I Had a wonderful experience while I was at SGMC....
I Had a wonderful experience while I was at SGMC. The nurses, techs and the Drs.. were awesome! The hospital food was good and all was very clean. Excellent Job to all of you!

This medical facility has stepped up its game. Check in was quick and accurate. My 9 yr old now feels confidence when entering outpatient. The employees went over and beyond to make him feel safe during his visit. The EKG tech was extraordinary, she knows how to treat kids and she has a great personality in general. Also the lady janitor was awesome I left my Samsung tablet without knowing it, she made bought awareness of my mishap of leaving it. Special Thanks to her as well.
My elderly mother just moved down to Lake Park from Raleigh and I am assuming this would be the hospital she will be dealing with. Which, after reading these reviews, horrifies me. Hopefully there is another medical center nearby. I just can't believe with the severity of some of these claims, the only thing the hospital has in rebuttal is the EXACT same thing for each complaint. Just a cookie-cutter response copied and pasted for each. That just goes to show right there that their patients are of no priority to them, you don't even need to walk through their door.
The wait in this ER the worst. People sit around here for hours talking about who has been here longer.... It's a joke and the the administration should be fired for such a poor operation. If you can drive to another city and get faster medical attention there clearly is an issue which needs addressed.
Jennifer at Urgent Care was amazing & so nice yo me & my son!
I was treated most courteously by admission staff, radiology, and with lab staff as well. I was seen with only a modest wait time and was in and out in an hour having all my tests done most expertly.
Been sitting here since 5:30 with my pregnant girlfriend who is having horrible symptoms, it's now 8:18 pm. Almost 3 solid hours of nothing. On top of that there is a girl that's been here since 1pm!!!!! 1!!! She's shaking and bawling her eyes out and hasn't been helped at all. This hospital is a joke. Not to mention there's a elderly man beside my who is bleeding out of his ears and is completely unaware of what's going on and he's probably gonna be here for several hours as well. My suggestion. Fire everyone and get a better staff along with a plan on how to actually running this joke of a hospital.
UPDATE: it is now 12:18 am. After waiting from 5:30-9:25 pm to be seen me and my girlfriend have been sitting in this room since 9:30pm. We took a urine sample and they completely forgot about it. I walked out and saw her just sitting there. DOING NOTHING. It literally sat on the counter for over 2 hours. We are currently "waiting" on flu results. No telling how long we will be here. I WILL NEVER EVER RETURN TO THIS JOKE OF A HOSPITAL EVER AGAIN. Literally spoke to one doctor that was nice and not even the nice guy can even care. A freaking disgrace.
The hospital was nice and clean. They took my temperature at the door and asked me some questions pertaining to Covid 19 symptoms. I went through the Mammogram without any issues. The nurses were polite and professional. I did have to wait for over an hour in the little cape thing until the Dr. got out of a meeting to tell them to do an ultrasound also. This did not help with my anxiety over having to have a 2nd Mammogram. That's why I didn't give 5 stars.
My 19 year old daughter went there with food poisoning having thrown up 9 times in 12 hours. SHES BEEN THERE 8 hours, WITHOUT BEING SEEN!!! SHES STILL WAITING!!! People are being taken before her that arrived well after her! What kind of place are you running there??!!
I've seen better health care tendered to drunken hobos by stray cats. After 5 hours waiting for some sort of human medical intervention on behalf of my wife, who was suffering severe abdominal pain and shuffled to a backroom sporting a hospital gown, we surrendered the waiting game. I pulled out her IV and we left. Not recommended to anyone, not suffering from direct blood loss. Forgo the wait and drive south to some modern Florida town to seek medical help. I'm pretty certain they dress up day laborers to play doctor to appease patients.
I ve always had the best experiences at Urgent Care and today was nothing short of another great service visit. Check in was a breeze.
Dr. Stout is always so friendly and thorough and if you haven t met nurse Mandy LPN, you are missing out on a true angel on earth! She was so accommodating and sweet from when I walked in until I walked out! Thank you!
I was seen at the Lanier Campus, Ultrasound Dept, Dana was very professional and courteous.
just wanted to saythat my experience at SGMC WAS AWSOME PROFESSIONAL STAFF YOU ALL ARE DOIMG A GREAT JOB TAKING CARE OF PEOPLE.
