As a member of the spa enjoyed relaxing swim this morning in a cosy atmosphere. Ice outside.
Very enjoyable 2 night stay. Good food and comfortable room.
Stopped here for one night. Very impressed and would certainly stay again. Make sure you bring your swim wear as this place has a super pool.
Updated Dec 2020:
Third stay in 6 weeks, we are consistently impressed by the service and staff at this hotel! They pampered us thoroughly on my birthday, from organising surprise flowers, multiple spa treatments and a Michelin quality dinner in the restaurant, they are terrific! COVID measures have even won them an award, the measures and cleaning are far in excess of requirements keeping everyone safe.
Original review:
Flawless service, amazing staff and a fuss free stay of being pampered and looked after!
From booking the hotel to departure, the team were incredible and we had a really lovely stay.
We booked directly which meant we got extras and best rate.
COVID measures are the best we have seen from a hotel, including antibacterial wipes in the lift!
Swimming pool is lovely and separated into lanes, Jacuzzi spa allows people for 10 minutes, sauna and steam now open.
Book in advance for your 1 hour slots, complimentary as part of your hotel stay.
Incredibly tranquil spa with amazing therapists, divine body wrap left me completely pampered and other half had a brilliant massage. Luckily we got a last minute slot after arriving at hotel as it was fully booked so recommend booking in advance. We also were too late to book outdoor private tub!
Terrace restaurant was beyond expectations, food beautifully presented and they also had a fine dining restaurant with Tasting menu (sold out so we only got to see how amazing the food looked!)
Also can have room service breakfast if you prefer not to dine in the restaurant, chef and staff all super accomodating.
We booked a junior suite and were warned that it was a more "traditional" room and expected it to be a bit old. However, the furniture and room were pristine, huge amount of space, sparkling clean and just reminded us of a English country manor style bedroom. Separate lounge area, with desk, sofa and sideboard. Had 2 smart TVs, which we were able to use our Chromecast and also a great Bose speaker system.
We left after our long weekend stay feeling totally refreshed, relaxed and impressed. With all the restrictions, they managed to make the whole experience feel easy, and enjoyable.
Would come back here in a heartbeat but might try for the larger rooms, as I think the difference in price is worth it. They were sold out when we booked.
The audio in their conference hall was a little broken.
Helpful and attentive staff. The food and dessert is great as well. The hotel feels homely. It is good for families and young children.
Used to love this hotel till receptionist charge me twice for weekend stay and they refunded my money after very long time!!!
I visited for a business meeting so only experienced the conference room and the dining room. It is clean and in good decorative condition and the staff were all helpful and friendly. The food was above average but not fantastic. The complimentary coffee machines weren't working properly. Can't complain about much else but cannot comment on the rooms or spa as didn't experience them
Location is a bit out of the way, but is lovely. The hotel is next to the lodge and both have a lounge/restaraunt.
Had a pretty poor experience as the cleanliness of the hotel really wasn't up to scratch. Extremely worrying especially during the pandemic.
Lovely spa. All immaculate. Facilities and showers spotless and lovely smelling shower gel. Good size swimming pool. Shame the jacuzzi wasn't working the day we were there. Excellent sauna. Staff really friendly. Definitely recommend a visit.
Lovely hotel and very friendly and helpful staff nothing is too much trouble for them. Would definitely recommend and stay again
Very nice hotel. Went for the wedding fair which was good.
Lovely Spa with great food. Pool is a bit small for swimming if you like to do lengths, otherwise lovely outdoor areas and has recently been renovated.
Good hotel to stay. But unfortunately very limited vegetarian choices. They tend to treat fish, chicken and egg as vegetarian!
Lovely hotel and THANK YOU for having a family room for 5!! Wonderful surprise extras for the kids, nice pool and great breakfast.
Breakfast was chaos, we realise Sunday's will be busy, so not worried about queuing, had no milk on the table for our tea, all the orange juice and fruit had gone without being replenished. Mould in the bathroom around shower mixer and shower curtain pole. Was not told about building work whilst I was trying to work on Monday morning, went to Spa but found the pool quite cold, maybe okay for some but we found it not particularly inviting, so got in the hot jacuzzi pool, only to find all the back jets didn't work.
It was ok, lights didn't work in my room apart from one.
We absolutely adored this hotel! So beautiful, modern and clean. We stayed with our two boy's and we had the best time. The pool was awesome and also clean! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were so friendly and helpful. Please keep up the good work! We have recommended to all of our friends.
Attended for a wedding. One best of the best we've been to.
Great time at the spa! Large swimming pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. On tap hot and cold drinks plus yoghurts, cake and fresh fruit salad. Jacuzzi was a bit hot but once you were in it was very relaxing. Lunch in the terrace room was good and we sat and watched the water exercises and sang along to the 60's music they were doing the exercises to! I had a back massage which was brilliant and my sister had a relaxing facial. Will visit again!
Rooms are nice but the restaurant is a joke, terrible service and horrendous food
Can t fault it. everyone was so lovely and helpful. You have to book the pool due to covid restrictions but works well. The rooms are amazing we managed to book the 4 poster bed but had a cheeky look at the other rooms whilst walking down the halls and they look lovely and spacious. Overall such a wonderful place to stay would 100% recommend and will defo be returning.
