I would absolutely give them a 10+. The people were were so nice and treated us like family instead of clients. I would encourage anyone to go and experience how well you are treated at Stokes Automotive especially by Monica and Brad and I am sorry that I forgot the other ones name but he was in the Army. I was in the Navy bud. Let's not forget Kara treated us with great respect. Thanks to all of you. We will be back.

We have purchased 3 vehicles but service department is awful. My car still isn't fixed and smells like antifreeze also mechanic left tool on motor and my husband found it. I had get ugly get rental after had my car week. Seats still torn waiting on parts.

Had an outstanding experience trading my older car...

Had an outstanding experience trading my older car and buying a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. From calling the day before to arriving and looking for the car it was a great experience. Brad was the salesman and there was absolutely no pressure and he was very patient, knowledgable and helpful. The entire staff was nice, easy to deal with and wanted to make sure we were taken care of. My wife and I are both very pleased with the experience. Thank you.

Larry and Doug made our purchase very straight forward and easy. I don't like to spend hours in a sales room with the old "let me talk to my manager"stuff. Stokes seems to understand how valuable time is and made our purchase very efficient. Also, their ad "we beat the big city prices" turned out to be true. I would recommend talking to Stokes for your next vehicle purchase.

Rating 1 star because they ripped my brother off. Their service department was told not to do a diagnosis because he already had one and wanted to know if he still had a warranty to do anything. He left his Jeep there because he had to go to work. They called and told him it would not be covered but they did the diagnosis anyway when he told them not to so they are charging him over $100 for something he specifically told them NOT to do.

Had the best experience with Stokes Automotive and Shane Aldridge. The whole staff was amazing! Made sure I knew what was going on during the whole process, and if I had any questions they made sure they were answered. Will definitely be back to purchase vehicles in the future!

Monica and Brad are awesome!! They worked hard to get me approved for a Malibu and before I made my first payment, someone else was driving and totaled it. A week later, they had me in a Buick Encore! If you need someone on your side, that will work for and with you, go see Monica Q. at Stokes in Clanton!! They have made me very happy, twice this year!!

Certified dealership and repair shop. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

Dropped off truck for warranty repair and they didn't add anything else to what they found needing repairs. Was very happy that they were truthful.

I had it looked at by 2 other certified repair shops... So I knew exactly what was needed.

I will be back and use them again, depending on how good they fix it. Im still waiting for it... Have to take my entire engine out to fix two leaks...

Over the past couple of years I have purchased three vehicles, each time I have tried to buy locally.
So I tried to do business with Stokes, I don't know how this place has any returning customers. Each time I was greeted by either an inept sales person or an arrogant one, nether of which I have patience for. I simply ask for best out the door price, no games or gimmicks.
Guess that's unheard of at that dealership.
Was told I needed to have a sit down with sales manager to prove I was serious about buying a vehicle, before they would give me their best price.
Done giving you an opportunity, local or not, further more am sharing my disappointing experiences with anyone I talk to that is in the market for a vehicle.
Left Stokes discussed, and made a pleasant purchase from Brewbaker in Prattville the same day this last visit.

The dealership was very responsive to my initial c...

The dealership was very responsive to my initial contact, but that ended pretty quickly. I wanted to get a price quote for a factory order because no dealership within hundreds of miles had a vehicle with the features I wanted. They gave me a proposal with a price that was higher than even what the GMC website gave.

I had also contacted other GMC dealerships in the same fashion. I called back with the lowest proposal I had received. The sales manager simply responded "I guess you should go there then, have a nice day." and hung up. They did not seem interested in making a sale at all unless it was something they currently had on their lot or if I paid MSRP. Definitely would not recommend this dealer to anyone else.

I recently purchased a serra xlt, then I took my wife and i got her a Denali, both match in color and everyone was so helpful, Jeff pope and Doug went out of there way to make her feel so welcome. We are now a GMC family because of the Stokes family.

