I come here to work out with my girlfriend and we love this gym, the boxing ring is so cool, and super big place, i'm paying 30 a months and my girl got in for 20 dollars a month 1/26/2017, big pool out door and other equipment to use, by far the best gym I have been to and I have gone to LA fitness, Crunch, and 24 hours fitness. if your into working out this is the spot hands down. .

Nice location, great place to work out and awesome group classes! I'm giving it 3 starts just because of the plans they offer and the unclearity off terms and conditions to enroll and to "un enroll"

Went in to get a one month membership. I'm military and only in the states for a month. No one was willing to talk to me, even after saying I would wait until someone is available. Worst customer service I've experienced in a while.

Huge facility with a great selection of workout equipment. Definitely a must visit for all folks looking for a real gym with a a good selection of workout equipment, cardio theater, boxing area and plenty parking.

Bragged to my close friend about my new membership at Golds gym( Was proud of my new membership at the time). We agreed he'd visit branch to compare his 24 Hour Fitness membership, front desk associate directed us to sales associate who in turn directed to Manager Francisco R. My brother also came to check out branch, had us sitting, waiting for 30 minutes, then tried to force friend to sign up and when my friend told him we wanted to look at the facility a bit he was upset, and then warned me - since I was a member- not to bring outside people if they were only coming to look at the facility. What!? I was so disappointed, felt like harassment. I wanted my friend to join but that was no way to treat new members. Friend and brother said they'd never consider golds gym (they currently are other gym members), I ended term as soon as possible. Manager and sales associate never waive a hello, it's seems they feel superior to others. Bad customer service and advocates.

I've read some of the comments and the bad points are on point. Yes, the facility does maintain itself cleaner than my last gym (L.A Fitness). That good point doesn't cover up the bad management and staff that requires Customer Service skills. As well, when a machine goes down it takes them almost a month or two to get it fixed (I guess they have to wait for the parts to come in from China). Sometimes, going into the gym they have some of the staff members in the front trying to sell you their supplements. I'm sorry but when I'm at the gym, my head is in working out and this definitely gets to me since in a way it's a distraction... Overall, I would advise anyone that is thinking about going to this gym to just try out the free day or two they offer and to be weary about their payment plans (Not to overpay) and just be cautious. I know a couple of people in the gym that are annoyed with some of the trainers (Coming up and rudely asking, if you're done using the machine). For that one Service member, I've also had to go on a deployment while being @ 24 hr Fitness and they were able to freeze my account and cancel at that very moment! That is just ridiculous, that you had to pay without even using the facility... If any of you have questions about this place, feel free to ask and i'll do my best to give you a response.

I've only been a member for a month and have had good experiences. Staff were helpful. The Zumba and Aqua fit classes are great. The locker room was clean. They seem to be out of hand towels many times but do have full sized towels available. I like the facilities, plenty of machines to use and Cardio Cinima is a great idea. I just wish they could post the starting times of the movies so I could plan accordingly.

Excellent gym, clean, tidy, very large, the bathrooms with a lot of space, it has a pool, a luxurious place. Memberships a little expensive for beginners, if you are already advanced this is fine.

I just came back from visiting this gym and wow. The people are very friendly and nice, and the layout and design of the gym is just awesome. From an aesthetic perspective this might just be the nicest gym I've ever visited. They have an incredible variety of areas from traditional lifting space, to a boxing area, a cardio movie theatre, a cardio gym for class, and more.

How I wish my Gold's at home looked even remotely close to this gym.

Only reason I didn't give it five stars:
1. No power racks. Square areas are great but for safety real power racks are a must have for any gym.
2. Somewhat crowded (and I went at an off time in the late morning).
3. Locker room was pretty crowded and smelled a bit bad.

I visited this Golds Gym last week since I was in CA for business. I must say the facility overall was very clean, the free weights were organized, locker room was well managed despite the crowds, the machines were in working order and well maintained. I have been to several Golds Gym across the country and I will say that this one is one of the best. On top of that, the staff was very friendly, the front desk staff were professional and very helpful. I recommend this place.

I feel relaxed along with miesposo I bengo in the mornings and in the afternoon we come both is very good for health

This might be the best Gold's I've been. I've been to 11 locations so far. They have great equipment all around. Nice cardio cinema, a boxing ring and a heated pool. Looks new and nice staff.

