Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa Review

This is a beautiful and stunning hotel. Very relaxing. Nice clean and tidy gorgeous lobby, huge ballroom. Fun pool and gym room. Rooms are nice and comfortable! Great staff and management.

Stayed here for business trip bed was comfortable and room was clean bar has good food and service

Very nice venue. Attended a ballroom dance competition. Didn't have any interaction with hotel staff, but the overall ambiance is nice.

Elevator to the garage wasn't working and it was needed. Staff was friendly and helpful and the hotel is quiet but my room experience wasn't great. TV was on in room when I arrived at 10:00 pm, floor had not been vacuumed, and toiletries must have been used and not refilled as they were half gone.

We were there for a special event, a dance competition. The event room was beautiful and spacious. All the staff were very pleasant.

Rooms are outdated, the concierge lounge is the worst I've been to, and I've stayed in plenty of lower grade Marriott Hotels that are nicer.

Room was clean, but it looked like the breakfast eggs had too much water in them.

Hotel room was dirty. Parking lot not accessible. Had to walk down flights of steps with luggage. Worst Marriott.

Decent location - walkable to restaurants, but a long walk. The hotel is old (carpet, walls, etc.) and there was a lot of dust in the ceiling panels. Beds we're comfy! Good workout facility and pool area. If I weren't an SPG/Marriott rewards member, I wouldn't stay here again - but since I am and it's significantly cheaper than the Courtyard, I probably will.

Great hotel. Walking distance to the Cheesecake Factory. The hotel has a gym and a pool. Also has nice showers (water pressure was great and there were 2 showerheads) and decently comfortable beds.

I attended a conference here this past weekend and the staff went above and beyond to make everyone's stay memorable. The manager even came up to introduce himself to everyone. It was a Wonderful stay and would do it again.

My stay wasn't long, only one night. However I found the bed very comfortable and the room very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't get a chance to use the pool, but it looked perfect for sunbathing. I'll will definitely go back in the future.

Nice rooms with tv that connects to the YouTube/Hulu apps on your phone, updated clean bathrooms, and friendly staff.

Wonderful rooms, complimentary breakfast till 930am

This is an excellent hotel to stay in when in Stamford. I have stayed here many, many times over the years due to work and have deliberately chosen this hotel over the many available ones in the area. The hotel has a fantastic pool and a two restaurants, one commanding a panoramic view over Stamford.

Older hotel, rooms are acceptable but I personally do not like the beds, not very comfortable. Location. Is the best feature of this hotel if you want a down town hotel in Stamford.

Evening front desk was great, and I had no issues checking in. However, when I went to take a shower that evening, the steam set off the smoke alarm. (Never had this happen before?) They couldn't reset it, and maintenance had to come and pull the alarm, so I then had to change rooms because of the alarm being removed. I changed rooms, but was paranoid about the issue occurring again because Front Desk said that this happens all the time. New room had wallpaper damage due to water from the ceiling? I then realized that the room had poor soundproofing and was next to a train depot, so I got to listen to trains all night long. When I went downstairs to checkout, Front Desk was rude. They also mischarged me instead of my company. (The company had to call to clarify everything.) So if you're okay with cold showers, loud trains, and having your bill messed up, this hotel is for you.

Great service at Northern Lights bar... great food high quality!

The hotel is showing its age. Good location but needs to be renovated.

Honestly, this may be the most run down Marriott I have ever stayed at. Nothing about the hotel felt clean, the ceiling in our room was really low, there was no light in the entry, so I could not see in the closet. When we were in the bar/lounge, the waiter was hitting on my wife every time i stepped away for a minute. The only really good thing i can say is that they are very dog friendly and there was absolutely no issue there.

I've met some nice people here, but I can't believe that they charge an extra 5 dollar for anything that's hot (including cold eggs) in breakfast, even to Marriott Gold (now platinum) members.

Nice overall. Could use an update. No outlets on one half of the room.

A hotel is a hotel in my eyes. It was clean and comfortable.

I was actually stuck between one star and two. The hotel staff were not accommodating to me and I received incorrect information prior to arriving which greatly inconvenienced my stay. The shower opening would have been better with an actual screen or curtain because that opening allowed for pools of water to collect on the bathroom floor after a shower. Additionally, I left my charger there and when I called back for it, I didn't receive a call back with information regarding it as I was told would happen. Two good things I appreciated about this hotel were their security and almond milk during breakfast. I wouldn't patronize this hotel until serious amendments are made to their customer service and rooms.

