The Strawberry Street Cafe is close to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, in an older upscale part of town. We stopped in for dinner on 2 separate occasions, both busy evenings. The first visit we were seated right away, the second had a wait, but it wasn't long. My husband had pot roast 1 night and a crab cake sandwich the other, I had salmon both times. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks and meals both visits. A word of warning though, parking is at a premium since there isn't a parking lot, and the restaurant is in a residential area.

For a good meal with great soup and salad bar, there's only one place to go. Its Strawberry Street, a real Richmond icon! There's a great selection on the menu, food is always good and hot.

Great place to eat, cool salad bar, nice bar. Decent service, decent prices, parking can be a challenge on the street. Food is good, be sure to check out their specials, they are usually very tasty.

I was very unimpressed with Strawberry Street Cafe. The restaurant itself was kinda dreary and gloomy. Tho food was also very underwhelming. I got the black bean burger and it was just meh. I forgot was my friends got but they felt the same way. We got a few Starr Hill pumpkin porters which were the only redeeming factor.

Then there is the brunch. It is buffet style and it is simply awful. It was college dining hall food with dining hall prices, $13ish for the buffet. This place really doesn't live up to all the hype. There is nothing appealing about Strawberry Street Cafe and I will not be returning.

Comfort food and great service. I love the menu. I like the ambiance. It's a truly Richmond institution. All the negative reviews seem to be from non richmonders who want a more hipster hang out. If you want rude service from people covered in tattoos this place ain't for you.

Slow brunch service, my group waited 1.5 hours for all of our food to arrive off the brunch menu. We we're contemplating just leaving and eating at McDonald's. After that we we're charged 20% gratuity for our party of 6.

VERY DISAPPOINTED. I ordered a quiche. It was tough/rubbery. The owner nicely took it back. brought another-just as bad-worse. He asked me-I told him, even a hard place in the middle. He said "Oh, that's just cheese, he overdoes it with the cheese sometimes". AND THAT WAS IT! Nice salad bar next to me, and I had nothing to eat ! My daughter got a pot-pie. It was GOOD, but waaay overpriced! The exact size of the little $1 ones in the grocery store, and $12 !!!! (2 sides)...Go to O'charley's for a great pot-pie. had one over the weekend. HUGE, and very very good. $10 with sides. Sign up with them and get 20% off coupons, etc. No more strawberry street for me.

Asked for clarification on quantity of food before ordering. They brought out less and I specifically noted the difference to them and they offered to bring more. I said yes. Then they charged extra as a la carte and refused to stand up to their word.

As usual the food was only out done by the friendliness of the staff.
My wife had the Crab Quiche and I had the Crab soup and the Bath tub soup and salad bar.
I only give it 5 stars because that's all it will allow.

Loud. The bathtub buffet bar is good, not great. Ordering off the menu is also good - not great. Gluten Free options have been added. Really nice atmosphere, but okay - not great food. It gets crowded and a group conversation can be a challenge. It's been around Richmond forever, and is worth a visit every now and again.

We had the "brunch bar" which was really good. The biscuits and gravy was delicious. The gravy was more like a brown gravy than a country one, but I really liked that. The biscuits were warm and fluffy. The eggs, bacon, and sausage were also good. It was neat to then have "lunch" with the good salad bar.

Stood at the front door for over 5 minutes with no acknowledgement, with a line behind me. The new owner (pointed out later by our server) walked by the front door without even looking in our direction. He was bartending and apparently was "too busy" with his bar patrons to care about the rest of his restaurant. Our server brought drinks and then just as quickly forgot about us, we had to ask someone else after 20 minutes to have her come over to the table. Food finally arrived 50 minutes after being seated and it was not good. The fried chicken looked like it had been cooked in week-old oil. Again, tried to flag down the server, but she was having a conversation with the owner/bartender about going to strip clubs. If he worked as much as he talked, maybe he would have realized that his new restaurant is not running very efficiently. The only time our server did anything promptly was when it was time to cash us out. Very disappointing, considering my friend and I used to work at Strawberry Street during our college years and wanted to properly say goodbye to a place that contained so many great memories.

They have good food but after receiving my delivery order last night I most likely won't be giving this place my business. The attached picture has the Mac n cheese entree which I added chicken to for $6. Definitely not please with my $6 worth of chicken.

Good food, good beer selection, nice salad bar. It can be a bit slow service-wise, but that's often due to how busy the place is! The Market next door has a great beer selection too - bottles, cans, and growler fills!

It's been awhile since I've eaten here. Both the menu and the decor are cleaner; it was easy to put together a meal that was much more diet friendly. Service was as usual very good and the food was not for the most part overpriced.

I enjoyed brunch on Sunday April 26th with my wife and adult son. The food was wonderful, prices very reasonable and the service was outstanding. We had a great experience. Will be back soon.

We come here every December 23 and never leave disappointed. Always a great wine and beer list, amazing soup and salad, and delicious entrees. Oh and dessert is a must! Definitely a perfect recommendation for anyone who visits RVA.

Love their weekend brunch and brunch bar (especially since it's served until 3 p.m.). Their Salad bar is also amazing.
Favorite dinner item is hands down the homemade Chicken Pot Pie.

For dessert, the strawberry shortcake ice cream sandwich (best shared, it's such a large portion!) and any of their seasonal cobblers, though Blueberry and Peach might be my favorites...

If you're looking for quaint and delicious you've come to the right spot! Friendly staff and excellent food. The chicken pot pie is a total classic and one of the most talked about menu items. The crust is the most delightful thing you'll ever taste! The neatest part the salad bar is in a bathtub! Enjoy a unique atmosphere with a hometown feel!
