The difference between fine dining and other experiences is service, and Spago has some of the best service you'll get in LA. It doesn't hurt that the food is excellent. Dinner was well paced, without feeling rushed, and the bar is fantastic. Try something new, you'll enjoy it.

Food was not as good as the price tag would lead you to believe. The service was OK. Our poor waitress made a somewhat uncomfortable attempt to make some type of unnecessary connection with us. Felt too forced. The Japanese Kanpachi fish was tough and chewy and the pepper sauce was terrible. The portions were miniscule. My wife's pasta was pretty bland and heavy on the mushroom flavor which dominated her dish. The New York was just OK, the portion was tiny and there was nothing special about it. I've made better steaks at home myself.
The chocolate souffle was probably the best thing we had but I was really miffed about how little ice cream came with it. They give you literally one tablespoon's worth of ice cream and a couple other tablespoon's worth of chocolates. It was ridiculous in presentation and execution. An interesting experience but not one I would seek out again.

Good drinks, great atmosphere, best bar in the area! The staff is friendly and they always look productive. The food is delicious, they have enough televisions to see any game you want, this place a must go to! Julie was attending our table and did a wonderful job serving us. You won't have a bad time if you go here!

No wonder it has a legendary status in Hollywood! The place is discreet, understated class, with lots of open space yet dotted with nooks for acoustically favorable conversations during cocktails. Staff is dedicated and work like ninjas in suits. The private room we got was soundproof I know I tend to be a stickler for noise. But the food trumps all superlatives. The Cabernet is sublime. The appetizer, whose name sadly escapes me, is a lively beef and cranberry marriage that sets the evening to a good start. Lobster on something like homemade penne can be a meal on its own. The salmon which I ordered must be finished, short of licking the plate clean incomparable. Dessert is fantastic coffee ice cream coated with chiffon and hard dark chocolate, like a dark brown baseball escorted by raspberries and rose petals on the plate. Keto begone! A meal to remember for a lifetime.

Obe been there twice, 10 years appart, classic see and be seen, the menu feels as it is has never changed, nothing new or inventive; good food, better dessert, the service was prompt and flawless. Valet parking or other many options around.

The perfect food experience. We were a bit late for lunch but staff was very welcoming! Food was delicious and fresh. Everything tasted to perfection. We were even greated by the restaurant owner and founder that lived up to the legend. Thanks Wolfgang Puck. Would definitely go back, and try new things!

Had a great meal with a wonderful waiter who was very knowledgeable about the food choices and wine pairings. The several dishes that we had were all very unique from one another and we had difficulty deciding which one we like the best. Very expensive, but I definitely recommend this restaurant for a fancier celebratory dinner!

My husband made rsvp for my birthday and he was in contact with them multiple times to make sure that they do provide special birthday desserts or something and they did confirm multiple times too but nothing was provided for the event so my husband was very disappointed but the food was good (but not exceptionally good compare to other michelin star restaurants) with good atmosphere too. service was ok. hostesses were very nice ! But everything else could be better tho.

I came in with high expectations for Wolfgang Puck...

I came in with high expectations for Wolfgang Puck's flagship restaurant, and it totally delivered. Even though it was one of the first fancy Beverly Hills restaurants, it did not feel dated or old. Rather, it was classy, and very classically LA. We even saw Smokey Robinson dining with us. It doesn't get more "LA" than dining al fresco in fall, with celebrities mixed amongst you, with some of the the finest food and prettiest people in the country. God, I love this city.

Our spectacular dinner began with an amuse of tomato soup and a tuna hand roll crisp. This was a nice surprise. The "Tiffany Twisted" cocktail was the perfect accompaniment to my entire dinner, and I loved the name ;)

My favorite fancy-dinner-date and I shared the veal filet mignon tartare, served in the bone. It was amazing. Each bite perfectly paired with the crostini and bits of salad. The flavors were delicate, and you didn't taste the bread, but it's perfect grilled texture made each bite heaven.

Our second appetizer was the chirashi bowl sushi. This was a more traditional sushi dish, but each fish was so fresh, and they served a decently-sized assortment to us.

