Nice public park, best to spend time fith friends and family

Very nice park with alot of historical buildings which house all kinds of cool restaurants and clubs! Places to go see for sure are the Tonton club, Mossel&fun and if there is an event in the Gashouder you might want to try to obtain a ticket because it's probably the coolest building on in the area!

Not a bad park. Based on some other reviews you might think it s filled with bars, restaurants and festivals, but that is actually only a small area of the park called Westergasfabriek. The actual park mostly consists of trees, grass, a pond, and lots of rabbits. The usual stuff you d find in a park I guess.

Some of the restaurants here are super good. If you are into seafood, Mussles & Gyn is the best.

It s quite a big park with a lot of people during the weekends. Young and bright vibes highly recommended!

Great place to chill out in Amsterdam, lots of choices, green scenery, everybody will find something suitable. I enjoyed very much.

Large park next to lots of cool bars. Often closed for private events.

Really nice park that is perfect to hang out in the summer. Close to a micro-brewery and a tony chocolonie store!

Hang out with rabbits and ducks in this big peaceful park or grab a drink in one of the bars. Catch the local Sunday market on every first Sunday of the month with good food and fashion.

Nice little park, has some bbq pits ready and waiting, water for the kids in non-covid times, a few bars and restaurants, a couple of play parks with climbing frames etc.

Great park with events all the time, on Sundays it gets very family oriented on a nice day and has a farmers market sort of thing.

I moved out of Amsterdam, and the Westerpark is one of the very few things I miss about the city.

Great place to chill and relax. Bit crowded when weather is nice.

One of the nicest parks in Amsterdam. Great for running - one big lap is roughly 5 kilometers. Many restaurants and bars and even a hotel. Parc Pacific is great as is the brewery pub Troost. Mainly in the summer there are many festivals on the big grass plain. Much less crowded than Vondelpark.

Amsterdam has made this into a great place. Went to the Rollende Keukens (rolling kitchens = food trucks).

Beautiful park with a number of cafes. only downside is that the water can be a bit filthy. We went during peak heatwave time, and the water did not look good!

Always love going to Amsterdam, I love this park as it it very close to Central even by walking (if you don't mind walking).

Like every other park in Amsterdam, and I actually come for Rolling Kitchens events. Alot of food trucks, which is nice especially if the weather is good.

This park has great festivals in the summer and nice eateries towards the center of the park.
History ----
The original park has been established in 1891. It served this quiet, working class area of Amsterdam, which bears the same name Westerpark. Located behind the park was a gas factory built in 1883 by British Imperial Continental Gas Association. Both the park and the factory were located at the straight road leading to Harlem Haarlemmerweg.

It all started to change in 1960 s. Resources of the natural gas had been found in the North Sea. The gas factory became obsolete. Since then its buildings were used only for storage, or just stood empty. At the same time a strong anarchic movement of youth squatters (Dutch: krakers) by occupying some of the buildings saved them from demolition. The aesthetical values also changed - the old city installations started to look original, their architecture began to be valued. In 1989 old red brick buildings received the status of industrial monuments. The whole area of the municipal gas and water installations has been remodeled, trees planted and in 2003 Westergasfabriek has been opened to the public.

Beautiful Park near Amsterdam Sloterdijk. Great for relaxing and people watching

The room is clean and had interesting decor. It's also pretty spacious for Amsterdam. Would be nice to have a mini fridge in the room. You do get free snacks in the room though

Beautiful park in the west of the beautiful city of Amsterdam. I cycle through it to and from school. Often has shows and festivals. Has a great cafe restaurant and a small cinema.

Great park, especially during the summer time. It is more quiet than Vondelpark, and a bit more spacious. There are many restaurant close by or located within the park with good food options.

Nice and clean park with plenty of restaurants/bars and other places to offer. Perfect spot to meet up with friends and kids. Also dogs friendly.

Not the same during lockdown, but a great place for outside sports, walks and meeting up.

Best park in Amsterdam if you ask me. It has everything, proper park, wild green patches, long stretches of running and walking strips, bars, cafe's, restaurant s, cinema, creative industries, big fields, concerts, day care, children's farm, and much more, but it remains a very relaxed place, good for families, couples and loners as well as bohemians.

The Westerpark is an amazing park, beautiful environment and of course the woeste westen is a great place for kids

My favourite park in Amsterdam. Excellent venue for events, relaxing or enjoying one of the many restaurants and bars hosted in the beautiful architecture of the Westergasfabriek buildings.

I went to Watergras to the Christmas market and it was a lovely experience. A lot of food stalls selling authentic Dutch food and other cuisines. However the Dutch cuisine topped the list. Poffertjes of Pofferdikkie were the best I ever had. Also, there were multiple stalls selling crafts and clothes.

Industrial looking and feel, people working there are super nice, I was there at a gay party so have no clue how other nights are hence 3 stars. Nearest restaurant has nice food for a quick refill before the dancing night.

Came here in the summer and people were cooling off in the shallow pool and having barbecues. There are also pubs and a cool indie cinema here. Nice place that is away from the crowds of Amsterdam but still happening enough to be interesting.

beautifull place, if u wanna do something, take a walk in that park! there is a place with animals ( pigs,cows,chickens..) and a playground, fun for your kids or to take a look! the park is a natural park with a lot of green. to take a bike in the park is possible to! very great place!

Big park in Amsterdam. Has a lot of attractions and restaurants, and even a brewery.

Perfect for a day out. A green oase just outside the city center of Amsterdam. A good place to relax or sport.

A really nice park to relax and get forget the hustle and bustle of the city. You will find a lot of green spaces here (watch out for the secret garden) to call. Down and Kay in the grass.
I would also recommend to visit Pacific Amsterdam to get a cocktail or a beer and enjoy the evening sun while relaxing in a beach chair.

Very fun!! Some arcades will demolish your token supply so choose wisely.
If you're coming here on Friday or Saturday night, you should reserve a table beforehand if you expect to sit down.