Friendly staff and a decent pool with jacuzzi, sauna and steam room but choose your times wisely to avoid the children! The gym has some good modern equipment but could do with a bit more space and more of the cardio machines need to be connected to the TV feed. I haven't tried the hotel rooms yet.
Was here for a few days on a training course. Very good facilities and lunch provided. Quite impressed.
Great place lovely hotel lovely food and nice staff will visit again.
Excellent. Very helpful and professional staff. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Really loved the little touches. Food is of a very high standard. The swimming pool is just the right temperature - includes Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. We didn't use the gym but it looked well equipped from the outside.
So seven of us stayed for my daughters hen night , we booked the girls night in, a really good deal , I loved our stay , hotel and facilities are lovely, the staff are helpful and I d recommend this place again , in fact we are all staying next year , I opted to stay a extra night extra and my husband and I used the parsons collar, I hold this responsible for my handg over , we had a nice evening and my only thing about it was the bar staff seemed a tad grumpy and even though we opened a tab it seemed hard work.
You re spa is fantastic , we choose your hotel as it s one hour away from us all.
On my arrival I asked for seven glasses and ice to be delivered at 5.15 as did the hen neither of us got this a tad annoying drinking fizz out of a tumbler, we ask for our food and cocktails to come to my room 135 , apparently one bit of paper work disappeared so only got food/cocktails for 4 , however a lovely fella brought us a jug and in fairness we didn t need more food, the food was fab definitely better than a few sandwiches, there was plenty, we did ask for it at 5.15 but got told really food starts at 6 , I d like to have known this as we planned on going out at 6.45 , it was soon sorted though and our party got underway.
All the staff go above and beyond to help the customer, I d def recommend your hotel , it s one hour from me so easy for a break, we all agreed on meeting up next year from start to finish a great couple of nights had by all, as I said at reception just iron out the niggly things, which in no way affected our stay, one thing else my room was for three people but the sofa bed wasn t made , it also be good if the food had been removed after it just left a smell , but really it s was no big deal
Thank you very much for a fab stay , next time we are going to do the girls night out package and try the restaurant, you re buffet breakfast was lovely
Lovely place to get away ..with or with out the framily 5 star +++... very happy
Lovely ambience and decor but the best asset is their staff who could were courteous, polite and no request was too much trouble. Outstanding
Reminded me of a luxury 1980's ski lodge and just as pricey for addons. But staff were very friendly and professional in the restaurant... All in all a nice stay.
Good but expensive Hotel.
On the bad side: I left a valuable item in the fridge in the minibar (room 311) yesterday morning just before checkout. When I realized I quickly wrote an email to Hotel reception. Bad news: my item had been vanished, no item there, no clue, nothing,...
I consider that having a "Luxury" Hotel with Luxury prices implies more than a beautiful room, or good facilities. In previous similar experiences, I've always recovered all my lost stuff, even in "much more cheaper" hotels.
It's a pity but this dramatically affect my personal and my company impression of your Hotel and stuff.
EDITED: (updated 22/10/2019) Members of the Hotel stuff quickly contacted me to try to find my item. It wasn't possible, but they offered me to replace it. Today I finally got my lost item. So I'm really grateful for the interest and such a good customer service. Thank you so much!
Lovely rooms. Very comfy beds. Ideally situated for lots of local places to visit.
Stayed with the family and it was great excellent service very clean and the pool was great the rooms were very big but not totally clean but when we arrived they had a cookie in the room for the kids as it was Easter time
Fantastic place to stay! Warm and friendly staff. Clean rooms, large rooms as well. The outside is absolutely beautiful and the building is wonderful. Could not have asked for a better 10-day stay at the Hotel & Spa. Recommend to anyone looking for a beautiful UK place to stay in and near Fareham.
A fantastic 4 day retreat and pampering for 3 generations. All the staff demonstrated 100% quality service. Nothing too much to make your stay relaxed and enjoyable. I intend to return. Thumbs up !!!
Attended a course here on Friday. A lovely hotel, with good food. All staff friendly and helpful but... Ladies toilets not flushing and no loo paper! Very dirty door handles and no paper towels to dry hands. Cups and mugs were not washed and I struggled to find a clean one. The room itself was either to hot or cold. Shame as it has a lovely atmosphere.
Brilliant stay with my two girlfriends. We did the girls night in package and it was fantastic. We asked for an extra bed as only 2 beds for 4 people and within 10 minutes one arrived. Service was fantastic , room spotless and bar service great. We will try the spa next time.
Have visited The Solent Hotel & Spa many times over the years. It hasn't changed much but that's a good thing "if it ain't broke don't fix it". It can be quite pricey at times for what you get. Have stayed over once on an escape package More
Nice romantic, cosy interior. The entrance area is "lodge style" with a log burning fireplace in the lobby. Great, visible timber framing & beams on the ceiling & stairs. Several club chairs & small tables dotted about.