Fatal ... they never gave me my class with the instructor and also I have to pay all year because according to them they cannot cancel me and I live in San Diego ... I only attended 4 times ... very bad

Despite what everyone says I find this gym to be filled with nice people. Yes, at times it can get crowded but it's usually pretty mellow. I have been coming here since it first opened in February '13. They clean pretty regularly and they have stations where you can get freshwater and hand sanitizer. Locker room for women is pretty clean the only part I find is gross is their showers. Yuck! But they are nice. I don't see why people think it's got rude people or dirty machines.. perhaps they just haven't checked out the other nasty gyms that I've gone to such as 24 hour fitness and LA fitness.

Everything is always a problem at Gold's gym. Always a hassle.

This place has a really bad way of handling billing and account issues.
I've tried talking to Travis, Craig, and now Nichole but they'll all avoid my calls are seem to be in a fcuken meeting, or on a lunch! Bullshit, Wouldn't recommend this gym to any one!

Started coming here regularly a couple months ago. Staff is friendly. I've known Dominick the trainer for a while, he's really cool.

Change of Staff and Management happens every year or less. Relationships with anyone there is impossible. Management is unscrupulous, unethical and incredibly disrespectful, they will waste your time any chance they get. Ask for an escalation ? It will never go anywhere. While on medical leave for spine surgery, I was told to put myself on leave - I did - the leave ended and they stole money out of my bank account for over a year while I was dealing with damage to my neck from a major car accident. After asking for them to return that money to me for services I didn't use and paper work that I had given them saying that I couldn't be there. They wasted months of my time only to refuse to give the funds back. I wouldn't allow them access to your credit card information. I wouldn't trust any of them to do what they say you're going to do. I refuse to give them another dollar, or any more time as soon as I finish this complaint. Questions? Feel free to ask. Oh, and find a smaller custom gym the big guys are there to make money not to help you.

I took over my son membership at first for 24 $ a month. Then I notice they weren't taking the money out of my account. Then someone from corporate office said everything was fixed. Well that was wrong . They tried to go after my son who has excellent credit. Then some slick salesman sits me down and says sign here. I told them it's your corporate problem . I end up signing something I trusted what was being explained but it was not the truth.. SNAFU. The only reason I stayed is because AARP has a program ( Silver Sneekers ) so it's being paid by my insurance. The only reason I am still there is because of the kick boxing ring. Have been doing Martial Arts for over 40yrs. And as far as broken equipment it takes weeks on end to get certain equipment fixed its unexceptible ! I Come from a Marine Corps family & believe me I think someone should be kicked square in the ass with a Marine Corp boot. Honest to God truth !

This location is no longer a Gold's Gym. They sold to La Fitness Last Friday (6/1/18). I hope the service stays the same.

Super gym. Huge. Pool. Sauna. Showers ( with good water pressure) clean.

I wanted to like this place. It was big, lots of equipment and clean. Most gyms have busy hours, but when this place is packed there is not a single piece of equipment available. Also, when I signed up for a free pass they wanted me to write down emails of friends and family so they could email them the annoying daily specials that I now get. Pass.

Upscale gym environment for a not so upscale price.
Equipment is maintained almost meticulously so. And the wide offering of said equipment earns this gym a perfect rating.

Heated pool, lots of cardio equipment, very clean, and membership includes towel service. It does get very crowded after work on weekdays in the weight room. I usually stick to machines and floor exercises because the weight room is packed. They do have a lot of equipment outside free weights which I like. Like monkey bars, rope station, jumping blocks, etc...

They don't replace damaged equipment as fast as I'd like. For example I've seen a frayed battle rope there for months until recently replaced. Parking is easy, service friendly. I joined during the $20/month deal otherwise membership is double that. I'd probably rate it 3.5 stars if I could.

