Don t waste your time here!! My mom was taken by ambulance due to 5 broken ribs and a possible broken rib puncturing an organ. The EMTs wheeled her to the waiting room where she waited for 10 hours!! They did absolutely nothing!! They wouldn t allow me in so I called and they said they were going to keep me updated. They never called me not once!! Finally at 3 in the morning she checked herself out. They didn t tell her we weren t allowed there. She walked the hospital in pain for hours trying to find us. Don t ever go here!! You ll regret it!! They re we re so many people sick and bleeding sitting there for over 10 hours!! No help!! Possibly COVIDs mixed in. Worse hospital I ve ever seen!!!

I cannot how uncaring and not understanding as the medical staff was with my mother and father. My mother was admitted because of a breathing problem but when they released her she had a Foley bag. No one told them why she had it... didn't explain about her breathing problem. No one showed them how to take care of the bag or anything. No doctor came and talked to them. All they said was that someone would call within 48 hours to set up a home nurse...it has been 48 hours and no phone call. My father called the ER and they told him to call his primary doctor!! Really??? This treatment was inexcusable!!!

This is the third time dealing with this hospital, usually its hillcrest by choice cause closer, and even then thats not sayin much, but with that being said ,the staff, starting from doctors straight down to the cleaning ladies, are absolutely awesome, yall with bad reviews may have caught some people in a mood or somethin but from what ive seen and the care theyve given my mother, i would rather take my mother to st johns than hillcrest any day of the week

I came here 11/7/18 to have a baby. I was moved from labor and delivery to the pediatric unit due to overcrowding because my baby is in the nicu. I ve been completely overlooked and neglected. I had a c section and I m the one keeping track of my pain management, if I don t say anything nurses don t come in. This is beyond ridiculous. I wouldn t recommend this place to anyone, I m highly disappointed.

My friend was gushing blood out of her mouth, and during check-in, the receptionists were literally laughing at her. Even the ER doctor giggled and asked her why she came to the hospital. After bleeding through copious amounts of paper towels from the dispenser above the sink, I had to beg several nurses for gauze, all of which said, "sure," and disappeared into thin air. My friend poured blood out of her mouth into a trash can, which did not concern a single staff member. If you have a life-threatening condition, stay home, you're probably better off taking care of yourself.
St. Francis is superior!!!!!!!!

I took my Dad to the hospital for an outpatient pulmonary function test. When we arrived we found out the appointment was actually set for the next month. The respiratory therapist Sherry Loney said she would work him in. Although she was working alone in the lab, she was able to perform his test that morning. She was very friendly and efficient. We very much appreciate that she did the testing in spite of her packed schedule. We appreciated the friendly staff from the time we arrived until we finished the appointment.

Doctors, nurses and nurse aides were very attentive and compassionate. The food service was good. I would give St John's a 5 except the respiratory department needs great improvement especially with management of head and neck surgery patients. Also their linens and towels STINK! That being said we were very pleased with St John's.

If I could give less than a 1 star, I would!!
Want to be a prisoner while visiting your family? Then this is the place to go!!! I went outside, in the parking garage to get some much needed air. . One of the security guards drove up where I was sitting in my wheelchair.. .I could see a security camera and was sitting right out in the open. He asked if he could help me, I told him that I was just trying to get some fresh air.. .He told me that I could not sit outside and that I had to stay inside the hospital! I was shocked and dumbfounded at what I thought I heard him say. I asked him straight up, "I'm not allowed to sit out here and get some fresh air?" He said, "No, you have to stay inside the hospital." I couldn't believe what he was saying. I went back to my husband's room and was crying! My husband did not need to see me upset! We talked to his nurse and she called security. The one that answered the phone put her on hold and came back on the line and told her I was smoking ...What? I'm not stupid! Anyone knows that if you're going to smoke you don't sit in view of a security camera, in full light, basically in a parking spot! The nurse called the house manager and he came and spoke to us. He was just as shocked as the rest of us, I think. It was supposed to be forwarded to patient relations and administration. I stayed stuck in that room for another day and a half, until my husband was released and. ..heard nothing ! ! The last I knew, this is a free country and no-one can prevent you from being outside, any where, to get fresh air! I have asthma and COPD, dry air inhibits my breathing ... Please, don't let the security guard tell you that you can't breathe the air outside! DO NOT go here, if you want to be able to go outside and sit for fresh air or even just a break. I also told them that I wanted this investigated and for the video to be watched. Like I said, we heard nothing more. Also, if I had been smoking, I'm certainly not stupid enough to ask for the security tape to be watched. We will not be going back to this hospital!!! I only go to St. Francis and now that's the only hospital my husband will be going to!

