The 3rd busiest venue in the World! it is a fantastic arena with tremendous views from any seat.
Been to many events but tonite was poorly organised for a kids event queing was shocking kids not able to get there Mercandise before show
Good venue but too pricey for food and drinks, bars shut when main act on when your on level 2 and up wards, you have to go down stairs to get drinks bad news
Good show but parking is a rip off and trying to get your car out can be a nightmare.
Easy to get to & good parking. Acoustics are just great and atmosphere is welcoming and friendly (even from the bouncers!)
View was fantastic, easy access to seating, and no crush on way out
it's a well organized place and staff there is really nice.
Was there for the darts, maybe if I go again no one will be throwing pints of beer down the stands!
Here for Andre Rieu. Excellent venue with unobstructed view from every seat. Plenty of festive nom noms - cinnamon doughrings washed down with warm mulled wine. Well stewarded.
Great facility. Quite a steep slope to get to your seat and takes a bit of time to get out after the show. Lots of choices for food and refreshments.
Good venue though as usual booze is pretty expensive though you can at least take it in with you.
Steve Martin & Martin Short LIVE !
Hilarious show & friendly helpful staff
Great venue for watching shows, seen The Weeknd here. Plenty of staff to help you find your seat, and refreshments were available after the main entrance. Plenty of security so there wasn't any queuing outside. Recommend travel is planned in advance as there can be a long taxi queue after any show and can be an hour or more of waiting
Great venue for acoustics, been over 20 times and just love the place.
Would recommend anyone who has SSE power join rewards which gets early ticket sales.
If you have no intention on using this the venue itself is great for what it's for, great sound for the band you have bought to see
One gentleman complained about acoustics on a comedy show and he is correct as we had the same problem once.i put this down to who ever is doing the sound desk.we have seen roughly 7 shows of this nature and only once did we have this problem.
Will update after micky flanagan tonight.
UPDATE: After Mr flanagan last night I can say there was a slight echo until the sound man balanced and was fine after a couple of minutes.i do have to say that the HYDRO was built for music and it does this exceptionally.
An excellent and well thought-out venue for big gigs. The sound is always amazing and you get a great view wherever you are.
Great Scottish venue for big acts and shows. Great view even from the highest up seats.
Great venue! Love the varied artists that go here and staff are always helpful
Amazing to have a dedicated, bespoke large-scale venue in Glasgow. Great acoustics.
It's so spacious, very easy to access,
The pictures below is from an event we went to see in the Hydro - Walking with Dinosaurs.
Christina aguilera show with support from Alma. Alma came on around 7.45pm till just after 8.30pm christina came on at 9.20pm till app 10.45pm GREAT SEAT AND NIGHT OUT bus from Edinburgh by Lothian motorcoaches ( Well worth checking website given when show finished and last train and time to get to Queen Street) didn't have anything to drink but plenty of food/drink outlets SAY SOMETHING and BEAUTIFUL my favs on the night from Christina AND well worth having a listen to ALMA great sound
Great place. But very over priced for drinks and food. Car park expensive aswell
If you can get to a gig in this venue it's a must for rock bands and it will blow your mind...
- Location: It's hellishly easy to get to, being located slap bang next to the SECC and The Armadillo (On a side note, I love Glasgow names. We have the Hydro and the Armadillo, along the water from the squiggly and squinty bridges!)
- Size: It's heeeeeeyuuuuge!
- Image: It looks STUNNING at night, lit up likesome kind of demented UFO that crash landed on the Clydeside.
- Layout: The big open spaces running around the the man hall mean that you easily access any of the entrances, and there's plenty room for loads of people to mill about. There's also a few places to sit your drink/pizza/fish n chips dotted about as well, another good touch.
Great venue +great acoustics (beer a bit expensive though)
Saw a number gigs here. The stewards are friendly and helpful. But like all concert venues the drinks are over priced
Been to quite a few gigs here. Fantastic venue but the drinks are quite expensive.
Easy access to arena from car park but would recommend that you pay for parking at machines BEFORE the event as queues are slow moving afterwards. Usual overpriced snacks and booze.
Great experience seeing Muse at this fantastic venue. Lots of helpfull staff. Plenty to drink at eat at much more reasonable prices than other arenas (Manchester arena, O2) great sound and views.
Unfortunately most artists choose this as a venue. Big, yes it is. Expensive.. yep. Impersonal performance, guaranteed!
Spur of the moment to to the theatre.... Didn't count on the long walk to find the ticket office to collect our tickets and found ourselves rushing to our seats before the show started. But great venue.
This place is amazing in its self never mind what you go to see. The atmosphere is electric and you will easily get caught up in the buzz. A truly state of the art venue!
Going out for a smoke can be a pain other than that it's a decent venue
"My name is big Chris. I'm 5" 11, and you can't teach that"
Horrible place seemingly designed to suck all the fun out of the live music experience.
Comfortable seating, well organised and kept. Excellent facilities and wide range of food /drink available.
Good venue, nice sound. Security on entry slow with long ques.
Bought food in one of the takeaway bit a burger and chips. Burger bun was hard and stale burger was cheap and nasty. Price was crazy expensive! The hydro was freezing by end of concert. A massive wait of 45mins between artists and main act. Ariana Grande Amazing!!!
They actually had the heating on this time and big screens up so you can see as the first tier is soooooo far away from the stage you cant see anything but colours
Brilliant venue, sound great no matter where. Drinks are costly queues for toilet are a joke.
Modern design, lighting and technology come together to create the best experience no matter what the event
It's a modern arena. Parking is ok but took a little while to get out the multi-storey. Toilets are silly design so it's a bit of a crush to get in/out but clean and roomy when you're in! Seats were comfy enough and plenty of leg room.
Jonas brothers, they changed my life at the age of 7, I'm 20 now and fulfilled my childhood dream, thank you
Great venue for concerts. I have been in most of the areas from standing to a box. Great experience and always got great views.
Love going to glasgow for events, hydro is brilliant. Good views all around
Food is expensive not really a Lot to offer but the event was good
Ridiculous queues and didn't gain access to the venue until the main show had started