My entree was the Halibut. Delicate, and fresh. Very light, and the foam on top had a slight savory tinge. Very good.

The star of the show, though, was the lamb rack which my date ordered. So tender, so fresh. The meat actually tasted healthy. Moroccan spices lent an earthy, deep taste to it that was not overpowering at all, but was very intriguing.

Service was stellar, attentive, and quick. My entire evening was so enjoyable, and really affordable (in Beverly Hills, fancy dinner terms) -- $200 for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 4 drinks, and 2 coffees, tax and tip included. Take that any day, and can't wait to come back!

I'm not sure why I keep coming here. It's getting old and needs a face lift. Many of the customers are want-a-bees. (You'll always find people here eating with their sun glasses on.). But bottom line, I come here for the wine and food. Excellent wine list. And in all the years of coming here, never a bad meal.

My husband and I talked about going to a very special place for our first wedding anniversary on May 2nd. After reviewing our favorite places in town and also the places we didn't know yet but were craving to try, Spago made it to the top of our list.

We got more and more excited as the big day was getting closer, to the point where we already knew which wine we would order a solid two weeks prior to our dinner.

We arrived at the restaurant a little late but still got welcomed like very special guests. We got seated by the right end of the main dining room, not far from the window. The room must have been redone pretty recently as everything looked very modern and untouched.

Being a fish lover, I got started with the chirashi box. My husband got the mushroom soup with truffles. Both amazing starters, probably among the best we've ever had. I just wish the portions were a little bigger, but I guess that's what always happens when you get such excellent food.

After such a great start, I continued with the sauteed scallops with squid, clams and...chorizo (yes, chorizo!). I would have NEVER ordered fish AND chorizo at any other place but I thought it was the perfect place to give it a shot. I'm so glad I did. The chorizo gave a unique exquisite taste to the dish, making it an unforgettable experience. My husband had the rack of Colorado lamb and absolutely loved it too.

We eventually shared the chocolate souffle with mascarpone for dessert. Not the best thing we had that night even if it was still way better than most chocolate souffles you'll find in town.

A magical experience overall, well worth the wait and the price. We may even make it a ritual for all our future wedding anniversaries! Thank you, Mr. Puck!

This was our first time coming here, we don't typically go to places of this caliber but we wanted to try it for our anniversary. It was perfect! The service was excellent from the moment we walked in the door. The environment was clean and inviting, we felt very comfortable. The food was amazing, I've never had a better steak. To top it off, we actually sat next to Wolfgang on the patio, which was pretty cool. We'll definitely be back.

I ve been waiting to go here for a while and I saved it for a special occasion. Made the reservation a few months ago and have been looking forward ever since. Spago is featured in pretty much every top restaurants to eat in LA, so maybe I built high expectations that unfortunately weren t met.

Service and cocktails were great, however the food was not wow ! The most interesting dish we had was the salmon pizza. I had the jidori half chicken with goats cheese, mushroom and mashed potatoes. There wasn t enough sauce for the size of the chicken and the sauce would have been better if it was thicker. I barely had any goats cheese; and the mushrooms and mashed potatoes were okay. Nothing spectacular and definitely not matched to the hype or price!

Also, our table wasn t great: we were squeezed between a huge vase and a 10-people table. The waiters kept bumping into us whenever s/he was serving food or wine to the table... so unpleasant! It definitely affected our dinning experience!

With all the hype, I wasn't sure how good it would be. Maybe it was low expectations, but this place was wonderful. Service was great, unreal wine list, and amazingly flavorful dishes. The pastas were perfect.

You must hit the right night for this place. Glitzy, celebrities et al., and tourists expecting to find the "real" Hollywood, counteract what could and should be, a memorable dining experience. If you can find a quiet table, go for it. The food will shape up to, better than your expectations. Go for it.