I wanted to post directly to their website but that was an ordeal as well. I waited an hour and half before I wrote this post. I always know to calm down before you speak or write. But I was treated with such dis-respect this morning from an employee in the Radiology department. In fact when I said I can get my mother on the phone to get her okay, the employee's response was I have another call. I told her MY CALL was just as important. Her response was to send me to ANOTHER DEPARTMENT. Which I have to say was more helpful. The radiology employee also was throwing MED TERMS at me like I knew what they were and commented negatively when I didn't know exactly what to call what I needed. She was very unhelpful and kind of rude. I know they are busy BUT so are we. They need to get a different job if they can't deal with the customer a little more respectfully and helpful. Kind of TYPICAL now a days with Customer Service in general. I would hate to have someone treat her or her family the way I was treated. Oh well all I can do is PRAY for her. Linda Darrow

They don't care about ur quality of care, and especially pain management.... They care more about the ridiculous CDC BS "GUIDELINES" than providing a positive quality of life to their patients.... sad. I wish they cared about like they do the bottom line. Cardio out patient 5th floor. The Receptionists are Horrible here. Waited 1 1/2 hours after are appointment time, arrived on time. They kept blaming the computers saying the Dr. Needs to see exrays. We didnt have Xrays but they took every patient ahead of us. Even the people who had appointments after ours, and new arrivals. We complained 2X then 1 hour 40 min. They call him back. This is inexcusable. She should have had a list and went by first come first served by appointment time.

This is moms 4th week in the hospital this year and the first time we have been in St John's Hospital. We are extremely pleased with the care she is getting. The Dr's genuinely care about her and are working on the best care for her and the nursing staff is awesome. You get that, you are family kind of feeling.

I don't recommend the ER at this hospital. The front desk staff is terrible. Please keep this in mind, you go to the ER due to an emergency and you are treated horribly by the front desk staff when you are just trying to find some water after sitting in the waiting room for hours to be seen. Our medical systems are horrible nowadays and if you have a choice where to go in an emergency, don't make it this place.

I ended up going to the emergency department on October 19th at 5 am with extreme abdominal pain. They were able to get me examined (blood test and CT scan) and found I had diverticulitis.

By 10 am they admitted me to a room in the Chapman Tower. After 2 days of antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, etc., the doc sent me into surgery.

They were very fast and was able to make me feel better. I spent 2 days on 11 East floor, then to 10 East. The nurses were very polite, friendly, and accommodating.

I'm not out of the woods yet, but also not dead. I still have a lot of recovery left, but if I'm put back on that floor, I know I'll be in good hands.

I've never been in so much pain and appreciate the sense of humor radiology, Dr. Morgan, all the nurses and aides offered me; it made my stay much more bearable.

Thank you for saving my life.

Do NOT use this hospital. They WILLThey have zero respect for life. I was in the ER on a feeding tube dying in 2017. I was laid off of work while in the hospital. My insurance was cancelled. They removed my feeding tube and sent me home to die until I was coherent enough to enroll in Cobra insurance and went back 3 weeks later because I didn't know what was going on. They sent me home with very little care. Only to return with the nurses and doctors shocked that hospital policy almost MURDERED me.

My husband went to St. John's ER on October 17 for a bleeding emergency. 22 hours later he got help. I think it's a record even for St. John's. We were told (off the record) that they were taking patients in the order they would die. They were just flat overrun with people without insurance and Tulsa's homeless population. There has to be an answer which will entail a much bigger er. After my husband was moved to a room on the 5th floor, everyone was wonderful. But to get there was absolute hell on us both. I hate that because St. John's is a nice hospital. I saw people in the er crying, some having waited 10 plus hours. It was just so awful. I hope someone truly takes a look at this mess and does something.