This is now LA Fitness with changes under way. Liked it better when it was Gold's.

wow i used to go to la fitness but the staff there was so rude then one day i saw that it was having a grand opening and well it was stunning especially the inside i got a membership and the front desk greeted me it was all amazing but then one day i was like maybe i should explore this place and i did. so i saw the tanning room awsome the pool was big and i loved how a certin lady treated me i think her name was elia or so and she hande me towels and to all my friends and asked me if everything was ok they wouldnt do that at la fitness and over time i see that she is the only one who really works hard most other staff goes to talk with people

They were closed early on labor day and had no way to check when they closes. They need a better system of communicating their hours

environment is energetic; everyone actually minds their own business (if you're worried they're looking); locker rooms are nice and clean

I'm changing my review from 5 start to 3 star. Why? Ok here it is
I started on this gym 4 years ago and it was in outstanding condition. And as we all know without proper care and cleaning things usually get out of hand, now the gym is missing a lot of tools like bench press bar people are taking them to use them for other workout like back workout. And they also have removed one machine for chest workout and now we short a machine. And also most of the machines are missing that little small hook if u call it that goes in the weights while choosing ur desire weight. Cleanliness is getting out of hand now the machines are starting to have that old machine smell like dumbbells and bars. And also cardio machines need to be fixed asap the buttons where u push to add speed and also the incline button. I say start fixing things now before u loose customers as I'm waiting for the new golds gym in anahiem to open up.

This is a great gym with a friendly, helpful staff. It is huge and well-equipped. I don't understand all the bad reviews, as I've been training here for 2 years without any problems.

Well a rumor is that in the guys shower some People are being dared to bust a nut or cum inside the shampoos in the showers they posted vids on Facebook and YouTube them doinn that so i wouldn't take a shower here just saying

My wife and I own a condo in walking distance of this gym. We've been waiting for Gold's Gym price to come down since it opened. With the new special, it's finally at a price we're willing to pay. We're looking forward to working out in a cool, comfortable gym this summer.

Anthony, the new GM, was not at all pushy. We'd been worried we'd get a big sales pitch, and that was not at all the case. We're off to a good start at this gym.

Careful with gym. Make sure they inform you about commitment period, cancelation fees mantaince fee ask for how much you'll pay during the whole commitment contract. And if off contract your still liable . Many hidden policies. Watch out!

I like everything there, specially the trainer that I have now, he always focus in my wait n my straight, in 3 months I got my goals,

Pay $40 maintenance fee a year, nothing works. The women's locker room fountain hasn't worked for 2 weeks now and they rather put a bucket underneath to keep from leaking. The sound system in the dance room didn't work for months, they just fixed it. They decide to clean the pool one hour before there's a class scheduled and they send a notification email one hour after the class would've been over. The screen in the movie theater didn't work for almost a week. The women's sauna had loose wooden on the seat and is still like that. One day I couldn't run because there were 5 machines not working and all the rest were taken. I asked to speak with the manager and he made me wait 45 minutes after he asked what I wanted and was told I had a complaint. Wanted to cancel my membership but was told I had a 1 year contract, I didn't even know! Apparently "one year program" means contract. Then i bought personal training sessions and they fired my personal trainer for not selling enough packages, on day 2 of my package! No one called me as a courtesy. I showed up and I was told she was fired the previous day! There are too many things wrong. The only good thing is the day care, my son is in great hands.

I am having huge issues with my contract and VIP status they promised one thing and now its not working the way they said. They treat me and my wife like criminals everytime we try to get into the gym. I have tried to contact many managers it just keeps getting passed and ignored. I have to constantly start over explaining everytime. I can not stand coming into this gym

Mega big fitness great nice staff, we wanted to train for a day, no admission paid, we could buy 2 shirts for two and then we were allowed to train.

Updating this review. They now keep the place clean the employees are doing much better. Went from a one star to a three. The layout of the pool is horrible and unsafe, need to walk around half the building and a bunch of slippery stairs to get to it, plus had something sharp gab right into my foot...

Pushy Trainers, Won't cancel your membership, no matter how many times you call, or who you speak to. They just keep charging you.
Still getting charged two months out of contract. Had to call the bank and hold the account, to stop payment, and they have the nerve to start calling me asking why they can't get my money.
The guy who signed me up got fired for lying to customers, 3 months in. What a goddamned scam.
Never talked to the same person twice.

This gym is really cool. You can do spin/dance classes, or just go watch a movie while spinning, running or using the elliptical.

The staff are pretty nice here, most of them seem to care about their patrons and know many of them by first name. This is really nice. There is a pool for swimming. They've got some punching bags, which is really nice because I prefer to box for my cardio rather than run. They've even got a boxing ring if you want to spar or train.

Awesome place to workout. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Very clean inside an out.

Firstly people need to understand, they are a business and they need to make money, that is their goal; to have you sign up and pay for member fees.