I had been brought in by ambulance because of fluid overload. I was having difficulty breathing and the nurses and doctors were so helpful it really made a crappie situation just a little bit better. Thanks SGMC it was a good visit considering the circumstances..
It's an okay hospital, nothing fancy about it. Most of time your inside your going to have to wait a lot before they see you. It's really expensive so don't be surprised with the bill.
My visit was nice. The nurses and doctors were great I was in an out quickly.
I'm not sure where all the lower ratings are coming from but this is my 2nd stay here, shoulder surgery in 2017 and hip in 2019. Both of my experiences were wonderful. The staff had a caring attitude and certainly knew their dutys! I have had nothing but 1st class service here. Thanks!
Update.. March, 10, 2020.. had outpatient surgery for ulna nerve move.. AGAIN, ALL THE STAFF WERE MOST FRIENDLY AND ON TOP OF THEIR GAME AS BEFORE! Easy and smooth intake and all thru the whole process! Well done SGMC!
On February 18, 2020 my husband brought me to the ED at SGMC at 2:00am with severe abdominal pains, nausea, and vomiting. It was quickly determined that what I had was a serious problem. Tests revealed that a clot on my aorta broke off and showered my abdominal region landing primarily on my right kidney and my spleen. Further tests revealed that approximately only 1/3 of my right kidney and 1/2 of my spleen were still functioning causing severe pain from my back to across my whole abdominal region.
Because of the systems involed, Hospitalist, Dr. Agrawal called in several specialists including General Surgeon, Dr. Ziegler, Vascular Surgeon, Dr. Solis, Hemotologist, Dr. Stapleton, Nephrologist, Dr. Chiang, and Cardiologist, Dr Staten to review my case.
From the time that I entered the ED on February 18 till I was discharged from the Dasher Heart Center on February 20 I received the highest degree of professional medical care and will be forever grateful for the wonderful care and attention shown to me by all medical and support personnel involved. While I wish that I could thank each one personally, I would like to commend them publicly for their professional care and attention shown to me during my hospitalization,
Doctors: Wilson (ED), Dominguez (Hospitalist), Agrawal (Hospitalist), Ziegler (General Surgeon), Stapleton (Hemotologist), Chiang (Nephrologist), Solis (Vascular Surgeon) and Staten (Cardiologist).
Nurses: :Katherine Williams (ED Nurse), Daksha Coleman (Vascular Surgeon NP), Dasher Heart Center Nurses Tiffany Little, Mark Futch, Daniel Warren, Grace Snaza, Shelby Joyner, Janelle Kepley, Lawana Cole, Katie Landaverde.
Social Worker: Joseph Williams (Joel)
PCTS (for going the extra mile) Sheana Boyce, Charnesia Moore, Jennifer Fletcher, and Monique McClain.
In addition to the countless other un-named support personnel who were so kind and encouraging to me throughout my whole stay at SGMC.
To all of you, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart.
In and out total of 50 minutes! Took care of my issue without a hitch. Love Urgent care and their much needed services. Nurse Mandy was a doll!
Had to have some tests done and everyone has always been so nice and treated me with respect.
If you can go to a better hospital for a little more of a drive, PLEASE do. The ER docs & nurses don't care. They treat you badly when and IF (mainly if ) they come close to your room or run and hide when someone goes looking for help. I think I'd rather drive farther if I could, sometimes it's just not possible. Corporate bigwigs should really be looking into this! Medicare and Medicaid and all insurance companies should be looking into this also.
I learned a lot, this was a very good informational session. Also dinner was good. Thanks
Wasn't happy with our visit, my son was there from Thursday afternoon until Saturday. He's handicapped and was not checked on as much as he should had been, The Dr was wonderful but the staff was so so. Needed help getting him in his chair and couldn't get anyone to help us said they couldn't cause of liability which is crazy so I had to do it by myself. We usually try and go someplace else but this time went there.
would have given it a 4 star ,but no coffee for patient except on food trays. where i come from they have a coffee therms for the visitors also
Service Great very helpful Nurses Good Food (you wouldn't know it was Hospital food BUT the Building needs a good cleaning and paint. very old looking
Props to the PA and nurses there, had a bad renal colic pain during my shift doing ambulance transports and went into ER. Cool people.
I had a recent and unexpected visit to SGMC with an overnight stay at the Dasher Heart Center. Everyone I encountered were quite professional, warm and caring employees. I m pleased that SGMC can provide quality care for our community.