This is the most Uncaring facility I've ever been too! Please have Good Insurance if you go here. Medicaid patients are treated like outsiders. My daughter had a gunshot wound to the head in june & they literally put her in a wheelchair, gave her a cab card & sent her out the door unable to walk. This place calls it self Saint John's & there is nothing GODLEY about this facility. The most uncaring, insensitive, self absorbed neurosurgeons, case managers & patients advocates. I would never recommend this facility to anyone

I went to the ER complaining of hip pain on 6/28/2020 about 7/730pm. I really just wanted an xray to see if I had injured my leg area or hip. I got released from St John about 700am on 6/29/2020. I realize there were others of much more care than me. However, i think almost 12 hours at an ER is outrageous.
In addition, the staff wasnt very friendly and a few acted as if I was bothering them. I only asked 2x while i was there how much longer do u think its going to be. Definately dont waste your time with this place.

Telling patients their insurance will not cover th...

Telling patients their insurance will not cover their bill if they leave the hospital against medical advice is inaccurate and unlawful. As the hospital incurs additional profits by telling patients this information, this is construed as a corrupt process to incur more compensation. According to a study from 2000 to 2010 of patients who left AMA, the only patients who were refused reimbursements from insurance were those who listed a false name on admission. Your responsibility is to advise people of the risks of leaving AMA, and let them make that choice, signing if they leave AMA. I watched you tell a patient who had incurred tens of thousands (maybe hundreds of thousands) after a stay that his insurance would deny his payment if he left, which was 100% false, forcing him to risk losing his property. I would assume giving false information would make you liable for the additional hospital stay. I would suggest you stop scaring people into staying in the hospital, and advise them of the risk of leaving, and let adults make their own choices. You should cease and desist this practice. Even if you believe it to be truth, you should then counsel your patients to check with their insurance first, but we have found no evidence of this practice; in fact we have found just the opposite in government reporting/studies.

Was transferred from Jane Phillips to here for septic shock. I was transferred to the pediatric floor and was treated with incredible care. The day and night nurses were both incredible but my favorite pair of nurse and assistant had to be Tori and Emily. When I got there my case was a mystery and nobody knew what was going on. They thought out my case logically, and explained to us what they were thinking. They got me started on antibiotics and treated me. This place saved my life.

Fortunately I was taken from highway 75 by ambulance to St John after suffering a complete cardiac arrest. I woke up four days later. The care and skills of the Firemen from Station Five and the heart surgeons without guestion saved my life! The care I received over the 16 days and two surgeries at St. John Hospital was well above the highest expiations. I have continued with the Heart Failure Clinic at St. John's. I feel great! My cardiologist has cleared me now and I am training for a marathon. I am so grateful to the outstanding skill and kindness of the doctors and the entire staff at St. John Hospital.

BEWARE OF A TERRIBLE BILLING PROCESS. My experience with the ER, Doctors and nursing staff was all good. I feel like you always have to prepare yourself for a long wait time and being there for awhile. My biggest concern is this new 3rd party billing they now use. I tried AT LEAST 20 times to call them (with the # on the statement) and could never get an actual person or a call back to set up a payment plan. No one at the hospital would speak to me. In the meantime, I paid $100/month and continued trying to make contact. After 90 days and 3 payments later, they sent me to collections!!! What the heck?? Finally, the collections agency set me up with a payment plan. I always pay bills on time. I will only go to St. Francis from now on.

I'm rating this at one star. Why? Because we set up payment arrangements early 2018 and have been making monthly payments since then. We are at a point to where we wanted to get this bill out of our lives. I called their off-site business office and was told they no longer offer any kind of discounts and expected payment in full even if it took 3 years. Well, that's fine, but I'll continue to make my monthly payments for the next two years. You won't get anything extra out of me and I'll take our money elsewhere. What terrible business practices. At least I am trying to pay our bills. We just asked for a discount to pay in full and get it over with.

This hospital will throw you in jail if you try to care for your family when they just ignore and neglect them, my mother needed to use the restroom, she repeatedly called for a nurse. She had to wait 20 minutes and almost had an accident in the bed. She had to get up and unplug herself from the monitor, her nurse has been intentionally ignoring her all day. And if I say anything about my mother's quality of care they'll throw me in jail, this is what the nurse aid told my mother. They think they can get away with abusing patients! THIS HOSPITAL IS A JOKE!

My spouse was rushed to the emergency room in an ambulance. So I followed behind rushed to the hospital myself. Knowing that there cannot be any visitors I was trying to drop off her cell phone and glasses. Because they were left behind when she went into the ambulance. I was told I needed to check in as a visitor to drop stuff off. So I drove all the way around to the main entrance of the hospital. The security guard was trying to make small talk, I told him I really don't care this is bulls**t that I need to check in to drop stuff off in the emergency room. He became very rude with me so I flipped him the bird.

