Beautiful environment! From forest to sand drift and then heathland again. Really very beautiful. The free bikes that you can borrow are top notch and well maintained and you can follow various cycling routes via an app! Just a pity that we have not seen any animals but we have cycled wonderfully!

Beautiful park! The best part is the free cycles to ride and explore this amazing area. So many different landscapes and views and the trail is mostly along a canopy of trees or vast grasslands . Well maintained. Will be back !

The best! Don't hesitate, just go. Nice part of the Netherlands. White cycling concept is great; you grab a bike at the entrance and can enjoy touring through the park. Different types of nature, open plains, forests, sand drift, etc.
Only point of attention for the park itself; place a little more signage. Along the way you sometimes wonder if you are still cycling in the right direction.

Beautiful nature park where you can cycle. Very good that white bicycles are free to use to get from the parking lot outside the park to the center of the park for example.
Tandem rental also turned out to be cheap but 5 euros per person.

You can indulge yourself here as a nature lover. Also a nice restaurant. Good food and the white bikes are always top !!! And when the renovation is complete, the play area will be more accessible for the children

It was a beautiful day today. Not too hot, a nice breeze. We picked a white bicycle at the entrance of Otterlo and cycled around all day. The bikes were in excellent condition as were the bike paths. We have even seen a deer. The tour in the hunting lodge was somewhat lengthy but well worth it for the youngest.

Nice area for walking or cycling on the free-to-use white bicycles via excellent cycle paths through a rolling landscape, forest, heath and sand drifts. You can spot game depending on the time of day. A party every time.

The room was nice and so was the staff. I liked that the sauna could be reserved for private use. The swimming pool was also nice.

The only negative point was that there were not a lot of vegetarian choices for the breakfast. There was cereal and bread and croissant but the scrambled eggs were mixed with bacon.

Nature is always good, not particular specialities, though.
The museum in the park is very good.
They have quite a lot of Vincent van Gogh's.
Not only the exhibits, but the way the museum stand is excellent. Surroundings and windows, outside garden, are in a good combination.

Beautiful park also with internal camper van services. Worth a day and maybe more for relaxation and greenery. It has lots of bikes at its disposal and a concrete track among unspoiled nature to travel fluids. It closes at 8pm but you can get in and out on foot or by bike (only your own) even if outside after 8pm there is only an open pub. But sometimes that's enough.

About Stichting Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe

Stichting Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe: A Green Treasure of the Netherlands

Stichting Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe is a non-profit organization that manages and maintains one of the largest and most diverse nature reserves in the Netherlands. Located in the province of Gelderland, this national park covers an area of 5,400 hectares and offers visitors a unique combination of natural beauty, art, architecture, and history.

The park was founded in 1935 by Anton Kröller and his wife Helene Müller as a private estate. They were passionate about nature conservation and wanted to create a sanctuary for wildlife where people could also enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, cycling, and horse riding. To make their dream come true, they hired landscape architect J.T.P. Bijhouwer to design the park's layout with different habitats such as forests, heathlands, sand dunes, and ponds.

Today Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe is open to everyone who wants to experience its wonders. The park has several entrances where visitors can buy tickets or use their Museumkaart (a Dutch museum pass) to enter for free. Once inside the park, there are many things to see and do depending on your interests.

Nature & Landscape

One of the main attractions of Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe is its diverse flora and fauna. The park has over 5400 hectares (13 000 acres) with different landscapes such as forests with oak trees or pine trees; heathlands covered with purple heather flowers; sand dunes shaped by wind; grasslands grazed by red deer or wild boar; wetlands inhabited by birds like herons or ducks.

Visitors can explore these habitats on foot or by bike using one of the many trails that crisscross through them. There are also guided tours available led by knowledgeable guides who can explain more about each ecosystem's characteristics.

Art & Architecture

Another unique feature of Het Nationale Park De Hoge Veluwe is its collection of modern art scattered throughout its grounds. The Kröller-Müller Museum houses over 90 paintings from Vincent van Gogh along with works from other famous artists like Pablo Picasso or Piet Mondrian.

In addition to this museum's impressive collection are several sculptures placed around various locations within the park itself - including works from Auguste Rodin - making it an outdoor gallery experience unlike any other!

Historical Stories

Finally yet importantly comes historical stories which add another layer into this already fascinating place! Visitors can learn about how humans have interacted with nature throughout history at various sites within Het Nationale Park de Hoge Veluwe – including ancient burial mounds dating back thousands years ago!

Conclusion:

Het Nationale Park de Hoge Veluwe offers something for everyone – whether you're interested in exploring natural landscapes up close while hiking/biking through them OR admiring world-class artwork/sculptures outdoors OR learning more about human history’s interaction with nature! With so much variety packed into one location it’s no wonder why Stichting het nationaal de hoge veluew has become known as “the green treasure”of Netherlands!