Anything on here above one star for the ER can not be legit. It is laughably horrible and it baffles everyone I've ever spoken to that has been here that it is still in business. A business run this aweful would never survive in any other industry. A lot faster and safer to drive to Tifton or Thomasville.
I was pleased with how helpful and friendly everyone to me. It was a calm and peaceful trip to have a bone density test. Thank you.
Dr.Clifton Thomas is always so very caring and compassionate. Even when is office is slammed with patients, he treats you as if you were his only one. He treats the entire patient...Not just a 2 minute consult. I'm so very glad he is my Dr.
In the last two weeks, both my daughter and I have been hospitalized. We had amazing nurses who took great care of us. Takara and Dana, on the fourth floor, went above and beyond to make me comfortable. Claudette, in the ER, was phenomenal. Crystal, on floor two, was great with my daughter. Everyone else did a phenomenal job, but those are the names that stood out to remember. While there, I had only two issues. One, I don t like the little room where they take kids to get IV s. It looks like a place where you would take a dog to be put down. It scared my little girl tremendously. They should make that a lot more welcoming, because getting an IV is bad enough. Second, the on call ENT has little to no bedside manner, and needs to at least pretend to care about patient concerns. Otherwise, I am very happy with my experience at SGMC.
Between 'professor' Squire and the two techs Becky and Danielle, SGMC has everyone you need to make you feel at home on their 3rd floor. Squire had elaborate and educational answers for every question i had, and i had alot. Danielle and Becky had a unique way to make my sick wife laugh and feel loved and beautiful. I cannot thank them enough, what could have been a miserable week ended up not so bad, and thats saying alot considering stomach pumps and such.
I brought my child in for x-rays at 11:00 pm. It is 2:00 in the morning and we are sitting in the lobby waiting for results and watching two women kiss and feel each other up. When I told the women at the desk about it they said it would be discrimination to speak to them about it!!!
I find this place absolutely disgusting.
I will not be back.It is the most unprofessional place I have ever been.
It is now 3:30 in the morning and we were told because the back was full and there are no beds we have to wait for a bed to get results.
We were taken through the back to have x-rays and there were plenty of empty rooms/beds/chairs.
One woman that thought she was having a heart attack had been laying out there for three hours.
When I called the OPERATOR and asked to speak to someone in patient relations I was informed that there was not ANYONE there that late at night and CERTAINLY NOT on weekends.
I think this is an Hospital is an eyesore on this community.
Maybe we need Channel 6 news to investigate!!!
This hospital is restarted they wouldn t let me back with my nephew and they say it s bc it s to small they have you waiting long hours for no reason they just stupid and the old security guy is rude I m sorry but they need to fire everybody and try again I ll drive to Tifton any day for my needs
I went in for a heart cath and the nurses were great. Jennifer did my pre-op and got my IV a started without a hitch (didn t have to stick me multiple times, she got them first time) When they took me back for the procedure Lisa and Kayla we re constantly by my side. The procedure was delayed due to the Dr. having an emergency but they stayed with me keeping me updated. They are some of the best nurses. Dr. Luke was great. He is the best cardiologist!!!
I love this hospital! I have had both of my children here at SGMC. Each one of my experiences were unforgettable in the best way possible. Each staff memeber from registration to discharge are caring and allowed for a wonderful experience. They truly care about what their doing with a lot of professionalism. My babies were very loved on also my husband & I were given a lot of loving attention. Thank you to each of you at SGMC you made both of births here a memory we will never forget!
Hands down the absolute worst experience of my life. Went in because I was fainting and they let me practically pass out in a wheel chair with no stress of urgency from any staff. They finally made my friend wheel me into a room where they were rude asking me if I was on drugs when I was having symptoms of low blood sugar. Decided based on their lack of caring that I would check myself out and left within 10 minutes of being there. They sent one bill for 22.21. When I went to pay it they informed me two more bills would be coming for services rendered that they NEVER RENDERED!!!!! When I checked out they were so rude and angry with me. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR ANYTHING! They will watch you pass out in front of them.
