Amazing place to visit. Being able to walk 'underneath' the water and around the boat is such a good idea. Onboard it was really interesting to see all of the details and read about the journeys this boat had completed. I'd never heard of it until I visited but very glad I have. Small gift shop on site. Attended for a conference and it was a really good venue. Food was really good although I'm not sure if this was catered externally or not!

Excellent expanding museum and boat. A good couple of hours of entertainment. The museum starts with you being able to walk in the dry dock underneath the boat, and then you have an indoor section with lots of information and artifacts before finally you get to go up on deck and then into the cabin areas as well.

Thanks to the restoration, you have the possibility to go back to 1845 when the SS Great Britain started its career. As a passenger ship with an iron hull (new) a screw drive (new) then also the largest ship ever built. It must have been a wonder of the world for contemporaries. Unfortunately for K.I. Brunel, as with many of his projects, was ahead of his time. Commercially, the SS Great Britain was not a success. The flow of emigrants to the US would not start until after 1870.
The new associated museum explains everything well.
The admission tickets are registered and offer the opportunity to visit the SS Great Britain within a year.

It was a great surprise to discover this boat, to know all the details of its history, to walk around the different museums with ingenious and fun games, to walk on its deck, etc.
What struck me most was the wax museum that they have inside, it makes it very realistic and it's like traveling in time!
I put 4 stars because although the ticket is used to return as many times as you want in a year, tourists who can not return pay a bit too much.
A detail that I did not like was the smell of patchouli, strong cologne and camphor that gave off the inside. Otherwise, great and highly recommended!

Excellent place to spend half a day. So much to see. All cabin crew helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. The ship itself is amazing... a bit like the Yorvic experience but aboard a ship. Loads to see and do. The 'inside Brunels mind' More

A very well laid out route for social distancing. Plenty of insight information by guides. The ship was full of interesting facts. A small coffee and food kiosk was available. Well worth a visit.

A tremendous place for a day out and it will be a full day out. The ship is impressive but all the gallery s and museum bits attached are really well done. My kids enjoyed it, nice cafes for lunch overlooking the river and you can take a short boat trip (extra cost) up and down the harbour.

Very interesting modern museum. The boat is brilliant and staff are keen to share their knowledge! "being brunel" was a new exhibit with lots to do, the moving train carriage was fun to ride in!

We went to see the Great Britain today and bask in some of the glory of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. What a fantastic restoration and the story of her recovery from the Falklands is wonderful. Great to see her preserved and all the efforts from the volunteers to make sure everyone has a super time - even in these difficult days. Really great way to spend an afternoon.

An excellent place to visit with plenty of areas depicting the time of when the ship was sailing. Detailing how it was like for passengers and crew. The icing on the cake was the lifts to all areas so anyone with walking difficulties could share in the experience of all areas. Definitely a place to visit and, if you go in a group, there is a duscpint on the guide book making it a lovely moment to take back with you.

Amazing afternoon spent here. Our 2 year old daughter loved running around and exploring the ship and there was lots to keep her entertained. The layout is great as it s pretty much 3 separate museums on one site. Very interactive and informative and I love that the ticket gives you unlimited entry for a year. Can t believe I ve lived in Bristol for nearly 20 years and never been. It s in a prime location with lots to see and do either before or after and some great places to eat near by (around the M-shed)

Amazing restoration of a unique and historically important vessel. Many excellently presented set pieces and a great illustrated talk are among the many associated things to see and hear.

Outstanding. The reconstruction of what it was like in the various different passenger classes is superb, as are the various other sections such as the galley, storage, etc. There is even a detailed reconstruction of the visible parts of the engine. This is absolutely a must-see. Highly recommended.

Impressive. It is so incredible to be able to walk through the decks and see everything the way it was back then. The tickets are a bit pricey but the experience is well worth it. Imagine yourself standing beneath the water surface and seeing the ship from that perspective. Unique. You can see the engine and even ring the bell.

A step into our magnificent past and an insight into the engineering marvel that was Brunel. Very well presented, especially the show explaining some of the science involved, with some amusing audience participation. Might try to get back again on our year long tickets.

Fascinating and very interesting place to visit. Not your average museum, helpful staff, interactive items of interest. Authentic smells and displays giving the visitor of any age an insight into life on board Brunels achievement.
