Local brunch spot with lots of good options including a few vegan. Their vegan peanut butter pancakes were awesome, and they have good tea and coffee. They get VERY crowded on Sunday mornings, Saturday is a better choice if you want to avoid a long wait. Also parking is street and limited, so you may be in for a hike.

Three stars because they offer few options for those that remain Gluten Free. No GF breads though. Two stars in all honesty. Stopped in for breakfast. GF Pancakes with house made Berry Compote, Bacon and non-GF brioche French Toast. Have to say it has been a while since we had such good bacon ! GF Pancakes were heavy and grainy but made a carrying agent for some syrup or the somewhat sour berry compote. French Toast was just okay. Nothing offered here any more than the next restaurant. Oh....Unless you count he GF options?

So every time you drive past, you're all like "man, this place is BUSY. No way we'll get a table and I'm pretty hungry. Let's just go someplace else." Well let me tell you what a giant mistake you're making. The turnaround is really fast, you'll get a table pretty quick. And the food? Fresh and tasty. I'd go there for breakfast, but that's just me.

Thank you so much for delivering to Bridgeville!! We were able to get one of our favorite dishes, the brussel sprouts and grits, on Monday. Our delivery came earlier than expected our food was hot and just as delicious as when we are in Square Cafe. So appreciated. HIGHLY recommend anything from here. It's all good!

Food was good and service was great... Very busy for Sunday morning as expected but I appreciated that they only sat people who had their whole party! We were orginally told 20 minutes but got seated in 5 minutes.

absolutely the BEST brunch I have ever had. Gluten free pancakes, toast were A+. got the sausage and potato hash, the butter bean smoothie, and house coffee. Cannot wait to go back!!! even non-gluten free friends loved the pancakes too.

Used to be excellent all around. Been here at least 50 times. I can t stand how they changed the outside sitting to sit you right next to random strangers where you can hear each other s conversations. I understand they want to serve more people but IMO, it s ruining the experience

One star seems harsh but let's be honest. There's no seasoning. Bland food every time. I have no idea how they're still in business without making good food. It's like they're actively preventing their cooks from doing what they do best!
Service IS always great and since they moved there's way more space to fit customers but do you really want to pay for something you can heat up in the microwave at home and leave unseasoned yourself? You would make better food. I trust you. Save yourself the $20 and just go pick up some eggs or lunch meat and a nice loaf of bread. You got this.

Yummy

Well rounded, broad menu. Most people will be able to find something on the menu that interests them (vegetarian, vegan, and meat eaters alike).
This place is always super busy, and is a favorite for breakfast spot. The prices are somewhat high for me, but it's still a must try.

If you're the mood for a good ole homestyle breakfast, make your way to Square Cafe. Located in Pittsburgh's East End neighborhood, Regent Square, this cafe is serving up seasonal menu items using locally sourced ingredients. Be sure to get something off their espresso menu, caffeinated beverages are served in a beautiful mug.

Amazing food and service. When we got there, a bunch of people were already on the wait list, but it went very quickly. Once we were at our seats, they quickly took our orders and the food and drinks came out very fast, which was surprising because the whole restaurant was full. I ordered an Iced Machta Man Latte and my husband got a Berried Away smoothie. Both were really flavorful and pleasant. For food, I got the Pulled Pork and Grits bowl. It was so delicious, I would order it a million more times. My husband had a Corned Beef bowl, which was also very delicious. Everything we ate and drank exceeded our expectations, I can't wait to go back and try more.

The food is good, but the coffee really isn't. I'm not sure that it's worth the wait when there are other good places nearby. I'd recommend Nancy's East End Diner as an alternative with far better coffee and equally great food.

The two words I would use to describe my meal and experience at square cafe is disappointing and confusing. The food itself was mediocre at best; the bacon though ordered crispy was soft and bland, the home fries were also soft and barely warm, and even the famous Lemon ricotta pancakes, though tasting very good, were over cooked. This is not my first time here and though my last few experiences were also very mediocre I thought I d give it a try again due to the high praise this restaurant is given, and that is where my confusion comes from. I don t see how this place is constantly receiving such rave reviews when every experience myself and some of my friends and family have had has been utterly disappointing. So if you are thinking of going here, don t listen to the hype, go somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I stopped at Square Cafe for brunch this morning. We arrived and waited about 10 minutes for a table to become available; however, there were two heaters outside to stand by to keep warm in the meantime. We got there just before a large rush of people arrived and were lucky to only have waited as long as we did.

Upon being seated, we felt a little crammed into the center of the cafe between two other tables. Im not a large person, but I really felt like i had to suck it in to get between the tables to my seat and try not to hover over our neighboring tables' food. Also, I felt the cafe as a whole was incredibly loud and it was hard to carry our own conversation because we were so close to two other sets of louder people talking over us to each other.

The coffee was tasty and our server was great with refills. My boyfriend had the breakfast burrito, which we both thought was average.. I had the French toast special which featured a banana cream cheese filling. We both thought this special was delicious (and not too sweet, like some other French toast fillings around the city). The host and waitress were very friendly and efficient.

For 2 coffees, a burrito, French toast and an apple sauce, I thought $45.00 was a little steep, but we would both certainly return if nearby and it happened to be an off time. Overall, I would recommend stopping into this establishment at least once. I feel like this concept would be better executed in a little bit of a larger location so guests could feel a little more comfortable while dining.

Awesome food, quaint and friendly atmosphere. There is also outdoor seating with umbrella for covering. They are pet friendly for the outdoor seating area, they even bring a bowl of water for your pet.

We enjoyed a lovely lunch outdoors in the cafe. It was beautiful setting to enjoy a lunch with my coworker. The menu offered unique seasonal items that would certainly appeal to anyone. They also offer vegan and gluten free items clearly marked on their daily menus. Our server was friendly and attentive.

Tasty little cafe. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options, in addition to those that aren't. I was surprised at the punch of flavor in the ancient grains bowl. It was really good! Overall a little pricier than our typical breakfast, about $12-15 per plate, but everything was delicious and seemed like good quality ingredients.

Clean, delicious restaurant for breakfast and lunch. Great options for vegetarian and gluten-free also. Wide-ranging menu of creative items and prepared wonderfully. Saturday and Sunday morning wait times can be challenging and though several shops to visit in the Regent Square area, you need to stay close to hear your name called.