Mr. Burnett was very friendly and helpful. It was the best buying experience we have had in a long time. With some of the other local dealerships we were rushed and pushed into signing paperwork before we even knew if we liked the vehicle. Mr. Burnett answered all questions we had and let us take our time deciding on the vehicle we wanted. When we did decide, the staff was great in getting the best deal, and cheapest payments. Next time we go car shopping we will definitely be going to stokes and dealing with Mr. Burnett

My husband and I purchased a beautiful GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 All Terrain Package on August 31, 2016. We had an amazing experience with the online sales representative, Janet, the salesman, Jeff, and the sales manager, Mike. We searched for a vehicle for more than a month. After deciding on what we actually wanted, the search was on. After visiting some of Stokes' competitors, not to mention any names, (McKinnon, Hendricks in Hoover, and about 15 others) we were very happy to find the one at Stokes. They know what they are doing. If you want a personable experience from a business that don't jerk your leg or feed you false hope for vehicles that they don't even have on the lot, go to Stokes. I promise you won't be disappointed! Seriously, I will recommend them to anyone and everyone. I hope they never stop putting the customer first.

I am very disappointed as we were contacted Friday and they wanted to try get me in a car. Never heard back from them my husband called them back Saturday and he was told sorry I forgot about it..i will go check on it now...and get back with u. Well here it is tuesday and no one has still contacted us. Very disappointed in the sales dept. Should have been contacted either way!!!!!!

Would be 0 stars if I could. Had a very bad experience with this dealership. I had been looking for a car for a minute and stokes was one of the lots I visited. One week later I get a call from one of the Managers by the name of Doug Tomasili asking "how they can earn my business". So I told him and they did it. While trying to get everything approved by my loan person Doug calls to see if I got the information. I tell him I did. After spending about 5 hours at the loan office. I get a call from one of the salesmen saying the car had been sold. Just about to leave the bank and head that way I get this call. It was very upsetting. So I took a trip up to clanton which is about 30 miles from me. The sales man Brandon tried his best to get me in a another vehicle just like it but the manager Doug kept saying he couldn't get that car to the price I needed. Doug told me to give him until Tuesday (being Labor Day weekend) to find me another car. I literally called Doug 100 times he never talked to me or tried to call me back I left a message and still no call back. On that Thursday I got a text from the internet sales manager Angie saying to call my salesman that my car was ready. So I called my salesman Juston he told me he didn't know what I was talking about. After we got off the phone about 5 minutes later she text me apologizing. I sent back a polite OK and ask her if she can tell Doug to call me asap. And she said she would, I still didn't hear from him. So I made a special trip up there on that Saturday to see if he was there he avoided me. When one the salesman went in his office to ask him what was up he said "he called me 15 times and never left a message". The problem I have with this is if he knew I called him why not call me back. I really think they knew the car was sold before he tried to get me up there with a check because he kept trying to put me in an Impala after I told him man times I didn't want that vehicle. The only person that would talk to me was Juston Martin who was my salesman from the jump but I didn't get much out of him everyday it was the same thing "we haven't given up on you, we're still looking". I just wanted them to make it right! I also called the other manager Mike who's on the commercial left him a message and no call back. I would not recommend this lot for anyone.

I came in looking to get thermostat replaced over my warranty. Warranty didn t cover it so I told them not to worry about it then charged me for a diagnostics for something I already knew... UPDATE. I drove back up there to speak with the manager and spoke to the i assume owner or owner son. He immidiately called off the fee and shook hands. The problem with the employee/ manager still should be more respectful to customers. Gave them 2 stars now instead of 1.

IM BACK. I came to stokes the other day cause they told me that I could get a newer version of my car but for cheaper payment. So we talk to one of their sales managers and they said they were gonna run my credit just to look at it. THEY LIED. I now have EIGHT hard inquiries from them running my credit to multiple different loaners. I WILL NEVER COME BACK. Stokes is the worst customer service dealership. All they want is your money weather they screw you over or not. I would give 0 stars if I could.

