I had tattoos done by two wonderful artists here: Mario and Anthony.
One on each shoulder.

Mario was extremely professional and friendly. I requested the Assassin's symbol from the Assassin's Creed video game. He made sure the twisting lines were PERFECT. He was sweating a bit from wanting to make sure the tattoo turned out great! It turned out to be perfect.

Anthony did a fantastic job designing my Asian lion biting a jade sword. He even decided to add "smoke fume" designs on the spot. You can tell he is passionate about his work. He spent a lot of time visualizing the result and adding finishing touches. I liked holding conversations with him during the session.

The artists here are wonderful! They really care about art. They care a lot about what people want. The place is also clean.

If an amazing tattoo is what you want, this is the place to go! Very talented artists and the customer service is on point. Anthony Dubois is who I go to, but they all do a great job.

DONT GO HERE. Mario did my tattoo & I can't stand it. Or him. Was rude to me the entire time I was getting my tattoo done. Threatened to stop tattooing me because I was asking him about his background as an artist? He was sketchy. He was rude. Then after the tattoo he was being creepy & inappropriate. Mario is not a good artist & my tattoo is so SLOPPY! the line work is terrible. I was inpatient & just wanted a tattoo but now I complete regret going here. Please save yourself & go to one of the many other tattoo shops in Columbus!

I got a cover tattoo from Shaun and it was beautiful! He does great work!

I went to Ben Riffe in may to get a LARGE shoulder tattoo..He did it and we added stuff to it after i seen his lotus. I came back every 3 to 4 weeks for more stuff. 1 week ago he did my left arm from the wrist to my elbow in beautiful flowers. His prices are Great! he hears what you want and put on his spin.. I will always come to him for my future stuff.. Hes a great asset to the shop. Their very busy so if you come in to get tatted be patient. Step up ask for what you want you will be happy you did. I'm a very Happy coustmer

I ve gotten two large tattoos done by Kyle at Stained Skin. He does awesome work with really good detail. I m super happy with both the sparrow under my left arm and my children s birth month flowers that he did on the front (top) of my left arm.

I got a rib tattoo and the lines are even and the color is still amazing. I got it about 2 years ago. It hurt like crazy but the artist did everything to go a quickly as possible. I plan on going back for more.

My son just turned 18 and wanted a tattoo. He researched what he wanted and where. We went to Stained Skin and talked to Nicole. She took my son's ideas and turned them into her own piece of art! She did an amazing job! My son barely flinched through the two hour tattoo that was done on his shoulder blade. I will definitely refer anyone to this shop and to Nicole!!

Ben did a great job in creating shared tats our family chose to get together.

They work with your schedule and definitely help you figure out what you want, taking your initial ideas and turning them in to works of art. Mario did fantastic work and hopefully will be doing another piece for me.

Nicole is awesome!! She did my first tattoo over the weekend and was so great! It's been 6 days since I've gotten it done and haven't had any issues during the healing process.

Anthony did an awesome art work on my tattoo. Would highly recommend his shop. He is also quite entertaining! Thanks so much Anthony!

Great experience with Nathan Marti today. He is nice, friendly, professional and and amazing artist. Stained Skin was clean and had a great vibe going on. All tattoo's should be done here.

Just had a tattoo rework down by Shaun and I am so happy with it! It came out better than I imagined and I had really high expectations since this was a 5 year process for me. He, as well as everyone else I came in contact with in the shop, was really nice and welcoming.

Great service! All of my friends have been going to Shaun for years! Will never have another artist or shop!

Loved my experience here. I got a half sleeve done by Kyle and he did incredible! I ran my ideas by him and he brought the tattoo to life, made it even better than it was in my head. He gave me updates on the design process, worked with me on how much to do each session, and helped me pick colors. I'll definitely be back for more tattoos by Kyle!

Had an excellent experiment with Nicole as my artist - took the time to discuss my ideas with me and was great to work with . Very professional and enjoyable experience overall.

