Good performances, great theater and also adequate seats and background noise.
quite old venue. and not enough parking, make sure you very early to park there, otherwise you walk 5 mins in heels
A giant building, was looking for a job, but found no chance to talk to anyone.
Always a nice trip, great surroundings in the beautiful Neckarstadt-Ost. Unfortunately, the parking spaces are often forgiven and it takes a little while, until you have found a suitable parking lot (mostly near the front Luisenpark). The program is versatile, the building is great and worth a visit!
Cultural Center ! There are concerts from the Mannheim schools every Saturday.
We were in the musical Beauty and the Beast and it was really great! I can only recommend. The National Theater itself is getting on in years and everything is very old. There are parking spaces directly in front of it. Since it was incredibly hot on the day of the performance, it was almost unbearable in the performance hall, that clouded the musical mood and we were happy when it was finished. Therefore only 3 stars.
Rigoletto was convincingly good .... unfortunately Mannheim does not have a great theater house .. I wish for Mannheim a new theater but no conversion ...
Bringing great pieces, The theater will be renovated in the next few years
Unfortunately much too warm upstairs. Otherwise everything is nice.
We were in a modern production by Madame Butterfly. That is of course a matter of taste. The national theater is very nice. Good seats, best view from all tiers, cleanest toilets. Easily accessible by public transport from near and far. In the network, the admission ticket is also a ticket. Extensive cloakroom and lockers. And warm staff at the reception and cloakroom. And of course the best actors and musicians.
And then nice pubs, cocktail bars and restaurants within walking distance.
Equipment of the spectator seats questionable, otherwise always worth a visit.
An aging building that will soon be renovated. You can't argue about taste, I think there is something for everyone. At more than fair prices you get a cultural offer at a very high level.
The Nationaltheater Mannheim can look back on a long, eventful history u. this results in the tradition of offering the highest artistic level! My experiences are limited exclusively to the opera, this is where all musicians, singers, etc. feel comfortable. Conductors of this tradition obliged u. every performance is devoted to the best of our knowledge and belief. Conscience designed!
As a result, the National Theater has an excellent reputation in professional circles, which guarantees the house a special place of honor among the major German theaters!
A nice theater with many events .... Park possibilities very good
A great theater with a large selection of classical as well as modern pieces. It is always an experience and a pleasure to participate.
We were in the musical "Beauty and the Beast".
First of all, I have to say that we were very happy when this musical came near us. Unfortunately, the outside temperature of 37 degrees was not a good prerequisite. The air in the theater was unfortunately a little better after a short time and it was not possible to cool the hall down. Unfortunately towards the end it was unbearable ...
But now to the points where the theater can change something:
1.) 30 minutes before the performance, the food was almost sold out. There were only 3 pretzel sticks left in the display. Unfortunately an absolute miscalculation.
2) It was the same with the drinks. Cola and Diet Coke were already sold out during the break.
3) The sound technology could be improved a lot. Unfortunately we couldn't understand the lyrics of almost all of the songs. Unfortunately, some of the dialogues could not be understood either.
4) The decor is badly outdated and worn. The upholstery on the seating was torn or worn through. There was a very old carpet in the stairwell. Also carpeted on the handrail of the stairs, badly worn.
We have already visited many musicals in different places, but not here anymore.
Have a great dance theater performance "Carmen" experienced!
Renovation costs 240 million - incredible, is it still possible? Is there a building in the world that can swallow so much? In Mannheim schools, daycare centers, social institutions, garbage disposal, fire brigade etc. have to be top-notch, otherwise you couldn't sell the common man that you throw millions around for a cultural elite ...
Great program, great dancers, especially the offspring is great
Strange shop.
We received a letter from those who were sent to the wrong address (ie to us).
Then we were so nice and call there to say, so can also be important - says the guy on the phone, it's Saturday today, he is not responsible and he does not care what we do with it.
Bad luck.
My first time going to a concert. Beethoven symphony no9. So excited
I saw a great piece tonight or EXPERIENCED it: Istanbul
Old theater of the city of Mannheim today big modern building with a great room with very good acoustics
Highly recommended are the always recurring Theater Sneaks.