Nice lounge, nice showers and water pressure, restaurant is decent, it is an older property though and it shows. AC broke in my room, they were quick to fix it but it broke again within about 6 hours.

The bed and pillows were amazing, the room size was great. Alot of great places within walking distance and an on-site parking garage.

Had dinner in the hotel restaurant with a friend , we asked for separate bills . We signed , put our names and room numbers , I crossed the tips column ( European mentality, if you have service charge separate that means that is the tip ) , my colleague didn t crossed it . Next day when we paid the bill , my colleague had a different amount to pay . When asking why and checked again the invoice it was an extra 20 usd in the tips column which she never written in the first place . It was adjusted by the front desk eventually .
Advice , if you don t want to tip just cross the column in the invoice so you will not have the same unpleasant surprise when you check out as we did .

Very nice centrally located hotel. The staff was super friendly and we had a great conference room for our meeting. Looking forward to hosting another meeting there soon.

Perfectly nice large corporate hotel, unexpectedly excellent breakfast. It does need a bit of a refresh but everything was perfectly clean, and the beds were large and comfortable. Easy walking distance to the Town Center style mall, and just a bit further to walk to the row of nightclubs, irish bars, and restaurants in the city center. If you are arriving or departing by train, I do not recommend walking from the station. The sidewalks are mostly broken, many streets are fenced off. Just take a cab for about $6.

I stayed two nights on a business trip. Breakfast buffet was top notch (glad I could expense). The Northern Lights bar was active at night and had a good drink selection. The room itself was standard. Larger than average TV. Room keeping was on point.

Well from what I can say the rooms are clean and the front desk greeted me politely. Now the room service I wouldn't kno about that I met my party in the bar area which they had a stocked bar.

Awesome place! Great service and ambience for functions. Attended a full scale Indian wedding here!

Well, the experience was wonderful! The rooms were perfect sizes, the business center was GREAT, and overall, the location was put in good use. The hotel was near the Cheesecake Factory and a mall, so no driving was needed! I would recommend this hotel to others.

Disappointed in this hotel. This property is behind the times 20 years & is in need of rehab. Should not be considered a Marriott. Beds are old, tv is a small & old & the room needs an update.

We stayed here for our sons Wedding on Dec. 15, 2018 with many of our out of town guests. The Staff at the hotel was phenomenal. We were treated very well and all of our needs were met. Thank you for an enjoyable experience. I reccomend staying here!

it is an ok Marriott, does look like it need a refresher soon

Set right in the middle of town and about 6 blocks off of interstate 95. There a great shopping across the street. Rooms are standard, spacious and clean. The grounds all around were great. Nice weight room and pool. I was there for a retreat, we got great service in the conference room. There were several space with other activities but nothing overlapped. We all had a great time.

Updated rooms. Close to train station. Very friendly staff.

Nice rooms and concierge lounge. The wifi service leaves something to be desired. A bit slow and unreliable.

Had an 8th floor room. When flushed, toilet always backed up. Maintenance came unclogged toilet, housekeeping gave new towels but no one cleaned wet floor. 2nd day, housekeeping didnt supply fresh wash cloths. We adked at 4pm for towels never received and by third day when we checked out.

Love the people at this hotel! Always with a smile!

I was welcomed into my room by a cockroach. After informing staff they said they would get the room cleaned before I returned from dinner. Following day, I got back from business meetings to find my room was not done, no cleaner had been in. Was told by staff that they had changed my room! They left my luggage in old room, did not help me move. Very poor service for a Marriott hotel!

Very clean, nice pool, quiet and feel like home, except for the front desk guy, that he told me "you can not just walk inside and ask for a room, you need a reservation, I been staying many times here and no one told me that.

Stayed here for the weekend of the Stamford downtown Thanksgiving parade. Excellent location just 2 blocks from parade route. Friendly helpful staff especially the shuttle driver for getting us up to the balloon inflation party and to hostess at breakfast who listened to our 5yo talk how excited she was.

Service was great. Rooms were in great condition and the beds were super comfortable. Breakfast was okay but the eggs were super undercooked.

A place that has lived past its glory days but still has lots to offer. A great location close to downtown Stamford, lots of restaurants, offices and train station. It has a decent restaurant on the premises. Also has a spa with lots of facilities. Very good concierge on top floor. You get a great view of Stamford. Overall a great hotel at a great location. And price is not bad either.

I was really pleased with the level of service I received at all levels of the hotel from front desk, valet, shuttle drivers, and especially Christian at the hotel breakfast area.

Good accommodations, but food was not available soon enough for all.

I Love the decor and pool I would recommend this hotel for everybody!