In a panic not knowing what's going on I run up to the desk of the emergency room Clerk. To drop stuff off and possibly get an update and leave my phone number for the doctor.

I was been stopped by security and was told that I am trespassing. I simply a security why and if either I can drop off her her Essentials or if they can give it to her. They told me to leave the property once again. I told them if they can't drop it off and I can't drop it off call the police.

They ended up detaining me for a number of hours. Security kept stating I have covid-19 which I do not have. No updates on how my spouse is doing. During this time I was so panicked not knowing what's going on my anxiety Rose. I asked to go to the bathroom numerous times they would not let me go I ended up throwing up all over myself with my mask on. After the first time I threw up on myself I asked to go to the bathroom again feeling the urge to vomit coming from my throat. I overheard a security officer if he does I'll beat the s**t out of him. I ended up throwing up on myself again. Finally Tulsa PD arrived they ended up giving my spouse her Essentials. And told me that I did have to leave the property no citation, no arrests but I was told I am not allowed on the property.

With no updates and no way to visit my spouse I call up there for updates getting very little information if any at all. Overall this Hospital is very neglectful to its visitors and as far as I know their patients after reading previous reviews.

The emergency room is awful. We had to wait 8 hours to get my mom in. After we were in the Boomer Team was amazing! The team worked very well together and the lead doctor oversaw everything! They checked on my mom very often. She had to stay almost 3 weeks. The nurses gave me a bed to sleep in and fresh linens. I lived there the entire 3 weeks. When we left we had full home health ready for us. My mother is on Social Security and the hospital had me meet with the financial office, took away all of the payments that SS would not cover. The specialist also accepted this award. Every time I bill came in, I just called and told them, and they removed all of her bills. Everyone was kind to my mother and worked endlessly to understand her complicated medical problems. The specialist always consulted with her personal kidney doctor to ensure no medicines would harm her kidneys. I loved everyone and thank them for saving my mom's life! Thank you for the financial help!

Giving only one star due to the lack of care, compassion, and the absolute disrespect I encountered here. I used to work for St. John and I know what they used to be like. One nurse was condescending and couldn t be bothered. When I told her I was showing the signs of a heart attack, she asked me to list those symptoms as if I m making them up in order to spend my free time in an ER. Then when I decided to leave and visit another hospital, she removed the IV aggressively and caused my arm to hurt far worse than it should have. I have taken pictures of the arm affected and will be following up about it.

In 2018 I was involved in a hit-and-run and admitted to St. John's. I had my first surgery on 11/15/18, and the very next morning the billing department visited my room. In a lot of pain and heavy pain narcotics, and with no one else in the room on my behalf, billing told me to pay my max out-of-pocket then and there. Had I been thinking clearly I would have told them to take up billing with my insurance. As it was, I paid my full out of pocket.
Fast forward and my insurance has deemed that I over-paid by $1700+. Calling billing now, and they say I owe another $77,000.
I am having to get my insurance to call on my behalf to get the hospital to recognize the agreed upon insurance rates.
I am still waiting.

Why would a hospital push payments the morning after major surgery?
---
Just so you know I spent another 8 days in the hospital with additional surgeries. Staff, operations were all decent, and my surgeon did a fantastic job (will review him separately); hence why I am giving St. Johns 2 stars.
If I need additional work, I will continue to use St Johns, but I am not happy with this last visit.

I had a stroke back in 2013. It was my 2nd stroke, 1st one was 2008. Went to St John's, came in through the ER. After giving medical history, was there about 2 hours and was discharged by the neuro doctor who never even came in to my room.

I went to my Primary Care doctor who was furious they discharged me and didn't provide the "stroke busting drug." He called the hospital and told them to admit me because I had a stroke. So back to the hospital they admitted me.

I went to St Johns because of all the advertisements on TV and the newspaper that they were supreme in treating stroke patients. Well they may be if you have insurance.

I didn't have insurance and I feel that is the reason they sent me home. I am disabled today because of their lack of care. My 1st stroke I made a 95% recovery. My 1st stroke I went to St Francis. Their care and the rehab department is way superior to St Johns.

I do not recommend St Johns unless the new group who took them over has had staff changes, extensive retraining and improved their rehab department.

I will give kudos that they let my husband bring my Yorkie to visit to lift my spirits.

