Admired the building from the outside as there was a wedding taking place.

Lovely and interesting Minster. Old fashioned town centre without national chains and some tasty places to eat.

A cathedral built at the time of William the conqueror, it has Norman and gothic architecture and carvings. An impressive structure! The volunteers are also extremely helpful.

Some great history with impressive stained glass. Huge intimidating building well worth it. For me it felt more like a medieval monument than a place of encounter with the living, active god of 21st century.

Fantasic building and surrounding grounds with lots of history. Many kings and prominent people have stayed here throughout history and the town of Southwell is well worth a visit too.

Historic Cathedral over a 1000 years old! A must to visit when in Southwell.

An unexpectedly unusual edifice. Norman, not the usual Gothic, with many interesting architectural features. Very helpful guides give an insight into it's long 1000 year history. A must.

Very good but a bit disappointing that the toilet don't open until 11:00am

The Minster, while smaller, had architecture equivalent to much larger places like Lincoln and Salisbury. The greeting volunteers were very keen and helpful. I think it's well worth a visit.

Beautiful. A must-see, inside and its historic surroundings too.

When the world is a din and you need that quiet place, to breath in stillness. Where being a lone or lonely does not matter then Southwell Minster is the place for you.

Wonderful for me coming from Arizona and loving every bit of time I spent in Britain. Friends took me to Southwell, which, of course I pronounced incorrectly!

What stunned me was seeing the remains of Roman history.

I think it is lovely place to visit I often love sitting on the cathedral grounds it's very peaceful and picturesque I will soon be back thanks Lucy

The Minster is beautiful and historic. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. They were very friendly and helpful. Well worth a visit.

A relatively unheard of gem that boasts some fantastic historical connections to important past events and well-preserved architecture. Staff are helpful and the gardens are beautifully laid out.

Monumental, magical and magnificent cathedral in such small town (slighty over 7.000 population). I had a feeling like I was back in time to medevial era or at least in Tristram from Diablo computer game. Defenietly worth seeing although check the weather first! Sunny day is perfect for sightseeing this beautiful minster

Went for the Tower Tour. Led by Mr Corner: very knowledgeable and informative. Well worth a visit.
I understand Mrs Corner was busy doing the Minster Tour too. Friends from church said that was excellent also.

Love Southwell and the Minster it s such a lovely calm and happy place I ve been visiting since I was a child .It is magical if you happen to visit when the choir are practicing it s so uplifting

Historical my beautiful and significant with some very interesting artifacts. The cathedral is very striking. You'll get a lot more from your visit if you study the relevant history covering both the bishopric and civil war.

A national and local Minster. A gem in the Nottinghamshire town if Southwell. Must visit this historic christian building that very much participates in to-days world.

Surprised how large it is for a small town. Very historic, some parts are Roman.

This is a fantastic cathedral, full of history! The location is amazing, peaceful and beautiful yet so close to the centre of Southwell.

There is a really good shop here and also a cafe that is reasonably priced.

It is well worth a visit in an afternoon as there is plenty to see and learn.

Southwell Minster is a minster and cathedral, in Southwell, Nottinghamshire, England. It is situated six miles from Newark-on-Trent and thirteen miles from Mansfield. It is the seat of the Bishop of Southwell and Nottingham and the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham. For more than 900 years, Southwell Minster has opened its doors every day to welcome visitors, pilgrims and worshippers, so definitely worth a visit especially for its wonderful architecture and gardens.

Went to the Christmas carol service. It was OK except far too many , no doubt, technically difficult pieces , which no one knew. In my view a Carol service should be full of well known and favourite carols. I don't need to be educated at Christmas.

It is an iconic building and the pride of Southwell (and the whole of Nottinghamshire).

I have always meant to visit, my mom always said that we should but with the race course pulling us we didn't. When I did get there it was well worth the wait. The architecture is fantastic, the guide explained about it being an original Saxon church was brilliant. I recommend that everyone should see it at least once, I intend to go back

Beautiful building set in the middle of Southwell. Part Norman with additions at other times. Acoustics in this building are superb. I am a member of Southwell Choral Society. We give all our concerts in the Minster. The staff, both paid and voluntary are wonderful and look after all visitors supremely well.

Lovely place , the town however is very small and there isn't much to do