I have never had a problem with the staff. I prefer to workout alone or with a friend. Weights are disorganized sometimes, but just going to the next rack, you will find what you need. Many experienced people will keep a eye out on lesser experienced people. Honestly, I don't see where the staff are rude at all, they almost always have the towels out, (been there two times where they had none out, I don't mind) but for the most part there are towels. The place gets crowded in the afternoon, I recommend going in the morning to midday, but not after five. It winds down at nine or so. I have NEVER been harassed by a trainer for sessions and I have NEVER felt disrespected there. I trainers sound very professional and push their members to workout. I hope this was helpful.

PS. This is THE best gym in Santa Ana, I have been to Crunch, LA Fitness, and 24 Hour Fitness, and sadly Planet Fitness.

They CLOSED the Xstudio and won t let you use it unless there s a class just because someone ruined it for all of us and made a whole on the wall and now we can t use it. What cheap gym that is now ruining it for those who got the pass to practice their dancing in that Xstudio. This is absolutely ridiculous and will be switching to LA fitness.

I assume the negative reviews are from people who have never been to a gym, and don't have the push to lose the weight and get pissed off and blame it on the trainers or gym itself rather than blaming themselves. I've been to various gyms in different cities and I'll say this is by far one of my favorites. It's cleaner than most, towel service is great, always welcomed with staff and I've never been harassed about buying anything. Price can be high but not if you take advantage of the specials like I did ($30/month- $50-60? startup). They have everything you need to make a difference for yourself .. and the great restaurant options aren't so bad either. I go on weekends and it's never really crowded, especially now since it's "bulking" season, whatever excuse that is. If I had any complaints, it would be that the fountain water tends to warm up alot and the wifi access is awesome... but way too slow.

I have been a member since it opened and appreciate the quality of all of the fixtures that they have included in this facility. However, aside from the few staff members making the extra effort to deliver courteous customer service... most of the reviews here are correct in that the staff is generally disinterested in the members. I will also go as far as to say that some are even downright rude with only the interest of up-selling or standing around modeling and socializing. Unfortunately, this Gold's is bordering the wrong part of town and I frequent it seldom these days due to the Latin grab-ass BS that occurs in the locker room, as well as some theft issues. I like Gold's a lot and am hopeful that they will be opening a location closer to Tustin/Irvine.

Ok heres the news on GOLDS GYM IN SANTA ANA...... the place is good but costumer service is really bad, Travis Baca (manager) needs more training, i call everyday and they say he would call me back and he doesn't. I got my membership back in september with the promises of having 100% money back if i didn't like it well my fiance went and canceled his membership and they canceled mine too, i went to work out everyday until one day in april the girls at the front desk told me my membership has been canceled, so i talked to Travis he told me i need to pay an activation fee since it was canceled (which was a mistake he did) i said no and he said "fine you can pay for the two months you been using the gym and your account will be reactivated" did i mention he said it will have to be cash so the next day i went ahead and give him $55, he promised that my fiance will get his refund in 10 days, while again i start going everyday, So at the beging of june i went to cancel my membership and ask why my fiance has not got his refund and the girl told me my membership has been canceled since february!! really then why haven't we got any of our money back? i also told her i paied two months full in cash two months prior and of course it didn't show it in the computer! wow Travis that day told me he will call me back the next day and let me know when i will get both refunds, well he didn't call i had to call him back two days after to ask and he said i will get it with in ten days. Guess what people that was 4 weeks ago and still no money!!!!! i finally call him friday and he was busy, monday and he was busy but he will call me back, today is tuesday i talk to him and he tells me that it is our bank account with the problem!! really he couldn't tell me this 4 months ago so i can handle it!! wow really really bad costumer service oh and he openly trashed his employees in front of me. What a great manager!!!! And still by the time i post this the refund has not been posted in our account nor does he call me back!!!!!!!

people don't follow rules and staff does not enforce them. i.e. Messing with the sauna and steam room temperature or people racking weights.

All they do it's charge. I'm so tired of them and decided to cancel so now they want to charge monthly fees and late fees and early termination fees. I hate this gym I would never come back to it and will have family members cancel as well.

Nice facility but staff is very unhelpful and rude. At first I was excited about joining, I asked for the free trial to solidify my decision in joining. They said it was Okay; But they were so bent on me paying and joining right then & there to even give me the free trial. They wanted me to pay the processing fee before I got the FREE trial. The manager was consistent enough to "close the deal", it turned me off immensely. I did not join.