The web site was very helpful in being able to compare trucks we liked vs ones not as much. We couldn't find the one we came to look at, come to find out they have an overflow parking lot. We visited about a dozen dealers in Alabama, Stokes had the best inventory. Our salesman Lance was real nice to talk to, he let my wife and I talk things through and offered advice only when we got stuck on a question. We worked out a price that we came to agree on. But what was almost the deal breaker was the finance person. This person, was a little rude, short and not really prepared to talk to us. When I wanted to slow things down and figure out a solution to a problem he could have avoided he started rushing us some more, wouldn't let me call our bank or anything. He just wanted all the paperwork done and signed. If he would have read all the papers he would have seen we were looking for a better interest rate that 2.25. Instead he had one for over 3 and had to then begin searching for other rates. But because we were almost done, and figured I could figure out the problem on my own we stuck with the deal. I was about 5 seconds from ripping everything up and walking out. But Lance working hard for us saved the deal, along with my wife keeping me calm. I really didn't like that experience part and hope it was just a bad day or something was going wrong where he wasn't thinking about us as customers. It was a little longer than we liked, but I got a brand new dodge ram with the price I was comfortable with. Great experience otherwise, would recommend them with the warning of get prepared for the finance guy. Everyone else was nice and went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and taken care of. Lance explained everything for us and if he didn't have the answer he quickly found someone who did. Poor guy worked through his lunch to help us finish the deal. Should have taken him out to lunch when we were done. Anyway, my only mark down is for the finance department. They didn't know what the customer said we were looking for. Could have taken a little more time to maybe ask us questions to make sure before throwing a bunch of papers at us to sign with no more than a few words. Should have looked at all the papers Lance sent back to him. So when it came to payment, he kept trying to push us out of the office without us talking to our finance people to get them paid. Basically said to go deal with Lance on it. If that was the case, then maybe Lance should have done his job too. Anyway, I may not be completely happy on how it went down, but I am happy with my new dodge ram!

I highly recommend them, this has been the only pain-free sales experience I have encountered, far exceeding my expectations! They ran credit on the phone and I informed them how much I had to put down on a vehicle, I gave him all of my information over the phone and this same sells person told me they had gotten me approved to bring proof of residence, drivers license, and most recent pay stub. Long story short I was there from 2pm til 5pm for them to tell me they needed $1500 more than what I had already informed I had in the beginning before I drove over an hour to them

I had a great buying experience with Stokes! Gil was my salesperson and was very laid back and informative. I was looking at a Jeep Wrangler and this being my first Jeep, he more than adequately went over the features and explained a number of things on the test drive. Due to the pandemic, distancing precautions were followed by the entire staff but they still managed to make this a pleasant and personable buying experience! I also want to mention Doug who finalized a fair selling price on my trade-in as well as Miranda in finance who breezed through the final portions of the sale and got me through the whole process in just about 3 hours. Great job, great people, and great service!!!

After driving over an hour with all 4 of our child...

After driving over an hour with all 4 of our children to purchase a vehicle which had already been test drove & money agreed on, they sold the car out from under us knowing we were on the way making that trip. They called us as we were pulling into the dealership to let us know . They didn t call us initially when other interest was shown to give us a heads up, and allowed us to make the entire trip. When we confronted this situation, we were told that someone present took presidency over someone on the way. So in other words , they have no regards or respect for potential buyers. Customer service is poor and management is argumentative. Very disappointing for this dealership.

Was charged $135 for the service department to hoo...

Was charged $135 for the service department to hook up a CPU and tell me they were going to charge me another $400 on top of that for a $20 part and 60 second fix. Purely ridiculous. Customer service was extremely sub-par at best as well. Lesson learned and would not recommend to anyone.

Management is horrible. They don't know how to do employees raises and never do as well they dont pay people enough to start with and some of their supervisors need a class in how to treat and talk to personnel in their own department as well as to how to treat them.

had difficulty cranking my truck and the panel showed several conflicting error messages along with a check engine warning light. Additionally, I received a text from GMC that my truck needed servicing within one day due to transmission problems. I took the truck to Stokes Service Dept. and explained the problem to Justin. Justin gave me a truck which allowed me to return to work and meet my previously scheduled appointments. He assured me that he will have the problem diagnosed and get back to me ASAP.

Later that afternoon, Justin called with great news - I only had a battery failure and the truck was trying to operate on the second battery which was also failing. Justin could have have easily told me that I had transmission problems and, with the supporting text from GMC, the diagnosis would have been believable. Instead, he was happy to tell me, it was only the batteries that needed to be replaced. Justin explained that the low voltage caused the sensors to generate false warnings and there were no additional issues with the truck.

