Great venue for intimate concerts and performances.
Great venue and awesome for all types of events. Attended a Bhangra event and the sound and lights were great. My only complaints are the armrests are a little cramped and a bat randomly came out of nowhere and was flying around during the show. I know, an actual bat during the show! Definitely come to Jubilee to watch shows, you'll have a great time!
I went and saw a play there and the play was very well put together I really enjoyed it
Not impressed that you can now purchase and take in concession snacks into the ballet. Trying to watch The Nutcracker and all you hear is the crinkle of plastic Twizzlers bags was most distracting.
We really enjoyed The Book of Mormon production! Our experience at the Jubilee was great. There were ample staff so that we weren't waiting in line to get into the building, and lines for drinks were also short. We were really pleased with our view from the first balcony terrace!
I just can't warm up to this place. That probably sounds weird, but the service is quite hit or miss; the prices (for everything, not just tickets) are too high for what you get; half the time I have to get tickets through Ticket Master, so extra fees apply; they never open the upstairs bar during intermission, so grabbing a water becomes a crazed dash for another floor; even if you are near a bar, you probably won't get through the line before having to get back to your seat; bathrooms are few and far between, making it difficult with little ones--if I could see everything at the Jack Singer, I'd be thrilled.
First time at the Opera. I actually really enjoyed it. Beautiful auditorium. Last minute tickets so we had the main floor upper seats. The main floor top seats are probably a little closer together than the regular seats. Being 6'1 and a fit 210, I found it snug. I was there for the show so seating is somewhat irrelevant. I still give it 5 stars.
Filumena - what a story! The lead male vocals - phenomenal! Who knew Alberta has such interesting history?! Note to people who are tall - can you please sit still so the little people in the back can be comfortable in taking a position that provides an optimal view? Thank you!
Saw Russell Brand, love this atmosphere! It's perfect.
We have been to the Jube on a few different occasions. We always have a positive experience. Friendly staff, great venue!
I'd love to see a better selection for snacks but other than that, no complaints.
Great venue to go see plays. The seats are comfortable, the washrooms are very nice and clean, the parking lot is attached to the venue, they normally set up bars outside the theater.
We always sit on the main floor, the sound is good there but I can't attest to everywhere else. There is usually a 5min wait to get refreshments during intermissions.
Gorgeous space. Love the shows they have there. Leaving the parking lot can get really crazy sometimes.
Lovely theatre and great acoustics. We attended a children's symphony concert here and our kids enjoyed it. It is much larger than most of the other theatres in the city so you may not want to book seats up near the back. We did however like that there is a quiet room where our youngest could go with one of us when he started to have trouble sitting still. This still allowed him to enjoy the rest of the concert but somewhere where he couldn't disturb others.
Great venue. I've seen Don Williams and the Nutcracker here now.
The sound and shows are amazing. The drink selection is abysmal. Not being able to get a good glass of wine or simple cocktail at the ballet is very disappointing.
saw the opening night for nutcracker - parking is easy to find and the redirection of traffic was very friendly - to say the least bathrooms were clean - this would have been a five over five if the service at the bar was up to speed with the line up - perhaps more trained bar tenders for faster service?
otherwise this is a great add on to the culture of yyc
Really nice auditorium! The accoustics here are very good, so the sound is amazing! The seats aren't the most comfortable, but they work. The staff are very helpful most of the time, but sometimes they seem unfamiliar with the layout of seating. The drinks and food are overpriced here, but that is to be expected for concerts and the like. Maybe sneak your own food and drinks in :).
We are lucky to have a world-class auditorium in our city. The Jubilee holds many great memories for me and my family. From high school graduations or music concerts, to Broadway Across Canada. This facility is a gift to the city! Hopefully you will get to make your own memories here!
Loved the location. Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra was playing the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. It was brilliant!
Amazing place to see a stage show with my friends. We had a great evening and enjoy every minute of it. Parking was kind of difficult since there was a lot of people so we ended up parking kinda far away. Overall not too bad of an experience.
Went for the Annual White Hat awards. Fun evening. There is a definite lack of any seating in the lobby areas. If you are going to host an after party. Put a few chairs out. Bar line ups were long and slow. Inside the auditorium is fantastic. Great site lines.
Horrible accoustics for opera.
