us, and he asked my name. Apparently they weren't aware of our presence before that moment. Without saying anything else, he asked us to follow him to the bar area. I asked if there was no table available in the dining room, and he said no. We felt humiliated and disrespected. My husband loved that place and I just wanted to have a nice Father's Day brunch for us as a family. This wasn't a last minute plan, we had reservations. Very disappointing experience.

Driving up to check in gives you the feeling of a quaint mountain inn. The main building houses the front desk, bar restaurant, pool, hot tub etc. Our room #92 was in the trees on the map privided us. We couldnt find it. Turns out its in a house outside the main complex. #209 on the street. Once inside you feel like your at grandmas house. Our bath mat was soaking wet. We were told we couldnt get another till tomorrow and were given extra towels. Now laying here in bed I don't think the covers were changed or laundered either just clean? sheets put on the bed. Not sure about the other rooms but I'm not going to chance coming here again. Paid $188 +tax.

Nice place. Felt rushed at reception w meals, and lights being turned off end of evening. Just didn't like how bridal party was split up in cottages spending the night. This was in the planning for 2 yrs.

Attended a holiday party for work at the Stroudsmoor Inn. The hall was beautiful. Bartenders were well versed, wait staff was incredibly attentive, and the food was excellent. I would highly recommend the venue to anyone looking to put together an event.

Was a guest for a wedding. Fantastic food, staff, and atmosphere. The courtyard was spacious and colorful with local fauna. I enjoyed the rock waterfall and the cliffside of the Terraceview. If I ever get divorced, I know where to host my next wedding.

The service and facilities were above our expectations. The outdoor wedding area
setting was beautiful and landscaped perfectly. Our guests had many compliments on the overall handling of the whole wedding procedure. The dinner was excellent and the waiters were very courteous. Over all we give Stroudsmoor Country Inn 5 stars.

I came here for a wedding and this place looked like it was straight out of a fairy tale. It has very informative and personable staff members. They are A++ in giving directions to where you need to go on the grounds. I plan to stay here next time I'm in town!!

Very quaint, rustic setting. The property is incredibly scenic. Almost every where you turn there are amazing photo ops. The room we had was a cabin, it was quaint, but perhaps a bit rustic. We really enjoyed it and the surrounding area. If you rent a cabin, there can be a bit of a hill climb with your luggage.

The best part of the stay is breakfast!! It is cooked to order in the restaurant, and is worth the price of the hotel!! I had an omelet, the eggs and the veggies were cooked to perfection, and not a drop of grease any where!! The service is great, and while the atmosphere is casual, the restaurant setting approaches fine dining. (Breakfast is included with the room.)

The only disappointment - we stayed on a Monday - the restaurant and bar are NOT open on Mondays, and this information is not on any of the booking sites, or on the hotel web site. The hotel is off the beaten path by a few miles; on Mondays you need to drive back to the city for dinner. There are no microwaves, and no access to a microwave in the lodge. With our wonderful experience at breakfast, I am regret missing dinner in the restaurant!! I wish we could visit over the holidays and see the restaurant dressed in it's Christmas finery!!

I don't take posting this lightly. I understand that these reviews can be make or break for a venue, but Stroudsmoor has left me few options.

These are unprecedented times. No doubt. But my daughters big day was yesterday at Stroudsmoor. Needless to say, Stroudsmoor was unable to host our event and I certainly don't fault them. However, they are treating this as if the couple canceled, WHICH THEY DID NOT.

What I DO take exception to is their total lack of concern for her and abysmal communication. They did not take any proactive steps to reach out to her, even as restrictions were being put in place and uncertainty brewing. They completely ignored our voice mails and emails for two full days leading up to her scheduled event, only responding once we used the CONTACT US form on their website.

Now they are trying to apply cancellation penalties to our kids though they didn't cancel. They were almost fully paid, and yet Stroudsmoor refuses to issue a full refund or otherwise communicate with us beyond vague assurances that they will be in touch when they can. At the same time, they continue to make happy go lucky marketing posts to their Facebook page. This speaks VOLUMES about their priorities.

They are holding our money hostage for booze we didn't drink, food we didn't eat, service that wasn't performed and no, we don't owe a "product charge" when the legally can't provide the service but WOULD WAIVE THE CHARGE IF WE JUST REBOOKED.

Bottom line, these people care about only one thing. Their bottom line. Think twice before you book.

If you have already booked, THINK TWICE ABOUT SENDING THEM ADDITIONAL DEPOSITS WITHOUT MODIFYING YOUR CONTRACT TO ENSURE YOU GET IT BACK IF THEY CAN'T HOLD UP THEIR END OF THE BARGAIN.

What should have been the happiest day of this couples life was made ten times worse by the total lack of concern, empathy and professionalism of the people involved. And it continues with no answers or end in sight.

Shame on you Stroudsmoor.

What a disappointment... I would of never expected such a failure from such a nice Inn... I booked this stay 2 days in advance as the capstone to my girl friends birthday weekend. After a 2 hour drive to the Inn we arrived to find out our reservation, as they say was never booked... I am livid!!! After contacting bookings.com who stated they entered, sent, and received confirmation the Inn had our reservation, for some odd reason the Inn never put us in their system and resold the room... I suspect the Inn bumped us out and gave our room to possibly one of the guests here for one of the many weddings they host! We were offered a free Buffet for the blunder, and for our troubles, which is pretty insulting for such an egregious error.. not only did we waste time and money by coming here, but this left a really sour taste in my mouth as this effectively ruined what was suppose to be a romantic getaway to celebrate a milestone birthday... Again I'm fairly certain the Inn gave away our room for whatever reason, and I will not recommend a stay here to anyone.

Visited the Stroudsmoor Terraview for a high school reunion. The ballroom and lobby area were very nice, well-lit and elegant. The men's restroom was very small and cramped during the timed breaks in the festivities. The staff were mostly attentive and helpful, but our table attendant was the best. He was constantly taking care of anything our table needed, and he was friendly and approachable throughout the night.

My husband fell in the shower right after we got here for a wedding, the shower was so slippery!! I woke up with such puffy eyes I will be wearing sunglasses for days, I only have this problem from laundry detergent and I have never ever had this problem in a hotel room!!!@

Attended a wedding on Nov. 2nd. What a beautiful place. The food was great. The waitress at our table was the best. She was so personable and fun to be around. Hopefully someone else I knows gets married so I can go back soon.

Very good customer service, breakfast was yummy, cottage I stayed in was quaint and cozy. I wish the mattresses were updated to a pillowtop or similar for comfort. Overall experience in comparison to chain hotel is so much better.

We stayed in the cabins room 39. The mold was so bad in the closet that we couldn't hang our things for fear the strong oder would ruin our clothes. We had several other rooms for people in our party and all had mold. This hotel is living on what it used to be. The food was plentiful but average at best. We wouldn't have stayed here if we had seen a reality-based review.
