Took my wife to the ER at 3:00AM. Nurse called us in 5 minutes. Medical Staff was very kind and helpful. Doctor told us at 6:30 AM that we could go home but one specific lab result would not be available until the afternoon. Stated that he would call us with the results. That his cell phone number was from Tennessee but to be sure to take the call. He called at 12:15 with the results. This was 5 hours after he got off his shift! Way to go SGMC!

Waited in the ER for at least 6 hours. Not sure if my friend had experienced a seizure or a mild stroke. They still made her wait for hours before being seen by a doctor. This has got to be the worst excuse for hospital care I have ever seen.

Dr. Parker and the OR staff were champs! All nursing staff were on point too! Appendectomy knocked out super smooth, and relatively painless after the surgery. ER doc tried to send me home though, with a rupturing appendix. They did an ultrasound of my testicles, found nothing, and tried to send me, a 29 year old with no medical history (in pain that was making it impossible to walk), home. That was pretty lame.

OR staff - 5 stars
Nursing Staff - 5 stars
Imaging techs and various lab staff - 5 stars
Custodial Staff and Room Service Staff - 6 stars!
ER doctor - 1 star

I would give this a zero star....i was there about a week ago for stomach issues and bleeding and i am hearing impaired...they tried to set up VRI when i couldn't understand them...shame come to find out the VRI crashed ..the staff needs to be trained to have access for the deaf people and also the Emergency room needs to improve on calling people also needs to make more accessible for the deaf people to hear their names and communication better....i sat there for 3 whole hours waiting and not even being called to be seen the people that came after me they were called and being seen so i got up and asked the one of the er staff when will i be seen she said don't know and i said i'm gonna go home and she said go ahead...seems not to be concerned at all the emergency room and the staffs needs improvement when i actually thought they would...now i know i will go to another hospital or urgent care when something happens also few years ago bad experience with SGMC when they keep sending my grandmother home for no reason when she was so weak unable to move and not eating 4 times!!! sent her home 4 times!! then we decided to send her to florida hospital come to find out she had multiple brain strokes and her organs was already failing and she died few days later,,, very devasted ! only if SGMC had found out she would probably be still alive... SGMC needs new staffs new friendly nurses and more accessible for deaf people

Absolute worst medical establishment in the south ...

Absolute worst medical establishment in the south east. This is the second time my wife as had to go. Tonight she had a very high fever and we sat in the waiting room for 4 hours with no attention. We finally decided to leave when the lady told us it might be a few more hours. The time before this my wife had a life treating kidney infection and we were there for 7 hours. We she finally did get help she requested a vain tech because her vains are hard to find they said they were all qualified. She was stabbed 5 times with two busted veins before bringing in a vein tech. In conclusion you are better off calling an ambulance or driving the distance to another er.

I was sent to SGMC by a local doctor's office for ...

I was sent to SGMC by a local doctor's office for an X-Ray of my foot. I don't know if entrances were changed due to Covid or because it was Saturday but the changes were not posted. The outpatient entrance was locked. I found a lady in the parking lot in scrubbs and asked where I should go for out patient X-rays. She sent me to the parking deck. That entrance was manned and they tried to announce me. After three unanswered phone calls they gave me directions to Radiology. No one was there. I called the help line and a very nice young lady named Samantha came and took me to the Emergency Department so I could sign in. I explained why I was there, filled out forms, and waited. A lady called me back, took my vitals, and wanted a complete description of my injury. She then put me in an exam room in the ER. A young man with a computer came by and took all my information again.
Samantha walked by and saw me and asked why I was in the ER. I was supposed to have been signed up and sent back to radiology. I then had to wait for the ER to discharge me so I could go back to the ER waiting room and wait to be signed in again for outpatient X-rays. Samantha came by and took me back to radiology for the five minutes it took to get three X-rays of my foot.
I was at SGMC for two hours for five minutes of X-rays. At a time when we have all been hiding out to stay away from healthy people, I spent two hours sharing air with sick people.
I am glad you have at least one person like Samantha who cares about people. No one else seemed to. Samantha is the only reason I gave SGMC the second star.

I took my daughter in for labs that we have been trying to get for a year now at other locations in town. The orders were finally sent to Smith Northview and we were in and out in no time. The registration process was the best yet. I normally dread that part. The ladies were super friendly. Christina helped us and directed us where to go after registration. Way to go!!! Excellent service. We will have orders sent there again.

