Outstanding Hanover Tomato Pie!!
Waitstaff was great!!!
The service was great. The menu cost was reasonable. What I had was not so great. I forget what it's called on the menu at this point, but it was basically a crab dip on bread with more dip than crab. The first two bytes tasted great. And then it was like... blah. Too much and too rich.
Consistently wonderful with a great salad bar for $10 a person
There were 7 of us and we went there for a HS graduation celebration. The food was very good, but the service really lacked. The restaurant wasn't exceptionally busy, but for some reason our server couldn't keep our drink glasses full or the dirty plates cleared. After she passed us for the forth time not checking on how we were doing, I had to stop her and ask her for drinks. After desert I had to ask for drinks again when she brought our check. Having waited tables before I always understand when servers are crushed, but this was different. The table still had dirty dinner plates stacked on it when we left. Nice place and the food was very good, but the service was totally not there.
I love this place. The food is both wonderful and plentiful. The atmosphere is very charming and inviting. There is usually a bit of a wait, but that's a sign that it's worth waiting for. I would definitely recommend this delightful brunch spot!
Staff was aloof. Food took forever and was nothing special. Hit us with an automatic gratuity charge to top it off
I love the atmosphere and the stained glass and bathtub saladbar.
I really enjoyed my Sunday brunch today! I was there with my family and we all enjoyed our mimosas, bloody Mary's, and food! The environment and decor is welcoming and trendy, yet historical.
Great time with wife, Angie, Emma, Jessica, Michael. Great food, I had the meatloaf mash potatoes black bean soup, bread, sweet tea and for dessert hot walnut chocolate pie with ice cream, all so super good
Very nice place. Could have had more attentive service. Good food.
I thought their brunch buffet would be amazing (I ve heard great things about it), but perhaps I expected too much. The first time we went, it was a Sunday after church so perhaps that s why they were so busy. The salmon was chewy, cheese grits were good, and the strawberry/ pink yoghurt tasted nice. I remember leaving thinking it wasn t worth the 30 minute wait time.
The second time we came (today), it was even more subpar quality than the first time despite it being a lot slower and a Saturday. I couldn t bear to eat the salmon because it was chewier than before/ appeared to have been left out a while. I was even let down by the tasty cheese grits this time, which were lukewarm. I did enjoy the yogurt again and the fresh bagel we asked them to set out for us. Also, the hot chocolate looked good (I didn t drink it though so I can t say how it tasted).
Overall there are better brunch places out there, but perhaps if you want a view of the Monument houses and to enjoy the aesthetics of Strawberry Street Cafe which has nice art/ arch architecture inside- it may be worth trying. FYI: I ve yet to try their non-buffet food so this is only based on their buffet.
Small place. Fast service. Breakfast buffet great. She crab soup the best.
The food is always phenomenal, and so are the mimosas. We had great service, and such a nice environment to hang out in.
The tub boat salad bar and a little soup makes for a great dinner!!
Nice and friendly atmosphere with good food and service... Definitely will dine there again
I visited this establishment for the first time in two years and found myself dissatisfied. The buffet brunch was less than stellar. The bacon was cold and the other food items were luke warm. I was sadly disappointed because this restaurant is a staple in the Richmond Fan community. For the price we paid, we should have gone to the Boathouse or the Jefferson Hotel. Sadly, this was my last visit.
Food was so good!! And the staff was friendly. If you're looking for decent crab cakes this is definitely the place to go!
Great spot with an amazing salad bar and a comfy cozy vibe.
Great breakfast buffet, lots of options, my husband had that and said everything was good. I had the eggs Benedict which was really good too. The place is bigger inside than it looks outside.
Great food, good atmosphere. A good brunch destination. Their sausage gravy was delicious and they kept the buffet well stocked.
One of our favorite places in the city. Food and service are always great. We love the salad bar and fresh soups.
Unfortunately Strawberry Street Cafe provides a good meal, but not the outstanding food they have served in years past. There are other options in Richmond's Fan District.
Staff is knowledgable about celiac sprue. Kitchen will make your meal gf if at all possible .
Well, food was ok , nothing original. The salad bar was ok. Food tasted good not great. NOTHING WAS WRONG but I weren't very impressed.
Great food, incredible service, charming location. Wish we lived closer!
Staff was friendly and it was clean. I thought it was so creative that part of the buffet was actually inside a clawfoot tub. Good was excellent. Didn't care for the gravy. It reminded me of the gravy that is served at McDonald's. Im sorry, just being honest. Some people like it but I am not a fan of it but everything was perfect so I definitely will recommend and will be back!
This is probably the 6th or 7th time I have eaten here and it just keeps getting better!!
We didn't eat here, but once I entered it smelled like a bathroom. My friend and I couldn't stand it so we left. I'm not sure if it's because the cafe is about to close, but it was terrible
on their way out food was terrible... it was my wife and moms go to
We went for brunch recently & for not having a lot of space, there was a lot on the bar & it was so good. Fluffy eggs, biscuit & gravy was great, fruit was good, yummy cinnamon rolls & more & of course the regular salad fixin's.
