Waiting time longer than an hour, 20+ counters, 5 of which are staffed. Far too few seats and way too warm space. A cafe would also help

With child (3 yrs) just 10 more people waiting for me. So quickly. When I just returned my number suddenly went very quickly.
I registered at an empty counter, no I could not be helped. Had to wait for the one who printed my no.
Then to another counter, the "lady" said very cleverly I'm waiting just wait. I just walked away from her, she rang the bell for the next customer.
Only after 11 customers further I was helped outrageous !!!!!
I prefer to go to a district office further on.

Called in twice to make sure I got all the documents. But been informed in person on the arrival that there is an extra document need just for the person to check. And this documents is not necessary according to phone service. Everyone is answer the different thing and need the varies documents. Overall, not well trained.
Waiting time over estimate, have appointment at 9:40am and got in at 10:30am.

Today I was assisted by the best employee from the municipality of bos en lommer! She helped me so so so so good! Really true last week I came for my brp history but got the wrong one. Had explained everything but had unfortunately not with me, then she had discussed with her team leader and I got it without paying! What a super girl !!!!!

After so many negative reviews I understand that people have no idea how public relations work. If you think you go in and in 5 minutes you're out then good luck with that mentality. Always had my problems solved and they helped beyond what I thought it was possible.

We got married 18/8 at Stadsloket West. The registrar of births, marriages and deaths, Mrs. Leemhuis, was a sweetheart of a woman who did it very well. She really made a party of it.
After we left the room, we were sincerely congratulated by every employee and security guard we encountered. Apparently they could see that we had just gotten married :) So five stars for us!
Staff can be much friendlier from me.

We are waiting in a warm room until we can finally be helped. It's your turn to look at a grumpy face. How do I go home with a grumpy feeling? And all this just to get my driver's license.
Smile is enough

We have registered as partners at Stadsloket West. Making an appointment was quick, we ourselves were late in registering our witnesses, but when we called about it, we got a response within 5 minutes that it was no problem and it was still okay. We were present fifteen minutes before the planned ceremony and then the woman who was going to do the ceremony with us was already there and the wedding room was already free so she wanted to receive us and we just started a little earlier. She was very cordial and careful, which made it a real party. Nice experience all together, thanks!

Operations on first floor are very slow, there are at least 10 desks but only two of those are working in turtle pace, I had to wait for hours at this place because they overbooked me to same time slot and they did not tell me I have to wait all people, not going this place anymore

Recently you have to arrange almost all civil matters downstairs. It is a smaller area there, fewer seats, and therefore, with enormous crowds, the waiting time is longer than 60 minutes. You are therefore not allowed to lean against anything, so go 'on' it and come early or late in the afternoon.

It s 18:00, and out of maybe 10 desks only 3 are open: according to displays, my waiting time is 60 minutes but I have 20 people in front of me, and the line only moved by 1 person in the last 15 minutes. Don t think waiting for 2 hours will be enough, I ll have to come back tomorrow.

Today, July 31 at 3 o'clock, I was approached by a blonde woman at the orange desk because I wanted to apply for an ID card. Luckily the waiting time was not that bad, but I am less satisfied with the rest of the experience.
I said that I wanted to apply for an ID card because I would have to fly in a week and my passport had recently been lost and I could not find it after turning my whole house upside down. I did, however, have a little hope that, over time, my passport might still surface; I did not plan any trips outside of Europe. That is why I preferred to apply for an ID card.
When I explained this, she said curtly that I could not request an ID since I did not have a passport. My expired passport was not sufficient either. Great, I asked if I could still apply for a passport.
She said that because I mentioned that I still had hope to find him again, she could no longer apply for it because it would be fraud.
I explained once again that that chance was very small and that I needed it for my next week's flight and could not be in Amsterdam before that time to look for or apply for an emergency passport.
"Bad luck for you" was her answer.
She has made no effort to think along with me, come up with a solution or show empathy for my situation. I have not been treated so disrespectfully for a long time. I hope that this employee will be informed of her behavior.

No respect for the customer or even their profession.
Had to pick up documents and is always open until 8pm.
T would be ready today - and not a word
mentioned about other closing times - but then
I arrived I was casually told today
One or other staff outing was out at 6pm
was already closed.
I indicate that I am only collecting something
the time that was indicated to me and that I from the other side
vd city I came to travel and that I was not told anything about others
times and that even online was still 8pm
(It was also just open, but Mrs. refuses
just to help).
Broad grin and no empathy for it
this lady. Typically arrogance and egoism of officials.
Yugh!

Disappointed in the municipality of Amsterdam West. Paid paid parking has recently become available in Westerpark. A small note in the mail, or put up a sign with this innovation for the first 2 weeks. Would have been nice if I could have avoided the fines from my friends and family.
Municipality) Paid parking applies almost everywhere in Amsterdam. You can often see this by the signs and
parking machines. In some areas you also have to pay on Sundays and holidays. You are
you are responsible for researching where you have to pay parking fees. From April 8, 2018, parking fees must also be paid on Sundays in Oud-West en
Westerpark, to limit parking pressure in this area. Paid here currently applies
parking from Monday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and midnight and Sunday between noon and
Midnight.
You indicate that you did not know that you had to pay in the area where you parked. This is not a reason
to withdraw the parking ticket.
Very unfortunate, and in my opinion not neat Gemeente west.

Last left because it was too busy, too long waiting time and too little staff. If I come back the following week it might be worse. Number 140 and number 105 has just been called .... pff there is my day off.
It is hard to understand why so many counters are unmanned. There will be a large staff shortage, but it creates a discrepant picture for the Amsterdam citizen.
The facial expression of people who come in and have a number to realize shortly afterwards that they have to wait two hours, is to say the least hilarious. Half of them sit down (if there is still seating) and wonder what they are going to do in the meantime and half leaves. It eases my pain a bit and I have decided to fill my waiting time.
I hope that the shortage of staff will be resolved quickly and that there will be a response to the growing Amsterdam, because it is extremely customer-unfriendly and unprofessional to keep everyone waiting so long.

Very friendly people at both civil affairs and civil registry counters, ultimately helped.
However, I would like to comment on the provision of information. When you enter you can pull a number and take a seat on the ground floor in the waiting area. The column also states that you must go to the 1st floor for "work and income". We came for a birth registration. This is not listed separately, so we waited an hour on the ground floor to be told that we had to be on the 1st floor anyway. There seems to be more confusion about this and I think all new parents appreciate it if they are not waiting unnecessarily in the wrong place. Hopefully the information on the column will be improved.

Straight forward registration process when first arriving in the city of Amsterdam and handles all basic administration functions, including birth announcements, driver's licenses, etc. Be prepared for standard bureaucracy from staff though - they can only do / see / share so much information with you.