If I could give minus "5" stars, I would do so.

If in the event you choose to go to St Johns and you feel you are not getting the care you need, call your insurance company and asked to be transferred to another hospital.

If the patients are not happy, the insurance company will re-consider being contracted with that hospital.

Many years ago Cigna didn't contract with St Johns because they couldn't come to an agreement on contracted rates. Yes....it is all about the bottom line.

The patient have stage 4 cancer and is being taken care of by the boomer team. The boomer team is a mix of intern and 1 doctor. When we ask the boomer team to sign our fmla paper because theirs alot of direct family members. The boomer team refuse to give us a fax number and refuse to sign all the fmla, saying other doctors or the personal care doctors can sign the rest. At the time patient is still currently admitted in this hospital. The decision to be discharged is from the boomer team. They discharge us yesterday for home health but had nothing set up at home. Home health call and said ntn was covered for but the patient has part a part b medicare. On top of that doctor Audrea Harrison wrote a prescription for narcotics that the amount is so much none of the pharmacy had it. 'Over 150' while all of this is happening the rn said we are already discharged. So they are sending us home with ntn!? We ask for the appeal paper. Then they say disregard everything we can stay the night and it was late '5:30pm'. If you have a love one and dont want them to go comfortably then come to this hospital. This is thd worst experience anyone can have when they are about to lose a love one.

Worst experience of my life and a complete waste of time and money. Doctors told me I needed to have a test done while I was admitted into the hospital and said nothing about me not being able to eat NOR did they alert the nurses that I wasn t supposed to eat, therefore they fed me and the doctor got mad at me?? What!? So I couldn t have the so called test I needed. Then they went on to tell me that I was anemic but they definitely didn t tell me the type of anemic that I was (I.e iron deficiency, vitamin deficiency etc) nor the steps I should take to get my blood levels back in order. The only good experience I had was my nurse Tiffany that was working on the observation floor where I was, she was amazingly sweet and caring as well as my tech I think her name was Carla? The red headed resident doctor in the ER was also very helpful. The attendant doctors are completely rude.

I had major surgery this week at St. John's in Tulsa. I could not have ask for better or more attentive treatment. Dr. Michael Gold performed surgery and everyone involved was top notch. I'm on the road to recovery in just a few days. I've seen some bad reviews, but my experience was wonderful. My husband and son had nothing but good things to say while I was a patient. They were kept well-informed during my surgery and were treated with respect as family members and visitors.

While the medical aspects of St. John, both clinics and hospital, seem great, since Ascension took over the administrative stuff (in particular billing) it is so messed up that if I ever need an ambulance I'll beg to go elsewhere. They're disorganized, untrained, unclear and random. The amount of stress Ive had just trying to figure what I own and when is impossible. No issue paying the bills, but they're lost.

I just don t understand why only a certain amount (2) is allowed to see the patient, I have 8 total family members and only 2 are allowed to see the hurting patient?? What kind of hospital is this? St. John s Hospital in Owasso allows more than 2. Also, the patient I am seeing has been here since 2 why hasn t a single doctor seen the patient? It has been 3 hours, and not only that, the workers in the front, have a bad attitude.

I simply went in for a CT scan. Everyone was wonderful. They even waited to hook up the IV so the Radiologist could determine if it was needed. Overall a great experience. I will continue to update as I use them as this is where my doctor has his practicing rights contract.

Absolutely the worst care in Tulsa. St Johns used to be a great place to have medical care but ever since the Ascension buy out, it s turned into the new Doctors Hospital and even OSU Tulsa ( Old TRMC) now out shines it. Above all...the place is filthy. After a massive accident and an extremely high, stroke level, blood pressure and pain from a compressed spine...I was sat in the lobby for quite some time and then WALKED to Minor Emergency. B/P was never addressed, given one pill and one shot and sent out with still an elevated B/P that was still stroke level.

Expired hand cleaner right next to the bed. ( I have pictures ) Don t worry though...(it was expired when staff put it in the dispenser) NOT one single person who touched me used it...so hey, no wonder nobody noticed it. Wow!!! Just WOW!!!

Rude customer service in the billing department. Not helpful at all and as a single mom $100 payment on a medical bill a month seems to me to be expensive. RUDE RUDE RUDE. Do not recommend. Website for billing is not helpful or useful. I didn't even know my payment plan was set up because it says payment plan not available.