I have had 4 tattoos done by Shaun and I must say I absolutely love them! They do an excellent job making sure you like the design and placement before even tattooing! I will definitely be back for more!

This shop is 100% worth the time and money. Anthony (the Owner) has done a full sleeve on me and also my dad. They both look amazing-Anthony is wonderful to work with and always makes suggestions that make the tattoo look way better than I could have imagined. I will continue to recommend this shop to everyone in the area looking for beautiful clean work.

You won't get a "Free" touchup here unless you drop a few hundred and even then no guarantee.....whack

I had a fantastic experience at Stained Skin. We completed my Koi full sleeve yesterday. The entire process was great! Anthony was able to accommodate my busy schedule and on more than one occasion he came in on his day off. He listened to what I wanted and he created an amazing tattoo. For anyone looking for a solid tattoo, I highly reccomend Stained Skin.

not many good things to say about my experience at stained skin. my tattoo artist, ben, not sure his last name, was extremely rude and tried to rush the whole process. while deciding what shading i wanted for my tattoo he cut me off in the middle of my conversation with my dad and told me sit down so i can tattoo you already . he was so disrespectful to me and the guest that i brought with me. aside from that i have been trying to contact him for 2 months now for getting my tattoos touched up. i have not heard anything back from him even though i have reached out to him about five times. very unprofessional place. do not recommend stained skin or if you do go there DO NOT get ben.

I went for my first tattoo, everyone doubted that Shaun could not do what I asked for a tattoo. He proved my entire family wrong. Quick and highly detailed and is a great guy.

Blake hall did an amazing job working on my half sleeve. With having bad experiences with previous tattoo shops, it was night and day with professionalism as well as talent. I will definitely be going back for all my future tattoos and highly recommend it to anyone considering getting one.

Love this place .. Nathan Marti did my rose sleeve about two years ago 8 straight hours even had to go over some bad work I had previously gotten done . Took my girlfriend in to have 3 tattoos Done as well ... all drawn free hand.. ink has held up very well color still pops on both of us. I'm a welder and get alot of splatter burns..his ink and skill shows on my arm..even with the abuse I put it through. . I will never get ink any place else. . Just a dam good group of people there

I was impressed with Mario , not only he gave me his feedback as a professional Artist, but his customers service was skills were amazing he made me feel part of his family . The location of the store was not only close to me but was clean and very pleasant as soon as walk in , I would recommend this place to everyone I know. Over the years I ve gotten 7 tattoos here - my most recent of which I got last month from Kyle Hunter. He did a fantastic job and I am so happy with how it turned out - it has healed perfectly with his guidance and the color is absolutely gorgeous! Kyle is super friendly and professional and I would definitely get tattooed by him again in the future.

If you are new to Columbus or looking for your first tattoo - one thing I think sets Stained Skin apart from other shops in this part of the city is them having a bit more of a private setting. Each artist has their own studio area or room to work in which I have found myself to prefer compared to street shops that have open floor set ups. You don t have to deal with people coming in to your space or watching you while you re getting your work done. I prefer my experience here compared to those I ve had at other spaces on Campus or in the Short North.

Love Shaun and Mario from Stained Skin! Shaun did a great job on my watercolor tattoo. The color is so vibrant. Mario did a detailed moon on my forearm. Both look amazing! Will definitely be back.

Awesome shop. I've gotten tattooed by Mario twice here and I've been super happy both times.

Got a very colorful, very detailed tattoo from Mario, and I love it. I sent him the wildflowers I wanted and let him come up with the design. The end product looked better than what I could have imagined. I ve had so many compliments from people all over the country on how great this tattoo looks. Will be back for another one from Mario soon!

If you re going to stop in to stained skin go to Eli Ling! He s an amazing artist and never fails to deliver exactly what you re looking for and more!! I would recommend him to anyone looking to get a tattoo!