My husband and I visited Spago Beverly Hills before heading back home to Australia. We enjoy fine dining in Australia so we were super excited to experience what Spago had to offer. The service was second to none and our waiter was exceptional and definitely provided a great customer experience. The food was good but not great, unfortunately. Our entree of Octopus which had great flavours and was very tender, lacked seasoning. We also ordered a lobster black inc pasta which was definitely 5/5 for us - the meal was flavoursome and was very unique. My husband felt the lobster was slightly overcooked but still a great meal! Finally, our mains were lamb rack and a New York Strip which were both generous portions but again, lacked seasoning. The wines were lovely, although quite pricey for what they were. We were visiting Spago as part of honeymoon and we were surprised to have had the waiters bring out some cookies and a candle in celebration. We truly appreciated this gesture and definitely added to the great customer experience we had with our waiter. Overall, a lovely place with great vibes and good service.

Spago Beverly Hills, along Canon Drive is truly the Flagship of Wolfgang Puck's dining group of restaurants. The renovation in 2012 by Waldo s Designs created a sleek and simple design enhancing the location's iconic, market-driven menus and exceptional level of service and atmosphere. We have thoroughly enjoyed both the lunch and dinner seasonal a la carte menus as well as the multi-course California Tasting Menu.

Without hesitation Spago's has our highest recommendation anytime you are dinning in the Beverly Hills area.

after a long hiatus took my better half. dinner was mediocre at best. an appetizer salad ruined by an ill advised slab of mozzarella, fishy red snapper entr?e and overly sweetened lamb. the wrong wine was served and when replaced the wrong glasses were used. hard to believe the zagat and michelin ratings for what seems to have become the "mr chows"tourist trap for pass? continental california cuisine. dreadful if considered fine dining.

Spago is kind of an institution in LA. So well worth a visit when you're in LA.

It's also well worth it's reputation! The menu is a good mix of traditional and inventive, the food was cooked exceptionally (as expected). The service was friendly (and probably a bit more formal than you'll see in other places in LA, but not over the top!) and seamless.

We loved the 'Big Eye Tuna and Hamachi Chirashi Box' and off the menu 'Tuna Tataki' from starters. And kept on asking for more of their house made bread and hummus spread :)

Tiramisu was to die for (and I'm generally not even a huge fan of Tiramisu)!

Ask for a table outside at their patio (weather permitting)! It's magical...

Give it a try!

PS! Arrive a bit early and try some of their cocktails at the bar. They're pretty good as well.

Almost everything we had was amazing except the most expensive plate which is the All AMERICAN WAGYU $98. It was too dry and not tasty at all. 5small cuts with potatoes wrapped in bacon. I would not recommend it. However, the lamb was really great. Very tender and all sauces that comes with it were delicious.

Service is super attentive and friendly here. Definitely a departure from other high end restaurants where I sometimes feel like I can't be myself. Anyhow, I was super psyched to try the new reinvented menu (although the bar menu looked far more exciting then the dinner menu, Must try next time!).

We have been coming to Spago for many years, and o...

We have been coming to Spago for many years, and our last visit here on 6/28/16 to celebrate our daughter's birthday was not good! We had our favorite table reserved and confirmed by the restaurant at least 6 weeks in advance in order to celebrate our daughter's birthday. We were puzzled when we were sat at a different table next to the one that we had requested by the fireplace; we had requested our table at the earliest possible reservation date at least 6 weeks in advance (table P-8 was the one we had requested and had confirmed with the restaurant).

The manager/hostess working this evening, "Amanda," sat a large group of gentlemen right after we were seated at the table that should have been our table for this evening. I over-heard Amanda tell the gentlemen while she was seating them that she did some "shuffling" in order to get them their favorite table. So that is how this place works when Wolfgang isn't present.

The food we ordered this evening was awful to say the least. My wife's $145 steak was so bad she couldn't even eat it! If she would have alerted me how terrible it was while we were still at the restaurant, then I would have had them taken it off of our dinner tab. It is too bad she didn't speak up about it during our dinner. The worst part of our experience was that our daughter got a bad case of food poisoning from her dinner and wound up very sick for a day and a half afterwards. The best part of our evening was our waiter Travis. He was our favorite waiter here. I say "was," as we won't be going back to this place anytime soon.

In the past when we had very positive experiences at Spago, when Wolfgang was present. Wolfgang wasn't present this evening. There are way too many great restaurants in the Beverly Hills area to dine at rather than taking a chance at this place again in my opinion.
