Again and again, today beautiful opera:
The thing Makropulos

The MiR is a structurally very interesting, well-designed theater building that was designed by various artists during the construction phase. The large glass facade with a view of the blue reliefs by Yves Klein is worth seeing alone.
And the program offers excellent opera and musical productions, great, interesting ballet evenings and wonderful concerts from classical to disco (with the synfony orchestra).
A highlight in Gelsenkirchen and definitely worth a visit.

In addition to the usual concerts and musicals, unusual formats are always offered. So it is worthwhile to keep an eye on the event calendar.

The acoustics are very good. The orchestra changes, but mostly they are very talented musicians. A visit to the MiR - Musiktheater im Revier - is definitely worth it!

Good surround sound, interesting building and nice employees.
The prices of the cafeteria are moderate. There are small sweet and hearty snacks as well as coffee variations, water, soft drinks, juice and alcoholic beverages.

Excellent program of musical "LINE 1" - "Rocky Horror" - "Cabaret" - "Wizard of Oz" on operetta "bat" and opera "Rigoletto" - "Don Giovanni" - "Tristan and Isolde" to ballet is all in it

most beautiful theater in NRW. Freindliches staff, everything was very clean. Drink prices are ok too.

The New Year's concert on 01.01.2019 was great. The stage, however, very unadorned! That could be improved next year !!!

The best theater in NRW, the Aalto comes for a long time no longer with.

Good acoustics and very dedicated artists. A wonderful performance and opportunity for us to enjoy the rainy Thursday evening and to be enchanted. Parking right next door also works well. Eating and drinking before the performance and during the break can be reserved / pre-ordered, then everything is well organized. Everything worked fine. We would love to come back.

Mainly attend concerts. It's great what is offered here for little money in relation to other houses. The orchestra with conductor Baumann has it all.

Our favorite theater, great staging, always a real event

Murder on Hellweg, Crime Reading with Elisabeth Herrmann.

A very nice theater building where aesthetics and functionality complement each other perfectly.
In addition, a large stage with many possibilities and good seats (almost) everywhere.
The program is of course a matter of taste, but basically a good ensemble works here, as you would normally expect in a large metropolis. You have to see what the director does with it.
The offers for and productions with children and young people deserve special attention.
Who Move! missed is your own fault.

Big and yet clear. Organized and serious staff. Friendly and dedicated. Entertainment is always there.

A theater with exceptional architecture. Straightforward and open.

If you have unusual clothing or similar, you can donate it to the costume department. This is how things that are dear to your heart live meaningfully, instead of rotting in the closet.

Cirque Bouffon was a great experience a very nice evening. Really great!!

Always good for surprises, musically precise and innovative, the political message speaks - hopefully not just me - from the heart. Place to go !!

Space for about 1000 people ... but you are still close to the stage at every seat. Plenty of parking spaces and free from 6pm

Nice hall for musical events. Admission prices vary, but are at a reasonable level. Easy to reach by car and public transport. Easy parking and free wardrobe.
Gas stronomy offers a wide, affordable range from salmon snacks to currywurst.

Because of the performances! The music theater is very easy to reach and good connections train and bus, centrally located from everywhere

In addition to the breathtaking and remarkable architecture, the MIR program is worth more than a visit. In my opinion one of the best musical theaters. MIR has continued to develop under the general direction of Michael Schulz. THE cultural gem of Gelsenkirchen. We visit it regularly.

Nice, great building - but with (in our case) a content from the politically correct limbo:

Choreographer Benvindo Fonseca spoils the fabric of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker instead of family-friendly and Christmassy into a crudely educational potpourri of politically correct one-world multicultural LGBT * gender * images.

The event was largely brainwashing, partly over-subscribed, clumsy to the ridiculous. Thankfully, most viewers did not even notice and we also took the provincial pseudo-enlightenment egocentric culture bullshit with humor. My very tolerant woman, however, wanted to leave the hall ahead of time.

It is a pity that cultural actors are often too good just to do a good job, to deliver a professional staging. A pity that they are unable and willing to perform the original well and faithfully, instead provoking the troubled public and trying to transform it in their petty sense. So sad. So stupid. Not fair.

Great architecture, great ensemble, great productions

Very nice building. Was there for a piano concert and a symphony concert. Very well attended, only the sound left something to be desired.

Great stagings, delicious catering during the break. Introductory event and great artists. A pearl in the area ;-)

Some cleanliness would be appropriate the seats are sticky on the backrests

The prices are fair, also for the entertainment, and for my inexperienced ears, the artistic performance is also good. Everyone was friendly too :)

It has a lot of shops and looks pretty snazzy, but could be filled with something else and with a little more respect for externals and surroundings.

I'm amazed by the extremely bad signs towards doors and rows. Great looking architecture, good seating once you find it, and efficient bar, once you find it...

Very clean big place, you can see that it is brand new.

A visit to the Mir is always an experience. The technical possibilities are used very appealingly. The acoustics in the hall are very good. You sit comfortably and can see well.
I have already seen several pieces here and will definitely follow a few more.

The theater is architecturally interesting, in the current season the operas are too modern staged for me.

The MIR (music theater in the area) is very nice and well equipped to have fun with the family / friends and to see good pieces