Reception can be seen on entrance to the right & the reception staff were very friendly & helpful.
Good location for Shopping Centre & easy to find just off the motorway & next roundabout.
Didnt use spa facilities so cant comment on that but overall its a good site & larger than I thought it would be.
Amazing venue for my sisters baby shower beautiful afternoon tea lovely place would highly recommend
Would like to thank the young man that was at the spa desk this morning, he said he was quite new to the job but didnt catch his name! He was so helpful, kind and caring.. we had a few issues when we first arrived as it was our first time visiting a spa and we didnt really know what to expect.. we was told on the phone a few days before our booking that robes and slippers would be included in the price which we payed however when we arrived was told it was an extra 7.50 which we eventually agreed too then unfortunately they ran out of robes and slippers as we was told by another lady. However the young man went out his way to look after us and gave us the hotel room dressing gown and slippers free of charge and said 'i just want you to relax and have a good day' he was a very friendly man, running around after us making sure we had a good day. Just want to say thank you to him for making us feel comfortable and happy. He made us veiw the day as 5 star by the end! Along with the beautiful spa, tasty afternoon tea who we was also served by a lovely lady who also gave great service to us! Definately be visiting again. The young man definately deserves a pay rise for his hard work and effectionate attention to guests!
Pleasant enough and quite modern. Let down on a personal level by the very below standard disabled toilet on the ground floor.
Beautiful hotel has a lovely spa area and a great restaurant with great food. Only down fall it can be slightly noisy with children. Rooms are lovely and big.
Lovely room and excellent facilities. Had to wait for table for breakfast on 2nd day but otherwise had a lovely stay and will return
Was ok, but someone had spilt milk down the corridor to our room and it left an awful smell that just lingered.
Area around the hotel is quite nice, good dining and shopping place nearby. Hotel in general is very warm and it feels very homely. Between your room and the lobby there is always that typical spa smell which adds to the experience.
Didn't make use of the spa facilities as i was only here for a work event but the swimming pool looks great. You might walk past it on the way to your room.
Breakfast is good. Half-buffet style, some one will serve you the hot food or you can order it and/help yourself to cereals.
Rooms are great. Comfy beds with feather pillows and duvets. Good tv, and even has a sofa in the room. Shower is amazing.
Lovely hotel staff very polite will definitely be back
It's a lovely hotel, family friendly, clean good house keeping, lovely tea and coffee making facilities, great buffet breakfasts , food is slightly expensive at dinner time it's high quality.
Wi-Fi was a let down that's my only complaint.
had a Christmas party here last year, excellent hotel, great facilities, and decent food and drinks
Had a spa day. Spa ladies were lovely. Pool was packed with kids (not my idea of relaxation) Food was good but service was slow. All in all was a good day, but not the most relaxing, wasn't enough seating by the pool.
I really enjoyed staying here the beds are really comfy and it's good there are a variety of pillows to choose from.
Got some really basic walls, texture wasn t amazing tbh.
Stayed one night and was very satisfied. Lovely big family room, very good television service, pool and spa facilities very pleasant and child friendly! Would recommend for a short stay. Didn't sample any of the food on offer due to short stay. Not far from large shopping centre
It's much improved following its refurbishment in 2017, however the car parking is still inadequate. The food I had was tasty and nicely presented. The service was good. Whiteley isn't a great location due to the local traffic congestion.
Marks on the duvet cover, mouldy silicone at the back of the sink and scuff marks on doors otherwise clean. Great bag of treats for my child in the room including carton of drink, a cookie, sweets, raisins and colouring stuff. Breakfast was awful took so long to be seated and hardly anything when we went up to get it but it wasn't even very busy. Probably wouldn't stay again.
The hotel is good value for money with fast free WiFi, complementary coffee, milk and water. Both room service and breakfast are excellent. Rooms are modern, clean and well designed.
Nice hotel. The rooms are really big and clean. With contemporary furniture, but cozy. The breakfas is continental and british with juices, coffee and tea. The staff is friendly and the pool is perfect size for a swim before going to bed.
Heated towel racks and great breakfasts. The pool, sauna, steamroll and jacuzzi all are great memories I will cherish. The hotels mattresses were very comfy and the service there had been excelent. There is a lot to do in walking distance from the hotel too. An entire shopping center can found a short walk away in a undisclosed small nature trail behind the restaurant. Go try it out. It leads to a quiet neighborhood and there is no turns. Just a nice walk.
You have to go into the pub to check in, although that isn't clear when you turn up.
Nice bar and restaurant. Rooms are spacious and have every home comfort one would want working away
Stayed overnight and had a wonderful time. Hotel was clean and staff were helpful. Champagne on arrival and given use of spa whilst we wait for our room. Spa was clean and quiet when we used it, with a nice temperature. Dinner was included in our package where all the staff were attentive yet not overbearing. We use this hotel on a semi regular basis for a weekend getaway and will continue to do so.
Great hotel, nice room & my partner enjoyed the pool, spa & gym.
Fantastic Spa and overnight stay with the 'Girls Night In'
Photographed a few weddings here. Food is great and the staff are brilliant!