Horrible check in service. Social distancing not encouraged. Would not recommend
Our 11 year old daughter was bitten by a neighbor s dog in the mouth and I immediately took her to SGMC for treatment. She was bleeding a lot from the mouth down on her arms and a nurse put her in a wheelchair and took her to triage! She was quickly accessed and taken in the back. The front staff were great and Effie they and so were the nurses, doctors and staff. Dr Vandermark, plastic surgeon came and assessed her since it was a facial injury and took her to surgery within an hour! It is amazing how well her injury is healing and praying she will have very minimal if any scarring!! The OR staff and anesthesia was also so kind and informative!! We are very thankful for the great and speedy care our child received. This is our 3rd time over the years in the ER with a child and every time they have provided excellent care!
I do not feel that I should complain due to the wonderful response SGMC has made to the pandemic. While there was a lot of waiting and staff apologizing for this or that, there were also lots of smiles and good personalities! I am anxious about my surgery which I have been warned will have a painful recovery initially but it seemed like everyone I met wished me well.
From the time I was called until the time I left, I was amazed at the professionalism , efficiency and friendliness of the staff. From Kevin who set up my initial appointment through to Dee and Regan who conducted the MRI, they showed that they were good at their jobs and enjoyed doing them. This manifested in what was expected to being a chore which became a pleasant and enlightening experience. Thank you all and SGMC for having such staff.
SGMC Urgent Care at Smith Northview campus is a great facility. I have nothing but great things to say about them. They are caring, compassionate, competent, and quick! I've been here 2 or 3 times for myself and my family and have had nothing but great care for my non-emergent needs!
The worst hospital in the world. The customer service way below horrible. I waited in Tue ER for 3 hours when I went to desk the clerk says "they called you a few times so they took you off the board you have to re-sign up" everyone here is careless and in professional. This establishment does not even deserve 1 star but I to rate it to leave a review.
Everybody was great except for the on-call physician. He was very rude, because we came to the Lakeland Hospital instead of going to the Hospital in Douglas, GA because my daughter had her surgery on Wednesday at the Eye, Ear, & Nose Clinic in Douglas, GA. We live in Lakeland, GA.
I had pre opp everyone was helpful. I could tell there was a change from the way it was in past.
I can't say enough about how AWESOME!!! Dr. Adams and his entire staff (Pam, Tyler, Carleigh, Lorri, Ashley & Stephanie) are. My daughter and I had our first visit last week. After they gave her a flu shot and took blood she felt like she was going to pass out in the bathroom. I cannot believe how quickly they responded. Their kindness and understanding were so calming for her and me. Thank you so much :)
I would highly recommend them to anyone. Anne & Emily
The staff was courteous, professional and concerned from start to finish.
I moved up here from Florida Tampa to be exact it may be apples and oranges but the attention to detail at this office far exceeds anyting I received in Tampa. If you're looking for medical care look no farther.
Staff were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Everything was done on time and was very comfortable. I always choose SGMC.
Honestly, my time there was wonderful. They were fairly quick and incredibly nice and fun to be treated by. They made my unfortunate stay very pleasant and I am so thankful. My nurses were Jamie, Kaitlyn, and Geraldine. They were the most kind and attentive nurses I've met. Dr. Yusuf was awesome as well. I really appreciate all of their help and hardwork.
We had a short wait time and great service! I would recommend anyone to South Georgia Medical Centers ER. They do awesome work!
Went in with extreme abdominal pain. I was literally in tears. After having eight different nurses I finally got to speak to the doctor, who had asked me what I THOUGHT was wrong. I told him that I had just left my campus med center, and they had told me it may be my appendix. This doctor LAUGHED at me, and then said he was going to go collect his thoughts on what HE thought was wrong. He never came back in, and prescribed me 400 mg ibuprofen after I had already told him AND the other 8 nurses that I was taking 800mg ibuprofen and it wasn t even doing anything. On top of that he also gave me a prescription for stomach medication, after I told him numerous times the pain was in my lower right abdomen, not my stomach. This place is an absolute joke and does not care about listening to the concerns of their patients.
Good stay although the food could have been better the nurses were good my doctor was excellent thank dr. Joe Johnson
The staffs are very friendly, and never really had any issues, that couldn t be handled.
I came in the the ER they didn't ask no question they took me back started working on me tall the Steff on 3rd floor are very nice keep up the good work grill thanks for taking care of me
EXCELLENT CARE RECEIVED!! Received personal, professional care from the time I hit registration, through outpatient surgery, recovery, and discharge. Minimal wait times. Everyone was caring and compassionate. Thanks to Dr Sanders, the anesthesiology team, recovery room nurses, Summer, RN and Sheila, PCT for making my procedure an excellent experience!!! Thank you!!!!
