The theater offers many great program items. I was there as a child and since then have often been there alone, with my partner or with friends and my daughter. In particular, the ongoing renovations and modernizations keep the old building from decay and keep it attractive.

Anything but a provincial theater! The Dortmund theater effortlessly straddles the gap between pop (ularity) and high culture, without getting lost in compromises. The good media response and many sold-out performances speak for themselves.

We saw a very interesting choreographed ballet: Purgatorio by Dante. Everything in the foyer is well organized. After the performance, the theater empties fluently and quickly, since the parking garage below and the underground station Stadtgarten can be reached in three minutes. Six women's toilets are a bit small, but clean.

Great production of the musical "Jekyll & Hyde"! A great experience at a reasonable price. I really like the lockers in which you can lock your jackets. In the end, you get your money back and thus have a great, free alternative to the paid cloakroom that you would otherwise often find in theaters. The sound in the house is also great. Musicians and performers mixed well, so that it is really a listening pleasure.

The piece with Alexandra Sinelnikova was strong but also oppressive. It was about the new "pilots" of the US Air Force ... They call themselves with a macabre sense of humor "Chair Force" ... They control from Arizona, the armed drones, Reaper, over the war zones in Iraq, Syria and Yemen circle ...

Fortunately, the musical Jekyll & Hyde is played more often in Germany. So we had used the opportunity several times and had a look at various productions. However, what was offered here in Dortmund stands out from many productions that we have seen in city, state or state theaters. If you don't watch the musical in Dortmund, it's your own fault. ;-) Christoph & Michael

What's the point of putting on an American Musical , like Hairspray and translating all the hit numbers into German??? . If you go to an opera in Germany you expect it to be in the original language , why should this be different? The theatre itself is big and ugly!

From the outside not handsome, but provided with its own charm lies in the middle of Dortmund, this cultural fortress. Whether in the box seats or directly on the floor you have the opportunity to hear well. Discreetly I have to complain that the seats are not really suitable for every height, so you sometimes feel reminded of a Ryanair flight when the knees of the sitting behind me in time with teeter. Right next to it the parking garage is a clear plus. Staff throughout friendly and accommodating (even if a little stressed during the beverage issue during the break) With attractive program not the last time been there.

We saw the opera Nabucco, which we really liked. The entire staging, as well as the vocal presentation were first class. But there was a downer. The row spacing in the parquet is like in a low-cost airline. Such an opera can be quite long for tall people.

The theater is a huge catastrophe organized building! Nowhere is there properly visible Signs for the toilet, the cloakroom cabinets or the Parhhaus to the parking lots! After the show the guests rushed through narrow narrow corridors! Alas, if panic breaks out, there are wounded and even dead in these narrow corridors! In the parking garage, many people are wandering around, nowhere are there signs, where to Example are the parking spaces of 1-50, 50-100, etc. The seats are also quite unstable! When the person in front sits down, beats the very "elastic backrest the person behind them in the next row sits against his knees! It was. one is one Human around 1.65 m tall (small!) All in all, you can not give this aged in the years actually NO STAR! I will never come back, no matter what is offered !!!! i

I was here for the first time, and am pleasantly surprised. The idea - that's another story. But... Parking nearby. Wardrobe as cabinets, ingeniously solved. You do not have to wait and for free. Toilets clean, and well marked. Row of seats quite narrow, but the seats for it wide and comfortable. We did not use the restaurant.