Sightlines suited to football.
No restaurants within a kilometre.
It was a amazing experience. Jubilee theater is a beautiful place to visit.
Overall a good experience but the concession is very pricy and the escalators seem to be broken every time we go.
Had a great time, professional staff and a beautiful room
Great place for all the wonderful shows that pass through town! Fantastic acoustics (of course, to be expected), comfortable seating no matter where you are set. Ushers are always accommodating and you just can't beat the view of the city from their windows.
Saw Cinderella put on by the Alberta Ballet and it was a great night out. Fun show and a solid venue elthat is easily accessible by CTrain.
The show we saw here was great. The venue was great periods easy to get to buy train or car
Always a good night out. Looking forward to a great mix of shows for next year's Broadway Across Canada.
Not the greatest acoustics, but for a smaller auditorium it is a nice facility with comfy seats and nice staff. Great place to see classical shows and operas in Calgary.
Always love to go to an event at the good old jube! I've seen so many great acts but I must say grad days are always so memorable :)
Insane parking arrangement, it s horrible and the dial system is draconian.
Went here for the Nutcracker ballet. Over all great experience.
It always has amazing plays and shows. The parking can be a nightmare.
I visited this place for an epic concert which I will always remember. If you're attending an event make sure you get there at least half an hour early so you have closer parking spots. Otherwise you will have to go all the way to the lower parking levels. The bar and the staff are friendly and professional. The seats are comfortable and there is walkway on both sides of corner areas so if you want to Highway quick walk out you don't have to bother everybody.
The go to place for concerts. Sound quality is so so
Great shows, great theatre. Having been a couple times a year for the past decade I've never had a bad experience. Parking lot is a pain to get out of though.
Still an excellent venue! The production of Phantom of the Opera was great and the building still stands the test of time.
Went there for my daughter's grad. Paying can be a bit of a hassle, but the people during the traffic do their best. The place itself is nice, a bit outdated perhaps, but not in an impactful way. The staff is friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I can think of is the space between the rows is about the same as in an economy class on a plane.
All together it is a great stage. We have seen many performances here over the years and very much enjoy the amenity. Right main terrace is the best spot in the house, in my humble opinion!
Wonderful facility. I don't think there's a bad seat in the house.
All good but once seated very hard to get out of your seat if you have to use the washroom if you are seating in the middle. You have to get all the other people to stand up if you need to go to the restroom.
We went to see the Phantom Of The Opera. Well the venue is good the parking is a nightmare to get out of after. If you park in the lower surface lot it is much easier to get out. They have massive lines for the ladies washrooms during intermission. The second balcony only had water and twizzlers for sale at intermission.
Had a great time seeing Marianas Trench Doesn't seem to be a bad seat in there.
Beer was a little pricey..$8.00 for a Corona.
Be prepared to line up at the pay booth to pay for your parking.
Great acoustics. Great acts.
Chairs are a bit uncomfortable. Can t really sit back and enjoy. You re always leaned forward.
Great theatre and the acoustics were very nice, but can you guys PLEASE stop selling Twizzlers? So much crackling while trying to enjoy the productions and the whole thing is just so unnecessary.
We tore down the general hospital but somehow we decided to keep this 60 year old building?
Exactly like Northern Alberta Jubilee which was interesting. Nice building, decent seating and good acoustics! Handy location too right by the train.
Great venue for any type of show, I've been here for widely ranging events and it's always been good. Has a sort of opera/theatre feel which can make a regular night out feel like a date night.
Great venue, great service, parking is bad, you need an app called hangtag
We are lucky to have this world class facility in our city
I love this venue, nice setup and great seats, very comfortable
Great venue but everyone always had the volume just a bit high so the singing and music starts to distort
The show was spectacular, the sound was amazing! The seats are not comfortable unless you have a toothpicks body and the concessions were terrible! A few snotty faces really disappointed me when my son tried to place his order!
Always a delight. Gray sound, wonderful sight lines.
Modern auditorium in Calgary. Offers many services including mini bars and coffee counters. Staff are uniformed and friendly. Lots of parking spaces and is also beside a CTrain station. Hosts Alberta Ballet and many large shows and performances.
Close parking, great service, and in my opinion all of the seating is good from the front to the back.
Best venue to see anything and you can always get a decent seat