Our experience with SGMC was handled very well. Everyone was pleasant and professional. We have no complaints.
Nurse Chris is the best. She is good and wonderful at her job and makes you feel at home. Jessica the tech was wonderful, always checking in making sure you have what you need.
The doctor was horrible, nurse was the best. I visited sgmc SNV campus thinking it would be better than the main campus. I requested a COVID test due to being in the medical field and knowing that I was experiencing covid symptoms and the "Dr." had a issue with me wanting a test and also trying to turn me away from getting one and we wonder why Lowndes County is burnt out and when I didnt change my mind he walked out of the room and slammed the door. Wrong patient sir.
I wouldn't consider any other facility for my heart health. I drive 3 hours. to get there
Staff was very nice. Surgeon did not come speak with patient and family before or after surgery. Nursing stuff had to get other doctor to sign for Rx. Since my surgeon was no where to be found.
The staff was very knowledgably and very professional. They made my doctor's visit the best visit and care I have ever received
My Mother was admitted with full body spasms and having trouble breathing Tuesday. If not for my Dad advocating for her care and not acccecpting the "we'll just wait and see" attitude here she would be dead. He has had to demand care for her multiple times. At a hospital! Staff is definitely not on the same page at all and it seems like no one is managing her care. They keep giving her the wrong medication, which is seriously messing her up. Two separate times the nurses have told me it was removed from her charts and two separate times since I've had to catch them right before they were about to give it to her. She almost died from a lack of communication! Zero accountability. They monitored her breathing situation getting worse for a day and a half and it wasnt until my father spoke up did they actually do anything different. He demanded more testing. They would've just let her situation continue to deteriorate if he hadn't said anything. Now shes in the ICU. Her arms are brused up and down from them being horribly inefficient at starting an IV. Over 12 attempts that I counted in 3 days. Finally after getting completely upset the and demanding they do something different they figure out another solution. This is unacceptable, this is not the place to bring your loved ones. Stay away if you can
Our visit was to see a nutritionist for my 12 year old daughter with HER journey on managing her food choices! The nutritionist was very pleased with our food choices that we ve incorporated as a family to help my daughter accomplish her GOAL! She PRAISED me as her Mom when it came to making the decision to make it a family affair and not just HER by herself and helping her identify and remove the unhealthy foods and snacks and replacing those with smoothies we as a family like! Our nutritionist was very knowledgeable, supportive with our decision and provided great feedback for us as a family!
Had great experiences--my husband and I are both cancer survivors! Pearlman staff is great. Wednesday, I went to walk-in lab. Annette was quick and thorough. Registration was quick and I was done in record time. Great experience. Thank you.
Dr. Clifton Thomas is Amazing, he cares about his patients and he helps me understand my diagnosis every appointment I have. I can say the same for the staff as well, everything is in order.
Worst possible experience again!!!. Third try...3 strikes.. Won't come here again. Had granddaughter in for severe abdominal pain. Checked in at 10:05pm. At 11:15 went to see how much longer as she was suffering. Told me lots in front of her and they were going alphabetically. Not by time. WHAT!! She's 7 yrs old. Shockingly, no fast tracking for kids here. Staff has indifferent attitude... Could care less. For the 3rd time I left there and drove to Quitman hospital. Seen immediately.. Diagnosed severe UTI. And they truly cared..all 3 times. SGMC... You need a complete overhaul, retraining and restructuring in your ER dept. What mission statement? Was warned when we moved here 1 yr ago to stay away from SGMC. Wanted to experience and judge for myself. Now I tell people same thing. Go anywhere but there. Go to Quitman.
Poorly managed hospital. I have a child who is disabled so I have had lots of experience with hospitals. The ER is disorganized. The hospital is not clean. It does need to be updated but I have seen older hospitals manage to stay clean and run efficiently. The staff for the most part is very friendly and the issues seem to be how the hospital is run. There doesn't seem to be anyone who truly cares about patient care experience to even make improvements. This hospital just needs a management overhaul.
I am always greeted when entering the Cancer Center at South Georgia Medical Center. I am there at least one time a month, some times twice and the service and care is always the same: my wishes, my comfort and my care. During the 4-5 hour stay I am constantly checked on to insure my care continues to be as close to 100% as possible. I am so glad this care is available so close to my home in Brooks County rather than having to travel out of the city. My comfort and care while receiving my infusion is a constant while I am at the Center. Thank you SGMC and Pearlman Cancer Center!
