Sonny's BBQ Review

They're currently having an all you can eat ribs for $16 and it's amazing. The ribs are good and the service is nice. They ensured our plates were never out of ribs!

A great Sonny's too eat at. The staff is very friendly and always checking on you.

Check your order if curbside pickup. I didn't get any garlic bread and the briscut was all fat no meat at all.

Fast, friendly service and great food is what you'll find at Sonny's! Baby back ribs were tender and delicious. The smoked wings were excellent as were the BBQ beans. The lunch specials make frequent lunching doable!

Our waitress, Mary Jo, took excellent care of us! The family feast was plenty for the 4 of us! Love their brisket and sweet cornbread!

It was ok...waiter was not very attentive food was average. Brisket a little tough this time.

The originals are still good, but the changes they have made to make it more like a Chili's are not good and don't add value. Also, the 'original' BBQ is not their original at all, but you can get it is you ask.

I normally like Sonny s BBQ, quite a lot, actually. This one, though, idk. The portion was way smaller than I had ever seen, bathroom was yucky and service wasn t that great. Maybe it was just this one?

Phenomenal food and prices for a sit down fast food place.

We have eaten at a Sonny's several times before. They offer very BBQ good ribs, brisket, chicken and turkey. The side dishes are very good also. We like the cold slaw, corn on the cob and french fries. The brisket is smoked to perfection and very tasty. The ribs are also smoked to perfection (unlike BubbaQues which are terrible) and extremely tasty. Sonny offers 4 different flavors BBQ sauce to meet anyone's favorite taste. If you're in the mood for good BBQ, stop by a Sonny's restaurant.

The ribs weren't done, they were awful. I also had the redneck eggrolls, the meat was mushy they didn't have any Cole slaw in them or cheese

Sonny said it, no matter where bbq takes us, gainesville will always be home. It is a nice sonny's. Food is good. Restaurant is clean.bathrooms are clean.i like the wrap around glass. I am a lifetime fan of sonny's chicken and pork.

It was horrible!! They were told a beef dinner... They brought me a supposed lunch plate. Yeah Right.....One slice of garlic bread and 4 small pieces of beef brisket. Not even 2 pieces of bread Or enough meat to make a REAL Sandwich. I won't be going back....Ever.

Food was awesome cooks are awesome in prepping food meet was prepared atiquitly sides were waiter was no where to be found had to find her to get check so we could pay for everything never even was asked about tea refills... Other than that all was awesome. Thank you Sonnies BBQ

Our server was unprofessional, was talking personal business about a law suit to the table next to us before she came to our table. Also refused to bring me a to go box for my food bc our son got ayce. Then went and talked about us to coworkers while we were still present.

Sonny's have and still do have good barbeque to this day.

I do not recommend using the website to place an order. I ordered online and it charged me more then what the receipt said. Was told to call corporate but was not even given a number to call. Asked to speak to the manager and the server refused to get him. Horrible service. Won't come back.

Food OK, been to other Sonny's with a lot better food.

Excellent food and service - my all-time favorite bbq place

Unfortunately, this place just keeps getting worse each visit. It has an old mildew musty smell as soon as you walk in. If the food isn't cold, it tasted old. The last two times I have been there they were literally out of BBQ pork. When I asked to speak to a manager, the manager never came. This place needs a complete refresh including staff. They have been closed before by the health department.

I really enjoy the renovation, feels much more open and modern, all the classics are good as always, sliced pork, ribs, salad bar, and the Southern Egg rolls are on my must try list due to rave reviews. Don't forget to bring back your completed survey receipt for a freebie! Would be 5 stars if service was more consistent.

Ordered Redneck eggrolls had nothing but coleslaw in them NO pork whatsoever, tasted like fried coleslaw..gross. Order a grilled chicken sandwich came to me super burnt took one bite and it tasted like pure charcoal. My brothers burger was also burnt really bad too. Waiter offered to get us new ones so he did, he was very nice at least. we knew it wasn t his fault but the cook s. My sandwich was still a little burnt but didn t want to complain any further just wanted to get out of there. Never coming back here again.

I came for the all you can eat chicken but we came alittle late and they ran out. Needless to say the manger stepped up and made us feel at home and offered us free apps! I tried the smoked turkey and it was great!! Happy customers! Thank you guys!!

We arrived about 415 it took about 5 minutes before someone came to the hostess stand to seat us and then it took another 5 minutes for our waitress to show up they were well staffed so I don't know what the problem was

Good barbeque. Had the sampler, & redneck egg roll appetizer, which was really great! Brisket was moist & tender, pulled pork was perfect, Chicken was a little dry, ribs were meaty and very good. Coleslaw good, but didn't care for the way the barbeque beans were seasoned. Got the cornbread instead of garlic toast. Really good cornbread! Service was fast, & waitress was pleasant. Will definitely be back.

The motif at this Sonnys has been upgraded and is pretty stylish compared to the older ones. The food is the same (very good). Service was a bit slow considering there were not many other patrons when we went.

Visiting from Tampa. Food was tasty. 3 stars for the waitress` poor attitude. Seemed put out out when asking what BBQ sause we wanted. We didn't know what the 4 options tasted like, so she got an attitude when asked to bring out all 4. Asked about their military discount and she seemed way stressed out and so I just left the paying to my wife... I went to my truck because I wanted to tell her how the first time back to a Sonny's BBQ in over 10 years felt... Not so nice... But the food was delicious, we all loved that.

A go to for my family. Food is always good and the service is fast.

It's a Sonny's. But it's a downright good Sonny's. I do go to Sonny's quite a bit, for the affordable bbq, and decided to try this location, even though it was right off of 75, and that sort of location is usually more meant to dish out "whatever whatever" food fast than good meals. However, we were surprisingly pleased. We came just before it closed, and both chicken and sliced pork were super juicy and flavorful. Will be a regular now.

My food was cold, but they quickly fixed the food. Usually Sonny's is spot on. Service was perfect, and the restaurant looked clean and we'll kept. My whole family commented that there was no nasty carpets, and that the floor was just cement. I was really happy with the place. Well done Gainesville location.

They always mess up my take out orders.... i mean the food is good but like just put my corn in the bag please...

Sonny's BBQ serves up plate after plate all day long of a local favorite. BBQ!! And yes it it is delicious. They hold back the sauce and leave it to you. Three choices on every table. Chicken as well as pork is offered.There is a delicious endless salad bar to go with your meal if you so choose. Some meal options come with the salad bar. That might be the specials. And Sonny's also serves a down right good breakfast. The atmosphere is pleasant hometown country. Service is with a smile and just about any waitress will get something for you. Your IcedTea and Soda are endless. And they'll serve you one to go if you ask. It don't get any better than that.

This was my first time at Sonny's & it did NOT disappoint!The ribs were sooooo good!! Service was great! So a BIG THANKS to our waiter Justin for taking such good care of us! Will definitely be going back!!

Used to eat here often before moving from Gville and always had a great experience. Very pet friendly outdoor seating area and they often bring water out for them.

Great new store. Very clean and great layout. So far customer service has been decent. Looking forward to continuing coming here.

First time eating at Sonny's last weekend and it was the best BBQ I have ever had! The waiter had the best attitude and the restaurant was very clean! I would definitely recommend eating here and will visit here again if ever in the area! YUMMY!!

My wife and I visited this restaurant and we really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Carolina and it was very good. The garlic bread was delicious. My wife also really enjoyed the pilled pork. Service was fast and friendly.

This was our first visit to this Gainesville Sonny's. It seemed larger to me than many others we have visited. They had a really great salad bar and our server was polite. We will definitely visit again.
