Huge selection of breakfast food! Delicious! And friendly staff! Cute diner!

I've been here a few times now. The staff is always friendly but the place can get very busy, especially on the weekends. You will have to wait for a table if it's during the busy time. The last time we went, we got sat outside next to some people we didn't know. That was a bit weird. The food itself is good, I haven't had anything I didn't like. But it is on the pricey side of things. They do change things on the menu so it's nice to see what's new.

Fairly average, with the menu that tries to do more than the cooks can actually accomplish. Breakfast burrito is a definite disappointment (it doesn't work just by putting together some imaginary ingredients- see Reyna in the Strip)

Yet, excellent coffee, and a great atmosphere. At the same time, you could get cold sausage, overcooked eggs, raw potatoes... Best time to come is really early on the weekdays when things are under control... Once it gets busy there's no way to know what you may get. C'mon, you are a restaurant.

Square Cafe is a true Pittsburgh gem. The food is great--lots of options, comforting, flavourful. With outdoor seating, this is the perfect spot for a spring or summer day. The staff is very friendly, and restaurant has a lot of ambiance. Definitely a great place for visitors and locals.

The food is decent although a bit lacking on seasoning. There are many good vegetarian and vegan options as well as a child's menu. I do feel it is a bit pricy for the portions however the food is solid and there are many healthy options.

I will truly miss working here! ALL of the staff are wonderful and work very hard to deliver amazing service combined with stellar food cooked with love from the awesome cooks in the back! I love you guys! Definitely can t wait to stop back in when I visit Pittsburgh!

I love their food and placed an order for delivery. My order was delivered to the wrong address but when I called Square Cafe to inform them of this, the manager was really kind and immediately said they would remake my order and redeliver it. As always everything was delicious!

The food is really good and the service was excellent!

Square cafe occupies a lovely Main Street storefront with classic diner tables and chairs as well as a bar. The menu has a nice selection of typical fare, and is not overwhelming. The omelette I ordered was excellent, with plenty of sausage and peppers. I was surprised toast did not come along. The staff was very friendly and I was a bit fan of the overly-robust handle of the coffee mugs (They re for sale, too)

So lucky to have this place so close to home. The food is always amazing and everyone who works there is great!

This is my new favorite brunch place!! Loved the ambiance, the food was amazing, and the staff were fantastic! On a busy Sunday morning we got a table right away. Their specialty lattes are wonderful. Definitely will go again.

This is a nice little breakfast place. The tables are close together so you might feel a little crammed, but the food was very good!

One of my favorite breakfast spots! Everything I ve had is delicious. I love that we can bring our pup to their outdoor seating area. The entire restaurant has an overall positive and energetic vibe.

Meal was delicious, service good and the place has a fun decor. We were kind of surprised by the price on the check. We eat out almost every day and the bill comparrably seemed to be high.

Modern casual diner with a bit if a "classic diner" look. Gay friendly. Delicious burgers, great breakfast foods, lovely coffee machine.

I got the brie fruit crepes with scrambled eggs, the fruit was fresh, the eggs were cold as was the crepes, the brie cheese was just a cold chunk, the tables were so close, you could elbow your neighbor while you ate, the coffee cups were cute, the waitress was attentive, paid 35.00 for 2 breakfasts which was overpriced and cardboard crepes.

Square Cafe serves high quality breakfast and lunch fare (along with shakes and smoothies), with an emphasis on delicious and healthy variations on classic dishes. Not a greasy spoon, this is my favorite breakfast spot in Pittsburgh.

This place has a great breakfast! I love that gluten-free pancakes are offered. It can get very crowded on the weekends, so I would recommend calling before you stop by.

Each time I come to Pittsburgh...several times a year...I make sure to have breakfast at the Square cafe. I always sit outside weather permitting. The service is good and the food is always very good. They do it right. I am a lifelong Customer now.

The food here is so good. Great place to go if you're looking to brunch (especially if it's nice outside since they have outdoor seating). The chorizo bowl is exceptionally good and something different you can give a try. Also consider their coffee shakes because they're worth the million tons of sugar they probably have 100%.

Okay, so this place is pretty overpriced for breakfast. They also have small portions. But their short rib crepes are so legit that I still had to give them five stars.