The best singers, the best choir, the best orchestra.
What a great culture house. WOW. Was there on the occasion of the alphabet days, so a weekend was all about singing and singing in the choir. The journey by public transport is very easy and just from the main station to do great. The large lobby is friendly and with the cloakroom and the different staircases very clear. In the opera very comfortable seats were easy to reach.
Even if I don't really like these modern plays, I was won over by the staff and the entire organization team.
After I didn't like the second piece in a row, I wrote an email to the team and a few days later received an invitation for a tour.
I accepted this invitation. I was so enthusiastic about everything else that the set itself produces here.
Conclusion;
Even if you don't like the plays, it's always worth taking a look behind the scenes!
there is no objection to the program and the ensemble.
The building is getting a bit old. The seats look unstable and the hall smells strange.
Nice theater with affordable prices. A point deduction for the mixture of pomp and shabby look.
Wonderful staging of Parsifal. Great atmosphere. Construction is a product of its time. Very good acoustics, attentive and friendly staff. An absolutely successful evening at the opera.
Unfortunately, more and more disappointed. Almost everything is just modern.
Well-filled schedule with theater and opera, at prices that you can sometimes afford. The stage version of the "Blues Brothers" was brilliant. One should go to the theater more often.
My mother works there. The theater shows good performances. Was there very often.
Great support, very professional staff, our guest performance worked great.
During our visit it was very warm and the air conditioning was poor. Unfortunately not all drinks were available anymore. Unfortunately, the seating leaves a lot to be desired
Very relaxed and easy going atmosphere.
Can only recommend the idea of Curse of the Tantalids. Excellent, the original material interpreted in a modern way without compromising.
Fulminante operas great ballet. Good parking situation
A fine theater with an exquisite program and good artists - recommendable Above all, the children and youth program in the former 'Schnawwl' in the old fire station! Since January 2019 there has also been a More
Very good acoustic and cultural place
Love it. There is a small bar near it and a cafeteria. Ask for werkhaus
Were in the dance house in the event "Four Elements" and found it totally successful. I think the mix of professionals and teenagers doing a show is absolutely great. It worked really well. Thank you for the nice evening and keep it up! It makes you want to see more !!!
Can only recommend the piece. Unfortunately only one appearance is planned.
Not as gorgeous as so many opera houses in Europe, but the sound and visual quality in the theater was really good.
Large stage, uncomfortable seating for tall people, great acoustics, impressive entrance hall, clean and modern sanitary facilities.
Beautiful theater with great plays that are worth seeing!
Personally, I find the plays and the actors very good. The building is a bit older, but big. The prices are high only for drinks, the pieces themselves are normally expensive.
[Review number 40]
I am extremely pleased with the visit to the theater.
Always a pleasant atmosphere for all sorts of performing arts!
The National Theater is for me a piece of Mannheim / home and visit it since the 70s, when I still had a pupil regularly.
Francesca the Rimini a dream, intense and brilliant. The acoustics in the NTM has not yet beat any other opera house we visited.
Great ballet performance, the dancers were great! Nice reception, delicious sparkling wine, jackets can be left free of charge in the cloakroom, the toilets are very clean.
Great ... I did not find the info stands lady so friendly. The lady at the cash register, it works ... the ticket collectors very nice and helpful. The performance was fantastic.
Large multiparty house that offers everything from museum performances to innovative topical opera. You will never be disappointed, and sometimes surprised at world-class level. The biggest obstacle to more level and exposed art is the tradition-oriented audience, who probably want to be spotted and pay less attention to education and the arts.
Great theater. A large selection of classic pieces. Some singers and actors are even better than some in the provincial capitals such as Dusseldorf or Stuttgart.
Was invited, not my taste, but who is culturally interested should be there
Were to the musical Titanic. What bothered me was the very short break. You can't drink your drink that fast, not even if you've already ordered it in advance. Many visitors finally had their drink in hand and the performance went on. That should be adjusted.
