The food and service was good and Alex Bugnon was just fantastic his band was off the hook, my husband enjoyed his birthday!
Nighttown is wonderful, we highly recommend it! Having seen around a dozen or so dinner shows with nary a hitch** in either dinner or show, I think I'm in love. If you love world-class jazz, good food and great atmosphere... why in the world would you not make a night of it and go to Nighttown? ** Once there was a small hiccup but that might have been my fault, I'm not sure...it was a seating glitch and I may have misheard the hostess seating us. Either way when I brought it to owner Brendan Ring's attention he made it right immediately.
Very friendly staff. Very good selection of beverages. Decent selection of food items. Amazing music.
A cozy restaurant and entertainment center. If you buy tickets and dinner, arrive early to pick your seats. We enjoyed the Take 6 concert and dinner.
Food is amazing! Social distance between tables is very well thought out
Extremely pricey. Excellent food everything is made from scratch.
Was very excited to take my son to see Stanley Jordan, a guitar legend, play there.
Arrived an hour before the show and found the best seat we could. The tables were arranged in long rows with almost no space between them. If you wanted to go to the restroom it was almost like being in an airplane where everyone had to move or get up for you to get out. God forbid there should be a fire there.
Ordered our food just after 7:00pm. At 8:00 pm I asked the (mostly absent) waitress if the kitchen was mad at me. At 8:15pm I decided I wasn't going to pay $50 to wait over an hour to eat and I cancelled our order.
Around 8:30pm the waitress came out with our plates and asked if we still wanted it. At any other restaurant they would have apologized and given it to you for free. That really wasn't possible here because all the other people, packed in like sardines around you, also waited that long and it would start a flurry of people insisting they also get money off their meal.
The place is divided into several parts. Whenever the music was quiet and you wanted to really pay attention to it... All you could hear was the dull roar from the other side of the restaurant and the laughing drunks at the bar.
It is a very cool looking place with lots of potential... It is currently not a very comfortable place due to the over crowded seating plus a wait staff, bar, and kitchen which could not come close to keeping up with the patrons needs.
Personally, I would rather pay 50% more for the show and the food and have them remove a third of the seats... Then the place would be closer to magical...
Awesome place!!! The music was incredible and the food was absolutely amazing! I would definitely recommend you check it out!
I love the food and atmosphere here, and was really disappointed when my waitress brought a straw for me with her hands, and put the straw into my class of water. I looked shocked, and she asked if I had a problem with that. She told me that that was the only way to bring them out. I let her know that I was not going to drink that water, that I knew they had napkins there, if nothing else, for bring straws to customers. She brought back another glass of water, with the straw in a short glass with a napkin inside, like she should/could have done, at first.
I have never been to any restaurant where the waiter/waitress takes their hand, with their fingers on the top, and inserts the straw, for a customer. With all the diseases, and hand washing problems in this world, that was disgusting! (And, I know she knew better!)
The service was great the food could have been better
Best patio on east side. Perfect stop if on way to museums or for legit jazz live music
As a first timer really enjoyed Hubbs Groove, the food was a little pricey and not a big selection, the mixed drinks too but not too bad, now the seating leaves a lot to be desired it's tight especially with that crowd, but once that band got in gear you forgot about that we enjoyed it will return again.
Service is absolutely terrible. I tend to go later in the evening after the shows are over with a few friends for a late night meal and the past 2 times we were there the service was horrible. The first time our waitress came to our table twice and then went home without even saying a word to us. The other employees had no idea she left and we had to ask for service. The 2nd time we were there was last night and we had to wait 45 min for our food at which our waiter was never seen during this wait, and the table next to us received their food 10 before us when they got there 20 min after us. I frequently eat out and I don't think I'll ever go back. Their food is amazing despite all this.
Wonderful wedding reception venue or cozy/funky date night place. The crabcakes are the best in Cleveland, and that's saying something.
Really delicious and flavorful food one of my favorite restaurants. Also the live music is a nice touch.
The staff and atmosphere is what brings me back time after time. And the food is great.
Server (never mentioned his name) no greetings, not personable, not even a thank you or good bye. As an ex server his "service" was horrible. I left feeling like my money or energy wasn't appreciated. He was left a 20% tip and still not a single manner. Please hire servers that can do a better job at hiding his disdain for people of color as he was all laughs, giggles, and respect with the others at the table next to us. I wish I could not give a star at all.
Excellent service, food & atmosphere. They also serve latest in the Heights area for quality food.
There was only one vegan dish on the menu - eggplant cannelloni - which was good, but disappointed there were no other choices. Noise level high, making it difficult to hear our good friends
Stopped in for a light supper tonight because it's Thursday. Best clam chowder in Cleveland and a really good cheese and charcuterie board. Loved it! Back here next time for sure!
Great atmosphere.
Great food.
And most importantly, amazing musicians! Nighttown is known for the spectacular groups that come and play.
I don't understand how this place is so highly rated. When I went, as soon as I was seated I knew it was going to be rough. My table was in a back hallway facing a stack of chairs. I had to crane my neck to see the stage. I ordered the incredibly overpriced food and it was okay. I had dinner I could make at home for a fraction of the price. Then, the show was an hour and a half late. I kept trying to get the check but the waitress never came close to the dark creepy hallway I was seated in. After all that, I was charged an automatic 20% gratuity which I did not think was earned. Would not recommend- save your money
Every seat was a good one. Parking was close. Will be back.