I highly recommend Mario. He is an excellent artist with so much talent and creativity. He has worked on the majority of my pieces and I am beyond satisfied. His line work is very nice and crisp, his shading makes everything come to life, and his color work is terrific. I gave him ideas of what I liked and his mind immediately went to work. I've referred family and friends to get color and/or black and gray tattoos by him and have seen nothing less than great satisfaction with everyone of them . Excited to book my next appointment with him in the near future.

All three of my tattoos have been done at Stained Skin. My first one was 14 years ago. My second was about 8 years ago, and my third was just yesterday. I've had 3 different artists, the latest being Ben, and all three have been fantastic. I highly recommend Stained Skin if you are looking for a clean, professional, and talented tattoo artist.

I got a tattoo from Kyle Hunter at the beginning of September and had SUCH a great experience. Great vibes, clean & professional, so much fun to hang out and talk while getting the tattoo done. Definitely would go back for any tattoos I get in the future!

The people are so professional, laid back, and just cool people in general. Make you feel really comfortable and Shaun has done two of my tattoos so far and I will not go to anyone else for my tattoos. He has a loyal customer for as long as he does tattoos. Love stained skin.

Shaun is awesome!! He did a tattoo for me to represent our twin girls & he captured everything I envisioned but couldn't create on my own. My husband is going to him for a cover-up & I know Shaun will do a great job with that one as well. All of the artists there are crazy talented. You can't go wrong with Stained Skin.

These guys weren't really friendly in terms of someone trying to get some information or guidance.

They actually came across as pretty stuck up even though I was being so polite and nice.

Didn't even smile once. Don;t recommend going there if you want some customer service or guidance.

DO NOT GO HERE. TLDR: You and your tattoo are just money to them.

DO NOT USE MARIO. The previous review about him is, unfortunately, 100% true. 100% sketch.

I went here for two sessions. First was fine, but it was just an outline for the colors and other designs to come.

Went in for the second session, and he did not stay true to the design I strictly specified to him. In fact, he completely messed it up, making difficult to read and completely distinct from the motif I was trying to create.

He was told to airbrush two colors to mirror/reflect another tattoo, and he did a horrible job of making them look anything alike. Completely distinct. It wasn't anything super complex either, simple shading. Basically did a color-by-number thing instead of lightly fading in color.

Then he refused to be able to see it. Defensive and unprofessional.

His line work and general attention to detail in a completely separate part of the design were also lacking.

Honestly, he didn't even seem to try. He was rushed that day apparently and I don't think he ever really cared about the tattoo except for the money he was making off it/me.

I did salt abrasion to fade it out, and it worked wonders.

However, the owner, Anthony Dubois, outright refused to do anything to rectify the situation, pretty much from the get go. Rude and unethical.

Kept saying it was "fine". That is not up to you to decide, Anthony.

He actually kicked me out of the shop. I was being perfectly calm and cordial. Frustrated? Sure, but I was not causing a scene.

This place is a joke. They will knowingly mess up your tattoo then refuse to do anything about it.

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

20/10 recommend Eli!!! You must go see Eli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is great there!!! Highly recommend! I will never get a tattoo done from anyone else! He has done all of mine.

Mario was the bomb!!! Got my first tattoo here and it looks amazing! He was very professional and clean everything was a great experience. My husband is getting ready to have his first tattoo as well by him. Wonderful customer service!

I've been going here for 2 years now and they always exceed my expectations. The staff is super talented and friendly. They've created an awesome relaxing, clean and professional environment. Very inviting and professional. First time in a tattoo shop and everyone was super nice. Mario did my tattoo and am very happy with it. He made sure I liked everything about it and it was exactly how I wanted it. Any future tattoos I get will definitely be from here.

I went to their apprentice, Kat, for a tattoo. She was very nice and charged decent of course. For only have been tattooing for about a month, her work is great. Last year I went to Nicole, who is also a fairly new tattoo artist who's very particular about her work. I can't recommend this place enough.