Chad did a great job taking my blood... I literally hate needles and he helped me through the labs.
Wonderful Staff
Administration needs to pay attention to Needs of Patient Care ;Sufficiency of Nurse to Patient ratio. Supplies needed on every level for care.
If ICU is full?and Patient is placed on another floor for care?
Staff for the care of that person should be provided to alternate floor!
SHMC has terrific people
Thanks so very very much for your help and care
On phone I was given 10:30 as appt time, my recorded reminder said 11:00. I showed up at 10:30 had to sit in the waiting room while HGTV blasted YOU TOO CAN AFFORD BEACH FRONT PROPERTY for 45 minutes. Not sure this is the venue I want to go back to next year. The front desk employee and the technician were fantastic - professional and pleasant. For them, I'd give a 5 star review but the blaring TV ruined my 'experience' as you folks like to call it.
Everyone was very friendly and efficient. I didn't have to wait very long. I liked it when they took me from one area to another instead of me having to redress and find my own way.
I went to the Outpatient Lab to get my lab results. The service was excellent. I received my results in MyChart within two hours of having my blood drawn.
My autistic son had dental surgery at SGMC Smith Northview and I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with nearly every single staff member we had contact with. Everyone from registration to radiology, phlebotomist to nurses, doctors and anesthesiologists...all went above and beyond to make my son comfortable. Going the extra mile for my son goes a very long way with me. Thanks to everyone involved with our experience there!
Great service rendered to my mother during her stay. Thanks, SGMC. Our community can't get any better than this!
I went to the ER at SGMC On November 17, 2017 with severe chest pain and shortness of breathe. I waited until the pain and breathing became unbearable to go because I have had nothing but negative experiences with this hospital every. Single. Time. However, this experience was very different and very pleasant. My diagnosis was a collapsed lung and I was admitted to the cardiac ICU floor. From the time I walked into the ER until the time I was admitted to my own room (to include insertion of a chest tube) took all of about 2 hours total. I have NEVER went to that ER and had vitals taken in that amount of time before, let alone be admitted and have a procedure preformed. Since this visit was a pleasant experience I have nothing but positive things to say about SGMC it s staff.
I would especially like to give a shout out to some of the best doctors and nurses anyone could ask for! Doctors Brown and Johnson, nurses Jon, Bret, Ms. Kim, Ms. Mary, BJ, and the many others than took vitals, blood, X-rays or anything else that I needed! All these guys were great and preformed their jobs without any attitude, hesitation and in a very caring manner. Even tho I hope to never see any of these guys again under any circumstances that require me to be there, I do appreciate their hard work, caring attitudes and dedication to making sure I was as comfortable as possible. Thank you all guys and keep up the good work!!
They don t take care of their patients and try to blame their doing on the caretakers at home
Literally waited for 4 hours just to be taken back and told that they can t help me and that my situation wasn t an emergency, prescribed me some meds for something they didn t even diagnose me with. Thanks lol
Went in by ambulance for back and hip pain so bad I could not bare to stand, sit or lay! Was treated with compassion. My primary doctor called on video chat and told me if it worsens to return. 2nd ambulance ride around 6pm, got there no room available yet. Im screaming in pain. Finally in a room, doc in and ask me to move my leg. I lifted it slightly in pain, " if you can move your leg, you can walk. You have cronic back pain, im giving you a steroid shot and a brace". She leaves the room as I realize she going to do anything for me. Nurse comes in im crying begging for another doctor, my doctor who happens to be in the hospital at the time! He says he will help me and leaves! Doctor comes back and ask why I was cursing her nurse? I wasn't I replied, Im in pain and want an exray done! She said an X-ray would not show a pinched nerve even though I thought I had a ruptured disk. She and for me the South Georgia medical was not there to manage my pain and recommended I follow up with a pain management clinic. She then left the Room at this point I'm angry and I get up and staggered to the nurses desk asking for someone to call my husband to take me to another hospital. They continued to try to make me walk and when I finally got to the front lobby I hit the floor. Crying in pain I began asking for an administrator. As my son rub my back to comfort me and everyone there was staring at me while I rolled on the floor in agony. Someone came down who is supposed to be a an administrator with the doctor I was having issues with and I front of everyone " there is nothing wrong with her, she can walk! She has chronic back pain!" (HIPPA VIOLATION) My son tells them we aren't leaving and saying that security steped in and asked us to leave! I layed at the front entrance for 45 min waiting for my back brace they never brought. Following morning I was admitted by my Neoroligst for unmanageable pain and upon MRI I had a totally ruptured L5 and S1 and received two disc replacement and my spine braced 2 days later. Morphine for a week! This was the worst and most traumatizing event in my entire life and I was completely humiliated by the staff. Do not go to this hospital in a time of desperation!