Fantastic. Amazing food and drinks, and exceptional service. Our waitress, Caoimhe (pronounced Kee-vuh), was attentive and we tried her recommendation; the pumpkin walnut french toast. It was the best I've had, really. Ohio residents, but will be back when in the area if not for dining here specifically.

Some have mentioned it's pricey, though you can definitely eat smart for your wallet and get filled up. Single pancake (they're quite large) + a side is very reasonable.

I wish I could give this a 3.5 rating. I didn't think the food was bad. It just wasn't memorable. For the amount of wait and money you had to spend it fell short. The plus side is you get veggies for breakfast instead of just eggs and ham.

Incredibly creative food combinations...not your average breakfast joint. You must try the brussels sprouts hash...divine!

Fantastic food and drinks, friendly staff, and a great atmosphere filled with local art. This is a great place to check out if you're visiting the city or showing some visitors what's great about Pittsburgh. If the weather is nice they even have some nice sidewalk seating to let you drink in the sights and sounds of regent square. If you're looking for a great spot for a delicious and satisfying breakfast or lunch you can't go wrong with the square cafe.

Food is amazing and well worth the wait. Brunch crowd on weekends usually means around a 25-30 minute wait to be seated. Bottomless Kiva Han coffee is amazing, and they have bar seating which is great if you're alone.

Did a quick morning breakfast date with my wife, was very pleasantly surprised! The corned beef and sweet potato hash was sophisticated and very tasty

Decent food menu and cute place. Crepe is really the THING.
I subtract one star out of five because tables are too close to each other! I could hear all private conversation from people sitting next to me.

Innovative breakfast/brunch/lunch options, most of which are quite good. It's been a while since we were "blown away" with the quality of our meal, but the service is always good, and the coffee bar can't be beat. Stop in to try some unique, seasonal dishes, but don't go out of your way.

Trendy and tasty, but really not worth a super long wait. I love their breakfast bowls, but don't want to wait 45 mins to get a seat. I guess they are a victim of their own success.

Fantastic food. The Nutella crepes are heavenly. And best of all, the vegan and vegetarian options are really really tasty. The people are nice and you'll definitely have a good time.

I particularly love the chicken mushroom Alfredo crepes.

An incredibly popular spot with an insanely diverse and delicious menu. The place often has a line outside for people waiting for a seat in an establishment which is fairly sizeable. The menu has regular staples but also changes with the seasons. Be sure to check out the specials board and if you really like then you can get delivery.

It was very busy, but we were seated within a few minutes. Our server was very helpful. Our breakfast was amazing!

I had the Creamy White Bean Bowl. Absolutely loved it. My server also was really nice, believe her name was Brittany. Excited to come back here with my wife who has never been.

What an awesome little cafe and they have a handful of vegan options that are actually GOOD. If you have to wait to get a table, go ahead and wait, it's well worth it. We'll definitely be back!

Ohh man what a lovely brunch this was!! On a cold sunny day we waited for a table by their coffee 'bar' while enjoying a good coffee. The 25 minute wait Saturday noon was also spent admiring the decor of this cute little spot.
I've been here once more. Food items are made fresh and the quality is high. I got the breakfast sandwich with soy chorizo , it was simple and yummy.

One of my favorite places in the Pittsburgh area. It is open for breakfast and lunch only, and offers a large variety of interesting and tasty menu items. Definitely worth a visit.

Friendly, clean, inclusive and artistic quaint little spot with sidewalk seating. Coffee was amazing, menu was diverse and offered many vegetarian and healthy options. The lemon blueberry ricotta pancakes did not live up to my hopes and dreams but they were ok. Twice a staff member came by and reached across our two seater table right between our faces to grab the ketchup bottle without a word, let alone an excuse me. Overall, I would like to return and try something else on the menu.

Service and food was great! When we stayed in Pittsburgh this was near our Air B and B and this was a great place for people who are Gluten Free, Vegetarian or Vegan. I would spend everyday there if I lived there. A must go place!

brunch at this place - super good. got there near seven, it wasn't very crowded. certainly worth a return visit.

The food was great, and we were seated fairly quickly despite the fact that they were busy and had a waiting list. The service was slow, even for a leisurely brunch, but overall, the experience was a good one. They also had blankets and space heaters for the outdoor seating, which we appreciated on a chilly May morning.