Everything was perfect except my procedure was painful and I wish the women or men wouldn t have had a conversation about a coworker working in a mental hospital about people trying to leave with her or the life and times of a woma or MAN s (couldn t tell deep voice if it was a woman) son at school about him wanting to be a world traveler yadayada. I was scared and nervous and I desperately wanted them to be professional and shut up. I have heard people talk less at a beauty shop.

SHOUT OUT to Dr. Griner, Dr. Solis and #TeamSGMC!! Symptoms that I attributed to diet and weight were quickly diagnosed as a saddle pulmonary embolism with multiple blood clots in both lungs and clots in both legs. The size and number of clots in my body are usually found as a cause of death in most people.

I want to thank Laura Fiveash and her 3T staff for the excellent care and service I received during my admission. Amy, Mariska, Jennifer Brantley, Gish and several others that I'm sorry I can't recall. You guys love your jobs and it shows. I also want to recognize other departments like Marshall in CT radiology, the Echo staff, the Ultrasound staff, and lab staff were all professional and kind.

Five stars in this review aren't enough for me to express the level of service and professionalism I received as a patient. All my thanks to #TeamSGMC and Dr. Griner. You guys will forever be my heroes.

Recently had a dreaded trip to the ER, the last place anyone wants to go, especially these days. From the moment I showed up at the front door needing a wheelchair to me leaving the building, the ER staff was amazing!! To the staff that worked extremely hard to manage my situation and keep me comfortable the entire visit, 6/15/29, thank you for everything! You all are a great example of what patient care is all about

The weirdest and filthiest hospital in the entire USA, yuck! Lord, patients here are at risk for sepsis, it is so dirty! I have never spoken out about a client hospital in the past, but this hospital takes the cake in terms of the worst client, very toxic, disrespectful and intrusive. I felt like a little kid back in elementary school. If you are a consultant, stay away from this place, the folks at the PFS department are all low class including their characters comprised mostly of small minded busy buddies and gossipers.

The librarian looking false consultant, Crystal Sirman, wearing a cheap ass suit from Ross is a bully. No one should be bullied at work. It shocks me why her childish behavior is being tolerated. She is one of those unskilled low class consultant.

People were all very nice, professional
Seems when doing Preop the patients could be in one place instead of having to walk all over the hospital. Not feeling well makes it hard on the patients

I was admitted to the SGMC Emergency Room on Thurs...

I was admitted to the SGMC Emergency Room on Thursday evening I (February 6th) with several broken ribs after falling from a ladder at my house; one of the ribs pierced my left lung which was deflated. Needless to say I was in severe pain and was having difficulty breathing. I was admitted and moved to a room within about 15 minutes....Dr. Hawkins and his staff were evaluating me immediately and Dr. Joe Johnson arrived in the ER very quickly and performed the procedure to reinflate my lung so I was able get some relief with my breathing. Dr. Johnson directed that I get a CT scan because I had also hit my head when I fell. After the scan, Dr. Johnson actually took me to the Dasher Heart Center where I went to 3T. This is where I spent the next five days recovering and recuperating before being released yesterday (Tuesday, February 11th).

Both my care and the caregivers on 3T were outstanding. Of course, Dr. Johnson and his staff checked on me regularly keeping me informed of the status of my recovery and what I could expect going forward. While all the caregivers were outstanding, several individuals deserve special kudos: (1) Joan, my day RN, worked to get my medication stabilized early in my stay and I am convinced this enabled a faster recovery; she was also quite attentive throughout my stay. (2) Cassie, my day tech, was attentive throughout my stay and her positive, happy demeanor was certainly a positive influence on my recovery. (3) Finally, Josh, who was my discharge RN yesterday was very helpful throughout the final morning and the discharge process.

Finally, people will not believe this but I found the food to be good during my stay. The staff who gave me my choices each day were all delightful.

This hospital is horrible! !! I swear the CEO or whoever facilitates this place needs to be fired!
They make patients wait longer for more funds. That's a real sue.
My 5 yr old went in with blood pouring from his nose and we waited in the lobby for 5 hours and waited to see a Dr. For additional 4 hrs. I went in 1pm and left hospital at 11pm.... this hospital is the worst I ever been too. I will be taking this situation further.