SGMC staff are awesome, the ER faces the same obstacles that most ERs face country wide. No enough rooms for patient influx, staffing issues and an insurance disparity that leave the hospital uncompensated for a lot of the services they provide. Most patients and people in the community have no clue what it takes to keep a hospital open now a days. Furthermore people have unrealistic expectation when they come into the ER, the average wait time for ERs in this country is around 6hrs. If people hate the hospital remember, there are other options, see your primary care or urgent care. Walk a mile in the shoes of that staff only then will you have the insight to throw stones.
The staff took measures to ensure everyone's safety. They worked as quickly as possible under these circumstances.
I don't know about the rest of the Facility but the Emergency Room is pitiful. Waiting all day to be seen while my heart had had palpitations which caused me to be here in the first place. My BP is going up as they have called me to take my vitals twice. Another woman next to me came in shortly after me, with supposid stroke symptoms. She's been waiting along side me. Came in around 11am, currently 4:48pm.
We are currently here now! Since 9:54 Now (1:46) My son has abdominal pain so bad that he is sitting on the floor crying because he can not stand! I informed the office nurse she told me there is nothing she can do about it. This is the worst place to even attempt to be called an ER. Will not recommend this place to anyone especially if you have children!
I was in and out. They are very distant from their patients. My nurse was very rude when asking me questions. I came in and told them exactly what I had. And she questioned me as if I was lying for the results to come back saying I had it. I had less than a year ago. I made the statement 'Omgosh, that shot hurts so bad. I hate needles. ' she gonna make a statement saying well adults can't act that way, that's being a adult about." I'm like excuse me, as if my hate for needles and tolerance for needles is something I can control... it hurts. slick talking and rudely interrupting me by most of the staff BUT the checkin lady... but that's because at that point in time, I couldnt talk. The nicest one out of everyone. I rated 1 stars because I was in and out and was not there all night. But honestly treating patients better would be awesome. And not cutting them off while they are speaking would be great. I didn't feel welcome. Anywho, that all I have to say.
SGMC hospital is the worst. I went in and when the phlebotomist drew my blood, she put the needle in sideways, opened the valve too early, pulled the needle out which made my blood splat on the wall.
Best colonoscopy EVER (my 5th one- I know that's a lot right) From start to finish Dr. Castellano and her assistant Shannon were professional, knowledgeable and very courteous.

Thanks soooooooo much - Rick Jones
This hospital has changed tremendously for the better. I was admitted and had surgery and from the ambulance, ER, Radiology staff everyone was WONDERFUL. I was on the orthopedic surgery floor and my nurses Ms Kayla and AJ, also the techs Ms Vonda and Harlie even transport Ms Bacon took excellent care of me. Oh how can I forget my surgeon Dr Kendrick.
I have had bad experiences at this facility before about a decade ago but the change that have been made since the are remarkable.
I'm sure I left some people out so, thanks to the WHOLE orthopedic floor.
Wow. This hospital is a joke. The staff is unprofessional and seemed completely inexperienced. When our loved one was on the hospital bed and asked for a pillow, a nurse responded by tossing a sheet at him and said that pillows were not in the budget. The nurses were absolutely rude and completely impersonal, you would think they hired them off a temp service. Overall, this hospital didn't even meet the minimum standard and was the definition of unacceptable.
BEST HOSPITAL WITH THE BEST STAFF I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
Feb 23 brought in adult disabled daughter with a toxic reaction to schizophrenia medication she has been on for years, scary situation. She is was Checked in right away at 9:21. I guess attention to her was a 5, but waiting room, ER patient room and bathroom was filthy for a hospital and give it a 1, if not below. A shame and not good for a hospital!!!! Bathroom had stuff that looked like body fluids stuck to the wall by the toilet. Hospital is supposed to be sterile. Heard SGMC let cleaning people go and hired cleaning contractors. A better job needs to be done.