Music is great. The restaurant itself is a little hectic and the food is pricey for average food. But there was a lot of old people and old people tend to like bland food. So maybe they love it and that's the biggest demographic I saw the night I went.
Last Saturday afternoon I went to Nighttown to have a casual lunch. I hadn't been there in months. I sat alone at a table talking on the phone with a friend, waiting for my food. There weren't many people there. While I was eating my lunch, I looked down and saw a mouse running across the floor toward me. I looked twice cause I didn't believe my eyes. I stomped the floor to make the mouse run away from me and it mysteriously disappeared under the seats against the wall. I told 2 of the wait staff and they didn't appear to be surprised. I spoke to a manager and she quietly said it would be taken care of. I have frequented Nighttown for many years. I was totally shocked by what I saw and even more upset by the nonchalant response I received from the staff. Filthy mice around my food, especially while I'm eating, is a health hazard and totally uncalled for.
Food is fantastic, the lighting is perfect, thr music room is nice also. We had Veronica as our sever and she was just amazing, she is on point, takes pride in her work, always is making sure everyone is happy, always has a smile on her face too! Very good employee! Very hard working! Keep it up!
Went to a company Christmas party there it was great food was awesome
Very good food, a fun menu, and world-class live music make NighTown a favorite.
My review is based on the corned beef sandwich meal I had at Nighttown on March 17th (St Patrick's Day). It was expensive and not worth half the cost. The corned beef sandwich was about 1/4 the size of a corned beef at Slyman's. Plus, the cost of the Corned Beef sandwich at Nighttown, was about double the cost of a corned beef sandwich at Slyman's. Maybe they should use a scale, to make sure customers get an adequate amount of corned beef for the price charged to the customer.
We ordered green beer. I asked the waiter what kind of beer it was and he said he didn't know. I asked the waiter if I could get my corned beef on the lean side and he said they could not do that at the restaurant. On the second floor they should have had more than one bartender.
Came for dinner and to see Forecast. Excellent show. The food did not disappoint. The staff was friendly and fast despite how packed the place was. Would definitely come back for another show or even just dinner.
Menu has been disappointing lately, especially their desserts. Music is always top notch. Service remains fine. I'll come back for the jazz.
Atmosphere was good, food was good, service was the worst I've had in a long time. Could have been a fluke server, but it was embarrassingly bad.
Nice for shows if you are a jazz fan. Great food and cheaper options if you sit at the bar.
Very nice restaurant, I've been coming to for years. Unfortunately, this time the waitress we had was very bad and the meal we ordered was worst. The meal and the wine my dinner partner ordered was removed from the bill and an apology was given by the owner and eventually the waitress.
Excellent place to listen to live music and eat some good "ribs"
Love the quiet marble top side of the bar. Always my go to spot. Great beef carpaccio and Muhammad is always working hard for everyone. Such a great place.. a true staple of Cleveland heights.
Nice music. Very good burger. Service was decent too. 20% is added automatically, fyi. Wish they would add a rule about NOT pounding on the tables, i was seated across from a man who really got into the music and BANGED LOUD and HARD on the table for the entire show.
With a familiar feel in the popular Fairmount Hill neighborhood on the way downtown, Nighttown is always a good choice. Try the mussels, hamburger, Louisiana salad or salmon. The restaurant has been there for years and somehow never seems worn, but always feels classic.
Always great! The Dublin lawyer and Halloumi kabobs were wonderful. Very good service
I have been to Nighttown twice in the last month and both times were great. The food is delicious and the entertainment fantastic. A gem in Cleveland. The only problem the second time was a fraternity party had taken over the main room and we were put out on the new patio. It was great but they stuffed people in there and it was overcrowded and people were asked to share their tables with complete strangers. Some said yes and some said no. Those who declined were given a stern look by the gentleman trying to seat all the people who came expecting to be in the big room. We had a reservation, but I am glad we got there when we did or we would not have had anywhere to sit. The music was amazing and worth the trip. We also had the gratuity on our check for a table of only 3 when it is only supposed to be put on tables of 6 or more. I am a good tipper but did not like that it was already on my bill.
One of my favorite places to dine. Food is great. They bring in some good entertainment also
Good service, food, atmosphere. Bring many quarters for parking meters. Our dining room was perfect to hear Ted Ganger and the piano while a band played in another area. Very nice
Amazing dinner, great service. Will definitely go again!
Go to for lunch...atmosphere friendly! Service is very good. Always a great visit!
Went for a concert, jazz. Good food and excellent music.
We were a table of 17 and they did a great job of serving excellent food we would go back again
Terrific Hamburger and the French Fries were awful..
Not into concerts here...tables are all crowded together and it's almost impossible to leave your seat, service is incredibly slow, yet with built in 20%tip, and it was very hot.
Exceeded my expectations of comfort food..and this was a "to go" meal...staff is extremely kind
NIGHTTOWN itself was GREAT. However the owner needs a better valet company. ALL VALET company left the key inside our car which caused problems. First our car wasn't locked. Second couldn't find the key. Never apologized. After words were exchanged we were told not to come back again. This is not good for NIGHTTOWN. STILL WANT AN APOLOGY from ALL VALET for THEIR MISTAKE!!!!
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. GREAT FOOD GREAT ENTERTAINMENT
