I think it is a great museum where the history of Bristol's shipbuilding is well illustrated. The first Great Britain steamship is in the dock where it was once built. This museum is highly recommended!

Absolutely worth a half day of your time! The museum combines history, modern technology & human interest really well. Most of all, the genius of Isambard Kingdom Brunell is astounding. Also, museum is located in harbour area of Bristol, which is well worth a visit!

Given some of the museum entry prices in London, a trip around the S.S. Great Britain would still be cheap at twice the price. The ship has been turned into the most amazing 'floating' museum, crammed with evocative and educational exhibits and demonstrations. If you only come to Bristol for one thing, make it the S.S. Great Britain (and _do_ be sure to arrive by river ferry for the best view!) Your ticket then means you can visit it again for free when you come back (with a year) to see everything else Bristol has to offer!

The ship is wonderful, but don't bother with Brunel exhibition, it's a distraction, and a waste of time particularly inside Brunel's mind. Totally elitist, if you haven't read up it just a waste of time. It's a shame that the magnificent ship is spoilt by this ugly, unnecessary feature.

Wow! Lived in the west country 52 years and never visited this part of Bristol, what a pleasure to see such a significant part of British engineering history restored to its former glory. The Yard and exhibitions are first class along with the enthusiasm of the staff .
We bought the ticket allowing us to return as many times as we can, and we will.

Fantastic way to spend at least half a day. Avoid the tambourine bashing trendy protesters in town and visit something marvelous and magnificent. A tour of undoubtedly a historical masterpiece, a Sphinx of the industrial revolution a monument to ingenuity and guile. Staffed by a 'Crew' as enthusiastic as IK Brunel himself. A fun yet informative excursion with education slipped in. Be amazed at the scale of the renovation works and the lengths taken to achieve the current standard. Why this isn't government run or a world heritage site (or similar) is staggering. What this man has done for our way of life is outstanding and so is the curation of his work here. A+, Five stars, thoroughly enjoyable. Not for those of short attention span or probably under six. Go enjoy.

Not just a boat! Interesting day out could last you 1-3 hours depending how much you want to read/interact with. Lots of visuals too for kids. Over 10s can climb the rigging for free too, Adults can pay extra for that experience. Sun or rain as lots of indoor sheltered bits too.

What a fantastic place. Love it and so does my 5 year old. We bought tickets last year and have gone back three times as one ticket works as annual pass. We keep taking guests to the city who stay with us and it s been a hit every time. Not big enough for whole day out but definitely fill a morning.

We really enjoyed our visit here. Despite being the school holidays it wasn't overcrowded. The whole site is well played out with plenty of things to see and do, with interactive exhibits everywhere. Its really good to see the ship has been restored sympathetically given how badly damaged by time she was, well worth a visit.

Fantastic place to visit lots of history and the kids loved it. I thought that it was a bit expensive but when you get going the place is spotless and we'll maintained. We'll worth a visit.

A fantastic ship, beautifully restored with so much to explore and the added bonus of watching brave volunteers climbing the rigging! The museum was really interesting and atmospheric and walking around the ship's keel in the dry dock was a truly unique experience for which I'd have happily paid extra. So much more than I expected and such great value for money especially as the ticket is valid for a year. A great day out, highly recommended!

Got to go if you're big kid or a little one. This is like a blue whale out of water. First ever ocean liner..1843. But it is crumbling slowly. See her before she crumbles. Fan bloody tastik. Thanks to all staff.

Amazing afternoon with interest for all age groups. Fascinating insight into how life on board this wonderful ship was lived.

A fascinating bit of maritime history. The museum has lots of parts to visit, both in and out of the ship so you'll need a few hours to do it justice. Inside the ship gives you an idea what a 60 day voyage at sea might be like (hard). The staff are very friendly and can answer all your questions. Worth a visit if you are in Bristol.

Interesting and Informative day with helpful and knowledgeable staff. We are in our 40s and the children with us are coming four and six. We all had a lovely day. The actor playing Brunel was great. Adults and children alike all seemed to love him.

A very pleasant place to explore, we can visit the whole ship: kitchen, cabins and many more. Every place looks like it used to be from the centuries, you can feel like in a time when the boat was sailing on the seas. The "port" itself in which he stands can move a person in time. There are even a few interactive positions that can appeal not only to younger visitors.

I was really surprised at the size of the ship, it doesn't look so big on the outside but you get to explore a lot inside. There's waxwork models showing how people lived on the boat with a functioning engine room, I really enjoyed looking around.

The visit of the ship is an experience. Actually, not much is left of the ship. The interior of the ship has been installed very well and realistically. In addition, Isambard Kingdom Brunel personally welcomes.
