Stam Caravans Elburg B.V. Review

Through the marketplace we saw a very nice trailer tent offered by stock caravans, after having had direct telephone contact with some questions about this car, I asked Jan if he wanted to reserve the car for me for an hour so that we could discuss the possible purchase, this was no problem at all he would hold him until 11:00 am. However, when I called at 10:45 am there turned out to be people at the trailer tent. Who maybe wanted to buy. ???? Jan had reserved for me until eleven o'clock? He has kept nothing of his reservation promise. When I asked for clarification here and indicated that I was disappointed in the promise that had been made, Jan had a hard time speaking in a normal tone. Unfortunately, the conversation took on a somewhat unpleasant taste and Mr. indicated that HE was the person who determined who to sell to. Disappointed with this company results in a justified 1 star rating. Hopefully, the new trailer owner will enjoy it and have been more friendly than he has done to us.

The purchase and sale of our camper at Stam was nothing short of an enjoyable experience! After visiting several companies as a starting motorhome, looking for a suitable car, we ended up at Stam. What immediately stood out was the casual atmosphere and the non-committal approach during our orientation visit. In the end I chose a very nice camper and then also made beautiful trips. Small technical shortcomings are solved immediately and sometimes even preventively, such as replacing a questionable battery with a new one. Service is not cut here! Due to a change in plans, we were forced to sell the camper. This was also done with the sales service with the mediation of Stam. Stam soon sold the camper to a suitable candidate and a day later the pre-agreed purchase amount was on our account. So worry-free from purchase to sale. Ingmar and his team deserve a heartfelt compliment !!! Truly a company that I can recommend to everyone with full conviction.

For a company that writes on its website: Our demands on quality and service give you that priceless feeling of carefree freedom, I still have trouble with this statement.
I certainly do not have this experience.
In September 2019 I bought a camper for 49,000.A 3.0l automatic with 23,000 km from 2011. This camper was imported from France. Picked up the camper in November 2019. Driven home and from there drove to Laren. There it would be added to the camper. Arriving on the spot it soon turned out that the battery was broken. Stam knew this. They had also started the camper with an auxiliary battery. But nothing was said about a bad battery.
Then we found out that the rear view camera was broken. There were English sockets in the camper. English gas bottles, gas hose not approved for the Netherlands. Bottom plate front hung loose. It was also told that the camper had had a small overhaul. Oil level, however, was between min and max.
I suspect that the camper has been placed in the showroom from the trailer. Can't prove that. Given all the shortcomings, I can assume this.
It got even worse: After all the adjustments, the mechanic wanted to drive the camper out of the garage. However, the camper no longer wanted to move forward or backward. Error message: automatic gearbox broken. This after 60 km !!!!!!!! Then I called Stam caravans. There I was casually told that I should bring the camper. They did not offer a service to pick up the camper. What do you mean service. I had the camper towed to Elburg at my own expense. There I was told a few days later that the clutch disc was broken. This would be replaced. At the end of the week I was able to pick up the camper again. However, it was more than 2 weeks. If I wanted to pick up the camper on a Saturday because then Ingmar (owner) was there too. I come on Saturday, Ingmar was not there. Quite by accident. We got the key to the camper. However, Camper would not start. Battery empty. Add a car to start things. Camper was stationary. I had put the camper in car 1 and put my foot on the brakes. Suddenly the camper started to shake and make noise. The camper started to crawl. Switched off the ignition quickly. Back inside. It was said there that this was due to the battery. I was done with it. A vending machine should not be allowed to drive itself. I didn't want the camper anymore. Stam caravans was also unwilling to take back the camper. Legal matters NKC thought I had a case, but it could take a long time before I was proven right. And expensive.
Another company had tried to have Stam bought the camper back. He then only wanted to give 37,000. Scandalous. 12,000 less in two months. I then said that Stam could not buy the camper back for so little money and then put it back for sale for 49,000.- Then this man would earn 2x from the camper and me. This was therefore canceled.
The camper has been exchanged for another. Cost me a lot of money and a lot of stress. Why worry-free freedom.
In short: I feel overwhelmed by Stam caravans.

Bought a brand new caravan from this company in 2015. Bad experiences. Sales are going well, but the company radiates incompetence on all sides.
New mover, for example, has had problems for three years and the company sees no chance of solving it.
Unsolicited maintenance work will be charged. The company has no service provision. Advice buy it there once and never come back.

Offer mainly second hand, campers and caravans. Also a small camping shop.

Recently purchased camper from this company. Excellent experience with the owner (Ingmar) and his staff. Compliments and thanks to Jan,
Sjoerd, reception and the cooperating "pensionado's". Why compliments? Because we feel we have been treated openly and fairly and have been properly advised. Employees are helpful and knowledgeable. Appointments were honored. Good trade-in price for the caravan. During the assembly of the mechanical safety lock (insurer requirement) new rims and tires were fitted. Was safer! In short, a reliable company for us, with which we had a good experience. Also not unimportant, the camper is doing great by the way.

We have bought a Laika camper here. A beautiful camper, great experience with the seller and top service! There were some defects, but they were resolved very well.

Negative experience after buying a pricey gas stove that barely works. Unfriendly treatment, poor service, not thinking in solutions and waiting for an answer for weeks. We also had to call back ourselves and come back twice.

For all old-timer enthusiasts, I recommend to visit Mr. Stam Eric very sympathetically absolutely reliable also professional.we are from Belgium and still have contact with Eric. Mvg Ali