A staple of the area for quite some time. Relaxing atmosphere with a good selection on the menu. A few drafts to close from, and an old tub as a centrepiece for a gourmet salad bar make it unique. The food is good and sometimes hit or miss, staff friendly. Definitely a place to check out, but don't expect to be blown away.
Cute little place with a bathtub salad bar. Food was really good
Really Good food and service. Try the House dressing on the salad bar. Diana was friendly and makes a perfect Arnold Palmer.
It was AMAZING!!! Lydia is well with visiting again! Her service was well beyond expectation and Trevor s bar tending was phenomenal!
Only ever go for weekend brunch buffet but it's excellent. Good atmosphere, never too crowded or loud.
Love it. Everytime. Even if it can get busy and nosiey.
Excellent service, excellent food. Must go place. Our server katherine was incredible.
Cute cafe, good for brunch, mimosas in pitchers and excellent coffee.
Service was fast and friendly (on a Sunday afternoon we made a reservation but didn't need it as there were several tables available). But, food was sub-par.
Went for a business meeting during lunch time. I had the salad bar and a crab dip. Both tasted fresh and were yummy. Thhe atomosphere was quiet and pleasant. It was busy but no wait for service. The resturant itself was clean.
Not really a cafe but it's a nice restaurant. Very Friendly staff.
Great comfort food. A classic Richmond spot. Lots of craft beer and a seasonal menu. Bathtub salad bar always a treat.
Not bad...good food...got the all you can eat breakfast and salad bar...hot food luke warm and plates dirty...would go back
Nice place to have a good time with friends or family.
Good place for quick lunch. Good food prices and really hard to leave there hungry still.
There were 5 in our party and none of us were happy with our food. I had Mac n Cheese as a side and it was so oily. The only reason I gave them a 2 was bc we had a really good waiter.
A delicious breakfast and fast service made our morning here at Strawberry Street Cafe memorable. The Adam's favorite omelet was unique, although it was a bit unevenly prepared. My wife's omelet was same, being half folded egg, the other half vegetables.
They advertise the breakfast bunch bar which looked alright, but a little weak on the breakfast end of it.
We may come back for the atmosphere and the shopping on Strawberry Street.
We went to brunch this morning. When we arrived, there were few people. Our order was slow coming out and two of the three breakfasts were cold. They had obviously been sitting in the kitchen. My first Belgian waffle was very heavy and cold. The second one came out, warmer, but with no fruit, syrup, or butter. I guess I was supposed to save everything. It will be a lot more years before I return.
Great brunch. The huevos rancheros and sunrise burrito are awesome
Nice nice salad bar with reasonable pricing which includes soup too. Great place for lunch and meeting
Met with family to eat lunch. Like the spot from years ago. Tired of same things after many trips there. If u have never beem, by all means GO cause I think you will love it.
Great food and fantastic service. Hard parking for larger vehicles.
Great casual restaurant don't miss the bathtub salad bar.
Has new ownership, changing name and concept soon, but the new ownership didn't work to keep the reputation of Strawberry Street Cafe while it was still open, which loses credibility with current customers who would have come back to try the new concept. I will not come back to try it. Such a shame.
A place with wonderful potential, very nice and cozy, the food did not seem very special, especially for the price, it is not expensive, it is not very cheap either. The American breakfast plate comes with sausages, very tasty, the egg is good, accompanied by a muffin, it is little, but it brings a cup with golden potatoes with candied onions, to tell the truth they were cold and a little hard, I think they were not so fresh. I tried some French toast and didn't like it
Love this place. Everything is delicious, from steak tips to the classic bathtub salad bar.
New owners suck but great service by one waitress while the owners stood at the bar. Hopefully they keep her because they will never make it. Good food
I went here for brunch on mother's day. It was crowded so we had to sit at the bar. I had the crab cake sandwich which was very good. Our server was pleasant. Nice atmosphere.
Strawberry Street Cafe was clean moderately quiet and the service by Raychel was at suppurb! She was attentive and accurate with our order. The food way wonderfully prepared and flavorful. The price was moderate and the wine selection was narrow but well thought out. Give this place a try. This way my 1st visit but will not be my last....stay tuned
The turkey club sandwich was dry with mayo. The crab soup was butter soup, no crackers and no utensil. The supervisor stated they were concerned about the environment. I can not support this place of business
On my last visit my best friend and I had the bathtub buffet which is what we normally order. We had requested some sausage links to be brown but when waitress brought them to our table they were burnt to point most of the meat in the middle was pretty much non existent very unacceptable usually very good visits here but the last one was most definitely not a good visit
Went late afternoon hardly any people there so we figured we would get our dinner quickly. However we thought wrong
We had a very nice young lady taking our order. We waited & waited and finally I got my waitress attention and said we were very hungry and was there a problem why we had to wait so long. She left & finally a person came from the back later with our delicious sandwiches. We had to get attention to refill our beverages too. Now, mind you there were only a handful of customers.
Consistently good food; "bathtub" salad bar is a Richmond favorite; new decor made for worse accoustics though.