I ve been to a few shops around Columbus and I can t imagine going anywhere but Stained Skin now that I ve gotten a few tattoos there. Eli Ling and Kyle Hunter are fantastic artists and I ve been so stoked every time I walk out of that place getting work done by either of them. Definitely check them out if you re looking to get some gnarly quality tattoos. They re also quality dudes to spend time with. Grade A shop and people all around.

SS is a great shop, it is very clean the staff are courteous, creative, & just fun to be around In general. Ive worked with Eli and Kyle personally and they are amazing artists That have very fun personalities, they really listen to what you want and help you flesh out your ideas into something that can actually be put onto your skin. If you are looking for your first tattoo or are already covered this shop is definitely the one for you.

Got my first tattoo there and it was great everybody was nice. It was a very relaxing place to get a tattoo.

Nate adams is an apprentice here at stained skin and he did an amazing job. He has very sturdy hands. Not too thick with his linework. Great at shading and everything! And I would know a good artist when I see one considering my mother owned a tattoo shop most my life. Being that I grew up in the industry I highly recommend. Probably the best shop in Franklin county

I was visiting Columbus and my boyfriend and I decided to impulsively get a tattoo and I'm so glad we did. They accepted our walk in and Kyle did an amazing job! I was really nervous and he was so friendly and helped me calm down, would def recommend checking it out!

I had an awesome experience at Stained Skin. I called for availability and while they were booked during the day- Shaun stayed after closing to get me in. He waited while I fought traffic in the Short North and then parking. When I came in, he had already a mock up of what I told him I wanted on the phone. Between myself, my husband and our son our last 7 tattoos were done @ Stained Skin. All by Shaun Skerchock. He is professional, clean and his talent is Amazing! The shop is clean, comfortable and the rest of the staff have always been very nice. We took our best friends this past weekend and Shaun worked and reworked all of our drawings until they were perfect for each of us! Everyone went away Extremely Happy and we have already made appointments for our next 2 tattoos @ the end of May!

I was very very disappointed in the unprofessionalism of the tattoo artist shaun. I was supposed to get my tattoo done on sept.28. Day before that date it was difficult to even get a scratch from him seeing that I already paid $50 down payment and for the scratch. I've been texting him for 2 weeks straight with no response and no drawing. The day of my tattoo he send it at 9 am. I felt like he just put it together last min. Today October 24 he canceled my appointment after waiting a whole month because he said he had to leave early for car problems and this point I wanted a refund for wasting my time. Upon arrival at the store to get the refund he told me kat the manager will give me, I was surprised to see he was there. He was at the shop the whole time while he was lying to me. On top of that they weren't try to give me my refund. After asking to speak to their boss they only gave me $25 back. I was so disappointing they wanted me to pay $50 for a Picture. I was highly upset and when I called the shop the lady was also rude and pointing the blame on me instead of taking the ownership of their unprofessional artists!!!! Dont go here they are taking people's money and dont care........

Upon entering the establishment I noticed how very inhospitable the staff was generally. I had a consultation with Mario and he was extremely pushy. When I decided to get a tattoo I asked questions about the stencil he printed. He took issue with my asking him to show me exactly how it would be tattooed on my body. He told me that he could not do so, that he would just have to freestyle it. He also asked me if I had got tattoos in a shop before. Basically implying that my standards were unreasonable. I told him that I had, that he was just doing things differently, so I just had questions. When I tried to make small talk/a joke about him shaving my arm (that has absolutely no hair on it) he said that he was not comfortable tattooing me any longer. The previous reviews about him were spot on. He does not like to be questioned about anything. He told me that I seemed uncomfortable and so he felt uncomfortable tattooing me. But, what made me uncomfortable was his irritation with answering my questions. I felt as though he was easily irritated and unaccommodating. Not someone I would choose to place permanent markings on my body.

Shaun is one of the best artists in the area hands down, definitely get yourself some work done by him!

I was Anthony's first full sleeve, done over 10 years ago and it still looks amazing! Great tattooer, I recommend to anyone especially if you want traditional Japanese style tattooing.