Remember, you can buy a vehicle at any dealership, but it s the Service Department that makes the difference in supporting your purchase. If you want honest estimates and family style treatment, you want to take your vehicle to Stokes for service and repair.

I recently purchased a 2015 Chevrolet 3500HD LTZ from Stokes Automotive and I was most impressed with the overall professional and hospitable attitude of your personnel. Everyone I dealt with were very helpful and proficient at their jobs. Dustin Headley was the sales consultant I dealt with, and I couldn't have had a better sales person. I felt I was treated like a friend more so than a customer. This is the best buying experience I have ever experienced and I actually worked for a car dealership years ago. The staff at Stokes Automotive are a compliment to your dealership. I will highly recommend your dealer and staff to my friends and relatives.

I love the service dept at stokes they take care of you like your family. Shaun Hobbs is very knowledgeable in his feild and makes sure your taken care of and let's you know exactly where your at any time your vehicle is tere. In my opinion there service dept is the best in the Southeast.

Was pleased with the experience of buying a car from this dealership. Sales person was pleasant and easy to work with. We discussed what we were looking for and he was able to pull up four different cars for us to look at that fit the bill. We test drove what we thought we liked best and decided that it was. We purchased the vehicle and if I plan on buying again I will consider Stokes as a first stop for shopping.

I purchased a Certified Used RAM 3500 from Stokes ...

I purchased a Certified Used RAM 3500 from Stokes on 5-30-17 with an extended powertrain warranty. I felt the purchase process went very well. Before the purchase I had spoken with the Service and Sales team about this specific vehicle several times. The discovery and research done before this purchase all checked out well, therefore the purchase was finalized. The only assured but open item left at the time of purchase was for them to get me a second key. I have not yet received this item.

As of 8-23-17, which is less than 3 months and 2500 miles since I purchased this vehicle, it has been in the repair shop at Stokes three times. First, the truck had a coolant leak; second, the transmission was stuck in fourth gear, and the third trip was for an electronic breaking system service alert. After the second visit, the service team did another review of the vehicle and assured me they did not find anything else wrong at that time.

At the time of the third repair visit, I requested that the Stokes sales team give me a price on a different vehicle on their lot. I was very surprised when I received the quote for the other vehicle. For starters, they did not lower the price at all compared to the internet price. Second, they did not provide rebates that RAM says are available on their website. Third, the offer for my existing 3500 was lower than I owe on the vehicle. This was a real surprise considering all the issues I have had and the fact that I had 6K positive equity in the vehicle I traded them before for their 3500 RAM, which has only had complications. I received a quote via text from the sales rep and in turn, sent him all the information above about our prior deal. I did not receive a response. I went the next day to pick my truck up and discuss in person with them my above concerns. When I arrived, I asked if my truck was ready and if the deal had been updated. I was informed that this was the best and final and there was nothing more he could do. He gave me my keys and I departed Stokes.

I think the most disappointing thing with this whole process has been the customer service I have received. I have not received a single call from Management to discuss any of these issues. I had to initiate most all the contact that has occurred with Stokes, and that has taken many calls and texts to get any response too.

Before posting this review, I had also sent a similar message to the management personnel and the sales person I have worked with. I did this because Stokes website clearly asks if you have a negative review to please send them a direct message. At this point, the message still has not been returned and if that does change I will certainly update my review.

I would strongly not recommend doing business with Stokes, as they seem to only be interested in getting their customers to purchase a vehicle and not interested in building long-term relationships with their customers. I usually purchase vehicles about every other year and at this point would not consider Stokes for myself or any other member of my immediate family. Which I do regret, as they are a local business and I would like to be able to show my support.

Let me start out by saying that I have never posted a review for any reason, good or bad, for any business. But, I just got off the phone with a service rep named Mike. Was trying to get a Dodge 3500 worked on this week. Today is Monday and I told him that I really needed the truck by next Monday. Asked if he could get to it. I was told that the earliest appointment would be in January. Today is November 27. I would hate to buy a truck from them and have to be down a month before it could be fixed. Maybe they treat customers different that buy the vehicle from them. I probably won't ever fall into that category after this experience with the service department.