The fake sales team and managers here act like your best friends and are super friendly (slick shinny shoe salesmen at their best) and lie to you to get you to sign up.

NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY, READ THE CONTRACT. If they say "you can cancel anytime" that's a lie. If they say "no hidden fees", that's a lie.

I really like it, it is always clean, and it has a great variety of devices.

I love gold's the gym is clean the kids klub is great I love working out and being able to check on my daughter with the surveillance they have. I also love the trainers especially Danny B. He is great and really cares about his trainees..his awesome I would totally recommended Gold's to my friends and family.

Clean, friendly staff with all the fun amenities. Only downside is that the pool is not in doors

This is a super nice gym they have trainer's , All kinds of equipment to work out with a very beautiful pool, sauna and steam room .. You can bring your child ..this is a friendly environment place so what are you waiting for come on down

These guys have a decent facility. Unfortunately management is so focused on selling more to their existing members instead of focusing on keeping them happy with the equipment, locker rooms, etc. I have been a member for 3 years. I have been hassled about buying personal training and supplements countless times. I have seen machines non operable for weeks at a time. I have seen showers empty of soap and shampoo. How many times has anyone asked me how they can improve the club and make it better for paying members? Zero (0)

Its a gym. Its good size with lots of cardio machines and a huge locker room with steam and dry saunas. But one of my favorite things is the cardio cinema. Pretty nice to sit in a dark cinema while getting my cardio on. It is probably the nicest gym I have been a member of.

Their prices at that gym is totally ridiculous for a trainer for 1 month 3 days out of the week it's $961 that is ridiculous that's a car payment

I joined this gym just for a month to try it out even though the manager talked to me like he was better than me and made me feel like i was being talked down to. A month later i had to cancel due to a upcoming deployment my unit was going on. They told me it takes 50 days for a cancelation to go throw so basically while I m gone for there going to bill me for 2 months of membership fees even though I m no longer a member.. it s a borderline scam. I will never be returning and will warn every person that mentions a gym to me never to go to any gold s gym.

After so many year now it became a Sorry ass company .. closed gym with out notice to LAFitness great ..

The gym itself looks nice but the management and down are terrible at customer service and horrible with billing. Our card number was stolen from possibly their location (the only place the card has been used in over a year) and I asked them to waive a late fee because our card had to be cancelled and an investigation was in place. They refused and were really unprofessional. I feel I'm trapped into their membership b/c the cancellation fees are so high. I'm paying $60/mo for nothing. Ugh!

If you are considering enrolling in this gym, I advise you NOT to DO IT, it is a total THEFT, and CANCELLATION is a NIGHTMARE they only bring you back and forth and do not solve ANYTHING, increase your cancellation charges that they do not even know where they come from Soon you already have 70 dlls more and they don't know how to give you an explanation and at the end of the day you end up paying every month that you are not going to use and a lot of extra fees.

The gym SMELLS BAD and there are too many people, you can't use the machines you want because there is a line.

After speaking with the new manager all of my issues have been addressed. Glad to see they are moving in the right direction and taking our feedback seriously.

I'm not a gym person but when my husband and daughter joined, I decided to go as a guest. I like that they have classes offered since I'm not into the weights and machines. The classes are very helpful cause it gives me guidance and the instructors caring. Everyone goes at their own place and there's no judging. The facilities are clean, the staff is awesome, there's ample equipment and overall a great place to get your healthy on!

Went to cancel my membership and it took over 1.25 hr to get handled

I love it is very beautiful and clean, very well organized and very well located. It is a good option if you want to exercise and improve your health. There is always a place to park and they have good classes, and the facilities are very spacious and beautiful. Bathrooms are clean, only sometimes there is no hot water. Sometimes during the week in the afternoon the exercise equipment is very saturated. It is a pleasant environment and you leave there relaxed and ready to continue with your life.

Unique floor plan - well above the rest - the best I've ever seen... Worth seeing for yourself. Truly Wow!

Was told it was contract free, to my surprise I was put on a year contract. Save your money and go else where, these people are sly, tricky people, all for a sale.

The manager is a jerk he has no clue what customer service is.
One of the reasons why I enrolled in this gym was because of the steam rooms and sauna.
In this gym people use the sauna and steam room without taking a shower. People wear street clothes, shoes in sauna rooms. I have complained so many times they didn't do anything about it.
If you want to catch a disease go and use the sauna rooms.
